Swim instructor Coach Stellan has made our experience here a fantastic one. He is one of the best swim coaches- attentive to detail and communicative regarding progress as we work on coaching my child’s to swim team. He goes above and beyond to build great relationships with his students and is an excellent role model. Coach Stellan is truly a star at the swim program at Lifetime Allen and we are very grateful to him.

Did a family membership two years ago and paid out the nose and didn’t get much use out of it so I converted it to a single membership and put it on pause. They didn’t pause it after three months and said oops. It was our accident and never refunded me.
They keep calling me saying to pop back in and get a workout in and then if I’m serious, go ahead and sign back up so I popped by today ran through the rain and the guy at the front desk says I can’t let you pass that door without paying 60 bucks for a day pass
Wasted an hour of my time and soaking wet in the rain for false promises just like usual. Literally lack of customer service and empathy. I will never step foot in here again.

Very disappointing and unsafe experience at the Kids Club / Experiencia muy decepcionante e insegura en el Kids Club
English:
Unfortunately, my family and I have had repeated negative experiences at Life Time’s Kids Club — not only at the Allen location but also at other clubs in the DFW area.
At Life Time Allen, something extremely serious happened: another child began to choke my son while the staff stood by and did absolutely nothing. I had to intervene myself to stop the situation. I filed a complaint at the Kids Club front desk, but I am not sure if anyone documented it or if it was simply ignored, as has happened before.
In the past, at Life Time Frisco, a staff member yelled at my son in front of other children. When I spoke to the General Manager, he showed no real concern or willingness to take action.
It is unacceptable that a company like Life Time, which charges premium memberships and promotes a high standard of care, has staff so poorly trained to supervise children and lacks real oversight or accountability.
I truly hope this review helps management take serious action to ensure a safe and professional environment for all children.

The child care team is truly the highlight of this gym. Adrian is our favorite — he’s fantastic with the kids and consistently goes above and beyond. The Parents' Night Out events and kids' activities/classes are really well done and a big reason we continue coming.
On the adult side, I’m disappointed with the number of group fitness classes that have been removed from the schedule. For the price we pay, there should be a consistent, reliable class offering. Pop-up classes don’t solve the problem — especially when they’re not given enough time to build momentum or attendance. I’ve stopped signing up through the app because it’s frustrating to see options disappear without warning.
That said, the coaches who lead the adult classes are life changing. Zach, Amen, and Jeff (to name a few but they are all amazing) have truly made us better — both physically and mentally. They bring so much value, and we’re incredibly grateful for the effort and passion they bring to every session.
Hoping to see more investment in keeping classes consistent — the talent is already there.

It’s been a month now since I have joined and it’s been amazing! A friendly atmosphere and one stop all things designed to make you fit and healthy.
Sarge is my PT and he is amazing! He is encouraging and keeps me on my toes! Love it!
I tried my first dynamic stretch session with Courtney. She is fabulous too. She educated me and worked with my needs to get me feeling my best. I highly recommend her.

Good gym with a lot of amenities but could be cleaner. No one cleans mat or equipment after usage. Personal trainers walk on your mats while you’re using them. Premium price comes with premium expectations and it doesn’t meet the 5 star level of service.

This review is specifically about the Flow Vinyasa: High Heat class taught by Rita J at 9:30 am on Friday, August 8. I have been to many yoga classes at different LifeTimes across Texas. Usually, I find that the classes are consistent in quality across locations. However, I was disappointed by this class. The instructor played overtly Christian worship music, which made me uncomfortable and interrupted my workout. A yoga flow class should allow each yogi to enjoy their personal practice without being indoctrinated with certain belief systems. The music choice did not adhere to my usual experience with LifeTime classes. Further, yoga is an inclusive practice. I hope that this does not continue and that instructors can create a welcoming space for people of all faiths to practice yoga.

A Truly Disheartening Experience
I am absolutely furious and heartbroken by my experience at this so-called "luxury" gym. I booked a cabana for a family event, expecting a top-tier experience that matched the absurd price I was paying. Instead, I was left embarrassed, angry, and incredibly disappointed in front of my family and friends.
We sat outside by the pool, eagerly awaiting our meal, only to be met with delay after delay. When my order finally arrived, it was completely wrong—my kids, who don’t eat meat, were given an order with meat. I went back to the counter, where Caleb, the barista and the one who took my order and cooked the food, assured me that it would be fixed. But after waiting another 30 minutes, I went back to check on the progress, only to be told that they couldn’t make it because cheese had spilled onto the cooking machine. How ridiculous is that?
I was furious, but I tried to remain calm, asking if there was anything else I could get for my kids, who were now starving after swimming. Caleb’s response? A cold and dismissive “No.” There were four kids under the age of 7 who had been patiently waiting, hungry and tired, and Caleb couldn’t have cared less.
At that point, I took the issue to the lead, hoping someone would step up and make it right. But no, there was no apology, no solution, just more indifference. Caleb’s behavior was the worst part of it all. Not only did he fail to take responsibility for his mistakes, but he was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.
I even asked to speak with a supervisor or someone higher up, but was denied. It’s hard to believe that an establishment that claims to offer luxury service could treat its paying customers this way. What’s even more disappointing is that the staff didn’t even make an effort to resolve the situation.
I have evidence of the entire ordeal, and I’ll be sharing it with anyone who’s considering visiting this place. I genuinely hope this review serves as a warning to others. For anyone who expects the level of care and service that should come with the price they charge, this is not the place for you.

I love this gym, it’s always clean, the fitness classes are amazing, and the instructors are top-notch. However, the front desk service really disappointed me.
After my Barre class on July 24, I had to rush out and later realized I may have left my purse. I called to check, explained that it was a small brown purse with basic hygiene items, and the front desk woman kept pressing me for details instead of understanding the urgency. She then put me on hold for 10 minutes. After calling back multiple times, someone finally answered and told me no purse was found.
The situation could’ve been handled with more empathy

I love coming here and the instructors and cleaning crew are fabulous!
The reason it has 2 stars is because the way the front office treats members when they are in the cafe. It has happened twice now. I guess the “life arora” crew are designated a few tables throughout the week. I’ve come to enjoy my breakfast and an older lady put the sign on the table and asked me to move. I was in the middle of eating breakfast. It was distasteful and not welcoming to all members. I’m not sure why she couldn't put the sign on an empty table. The second time, an older gentlemen placed the sign and walked away.

A group of 5 of us went to pickleball open play here today. We’re all Lifetime members at other gyms. We all did the typical paddle stacking for about an hour. Then one of the staff members (Ramona I think it was) came in and rudely told us we couldn’t play anymore because we weren’t signed up for open play (this has never been a rule any of us had heard of). One of our members went to sign us up so we could still play and while we were signing up (there was availability on the website) she told us no, it was full until 8. We asked about paddle stacking and she said not until 8. We drove 30 minutes only to be kicked out based on an unposted, unspoken rule. Had we known, we would’ve either signed up beforehand or played elsewhere. Nowhere in the gym or on the website is this posted, and we’ve played at Lifetimes all over Texas and never encountered this. So for those looking to play open play pickleball at Allen, better either sign up to comply with the make believe rule or get on Ramona’s good side as soon as you get there.

I would like to say, the staff at Lifetime Allen, is GREAT. Their hospitality is amazing. It feels like a family. They go out of their way to make sure your experience at the gym is good. From the CAFE crew like Maliyah, Ashleigh, Lexi, Ian, & Caleb…they put their foot in anything you desire to eat. Go try their food, & tell em’ Cordarryl sent ya. Also the night crew operations supervisor, Ingrid, is the best at making you feel at home. She’s the auntie of the whole gym. The pleasant smiles, & greetings from concierge, with Zoe, J.Lo, & others, makes this gym worthwhile. One of the best gyms in the area, when it comes to cleanliness. They work hard to keep a clean environment, & that’s great for the customer. GET YOU A MEMBERSHIP AT LIFETIME ALLEN, you won’t regret it.

Love the gym but workers were extremely rude and unprofessional brought in 3 guests at 9:10, i understand 9 is the cut off but this location isn’t the usual one we go to and it was quite far, they let me and one guest in but then don’t let the other 2 in because it’s after 9???? Even though one of the guests already got brought with me and even though it’s ten minutes after they made a huge deal about it and me and my friends stood in front trying to figure out what to do since they wouldn’t let us in and we got told that complaints of lingering were being made??? Even though we were just trying to figure out what to do since they wouldn’t let my guests in, extremely unprofessional probably won’t come back to this location again
I normally go to frisco location and have never encountered any issues there

Great gym with a strong variety of fitness classes and excellent trainers — the main reason why I keep coming back! Special thanks to the following trainers:
Nastacia K — love your DANZE JAM training and how you challenge us all to get better with each class and, at the same time, break down complex moves for beginners to make everyone feel welcome. You are amazing!
Bethany A — your energy is unmatched! Thank you for pushing us to our max potential in your AMP SCULPT and Kettlebell classes!
Ruth C — whether it’s EDG or LIFT BARBELL STRENGTH, you always know how to motivate and encourage us to achieve new heights.
Rita J — your FIRE HIIT yoga is… fire (pardon the tautology)! Never a dull moment, always fun!
Tanya C — love your SOL GUIDED VINYASA classes and the energy and support your share with us!
The amenities are a nice bonus, and it’s a perfect spot for parents—work out while your kids are well taken care of and having fun.

I’ve been a member for over a decade closer to 15 years now and especially in the last couple years they have been increasing their dues like crazy. We used to pay $110 for 2 ppl and now it is up to $300… plus lifetime will randomly charge your bank account and hope that you don’t notice so they can steal money from you. I’ve been getting random charges and when I call in only then it is called a mistake and reverted. Absolutely terrible way of retaining long time members. The corporate greed should be ashamed of themselves. It is much wiser to finance workout equipment for $300/month and own it after a couple of years then to stick around at lifetime and see your dues increase to $400/month for 2.

The staff in this location is not professional at all,the front desk is extremely horrible, I am already lifetime member for 4 years. And I am bring my wife with a guest pass at 9:50. Which I know it’s a bit overtime but she just wanna use the restroom, after 20min they ask security guard to find my wife and expel her out. What a terrible frontend would do that to a lady. Gave 3 stars because I want everyone know that they have no respects to potential guests and did not care about their current members. This place used to be good with nice staff, but now the staff is definitely lack of training and basic understanding of respects to the customers. Go McKinney or frisco LT instead of Allen. Or maybe find other gyms, it’s totally not worth it.

When you come here and take part of the classes (I strongly recommend the spinning classes and the barbell classes) you really feel the support and energy from the instructors. I've encountered several issues with a staff member and personal trainer at this location, who has inappropriately involved herself in disputes between members. She has recorded photos and videos of me on the gym floor without my consent, which I believe contravenes corporate policies.
Furthermore, the personal trainer, Courtney Goeas, has exacerbated the situation by providing misleading information to authorities when questioned.
Due to these unprofessional actions and a lack of decorum befitting a gym of this standard, I cannot recommend Courtney Goeas or her boyfriend, the chiropractor at this LifeTime location. Additionally, I am dissatisfied with how the management chose to address these concerns.
Update:
I have been alerted that this review is seemingly a problem for the above named personal trainer. She is asking her clients to ask me to remove this review. She seems to continue to engage in behaviors I find inappropriate, even several months after the incident, which contribute to a contentious environment around her instead of focusing on self improvement. I would also wonder at what point does this constitute as harassment.
To me, all of this is indicative of her inability to handle constructive criticism to hopefully improve her services and the gym’s overall atmosphere which should be a safe and welcoming environment and ultimately what I’d think she would place as her highest priority while working at Life Time.

why do y’all take a basketball court for the kids day care, when you already took away two from pickleball? Sometimes they don’t even use the hoop. I mean there is a ton of kids but that room where they workout and stuff is pretty open (to the right of the court), and y’all barely use it.
You got more people hooping than doing whatever workouts they do in the big room next to the courts.
Outside of that, good facility. lifetime has everything I could think of for a gym.

Went to the pool and the lifeguards always have horrible attitudes. Today they closed the pool 2 hours early with no warning and were more rude than usual kicking families with small children out pretty aggressively. You don’t expect to be treated this way when you pay hundreds of dollars a month for a family membership but that seems to be reflective of the quality of employees that are hired here. Cancelling our membership at the end of the month, simply not worth it.

This Allen location is better than Plano, but only to an extent.
Broken hot tub is something I’ve heard from others there that has been broken for months and never fixed.
No towels available. You seem them folding towels but the never put it in the locker room.
Didn’t look really clean when I went there.
Overall I’ve visited 3 different locations and they were all less than perfect.
And at the sky high prices they charge I would recommend you to find another gym if you’re reading this.
Just look at other reviews. I’m not alone in the mindset that prices sky rocket and quality and experience plummets.
In 2008 lifetime used to be 24 hours. Today they didn’t away with that.
They used to be very clean. You literally would see staff actively cleaning multiple times a day. Today that doesn’t happen.
They used to keep their buildings in order today most have equipment issues and problems.
They used to have ample staff around. Today, nearly all locations are under staffed.
Should be a 1 star rating but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. And taking into account that they are in a better shape (to some extent) in the condition of the building.
But does it justify the price hikes? No way what so ever. They are drying out wallets out there and not giving people what they pay for.
I my self just recently restarted my membership but I’m considering cancelling. Going to a cheaper gym. Won’t be lifetime quality but at least it’ll have a justified price.
For example there is another gym near by that’s 89 a month. This life time is worse than the cheaper gym but at least the other gym has a price that is justified with what they offer.
Life time should lose customers just to make a point to their corporate to get their account together and bring back the gym they used to be.
Bring back better prices and better gyms.

If (being a member) we still have to pay for playing Pickleball, there are many courts available outside. What's the point of being member anymore.

I would not join again. Joined for pickleball and all was well for two months. I could go and play, and always find a game just about anytime of day. Facility was perfect for two months. They would fill up occasionally but could still get a game daily.
This week they changed the times for pickleball with no notice. Removing almost 80% of the open play slots or restricting them by age, level, ect.
Now I am unable to play with the new highly restricted schedule and still have to pay them $200 for the next month even though courts will not be available to me.
Felt like it was a reasonable request to cancel my membership without having to pay for next month since they are the ones that made the gym unavailable to me.
I have spoke to corporate and they are unwilling to do anything and said I must pay the $200 to cancel even though I had no say or notice of schedule changes. Don’t think that is the right way to treat your members IMO.

Aisha was very helpful facilitating my understanding of location access at different membership levels, demonstrating single use locker combinations that have been put in place, and answering my question about membership holds when out of town for an extended time. I was able to resume the swimming I love soon after on the same day. In the locker room, I was pleasantly surprised to see glass door upgrades to the showers and was glad maintenance schedules were posted clearly communicating facility use changes. This allows for planning appropriately when using the guest passes allotted each month. I will only bring guests when I can show off my favorite things. I was also thankful for the flexibility of the swim coach in allowing use of reserved lap lanes while his need was not 100% yet and another patron was using the only lane left open. This corresponds to what I expect from a higher tier fitness center when those with memberships have tight schedules but still prioritize health and fitness.

Crazy pay $200 plus a month and there are no courts open because they use it for kids yet have a full pickle ball court they can use. Definitely gonna stop coming here and reevaluate paying these outrageous fees when I only signed up so I could play basketball. I guess this place is a giant day care. If you’re an adult here paying $200 month you have less access than the kids do.

This review is for Coach Courtney Goeas at Allen Lifetime Gym. I do various workouts ranging from HIIT to power lifting to cycling, which caused me to have tight muscles. I have been looking for a stretch specialist and tried out various places like StretchLab and other stretch flexologists at Plano and Frisco Lifetime. I found Courtney through a 30 min complementary stretch session that Lifetime offers at the Allen location and she's the absolute best! She really knows how to work the body and I feel so flexible and mobile after my session with her. Highly recommend if you are looking for a personal trainer or some recovery/rest day stretch sessions! She does both.

Be very careful with these guys. From what I can tell, they’re not very honest. They see dollar signs, not people.
We’ve been members for years. We brought on my mom-in-law while she was visiting from out of country. We made clear to staff that it would be a very temporary addition. We now suffer a $100 hike in dues, some months after my mom-in-law returned home! They used the opportunity to nix our grandfathered rates, having been made aware up front that it would be a very temporary change. Yet they did not even mention that it might be in our best interest just to set up a separate account for my mom-in-law!
Yeah, fraudsters. There isn’t much lower that a company could go. Jorge (GM) and Shelby will pass the blame, talking about “rack rates,” nearby gym pricing, and corporate. But call corporate, and they’ll send you right back to Jorge. As Stephanie at Craig Ranch put it, ultimately it’s the home gym’s “bottom line”; it’s their decision how to structure pricing.
So go set up under another gym. Even spend a bit more. Find a GM who will deal honestly, because Jorge apparently won’t. I’m the victim in this case - don’t do the same.

I can’t allow my boy to go to men’s showers alone, he is too young. But they also don’t allow me to go to women’s showers with him! And they don’t provide alternative way to have a shower in this case!

I’m a regular at Lifetime on Greenway Plaza in Houston, but since I was visiting my parents in Plano, I decided to stop by this location to get a work out in.
I understand that equipment are hard to come by during peak hours, but never have I experienced a trainer denying me a squat rack that was NOT BEING USED because he had an ongoing class. Meanwhile, during that hour class, 3 squat racks were empty the entire time and he STILL shooed people away.
I know that classes are based off of reserved spots. How about y’all condense the area so that class goers are together? I suggest blocking off racks with “RESERVED FOR — CLASS” instead of sealing off the ENTIRE area with NO SIGNAGE. This is used at the Greenway Plaza Lifetime, and it works great. Trainers get their spots for their class, and the remaining squat racks can be used freely by other gym goers.
I was completely offended to have that bald trainer direct me away. I pay too much money to be denied equipment, and it doesn’t make sense to me because it wasn’t being used. Please hire people with better common sense and more tact. This location really gave me the ick after that experience.

I saw this overweight trainer with glasses and a huge gut that shouldn’t be telling people how to get healthy video taping this gorgeous and really fit chick that clearly knows what she was doing and then criticize her form with his clients. Invasive and highly unethical. Lifetime should fire him for his behavior and he clearly didn’t even know what he was talking about and gonna get people hurt. Lifetime has really gone downhill since it opened.

Too many fat trainers that don’t know what they are doing and criticize people that have been trained by elite trainers. I guess the fat trainers like to make themselves look good to skinny chicks that don’t have a single clue what to do around weights. They need trainers that are certified. Most don’t seem certified at all with their methods.

I appreciate the positive aspects of Lifetime Allen. My family has been part of the community for over two years, enjoying a healthier lifestyle through various classes. My intention here is not to cause discomfort or trouble but to address issues that concern me. If they can improve, that will benefit my family and the whole community by increasing professionalism.
My son's enrollment in swimming classes was motivated by a desire for him to learn in a safe and supportive environment. Regrettably, my experience has unveiled concerning lapses in class organization, safety standards, and communication.
I initially reached out about the possibility of adjusting the class time due to evolving work commitments and my son's upcoming after-school activities. Despite my genuine concerns, there was no effort to explore alternative solutions that could have helped both my family and the class schedule.
My paramount concern is the consistent disregard for class size limits. I raised this issue after the class exceeded its limit on August 15th, with five children present instead of the designated three. This raised questions about the quality of instruction and the safety of the children, even with two instructors present.
Shockingly, the same issue recurred on August 25th, just two weeks later. The class once again had more participants than the specified limit, reflecting a concerning pattern of oversight. I want to emphasize that my intention in bringing up these concerns is to uphold the safety of the children and ensure a valuable learning experience.
Despite discussing these concerns with the management team after the initial incident, it is deeply disheartening to see the issue persist. As someone who values the Lifetime community, it's difficult to witness a lapse in attention to these fundamental aspects of class management.
I had initially planned to continue the classes until September, but the consistent issues and a perceived lack of professionalism have led me to cancel. It's disheartening to feel that my family's presence is no longer valued, especially when I believe in the potential of Lifetime to provide a positive environment.
My hope is that this feedback will encourage necessary improvements in class management, adherence to safety regulations, and a more proactive approach to addressing concerns. The trust parents place in facilities like Lifetime is significant, and I believe these concerns should be addressed to ensure that trust is upheld.

Rules for some...not for all.
Was told a few weeks ago I wasn't allowed to bring a gym bag on the gym floor. Since then I have seen 4 or 5 ladies that work out bring large gym backs on the gym floor each morning. Sometimes they are even hanging out with one or two of the guy trainers.
I get it. Rules for regular members but if you giggle and flirt with the guy trainers you can do what you want. Didn't expect this at a high priced gym. Either enforce the rules across the board or not at all.

Unacceptable situation considering the monthly charges
I have been at this gym long enough now to leave a review. Those giving it five stars and talking about certain things need to consider the prices you are paying.
$200 a month gets you in the door. The gym itself is no different than any other big box gym. Anyone who says they have better equipment hasn't been to other gyms in the last ten years. It's all the same when you are dealing with the big gym companies.
Everything else is going to cost you more. Classes..pickle ball…personal training. Include in the $200 haha you must be joking. You are getting much better locker rooms and sauna spa then most gyms but understand you are paying at least $150 more a month for better locker rooms and suana. If you go 15 times a month is it worth ten bucks a visit?
So let me mention the issue that takes them from three stars to one. I'll admit being over priced will only knock you down to three stars as people can decide for themselves if $200 is worth it. Three times in the last four months this gym has switched the women's and men's locker rooms temporarily while they " repair" something in the women's locker room. I've been told this time it will be for a week or so. This gym is not open 24 hours so the ideal situation would be to repair when closed. Nope…they obviously do not want to spend the premium price on repairs so pass the inconvenience onto the customers. The men's locker room is not equipped to handle 30 to 40 women in it at a time. I mean unless the women want to use the urinals. Plus it's very uncomfortable to walk in and head to the dressing rooms only to be told by someone they have been switched today. The first time it happened I walked into the men's and was told it was the women's today. This is totally bananas for a club that charges 200 plus a month.

I wanted to share my recent experience with the Allen Lifetime Center, and I hope that by doing so, we can encourage a fair resolution to the issue I encountered.
A few weeks ago, I made a simple request to remove my daughter from my membership at the Allen center. To my surprise, not only did they terminate her access as requested, but they also increased my monthly membership fee without any prior notification or explanation. Additionally, they also lower my membership lever by my ended my access to the Frisco center, which was previously included in my membership, has been unexpectedly revoked. (First and foremost, it is important to clarify that my own monthly payment for my membership was not a discounted group rate that included my daughter.) and They DID NOT SAY A SINGLE WORD about these changes!
As members, I enter into a commitment with the center, trusting that our membership benefits and fees will be handled with integrity and transparency. However, my recent experience has left me questioning this trust.
I am disappointed by the lack of transparency and customer service in this situation. When I removed my daughter from my account, I expected a smooth process without any negative impact on my own membership benefits. Unfortunately, this has not been the case.
I have already reached out to the Allen Lifetime Center management, expressing my concerns and seeking a resolution. However, I am still awaiting a satisfactory response.
Follow up:
After discussing with the concierge manager, I decided to revise my account by adding my daughter back and paying the previous price for access. I agreed with this solution because I didn't want to waste time or disrupt my routine. Additionally, I've had positive interactions with some of their employees, which further solidifies my decision.
Here are some important tips to keep in mind: Lifetime has implemented some negative changes to their membership policies. When adding or removing members from your account, be cautious as any modifications can lead to unexpected price increases. For instance, let's say you pay $200 for yourself (without any discounts or group/family rates) and then add your son for an additional $100. This would make your total payment $300. However, if you later remove your son, you might face a new price that could be higher than your initial amount. Unfortunately, the center doesn't inform you about these potential changes when adding or removing members, making it a tricky situation to navigate.
I joined Lifetime around 2020 and have since met many friends who are also members. Therefore, I have a clear understanding of the payment structure in this area and what qualifies as a discounted price. Over the past few years, the monthly fee for a Lifetime membership has consistently doubled without significant improvements to their facilities and services. Nevertheless, I accepted the price because I want to see Lifetime grow and thrive. I hope they also take their members' feedback seriously.
That's my story so far! I plan to share it with all my friends and on various social platforms.

I’ll start by saying I gave Lifetime 5 stars because of Josh’s Dance Jam class on Saturday mornings. It’s high intense, fun, and such a great workout. We all love how great of an instructor that Josh is. He’s literally the only reason I pay for this expensive membership. I also love the fact that Lifetime has a steam room that actually works. Most gyms now a days don’t have a steam room and it really helps my body post workout. The pool is great and the kids club treats my child with care. The biggest downfall is that Lifetime is over priced. It keeps getting more and more expensive in my opinion for no reason. For example, studio 1 does not have working AC still, and these cost should mean the facility is top notch at all times. Again, I only pay because of Josh and his class doesn’t have AC. That’s wild.

The towel service is not even able to be used since so many towels are old, have hair and stains on them. The hours are no longer 24/7, or maybe they haven’t been for a long time. And the front desk associate, Hunter, has been rude and unwelcoming on multiple occasions. Canceling membership this month finally after 11 years. Going to John Reed for much less.

Today was a very scary day for me, but I'd like to thank a few Lifetime Fitness employees and other gym-goers. I was doing my normal workout routine and I popped my back setting down some weight. I was in severe pain and tried to stretch out my back a few times, but that didn't work. I sat down on the bench and I started to feel very light-headed; I looked over to my left and saw Clark Jeffrey (one of the trainers) and then I collapsed to the floor. Within a few seconds I had regained consciousness and then fainted a second time. Clark and other gym-goers immediately put me flat on my back with my legs elevated on the bench. Once I regained my consciousness I saw another trainer Zach Powell come over with a defibrillator. The general manager Jorge Hernandez and others were comforting me asking me questions as I regained my color. Even though I was able to walk out of the gym today under my own two feet I was so grateful for the amazing staff at Lifetime Fitness Allen and the Allen FD/EMS for saving my life today.

I often come to this gym because I travel back and forth frequenty between Dallas and Colorado and since I am a Lifetime member in CO just easier to use a gym I am a member at. I find the gym to be clean and the front desk is very polite and accomodating to members. The locker rooms are always stocked with fluffy towels and the showers are clean and devoid of hair which is always a plus. My beef is with the aquatic area. The 25 yard pool is kept at a very cold temperature and so cold that on my last visit I ended up getting really sick. It has to be at about 77-78 degrees which is by no means warm. I am tiny so have no body fat which makes it doubly hard. Then there is an alternative which is a leisure pool that is super short and the chlorine level is off the charts high. I itch constantly while I am swimming in here and once I get out for hours afterwards. So they have no idea how to manage pools. Furthermore almost always one of the hot tubs is out of order and in general they do not look very clean. I also witnessed one night, 2 kids under I would say 10, throwing a very hard ball from one end of the entire pool to where the laps lanes are. I was afraid I was going to be hit and literally had to tell the lifeguard to ask them to stop doing this. You would think he would know other patrons are present, but he just sat there oblvious to the situation. I am thinking in future visits I will find another pool to swim at. I do also use the treadmills and weights and I don't find the weight room floor very clean and some of the treadmills don't always work properly. So all in all they have a lot of work to do. I never see the GM,Jorge walk around as he only sits at his desk. A GM should hardly ever be at his desk, but out and about seeing how the gym is operating.

I’ve been a member for at least 10 years. Here’s what I don’t like about this gym and I turned in a report about it at the beginning of 2022 but not sure it was given any importance or credence.
1) women’s locker room has been ridden hard and needs to be managed better. The lockers are awful for several reasons. Less than 50% of lockers are even usable because patrons will take the keys home to the nicer lockers not allowing the lockers to be available for everyone. This is a vicious cycle which is propagated by mismanagement. I’ve including pictures. When I’ve inquired about lockers not being available I was told that they don’t have anymore keys to the missing lockers. This needs to stop. It’s worse at the 121/Lake Forest location than any other location.
2) the toilet area has stainless steel diving walls but they needed to be retired and laid to rest about 8 years ago, at least. I’ve included pictures. I have mentioned this to management in a formal writing with pictures attached and again not a single thing has been done.
3) there have been a few locker doors replaced but coincidentally they all have missing keys because somebody stole the keys to keep it for their own private use. I’ve attached a picture of this too. Also, part of the vicious cycle of maintaining a locker room which is accessible to its paying members.
4) my monthly cost has increased 57% in my 10 years as a member but I have fewer group classes offered that I like to take. My amenities have decreased with the decreased hours of operation. I work a job where working out at 2 in the morning is more amenable to my schedule but I can no longer do that. There is pickle ball now, a few more gym toys and new tile around the locker room vanity mirrors.
5) one of the nasty toilets has been out of service for a long time and the available use date keeps getting extended. I’ve included a photo of that too.

The place is clean, elaborate and comprehensive. It has pretty much anything you can think of, when it comes to physical fitness. But many of their machines are old and clanking. It is highly overpriced especially if you are not the type who wants to use 'all' the facilities. They need to tier their pricing to make it more attractive. This one size fits all approach may not be the best option.
