I’ve been going to this rock climbing gym for years and I can’t say enough good things about this place. The whole community here is very friendly and welcoming. You’ll be able to ask experts for tips and they’ll be more than happy to share that with you.
The staff here is also amazing and very friendly. Just ask anything and they’ll help.
The walls are also really amazing as they have everything from beginners level to expert and they change up the walls all the time. This also goes for the bouldering walls on the second floor.
The bathrooms are also super nice with lockers and even a dry sauna. It’s also very clean.
They also have a weight training area which is super professional and will bar everything you need including cardio.
If you are looking for a rock climbing gym this will be the best place to go

This is hands down one of the best rock-climbing facilities around, but the weightlifting area is very limited. Since it’s advertised as both a gym and climbing facility, it feels like a missed opportunity not to make the fitness side more complete.
It wouldn’t take much — just a few additional machines or upgrades — to make the gym satisfactory for most lifters. Right now, I can’t afford paying for a membership here and another gym just to get a good lift, so I have to choose a weightlifting gym instead.
Simply put, a small investment into more lifting equipment could earn my business and the business of many other lifters who would also like to climb. Would also be fantastic for helping convert some devout lifters to the sport.

Absolutely phenomenal climbing gym!!!!
It is absolutely saying the art and Francisco and Lin let us in our first time and treated my best friend and I like royalty!
The Rockland wall is phenomenal, and it's caters to all experience levels.
This is my new favorite place in Dallas and I will absolutely be coming for all the events including queer night! I am so happy that this great place opened!

Genuinely the nicest climbing gym I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to movements in Colorado. This facility had a plethora of amenities and a bunch of boulders. Shoutout to the setters I didn’t feel like the grading was soft.

We went to Movement Climbing Gym today and had such a great experience. Lynn was super helpful in walking us through all the membership options and helped us pick the one that fit us best - very easy to talk to and just gave off positive vibes.
Shelby also helped me find the right climbing shoes. She was so thorough, showed me different options, and gave great suggestions, which really helped since I’m new to climbing. I’m honestly so thankful for her patience and guidance.
The front desk/ customer service overall was amazing. The gym itself is super clean, has a great vibe, and comes with a nice mix of yoga, exercise equipment, bouldering walls, and rope walls. They don’t have auto-belay, but overall it’s a really solid gym and I’d definitely recommend it.

Go here. This place is an impressive facility but also an exceptional community.
I lost my bag as I was moving through the gym climbing. I just misplaced it but when I couldn’t find it I was worried.
Fortunately, Michael at the front desk had my back. He worked diligently to help me.
Also, they were really good helping me understand which shoes to buy. Shout out Rashad.
First time in. Super impressed.

The facility is amazing, definitely the best movement gym when it comes to equipment, size, cleanliness, and especially top ropes. The front desk staff were super nice but they never really came to check on us when we were climbing. The setting was definitely more intricate and thoughtful of different boxes than other movement gyms in my opinion

This place is where the workout humbles you fast—looked easy, turned out brutal.
The space is massive, music’s on point, and the energy’s high. But the intro was so quick we barely knew what to do at first. Once you catch on, though, it’s solid. Only gripe? The place is drowning in woke flags—felt more like a political statement than a gym vibe.

The climbing at this gym is excellent, and it’s been a great place to train and spend time. However, I’m uncomfortable with the gym’s policy that allows men into the women’s bathrooms. While the intention may be to support inclusivity — which is important — the gym already provides non-gender-specific restrooms for that purpose.
Adding signage that explicitly welcomes men into the women’s space feels inappropriate, especially considering how family-oriented the environment is and how many children regularly use the facility. It’s reasonable to expect that certain spaces remain reserved for women, particularly when alternatives are already available.
This policy undermines a sense of privacy and comfort for many members. I hope the gym reconsiders how it’s handling this and finds a better balance between inclusivity and maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Five stars to the only gym in Dallas that truly gets me.
I don’t come here to climb. I come here to condition my hair with a product that smells exactly like a fresh box of Crayons.
It’s nostalgic. It’s comforting. It’s vaguely unsettling in the best possible way. I step out of the shower smelling like repressed childhood creativity and glue-eating memories.
Honestly? I haven’t sent a route in weeks. I just show up, shower, and leave feeling emotionally moisturized.
10/10. Would lather again.

Came to Dallas from Florida on a day trip and knew I had to visit a climbing gym here. Decided to go to Movement due to the cheaper day pass. I was immediately greeted by Dylan who was truly outstanding and gave me the best Texas hospitality I could ever have asked for! This was just an amazing beginning to an amazing time I had at the gym. The gym has both top rope (with really huge walls) and bouldering. I only boulder but the bouldering area is huge with really good setting. There’s even an outdoor patio area on the second floor where there’s a slackline setup with a gorgeous view of downtown Dallas. The amenities here at this gym were amazing, a full gym with benches, dumbbells, and squat racks with bumper plates, yoga room, sauna, showers, and 2 board systems (kilter and tension) with a hardboard training area. If I lived here in Dallas I would 1000% get a membership. This a truly a 1 stop gym/climbing gym. Just want to give another shout out to Dylan for going above and beyond and making my first visit to the gym memorable!

My first time climbing, and took the introduction class (ropes) with Michael. I had been nervous prior to the class, but by the end felt confident enough to make it to the top. He highlighted safety features, had demonstrations, and coached us the first few climbs! We had extra time after the class to explore the facility on our own. It was really nice, clean vibes, and surface parking was adequate and safe. Would return, and recommend classes with Michael.

Genuinely had an AWESOME time today! Came from out of town to find a good pair of shoes having no idea what I needed for my first pair of 'serious' shoes. Isaiah and Becca helped me figure out what i was looking for, what different models would fit my foot, and let me try on literally like 20 pairs of shoes lmfao. but eventually settled on the perfect shoe in the perfect fit. the gym itself is BEAUTIFUL and massive. more climbs that anyone could realistically finish before they reset and have 100+ new climbs. kilter board and tension board 2, traditional strength training equipment, and sauna & showers. the movement gyms are amazing I 100% see why people love them so much and tbh the membership price would be a steal if it was just for this location NOT even considering that you also get access to ALL of the ones in the area... cant say im not jealous and gonna miss it when im back at my home gym haha thanks again becca and isaiah! i had an amazing time!

If you’ve never been rock/rope climbing this is the best place to go. This was my first time. Ethan, our instructor, was very helpful with teaching the dos and don’ts. It’s clean in the building and the bathrooms. They also offer other activities (which you can find on their website).

Phenomenal gym, I genuinely have zero complaints. The gym is well maintained and constantly being cleaned, the locker room and the sauna included. The staff are cool people and the bouldering routes are engaging. Plus there’s no shirt required policy which I feel no real rock climbing gym should have. They have most equipment you would need for any bodyweight work. Also the sled is an essential in every gym which they have. I wish movement would expand to Detroit Michigan. Also dude on aux has fire playlist

We loved visiting Movement while in Dallas! The woman who checked us in & got us our day passes was so kind and helpful. She also did our lead test & was great! Would definitely recommend this place to any new or experienced climber.

Movement Climbing Gym is a fantastic place to climb, offering great value through their affordable Teal Membership. Whether you're an individual, couple, or household, they have flexible plans that make it accessible to everyone. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the classes are both informative and interactive, making it a great place for beginners and experienced climbers alike.
The gym fosters an inclusive and vibrant community with plenty of member events, and it’s easy to strike up conversations with fellow climbers. I also love the saunas—they’re perfect for relaxing after a climb—and the bathrooms are always well-maintained, with showers available for a post-workout refresh.
While the workout space is a bit small and could benefit from more equipment, it’s still nice, with essentials like a stair climber and treadmill for cardio. The yoga room is stunning, with a gorgeous view that adds to the peaceful vibe during classes.
I also appreciate how Movement consistently changes up the routes, keeping things fresh and fun. Each location has its own unique offerings, and I’m excited to see them continue expanding across the states. Overall, Movement is a top-tier gym for anyone looking to get into climbing or enhance their skills in a welcoming environment!

The building is well maintained and the staff is super friendly. We went midday on a weekday so it wasn’t crowded at all. The climbs are fun and accurately ranked. Only downside is that there were only two auto belays and they were both not in use. They offer climbing classes, yoga, and community events.

Nice space with friendly staff, love the kilter/TB2 boards they have— the setting varies drastically in quality from set to set/problem to problem. Some routes are extremely boring (with increase in difficulty due to smaller holds rather than varied movements), while they also set some amazing problems here and there. It is almost as if the setters work their tails off on two of the routes on a new set and then put up forgettable filler routes for the rest. The exact same can be said with the ropes routes, there is clearly a focal point on a few of the routes with 90% of routes. falling by the wayside (limited volume use, stale laddery movements). I imagine this is due to a limited setting team size. Also, the quantity of new sets is very inconsistent and random— rope routes are probably reset 3 times a year. Workout area is decent but there are no machines and the workout classes are in an open room with 0 soundproofing. The treadmills are high quality. This place had the funding to be the premier gym in DFW but fell short, I’d recommend checking out Dallas bouldering project if you are in the area.

This was one of the coolest climbing gyms I have ever experienced, and I would definitely come back if I had a partner. There's a slackline on the rooftop patio which made for amazing views. Plenty of top rope and lead climbing. There are NO AUTO BELAYS which made it impossible for my to do any climbing by myself which was frustrating. There also were not many climbers in the top rope area to partner with. This definitely is a road block if you are coming by yourself. The bouldering area was fairly small which also led to it being more packed. These things combined lead me to rate it only 4/5 stars because it is not as inclusive for solo climbers.
Austin, the power yoga teacher, was AMAZING! The energy he brought to class was invigorating and you can tell how passionate he is. I have been to plenty of yoga classes with Movement, but his energy is unmatched. I would highly recommend his Friday classes! He is encouraging and helpful, and the hour class goes by so fast!
The women's locker room was especially nice with lockable lockers that you change the code to and a dry sauna. It was around 200 degrees in there. The showers were also nice with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Towels are provided (though mostly for being sweaty I presume) and there is a hair dryer! It was an entire days worth of activities and then you can shower and go out to the many bars nearby! I would recommend at least checking this gym out at some point!

fyi, there are NO AUTOBELAYS.
Traveling through town and dropped in for a day pass hoping to get some laps in, and only after paying did the front desk mention their location has no autobelays, which is shocking for a chain gym of this scale and quality.
Rope area was quiet on a weekday afternoon, so not easy to find a partner (and the only folks I did see had some sloppy, awkward belaying).
Otherwise this is a beautiful climbing space, well organized, with good looking routes, spacious bouldering area, great workout facility, and nice lounge spaces.

I have climbed here solo and with a climbing partner. The gym itself is awesome. Staff is very courteous and nice. I didn’t use the workout area but it’s really pretty complete, you absolutely could cancel your traditional gym membership if you were a member here. Route setting is really really good in my opinion, and they set the routes frequently, at least at their other locations, I’ve only been to this one twice but I think their route setters work the all the gyms in the area on a rotation. The movement gyms’ routes always feel fresh with new challenges. I enjoy the thrill of really high walls, and while I don’t know their exact height, these feel quite tall. The bouldering area doesn’t seem quite as big as the Plano location but still very good. My one and only complaint for this location is the lack of auto-belays. It surely has to be some kind of insurance thing because other Movement locations (such as Plano) have them. I’ve seen other reviews citing the lack of auto-belays, and heard other climbers complain about their absence, so surely they know people want them at this location. That’s why I suspect there must be some other reason preventing them. That’s why I have put 4/5 instead of a 5/5 stars. Regardless, I’d still highly recommend this gym, particularly if you a climbing partner to belay for you. Movement gyms on the whole are 5/5 and very well run.

Came here while visiting Dallas for a work conference. It's a really cool gym and was near the Hilton Anatole - $5 Uber. Beautiful space. Great workout area and outdoor space for slack lining or working out. Cute climbing gear shop. Clean and spacious locker room.
The only reason I deducted a star is because they don't have any autobelays (outside of speed climbing). So I spent my session bouldering and glancing over at what could have been. Not sure whether they don't have autobelays because it's a liability issue. It's the first gym I've gone to in a long time (multiple gyms in NYC, Berlin, Munich, London, Amsterdam) that did not have any.
The lead and top rope area looked absolutely amazing. I love my home gym in NYC but was amazed by the walls here that I never got to climb lol. The route setting also looked pretty cool. I didn't know if I'll make it to Dallas again but if I do I'll definitely have to travel with a belay partner.
Also, the staff was really nice and they will give you a trade a belay wrist band but it was hard to find anyone mid-afternoon on a Monday.

Movement is great gym for getting into yoga not just rock climbing. I took Gio's class not knowing anything about yoga. In complete honesty I found myself very nervous about doing yoga then soon later fully involved and applying myself to the class. He managed to create a environment where its all inclusive and inviting.
Before we even started he engaged with us asking us asking if we had any areas that we are particular interested on going towards. From there he built the session with the answers in mind. He also brings us to a moment to think about what our intent for the class is, which is something i don't think about really. Through out the class he acknowledged if certain things were too hard and provided other poses that might be easier. I often get caught up with trying to keep up with everyone but with these reminders, it reminds me that its okay to go at my own pace. At the end he makes sure and ask and takes extra time to explain certain thing if you didn't catch things as well.
It's instructors like this that I like to see. The ones who generally care that what he teaches actually helps. It makes you think that not just the poses are important but also the environment created. It's rare to have someone so involved and understand what people can be capable of. A instructor/teacher who can understand, teach, and encourage is hard to run into yet I believe movement has got a good one.

Just wrapped up an incredible yoga session with Gio at Movement, and I've got to say, it was a game-changer. Gio's class is perfect for anyone looking to get started with yoga. He teaches on a special schedule, only once a week – every Monday at 7:30 p.m., which makes it a unique opportunity that you don't want to miss.
Gio's approach to teaching is all about learning and practicing the right way. He's incredibly patient, guiding you through each movement with a focus on understanding and doing it correctly, rather than just mimicking what you see. This beginner-friendly environment is perfect for those who are new to yoga or looking to deepen their practice with solid foundations.
The atmosphere in Gio's class at Movement is super welcoming and supportive. I met some really friendly people, and we all learned together, adding to the sense of community in the class. If you're planning to check it out, which I highly recommend, aim to arrive about 15 minutes early to get settled in.
So, if you're in Dallas and have been thinking about trying yoga, or want to refine your practice, Gio's Monday class at Movement is a must-try. Trust me, you'll love it. Thanks for an awesome class, Gio!

Each gym is only really worth the price if you put in the effort. Just climbing can't give you a full, balanced workout, so try the gym and yoga sessions too. This is a scam.
You guys are straight up scammers. It's not enough to charge unnecessarily high memberships and initiation fees but you guys also will hide information at the moment of enrollment.
I am a part time student, nobody at the reception of the gym told me that I must be full time student to get the discount (which is nothing compared to the standard membership). It's so convenient that I didn't get this information until after I paid $50 for initiation fee... I now have to paid the prorated difference.
It's totally not worth the money.
They are taking advantage of the situation in Dallas where if you want to climb you have to go to an indoor gym no matter what.

Excellent climbing gym but really don't appreciate when they're playing Christian propaganda and worship music.
A climbing facility that postures itself as inclusive shouldn't be playing the music/preachings of a hateful cult that's generally the cause of most of the grief that LGBTQ+ communities face.

Easily one of my favorite climbing gyms in the Dallas area!
Incredibly range of bouldering problems and sport climbing routes. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any of the sport climbing but they looked really fun. Great range of bouldering problems and there's something for everyone.
The only thing that's different about this gym than other ones that I've been to is that there's only 5 colors to indicate difficulty and each color can represent a range of 4 levels (ex. V2-V5) which is a pretty big difference. So sometimes you'll look at a problem, think you can do it, and then be totally unable to. I suppose it's a good way to challenge yourself, but yeah I usually see more separation at other gyms and I think that makes it a bit easier.
There's a free weight area, machines, yoga studio, and nice locker rooms with sauna. Has everything you need for a gym! There’s also a cool rooftop area with a slack line on the 2nd floor!
Would definitely recommend if you're in the Dallas area

Overall it's a good gym, but I've had enough negative experiences to rate it a bit low. Invited friends out and they told them "find someone to show you how to tie in" instead of properly teaching. First 2 times I came here the staff was not very friendly and basically forgot we were there waiting for them. Showed up another time and they had essentially the entire climbing portion roped off due to setting for a comp. Which I get, but after driving an hour it's really frustrating. They didn't even have enough setters to be setting the huge area roped off, they could have left some of the routes up. Overall it's just communication issues...don't rely on social media to be your main platform to inform your members of things. Send out an email or better yet, invest in an app we can download. I'm a summit member that got grandfathered in and the biggest difference I've noticed is the way the staff cares for their customers, hopefully Summit will rub off on Movement in that aspect.
The facility is really nice though, and you can clip in now instead of tie in. Lots of good lead routes, good gym, big bouldering area, sauna, etc.

Have a membership I started with Summit. Movement design district is really bad about blocking off half of the gym for "setting". The last 2 times I've been out they have been setting. Last time there was a guy just walking around with half tge gym closed. This time they are setting up for a competition and either have the climbs blocked off or there are no routes set on a wall. They only update their Instagram with information like this apparently however responsible business would dictate if you're going to waste patrons time you should probably update with closures on all your social media sites in send an email to people with menberships

Visited this location for their grand opening free admission day. This gym is beautiful and has so many amenities. The locker rooms are huge with nice showers and saunas. The gym portion of it is pretty good on its own. The bouldering walls are upstairs and there are plenty to choose from. I think the route setters did a great job as well. The views from the 2nd floor are great too. I wish they had a closer location in Plano.

This gym has surpassed Summit as the best climbing gym in the metroplex. Long tall routes that simulate outdoor routes. Large open climbing area. Plenty of space even if it is crowded. This may be one of the best climbing gyms I have ever seen.

Absolutely top notch climbing gym in Dallas. Overall it's a great facility with full gym equipment, work out classes, lead/top rope and bouldering. Always super clean, friendly staff and interesting routes. A Movement membership in Dallas is definitely the best bang for your buck with two great gyms in the area and the other amenities they offer. Also their hours are solid - there was once a time when you couldn't climb before 10am in Dallas. Glad that has changed!

It’s a wonderful gym and the people there rock! (See what I did there) Anyways, I mainly go there to work out and I chose a rock climbing gym bc
1) it’s 90$ a month and that’s most nice gyms in the area but this one has ROCK CLIMBING so it’s worth the price for me
2) bc there are no gym rats/ weird vibes going on (need I elaborate? Ya know what I mean)
And now there are two locations. One in the design district and one more north. I go to the one in the design district more often but the one off the highway near houndstooth coffee is in a shopping center so it’s super convenient to get a bite to eat or coffee right after.
The people are kind and if you go regularly you might even make some friends!

Love this place! So stoked they opened up this location. The place is huge and offers plenty of holds for all levels. Staff is great and very knowledgeable and always around to help or answer questions. I’ve been coming pretty consistently since it opened and the big walls are a great upgrade from their other location.

Space is beautiful! Well designed, great view of the city. Very spacious weights, outdoor balcony areas, and locker rooms. Still has all the perks of the Hill location with the bonus of the large top rope sections. My buddy and I had a lot of fun today. Would definitely recommend if you're new or an experienced climber.

Love it. Great top ropes, great bouldering, great gym, great staff. Smaller footprint in DFW than Summit but definitely worth it if you live within driving distance of both in my opinion!

Gym is super nice and clean. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Snacks available for a fast purchase. Prices are fair. Lots of comfortable seating areas for those watching the climbers. Trainings available were helpful. Climbing here was a blast. My son particularly loved the Crack climbing options. Bouldering was fun. Some really difficult but fun routes.

This place is outstanding! Absolutely huge with so many ropes, tall walls, really creative hold setting, and and the largest bouldering space I’ve ever seen. There are also free weights, yoga classes, an amazing locker room with sauna, showers, and towels. And good vibes and smiles everywhere!

This is by far the best climbing gym i’ve been to. Featuring lead, plenty of top rope, and lots of bouldering, with an clean new modern building with an awesome balcony overlooking the dallas skyline. Perhaps the best part are the people there, with kind and friendly staff always ready to assist you, and a kind accepting community always offering help and cheering when you finish a route. Been waiting for it’s opening a long time but the wait was definitely worth it!

Get yourself their membership deals before you can’t anymore! Movement lead walls are finally here, along with lots of top rope, bouldering, training boards and other fitness equipment. The setting team is pretty good and overall the facility is extremely cleanly and wel thought through. Only con is that it didn’t open earlier (pretty sure original opening date was Apt 2022). You won’t want to miss it!

Took a tour and it is the best climbing gym I’ve ever seen! The workout section is huge with lots of equipment, the bathrooms are amazing with tons of lockers and the sickest Dyson sink hand dryer. The bouldering section is huge and almost as big as the Hill, as well as the most top rope / lead climbing I’ve seen in a DFW gym. The yoga studio and upstairs balcony also have sick views of downtown, elevating the whole experience. Can’t wait for the opening, I’m checking for updates every day :)
