Absolutely loved this studio. I did my first class after seeing their special for newcomers (3 classes for 25). The workout was intense but the people are casual. No mean girl vibes here, and I saw all fitness levels. I thought the low volume of the music was going to bother me, but you’re working so hard you don’t even notice.

Rude! Instead of being greeted, was asked if I was “in the right place?” and told to grab a flyer for pricing, which is something I’ve already researched online. Understandably, the instructor was in the middle of a class and said that no one else was there but the exchange was honestly passive aggressive and made my mother & I feel unwelcome and like a bother. We had been excited to come by to speak with someone and that a Pilates class was so close to where we live but after today’s interaction we’ll be looking elsewhere.

Cosette is one of the best Pilates instructors!!!

I took OG Reformer Pilates with Hannah. The class was good but I was so ready to leave. Literally EVERY song was a country music song. Some were upbeat and some were slower. That is not what I want to get through a hard Pilates class listening to. It was like listening to nails on a chalkboard for an hour. I was literally running out of there as fast as I could. I believe that classes should come with some sort of notification like maybe an all country music class or something like that just in case if the people that are taking that class don’t wanna hear country music the whole time, then they won’t book that class. The music should be for everyone …top hits, hip hop playlist or dance music have a mixture of everything. Something that really makes you want to nail your workout and have fun while doing it.

I’m the type of person that really relies on music to help get me through a hard workout and that just made me miserable. I’m leaving this review just in case someone else takes her class so that they can know that she may be in an all country music mood one day. I feel like I wasted my money. I like your other location better so I may just go back to that one if I do come to the bishop arts location again, I’m going to make sure not to book Hannah. The review would’ve been a five instead of a 2.5-3.0 if it wasn’t for that!

I’ve visited this location several times before. Enjoying my class with Z. She’s so kind and patient even if she’s correcting you.

But my class yesterday was horrible. I arrived 20 minutes early because I did not want to miss class. Eager to use Pilates as a stretching tool because I lift 3 x a week.

Let’s just say I was greeted with sass from the instructor. I have never taken her class nor have I seen her before . So, I’m assuming she’s new. She was very nonchalant and she does this eye roll as if you’re bothering her.

During class I could barely perform the moves because I was extremely sore. So, I modified my movement to keep up with instructions. She blurred out “you can’t even do the movement and we just started.” I laughed it off because I thought to myself I could really bench press you. She made another joke and I responded in front of the class “I am sore because I have personal training several times a week.”

She then said she’ll cut me some slack. Like ma’am! I am trying to do the moves! I purchased a membership. I want it just as bad as you want my form to be correct.

After class an attendee asked her if something new happened in her life because she seemed more positive and in a good mood. She also said she seemed more confident and relaxed. The instructor replied “nope nothing new.”

So, that lets me know that this is her regular behavior. I’m not upset but it would be nice to not judge a book by its cover. It is not funny to poke at ppl that may not be able to perform the moves asked. Just help them modify.

I over heard her and the lady talking about real estate and I chimed in because that’s my niche and I was told how do you do so much. You must not have kids or a husband in a more condescending way. I corrected her and stated I have a child and husband.

That I take my time and place it in a positive light instead of scroll on social media all day. I can tell there’s a lot of negativity there. I will finish my membership for the classes I purchased. But I am not sure if I’ll keep my membership long term. Unless I can only take Z classes. Because she’s the best

Very fun studio- welcoming teacher and environment. Cute for pictures too. Reformer class was a mix of props such as hand weights, even some fun jumping action. Hisako was so sweet and you could tell really loves her profession.

I don’t think if you’re BRAND new to Pilates this is the place for you though- there are terms like climb a tree, neutral pelvis, feet in straps, that you should hopefully have had exposure to. Instructor helped to change foot bar and springs but if you have never done any reformer Pilates it is easy to get lost and there wasn’t really an intro to the machine.

Oliver Williams is the reason I started coming here. He's an amazing instructor with a GREAT vibe! I got back into fitness attending his fit in the park classes. Once I got strong enough doing those again I started coming in OCP. I love the difficulty level and the pace of the classes.

Was counting the minutes until the class was over.
Instructor is rude and dismissive. He dosent even look like he wants to be there. He was more interested in singing his playlist and being on his phone. This class was absolutely boring. l also tried adding a spring to a movement and he had the nerve to say "you don't need to add one just sit back" as if I wasn't sitting back in the movement. If you are not doing the movement correctly he won't even try to help, he literally repeats it 272827 times until it's right, l'm not a kid don't speak to me like that. Never been to a Pilates class where I was told I can't add a spring. absolutely insane. Please save your $$ or just hit a gym workout.

I've been coming to OCP since the beginning of last year and seriously cannot get enough. This little community that the studio has built is so so special. I come about 6-7 days a week and love every single class I take. Huuuuuge shout out to Ze for the absolute best ass kicking class I've taken consistently over the last year, she puts SO much time and effort into thinking through what we do every month in her OG pilates class routines with building up strength, trying new creative moves and targeting new things each month while also being so friendly and welcoming to her regulars and newbies. I LOVE OCP. I started here in February after my husband got me their wonderfully priced newcomer package of 3 sessions for $25! Shortly after I purchased a monthly plan because I fell in LOVE with it. Some of my favs are Zeniea and Caitlin, but I’ve had classes with over 8 different instructors and the quality is VERY consistent. I’ve yet to be disappointed. I tried the 3 for $25 promo they had and fell in love by the second class. No classes have ever been the same and I love it!!! I enjoy telling people about my experience and I always tell them about the promo code, as some people can shy away from pricing.

I enjoy going to class. I love the different instructors and the vibes, no two classes have been the same and the vibes are always different. I will continue to recommend this studio.

A plus for me is the two locations are conveniently close to my job and home. Which is a perk because of traffic and just convenience that not many studios offer!!

Honest Review:

I purchased the 3-class pass to give it a try, and here’s how it went:

First Class:
The experience honestly felt like I had joined the military. The instructor was yelling throughout the class, and it made me feel really uncomfortable. It turned me off so much that I didn’t go back for almost a year.

Second Class:
Since I still had two classes left, I decided to give it another shot. This time, the instructor’s energy felt completely off—like they didn’t want to be there. They were just going through the motions, with music playing in the background, but zero enthusiasm or engagement.

Third Class:
At this point, I just wanted to use up my last class and not waste my money. But to my surprise, the third class was actually amazing! The instructor was super energetic, welcoming, and made the experience genuinely enjoyable. I left feeling great.

I’ve been a member of Oak Cliff Pilates for over 6 months now and I LOVE it here. There are two locations, but I mainly attend the Bishop Arts location near me.

If you’re new to Pilates and don’t know who to pick, I’ll list the instructors I’ve seen multiple times below ⬇️ :
Amanda: OCP’s owner and an absolute gem. Her Arms, Abs, Ass classes are a must—challenging, energizing, and guaranteed to make you sweat in the best way.

Cory: Very kind, thoughtful and attentive, Cory teaches at a more controlled tempo. You’ll still get a solid workout, and her emphasis on proper form makes her classes ideal for building strength safely.

Charley: I adore Charley! He’s warm, motivating, and his Saturday morning classes in Uptown always leave me feeling strong and accomplished.

Chloe: Literally the sweetest girl ever! I never met someone so bubbly. She has a background in dance, so Chloe brings a graceful flow to her classes. I would recommend her if you’re new to Pilates or looking for a slower pace.

Amber: Amber is toned and ripped and she does not come to play honey! I admire her discipline. Amber is an amazing instructor, her classes will push you.

Oliver: Oliver also does not come to play, be ready to put in work, I love his style, I love how he doesn’t sugar coat, he just stands on business. I enjoy his advanced classes.

Zenia (Ze): my favorite ❤️! Her waitlist is long for good reasons! If you want to DIE and feel sore come to Ze. I really love how she wants to know everyone’s names and she talks to us during the class. She’s the only instructor that can make me laugh while holding a bridge.

These are just a few of the many great instructors. Each one brings their own unique energy, and there’s truly someone for every vibe and fitness level. I’m really glad to be a part of OCP 🤍

I’m 64 and have not exercised in 10 years, and not done Pilates in 15. I’m enjoying this so much. My sister and I joined as a couple after I had attended about 11 classes last month and slowly eased back into. We can now attend unlimited number of times a month. It’s a great deal for the price. All the instructors so far have been very friendly, attentive and encouraging. Scheduling classes is super easy with their app. Best way I can think of to spend an hour a day.

For starters, I went to this class with my 60+ year old mother. There is no description on their website that describes the differences between each class, or if they are beginner friendly, intermediate or advanced; It just gives you a general description of a Pilates class. That being said, we had no clue that PilatesOG is not a beginner friendly class.

Now for the class itself. The music selection was HORRIFIC. I love rap/hip-hop music but in a diverse group there needed to be a clean version of the instructors playlist or at least label the class "uncensored hip-hop" so people know in advance. The instructor Oliver Williams was so rude. We had never been to this studio, and upon walking in there was no introduction whatsoever, we were dismissively told to place our things in the cubby and pick a reformer. I would have liked a quick teaching session of how to use the reformer before class began (hence arriving early as a newcomer) and that didn’t happen. During class I saw my mother (and a few others) were struggling with certain movements and no modifications were offered, I told my mother to do a plank on her forearms instead of on her wrist bc she was unable and Oliver began yelling "I said on your hands not your forearms”
.
I’d also like to note the reformers feel cheap and flimsy compared to the others I’ve been on, the straps were too loose (lack tension) and made some of the movements impossible.

I was turned off by the whole experience and with so many Pilates studios here in Dallas that are so much more welcoming and quality equipped I don’t see this place lasting long. Cant say I’ll be returning to that location.

Update 06/01: I'm surprised the instructor chose to post my comment on his TikTok instead of addressing the feedback constructively. He also said we arrived late , which I have the time stamped proof we were inside the studio 15 min before class started. I hope future clients are treated with more respect if they don't have a 5-star experience. This studio continues to condone his behavior and is a direct reflection of how they choose to represent their brand.

I had a truly disappointing experience at this morning’s Pilates class. I’ve taken Pilates multiple times before and have never encountered an instructor like this. From the moment I walked in, Oliver was dismissive and unhelpful, didn’t even greet himself. He offered no real guidance. He didn’t focus on any breath work—one of the core foundations of Pilates—and spent most of the class on his phone, barely looking up, leaving everyone confused. When we struggled, he didn’t offer corrections or support—he just yelled at us for not listening. By the end, he had the audacity to say the class was “excruciating” because we weren’t working hard enough. In reality, we were all lost because of his lack of instruction. I’d advise anyone looking for a supportive and professional environment to steer clear of his class.

Thank you for your response. However, I need to clarify something important—you’ve mistaken me for someone else. I did not arrive late to class. In fact, I arrived 10 minutes early. I knew no one at the class. This assumption tells me everything I need to know about how things are managed at your studio.

I understand wanting to defend your team, but shifting blame based on incorrect information doesn’t sit well—especially when the core of my feedback had nothing to do with timing and everything to do with the lack of professionalism and instruction during the class. I’ve taken many Pilates classes before and have never experienced an instructor who was so disengaged—ignoring breathwork, offering no corrections, and spending most of the class on his phone. The fact that he couldn't recognize who it was that was late to the class, goes to show you how disengaged and inattentive he was to the students that attended is class.

I do appreciate your offer to connect, but based on this interaction, I’ll be looking elsewhere for a more supportive and professional environment.

I couldn’t recommend this Pilates studio more! I have been to over 50 classes between both studio locations & have loved every single one. Before starting Pilates in January, I was a little nervous, as I did not know what to expect. But the environment at OCP is very inclusive!! This is one of the things I love the most about this studio, I never feel judged here. Even if it’s been a long day & i walk in with an oversized t-shirt & messy bun. There is also a great variety of difficulty between the classes offered. There is definitely something for everyone! Not to mention, this studio is very fairly priced compared to others in the area. Nikita & Ze are some of my favorite instructors & I appreciate all there hard work they put in to making there classes fun, safe, and challenging! I’m so glad I found OCP! :)

I’ve been a member at Oak Cliff Pilates for over a year now and I love it! Go about 5 times a week. It’s different than other studios in that each teacher picks their flow for the month - so classes are easier or harder based on the teacher, not necessarily just the class you pick.
All of the teachers are amazing and have never had a bad experience. I’d recommend starting with Charley, Chloe, Amanda, or Cory to get a feel for the studio and the workouts.
Oliver for advanced/amped classes is the best workout in Dallas - he will KICK your butt and it’ll look great for it :)

I bought the three pack for $25 was very excited to try this studio as I have been to almost all the Pilates studios in Dallas and hadn’t tried this one yet. I assumed it was going to be amazing since both locations for basically every class, every day were booked up and had long wait list. It took me two weeks to finally get into my first class and I was severely disappointed. The first two classes I took were on Tuesday and Thursday at the uptown location. Both classes were extremely slow and I didn’t even break a sweat, I was not even the slightest bit sore the next day from either class. At other studios I’ve worked out at I usually can’t walk for three days after class. I was about to write this studio off as a bust then I tried Hisako Hanson’s Friday class at the Bishop Arts location. She was amazing! Class was fun, and challenging, she had great energy, and I was sweating the whole time. I’m sure I’ll be super sore tomorrow. I would recommend taking Hisako’s class and maybe steer clear of the uptown classes.

The workout in itself was good. Unfortunately, I was shocked and disappointed in the level of profanity of their music playlist. It was quite uncomfortable and made it difficult to concentrate. Cater to all demographics and atleast use the clean version of the song. All possible curse words were used and the instructor thought this was acceptable? Although the workout was intense, I can’t go back there if this is considered the norm. I would have liked to bring my mom or my daughter but probably won’t unless they change their policy.
Response: It seems you don’t understand the reason for reviews. Leaving a review of the business is an opportunity to learn and make adjustments. I’m glad I know I can get a refund. Music “style” vs profanity are very different. That’s why there are edited versions of music. I’m fine with all styles of music . I’m not fine with profanity. Thanks!

In the past, I bounced around town trying different studios on ClassPass, but once I discovered this place, I knew I’d found my home base. The vibe is inclusive, welcoming, and warm—exactly what I want in an independently owned neighborhood studio. It’s a diverse group of clients—varying in age, shape, size, and experience—but the environment is completely non-judgmental.

Over the years, I’ve dipped in and out of a monthly membership, and I can always feel a difference in my body and mindset when I’m not attending. Now, it’s non-negotiable for me. The rates are extremely reasonable, especially for the amazing instructors you get access to.

Those instructors are what truly sets this studio apart. They’re knowledgeable, passionate, and always eager to customize movements based on individual needs. If you have any physical limitations, just let them know before class starts so they can offer the right modifications. I rely on that support because of a few ongoing issues, which is why I gravitate toward classes like AF Authentic Form, Slow Burn, Jumpboard, Strength & Flexibility, and Restorative. I love that the focus is on listening to your body and going at your own pace, rather than trying to “keep up.” The workouts challenge me, but I never feel defeated—it’s not about how long you work out, it’s about how you do it.

I also adore the bright, boho atmosphere at the Oak Cliff location—the natural light, plants, and overall aesthetic put me in a great mood the moment I walk in. I’ve achieved so many personal gains here: I’m stronger, more flexible, and mentally healthier, and I have more self-confidence than ever. I’m truly grateful to call this my go-to Pilates studio.

I have been going to OCP for 2.5 years, since I was postpartum with my second born and has helped launch me into the best shape of my life. So much so that I am now six months pregnant with my third and am the strongest I’ve ever been while having the best pregnancy of all three. I’m still frequently working out and my body still feels GREAT! My mobility and core strength is helping to minimize the aches and pains and moving my body has been so great for my mental health. All of the instructors are wonderful and very unique! If you’re new spend some time trying out different teachers and finding the just right fit for you. My most frequented are Oliver, Cory, and Chloe.

Oliver loves to present you with a challenge! He is a skilled and intelligent teacher and a huge reason I am as strong as I am today. He knows exactly the changes you need to make to your body ensure you’re doing the move correctly. His Amped and AF classes follow the same flow all month so you can actually see how much stronger you’re getting week after week.

Cory never misses a beat! Her classes address the full body and she’s always prepping you for what’s coming next. She gives lots of modifications for all skill levels. She has been so encouraging to me and I adore her!

Now Chloe is actually my sister and you might think that would make me bias, however no one will be more honest with you than your siblings. Chloe’s classes take you back to the foundations. Her dance background helps you focus on elongating the muscles and hitting specific areas intensely. You will start her moves thinking this seems easy and by the end of class you will be shaking everywhere- it’s such a great workout!

OCP y’all are the best of the best. There’s so many wonderful instructors I didn’t get to share about! I hope my years of experience here will encourage you to try it out!

Really wanted to love pregnancy Pilates but it was not it! Tried the 3 class pack as my intro. I’m relatively active and looking to up my routine so I tried this.
2 out of the 3 prenatal classes I took were given by Gia or Giana and was very disappointed with the level of knowledge and pregnancy safe movements and exercises.
The first class with her she offered zero wedge modifications, and had us on our backs for a while. I stopped midway through as I was not comfortable putting that much pressure on my back that long.
The next class had wedge options but at one point she mentioned just “taking off the wedge” and laying flat since our heads wouldn’t be supported as we laid flat back. (Which I did not do, I got up and grabbed a block to support my head.) Among other issues.
Overall, as a FTM who’s struggled to get pregnant and finally has a healthy pregnancy and baby. the last thing I want is a class/instructor who is clueless as to what is safe for a pregnant woman to do or not. I should be able to show up and trust the person instructing. And believe they aware of how pregnant bodies could be affected by the wrong movements. Also little to no breaks were given in between moves. We’re pregnant… give us a second to breathe?!

Would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone for their “pregnancy Pilates”. Look elsewhere!

I drove 35 minutes today to come, and I was so excited to try Pilates for the first time and I book the three for $25 new client deal. It took me forever to find the place because the place is not the easiest to find, and there aren’t obvious signs. I got there around 425 and I was looking and when I couldn’t find it, I started to call them at 4:27 PM from 4:27 PM to 4:45 PM. I was going back-and-forth with directions trying to find the studio. I finally found the studio and I walked in and the instructor asked me to leave, he didn’t even hear me out, or let me explain that I’ve literally been on the phone Trying to find this place the whole time. I was even here early, The person on the phone said that he was gonna let him know what was going on and he didn’t wanna hear any of that he was rude and was not trying to hear any of it. I then called back and the guy was like oh we try not to have people join five minutes after the starting time. So why didn’t you say any of that while I was calling you back-and-forth and trying to look for the place between 4:27 PM and 4:45 PM. He didn’t mention that not once! Anyways, the instructor’s name is Charley Carroll

My friends and I loooove OCP! Amanda has done a great job curating fantastic instructors at her studio, and happy to learn they will all be teaching at the new facility near The Crescent, as well. Of the instructors I frequent, Oliver, Zak, Z, and Charley tend to do a lot more reps/ holding duration involving legs and balance, which I suck at but need! Oliver is very count-driven, with fast transitions and more verbal instruction naming positions than demonstration, so probably not for reformer beginners. I love a weekend class with Z teaching jumpboard — she keeps it positive and fun, when doing weird, higher impact moves (“jumping” while on your back) that feel counterintuitive to the way we typically move our bodies. I often take a Cori class midday, which is a good, full-body class, with fewer reps in each area, to make time for more areas worked. We all try to take Caitlin’s class to end the week, because it’s a good full-body adventure too, lots of core, and she has very motivational talk-track for to check in with your body and mind, while also holding you accountable for making the most of each move in your practice— a great way to sweat away work week responsibilities and remind you that you earned your weekend. Also, great deals for low-commitment when first starting out, thought class pass OR first 3 for $25 — but even better deals once you commit. I pay for quarterly unlimited, and considering my attendance, each class ends up being like $9. Highly recommend. See you at class!

This might have been the worst Pilates class I’ve ever taken. The instructor for Monday 8/26 at 9:30 didn’t say hello when we came in, didn’t introduce himself at the start of class or indicate what we were working on during the class. No modifications were offered AND HE TAUGHT THE CLASS FROM THE RECEPTION DESK! It was clear that he didn’t want to be there and frankly I didn’t either. Thank goodness I had taken classes before or I could have injured myself with his lack of care and attention to detail.

Iʻve taken 4 classes at OCP Iʻm absolutely OBSESSED with the OG Reformer Class. I started out with their 3 for $25 class deal (which is such a deal btw) and was hooked after the first class. Iʻve taken classes with Zeniea and Charley. Both instructors are so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful to a newby like myself. They each had great energy and music that makes the class so fun in their own unique way. The instructors give detailed directions on how to use the equipment but after a few classes the flow of moving around the reformer starts to get easier. The space is clean and organized, each instructor even places a sanitizing wipe on everyones equipment during the cool down so each participant can wipe down and sanitize all the equipment they used. Love the way I feel after each class. Challenged, strong, and dripping in sweat! Itʻs a full body workout (for me at least) incorporating legs, arms, and deep core. The reformer allows me to work all those little muscles I didn't know I had while keeping the workout low impact which is perfect for me because I have bad knees after playing soccer and doing martial arts for many years. I love that itʻs about intention/focus rather than speed and amount of reps. Again, Iʻm obsessed.

The gym is super clean, the teacher was welcoming, and the class kicked my butt! If you’re new to Pilates I recommend the OH class, I felt it was very manageable with modifications that anybody at any level can do.

They also have an amazing intro deal: 3 classes for $25!! If you’re looking for a solid workout in bishop, I recommend this spot!

To be a first time pilates student I enjoyed myself. You will definitely feel the burn but its worth it. I loved my first class with Lourdes she made me feel so welcome and comfortable throughout the entire class. Update: 1/19/24
So I went back today y’all. As soon as I saw Oliver SMILING like he not about to have me destroy my quads on this reformer machine, I was like “oh Lord I’m not ready 😖😖”. Well class, just as I predicted, I was not ready 🥲 I was shaking and going on - really in there fighting for my life fr lol. We were doing this one controlled hamstring kickback and he gone say “only 15 seconds left - you GOT 15 seconds!” I was like “do i, Oliver??? 🤧” I didn’t but I did have like 8 so I did that but next time imma GOT that whole 15 seconds okay?! Look at me talking about some “next time” 😖 I don’t know why I put myself through the wringer like this but the physical challenge and that mind-body connection coupled with Oliver’s encouragement and patience makes it all worth it 🥹 If you havent tried his class out yet, I’m not sure what you’re waiting on bestie. Get in there!

1st review from like early 2023:
So far I've taken Izzy's class and Oliver's class and whew chillay - my legs were shaking both times and they really work your inner thighs and core! They help you build strength and endurance with great playlists and I really appreciate the attention to cleanliness. Everyone gets a sanitizing wipe after class to clean the reformer machine/tools that we use. They offer pilates socks too!

Oliver's class is quite challenging so if you're ready to explore your limits and improve your endurance and strength, take his class. If you want a great workout and are still learning about pilates, Izzy's class is the go to. Overall excellent classes and attentive instructors!
