Carissa is truly God sent. She is such an incredible person and so beyond in tune with your body. I have never felt so understood and seen by an instructor before. She meets you exactly where you are and helps you to flourish to points you didnβt even know you could reach. Carissa's pilates has changed the way I move, exercise, and care for my body. I began pilates to try something new, but it quickly became the highlight of my week. Carissa is patient, supportive, knowledgeable, and always checks in with me. She encourages me to pay attention to and listen to my body. My improved body awareness has helped me have epiphanies about the ways I walk, stretch, and lift weights. I have spent years recovering from negative relationships with food and self-image, but Carissa creates a safe space to grow. Some days I come in super stiff and tired, other days Iβm super energetic, and each time she meets me where I am. Carissa tailors each workout to help me walk out feeling better than before. Her approach to teaching pilates encourages me to listen to my body, even outside the studio. Carissa provides a compassionate and curated approach to movement, one that has transformed the way I appreciate my body.

Pilates Haus virtual Pilates sessions have made changes in my body that I never thought possible. My posture is excellent now. My lower back and sciatica issues are gone. My gut is flattened so that my clothes fit better. The overall effect of these changes is that I can take a long walk and not irritate my hips or lower back and each day is pain free despite my job that involves many hours of sitting at a computer. It is difficult to describe all the details of the impressive changes my body has achieved with Pilates Haus virtual Pilate sessions. Much more than I ever expected. You have to stick with it and then you will be astonished at the body improvements you will have.

I have taken private Pilates classes for a number of years with some highly trained individuals, but Carisa of Pilates Haus is truly exceptional in every way. The environment is appealing and cozy, she is positive and super supportive, and her workouts leave me feeling balanced and refreshed.

Carissa is a class operation. Her experience, knowledge, and deep understanding of how to work with our bodies and how we can best benefit from Pilates is superior to any other experience I have had. I cannot recommend her more. Carissa is not only incredibly helpful, but very kind and patient with her students. She makes Pilates FUN!!!! She is also great at working with whatever issues you might have. It is all about getting the body moving, feeling great and confident. She is a gift to the Pilates industry!

State of the art reformers, clean, relaxed and serene atmosphere and a great instructor! Although Pilates Haus just opened, I have been doing pilates with Carissa for the past few years when she was back on the north shore of Illinois. As a lifelong athlete/runner, I was humbled by a nagging hip and low back injury that kept me from doing the things I love for several months I faithfully did my physical therapy rehab and home exercises and saw some improvement, but not enough to get me back to running. Pilates was recommended to me as additional rehabilitation by my physical therapists and doctors. Prior to kids, I had also done over 10 years of yoga, but I was told not do hyperextend or flex my joints too much with this injury and that's why Pilates was recommended to me. I did private sessions with Carissa for several months and followed her to her newly opened studio in IL.
She listened to me and is SO knowledgeable about anatomy and rehab and was gentle and careful with my hip and back but at that same time, allowed me to build my strength without injury. Once I was strong enough, she was able to work me out harder and that's when I really started seeing results. Before too long, I was back to running and HIIT classes but always maintaining with Pilates. I honestly did NOT believe I would every get back to running and am grateful for everyday that I can move. I also have the tools now to protect my back through what I've learned from Pilates and Carissa.
I have done private and group reformer classes with Carissa. And in these new strange times of ours with COVID, I am now doing virtual private mat pilates sessions with Carissa. Even though she has moved thousands of miles away from me, I pretty much REFUSE to take classes from anyone else and she is stuck with me virtually or otherwise. I had never done mat classes until I was forced to due to the pandemic and O....M....G....I literally feel like a new person after each session. I do not have my chronic aches and pains that accumulate after a busy work week; I sleep like a baby; and most importantly, I continue to be able to run and do intense work outs if I maintain myself with pilates.
I do 5 minutes of pilates after runs to keep my low back/hips in check when I can and I've learned so much, but there is something about her watchful eye and I get much more out of the different moves when Carissa is guiding me. So for me, the sessions are still very important even though I technically "know" the moves.
I am used to really "hard" work outs and Pilates is no joke - it's different than say a high intensity interval work out, but you will be sore for days (and sleep great)! I am a physician and recommend pilates to all my patients. It is SO therapeutic for so many reasons.
I really can't say enough about Carissa whom I view as a healer. She is also kind and warm hearted and wants to make sure you get the most out of each session. She has also been very flexible with my crazy work schedule.
You can NOT go wrong. Clearly, I am one of her biggest and most loyal fans and continue to support her from thousands of miles away.

The Pilates Haus is amazing! I love the virtual lessons. So much fun to be able to continue pilates with Carissa! Even though we are not in the same space, she does a fantastic job making sure I am doing every move correctly. The virtual pilates is a perfect solution for me, since I am in Illinois and Carissa is in Texas.

I started working with Carissa after a hip replacement; I could hardly lift my leg because it was so weak. Carissa worked so patiently with me until I could do the heavy weights on the reformer. She is amazingly knowledgeable about the body and about Pilates. I love my mat sessions with her, she is kind and patient. I feel amazing!
