The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.
You need to sweep the upstairs there’s loose hair and it’s really gross. I used to go to the gym because it’s more convenient but every time I go to the gym is nasty. Hire a cleaning service since the people you hired to clean don’t do it.

I’ve been almost 4 years member but this place has the worst management ever. They said my membership was cancelled and I asked for guest pass for the day until I could figure out why my insurance pass was not working. the front deck employee is very rude and has had an attitude every time I see him. When I went to the manager to ask for the policy of why I couldn’t get a guest pass through my daughter, they gave me receipt of cancellation but nothing about the policy regarding guest passes. I have never received this bad service and the management has no idea what their polices even are. Go anywhere else, this place is the worst even EOS is better.

The staff is very disingenuous. I am paying 29/month for myself and as I was recently adding my wife to my membership, the sales manager - Chelsea - told me that my monthly bulling would go from 29 to 39.

What actually happened is that now they are charging me 29$ for me and 39$ for my wife so more than doubled.

Be cautious if you’re considering the Sugar Land LA Fitness—especially with Masha, the fitness director. My experience with her felt dishonest and manipulative. She continuously pressured me into paying for personal training sessions I didn’t fully agree to. It felt more like being scammed than supported.
The gym itself is also very outdated and overcrowded. I honestly can’t recommend this location to anyone. I suggest finding a better, more professional place to invest your time and money.

I had a membership that was 39.99 per month that I was supposed to have guest access with but apparently that wasn’t included although the website said it would be so when I inquired about that they told me it’ll be an additional $20 per month so The total will be $60 per month for one person and just a guest privileges. The staff was very unhelpful. Customer service was the same. I am very disappointed in this rigged game. They’re only other option was for me to cancel my membership and sign up again having to pay the yearly and initiation fee, which would be an additional $200 a side of the $40 per month.

I went here like a month ago on a Friday evening to see if I like it. They took my email and phone number for me to try it out. Well I didn’t like it cause it smelled too much like chlorine from the pool and it felt like a small area…very crowded. I got a call from them days later on a Monday, but I didn’t answer. That whole week I was getting scam calls from 832 numbers and 346 numbers…I was getting 6-10 scam calls in a DAY! That has NEVER happened to me. It was so bad, I had to change my number. Sadly I know companies will take down your number and sell it to scammers, I use to work for a salon that did that. I wouldn’t trust to give my number to this gym if I was you, use a WiFi number if anything or else you will get scam calls like I did, especially if you decide to leave this gym, I’m sure they will give out your number to scammers.

If I could I would give zero stars, it is not just the location, but my overall experience with LA Fitness brand…. First I was a member of LA Fitness when I was living in Houston and I was paying a higer fee to be able to use any LA Fitness nationwide but for work reson I moved to Virginia and when I started to go there, they started to charge me $10 per visit for out of state fee, when I inquired they told me O you have statewide membership not nationwide which was a flat lie I confirmed with the agent when I was signing for the membership…. But the club, customer service and corporate give me hardtime to cancel membership, even eventually I had to call my credit card company and requested them to block the payments to LA Fitness.

Again returing back to Texas I moved to rosenberg area and there were not a lot choices to choose for the gym so unwantedly I signed up for membership at this location… I could not use for 2 to 3 months and I taught it would be better to make my wife primary member and cancel my membership so if I want to use the gym I can go with my wife so I went to the gym and asked them if I can do that… the lady helping me explianed me that let her sign up my wife fir membership and then she will cancel mine, after she signed up my wife I asked if she could also cancel mine. She said oh no you have to go online and print a form and send it to corporate. I was shocked that why in the world you have to make that process so difficult if I could sign up for a membership in secs why are you guys not able to cancel membership on customer request, things get escalated from there the lady involed her boss on phone because he was off and he started to yell at me telling me that you should not yell. Did not let me speak and let me ask a simple question. This idea for the resolution was that come in Monday when the operation manager is there or download a form and send it to corporate and don’t try to ask questions or speak first my rights itherwise he is going to cancel mine and my wife’s membership because we don’t deserve to be a member of the LA Fitness. Literally I don’t want to deal with these guys who don’t even have ethics of talking to a customer to whom’s money they are enjoying their jobs, but literally I don’t have much choices closer to my home and unfortunately I have to stick to them. My son has LA fitness membership at southwest freeway branch. Unfortunately with immigration laws me and my wife have to leave the country until we get valid status. This for unforeseen, so on 1/15 my son went to the gym and requested to cancel the membership. The billing was supposed to happen on 1/17. The membership was cancelled but they billed us on 1/17. I called the gym and spoke with the area manager Kerbi C, explaining her the situation and requesting for a refund. She acknowledged that it's unfortunate and a one-off situation but she cannot refund because that is LA fitness policy. It's disgraceful, inhuman and pathetic that they want to stick to the policy when she could have considered this as a one-off and refunded the charge. I rarely write reviews, but my experience with LA Fitness was so bad I feel compelled to warn others.

First, the facility is poorly maintained. The equipment is outdated, and half of it always seems to be out of order. The locker rooms are filthy, with overflowing trash bins and no attention to cleanliness. It’s honestly unacceptable for the price they charge.

The staff? Completely unhelpful and borderline rude. Customer service is non-existent. They seem more interested in pushing overpriced personal training packages than actually helping members. On top of that, billing is a nightmare. Hidden fees and unexpected charges kept popping up, and trying to resolve them was a waste of time.

Lastly, the gym is overcrowded during peak hours, making it impossible to get a proper workout. There’s no enforcement of gym etiquette, so expect to wait forever for equipment while people camp out on their phones.

Overall, my time at LA Fitness was an absolute disappointment. Save your money and find a gym that actually values its members.

I am deeply disappointed with the service at LA Fitness in Sugar Land. I expect a gym experience that matches the reputation of a top-tier fitness brand in the USA, but this location is falling far below expectations.

First, the customer service is atrocious. Staff, especially Kerbi, lack basic courtesy and professionalism. Stopping guests multiple times for check-ins or formalities is fine, but the rude approach is not. Respectful communication should be a standard for any business, let alone a national gym chain.

The gym hours are another issue. While it’s listed as closing at 10 PM, this location starts shutting down at 9:30 PM. The staff, including one individual in a Santa hat, are unnecessarily rude, ushering members out with zero regard for respect or politeness.

Considering there are other gyms nearby offering better service and more affordable pricing, I see no justification for continuing my membership here if the service doesn’t improve. I’m prepared to escalate these issues to corporate and, if necessary, bring them to public attention through media channels.

LA Fitness needs to address these problems immediately to maintain the trust and loyalty of its members.

I come to the gym regularly. Use the stair stepper, weights, pool and locker room. I’ve watched the cleaning girl/staff mop over toilet paper & just push it out of her way instead of picking up the trash. The hair. Clumps & strands of hair everywhere! Yes we need to be sure we are cleaning up after ourselves but EVERYday I could take pics of the hair particularly in the showers. Why is no one cleaning this up? Lights out in the showers. I was in the locker room yesterday while the cleaning lady was there before & after. She didn’t do anything with the clumps of hair. Strands of hair strewn all over the floors. It’s disgusting. I’m considering going back to EOS at this point. They stay packed but at least when I’m showering with my shower shoes on someone else’s hair isn’t swirling around my toes 🙄

WIFI stops working more often than it should. Very disappointing. I understand only a few people connect to the club WIFI while working out. That doesn’t mean it’s something that the club should ignore. Every member should be able to enjoy what they pay for. This type of issue is a deal breaker. Considering cancel the membership and go somewhere else.

As of 9/10/24, WIFI still not working after complaining to the staff for 2-3 weeks. One suggestion for the management, you should ask for a refund from your internet provider because it’s not providing any service.

This is a scam gym. When I register, they will let me open an online profile and pay for services online. But when I want to cancel the contract, they ask me to come to the gym to meet in person while you call and talk to them on the phone. The personal trainers will try to pitch a hard sale. Its really sad because i liked the Gym.

It was very affordable and when i signed up they even offered me a free body fat measurement. When i went to get my "free" body fat measurement the personal trainer tried to hard sale me on a $240 a month program. I was obviously not interested and they tried to shame me that i must be too poor to afford it.

They made me feel very uncomfortable and i am not sure if i can workout at this gym anymore.

The truth is that I am disappointed. With such an expensive membership compared to the competition, I expect the machines to be working all the time, but that is not the case. I have been a member for five months, and there are always more than two broken machines. The ones that do work lack maintenance; in many, you can't even see the numbers on the weights. I have seen machines broken for more than three weeks. The only reason I still go is because of the daycare, but if they don't do something about it, I will change to a different gym. The staff at the front desk are regularly clueless. They are unaware when equipment breaks down, unaware of maintenance schedules for the hot tub and can provide no information from management on expected closures. There are not a lot of choices around. I wish they would upgrade some of their treadmills, ellipticals, and pin selected weights. In the morning around 5 AM there is a lot of grit and dirt as well. RACIST MANAGER RUNN!!!!Horrible traumatizing experience and racial profile by gym operational management for being black. This is where it all went wrong. A couple of weeks ago I signed into this gym very early with my 3 day pass before the staff changed shift. I decided to wait on my schedule sales appointment with David in which NEVER ARRIVED. As I'm walking around buying energy drinks and exercising a scary tall, odd looking Caucasian woman with creepy weird gray eyes approached me...I think her name was Tonya. She literally blocked me with her very tall huge frame from passing her and she would not move. I'm a very short individual and was immediately uncomfortable. She then started to ask me a series of odd questions in a very
scarstic demeaning tone such as "what do you think your doing here and who are you? After I attempted to explain I'm looking to join my entire family and clients after I speak to sales. She then said she was just making sure I didn't sneak in here. 😵‍💫 So many other non black people were walking in and around and she decided to stop me. I asked her who was the GM she said she was. I asked her who was her boss and her exact response was " such and such and He loves me" . Her response tells me 2 things her Boss will do nothing to her and they have something going on that's non professional obviously. Everything wrong with this gym. Equipment is old and RUSTY, the workout space is TINY and if you’re not wearing gloves good luck washing the DIRT and the RUST off your hands. I have been to many gyms before and this one felt so wrong because of their membership prices and annual fees. Just isn’t right. Oh, also just ONE squat rack?!?! $50 a month + annual fees for this?

My mother has been a member here for 2 years. When I was visiting home from college for a month I tried to find a gym and decided to get a 3-day pass. After the pass ran out, it turns out members can give their guest a 7-day VIP Guest Pass so I tried to get in with that and surprise! If you used a 3 day pass they won’t let you use your own parent’s 7 day pass even though it’s not mentioned anywhere. The only thing they could offer me was a TWENTY DOLLAR daily fee if I wanted to work out. She decided to cancel her membership and find a new gym because this was the final nail in the coffin and THEY WONT LET YOU CANCEL unless you go in person. What if we had moved out of town but forgot to cancel our membership?? Don’t go here, I’ve had better experiences at Planet Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness (where they not only let me cancel the membership but even offered me a huge discount just for me to stay a member).

I am used to going LA every week 3-4 days a week. The only facility I use is basketball courts. One day I had to travel to 2 different gyms because one court closed at 6pm while everything else was open and went to a gym 20 minutes away just to play basketball. Later that same week I went to the gym 20 minutes away just to find out its closed for Volleyball while not a single volleyball player was inside. This sort of inconvenience for someone that has been part of the facility for nearly 2 years is unacceptable. I am not sure why there are such rules that pop out unexpectedly without consideration of other people very frustrating and hoping this gets resolved.

Just love working out with our personal trainer, Emily. She is always so enthusiastic, encouraging and prepared. I also like that the club has now blocked off an area for training. That makes the half hour of training more efficient as all the equipment is where it is needed and we don't need to search it out or track it down. We've been working out with a Personal Trainer for the last 10 years at this LA Fitness location. We are 68 and 66 and really appreciate a good trainer and training facility. Thank you for such a great club to come to.

Ms. Kerbi is rude and has an attitude. She was unprofessional when she dealt with an issue related to my membership. The gym is ok. Equipments are old but sufficient, classes are always crowded and smelly. Kids club times/schedule is inconvenient.

Update: I still like LA fitness, the facilities are clean and recently have made some improvements. My new personal trainer is Emily. She’s awesome. She’s always prepared and knows what I need to work on. I like that she’s very knowledgeable and answers my questions.

I have been coming here for 4 months, the staff is friendly and the gym is clean . Victoria is my trainer and I like her because she knows how to encourage me to do my best or stop when is painful. She also takes time explaining every muscle and its function.

I have been doing personal training with Emily at the Sugar Land location this year. She knows her stuff!! She is always eager to workout and to make sure you are receiving the best routines for a total body work out or key areas of your body that need attention. :). I needed to loose inches and tone up areas for my sons up coming wedding. Yay! It has been accomplished. I would highly recommend her for your personal trainer. You won’t be disappointed.

A lot of old, non-working, and rusted equipment. For the most part I'm able to get in and get out but this isn't in the best shape. I wish they were open 24 hours too, with a full-time job it's hard to find a time when it's not super crowded.

Great new equipment. Giving only 3 stars due to the kids club
Would like to see the kids club open full day Friday and on weekends. It’s a waste for parents since we work all week to not have the daycare open during the weekend. Even if it’s just half a day on a Saturday. Mornings only but something should be available. Also, would like to see the people in the daycare without phones. They should be watching the kids and not be on their phones. More attention to the kids.

Really nice gym for the money. They keep the place pretty clean, but sometimes the machines will stay broken for quite a while.

Update: they recent redid the whole place and it looks great! They are getting better about fixing the broken machines too! However, a lot of the equipment is misplaced and left out everywhere. It's a little frustrating to go to the 10s and see 60s sitting there. I know a lot of that is lazy patrons, but wish the staff would circulate during slower hours and rerack and organize a bit.

I have been a club member of this particular LA Fitness for almost 10 years and even though staff have come and gone and the quality of the gym has been consistent throughout, it hasn't been the same since the advent of their Operations Manager, Kerbi and not to mention Katelyn. I've seen the club renovated, new equipment brought in, the basketball court fixed, a new training area installed, and so much more...even the music rocks now. Not surprising, I've also seen lots of new faces which is a nice testament to the workings of the club.
To the Staff: Thank you for everything you do as everything goes noticed. Thank you for who you are since your work ethic says so much about you and thanks for your friendly smiles as they make challenging workouts that much easier.
As a sidenote: Chloe. It's been a pleasure knowing you and witnessing your knowledgeable and caring nature. Wishing you continued success in your future endeavours. You'll be missed.

I’ve been a member for years and the recent refurbishing and new machines have been great, HOWEVER: this gym has clearly been handing out free passes to literally hundreds of teens that now invade the gym from 11am when they wake up until 10pm at night. The basketball court is packed with shirtless goons and someone brings a boom box in and plays rap music with the doors open. The weight area is jammed with groups of kids milling/hanging around with weights at their feet. Weights are being removed to the aerobics/cycling room which now smells like a pungent high school gym. They’ve had to bring in large fans because of the stench, lack of cool air and overcrowding. The bathrooms seldom have soap on the dispensers - the list goes on.
I know how difficult it is to get new members in but this “summer policy” of letting hordes of teens in has turned this into a frat house and you’re going to lose your CORE clients if something isn’t done.
I seldom see a manager here, just a lonely front desk person that clearly is not monitoring the situation.
Get ready for an exodus.

Nice facility and team, but there is a major issue in this facility against the health and hygiene standard, People are not taking shower before entering to swimming pool and jacuzzi specifically, people came from the sauna and bathroom straight in to the jacuzzi and swimming pool, last three days i couldn't use the jacuzzi as it's too dirty and the watercolor is green, which means someone urinate In the jacuzzi, many other members notices that and they start left the club as they are using only the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Management needs to take urgent action to stop people from violating the health and hygiene rules before someone gets a Disease, and everyone SHOULD take shower before using the swarming pool or jacuzzi.
