The course is in Awesome shape, played last week and going to play again this week. Best greens and fairways I have seen at this course.

Pine Springs has become my go-to place for playing golf this year. The improvements they've made are incredible, especially compared to the previous owners efforts. I stopped going to Pine Springs due to the previous owners lack of upkeep. But not anymore...From a cow pasture to a well groomed golf course is pretty remarkable. Greg and his grounds crew are really putting the shine on this course. The greens are as good and much better than any course in the area. The improvements are seen as a sign that the new owners/management really do care about their patrons. Their carts are always running great, the practice green is well kept, they have new practice range balls, ball washers, and now they're building us new cart paths. Too many good things to write about. If this place doesn't put a smile on your face then nothing will. You may never play a better round of golf than right here at Pine Springs. That's sure to make you smile just a little... regardless of your score. Just being here is winning enough for me. Thank you Garret and all your staff for everything you folks do for us. We sure do appreciate it. You folks have put the fun back in my/our game. Best Regards, Chuck Nichols

This course just keeps getting better and better. The greens this season are the best I’ve ever seen them. I played Eagles Bluff last week, and honestly, Pine Springs’ greens are every bit as good... Maybe even better. The tee boxes are being overseeded right now and look fantastic. They’ve added new ball cleaners and signage on every hole, and it really shows how much care is going into the place. Everyone who works there has been awesome to me. I absolutely love this course. 💯

Been playing out here at least once a week for the past year. The course is improving and they are continually working on the course. Greens are great. Look forward to seeing the continued improvements coming up. Also, see many reveiws of unfriendly staff and kind of suprised because that has not been my expierence at all. Everyone in the club house has been very respectable and no problems with customer service in person on phone or otherwise. Aways very accomodating and informative. Thank you Pine Springs staff and ownership for your work and continued improvenments. The course is looking great.

Greens have improved over the last year or so. I don’t play here anymore because of the owner’s poor attitude and lack of customer service. Not only golf courses, the worst representation of a business I’ve come across in person.

The course is looking better than it has in awhile, the tee boxes still need a lot of work, and a lot of the fairways have a ways to go…
Now let’s get to the reason for two stars… the so called “pro” and the older gentleman that work the pro shop are two of the rudest people I have ever met.. as I stood in line.. I watched them comment and and be rude in a non sarcastic manner to every single guest in front of me..
I am not sure how these two are still employed by the course. But if I was the owner I would be trying to get them out as fast as possible. I have talked to several people that feel the exact same way about them. I get the fact that is someone’s lively hood. But as a business owner stand point. In customer service, those two do not have a lick of it in their body.
There is a reason that pro was ran off from his last club. Not sure how he has made it here this long.

I literally just got off the phone with someone in the pro shop. Let’s just say his attitude and ability to deal with the public is severely lacking.
I will be traveling into East Texas today and plan to get a round in along the way. So, I called to check the course conditions. His response was “Sir. It’s not Augusta”. WOW. What a shocker!!! Who knew Augusta was NOT in Tyler Texas. Hmmmm….If this is how he treats people that are considering playing your course for the first time I can only imagine how he treats everyone else. If you’re that incapable of answering a few simple questions regarding your courses current condition you should consider another line of employment or don’t answer the phones.
Thanks for narrowing down my decision. I’ll take my money to another course in the area that is warm, friendly and informative. I’ll go back to the course I played last year this time. It’s not Augusta either but it’s a mighty fine track and the staff treat you like they appreciate your business.

The course is in great shape, they’ve done a great job maintaining this course. They are currently working on getting the cart paths in better condition. My main complaint or concern is their customer service and/or management.Whoever is responsible for working in the pro shop is a joke. This course is supposed to open at 7:00am but for some reason they Never show up until 7:05 or later.Meanwhile there are Tee times scheduled for 7:00am and the paying customers have to wait for them to open up and count there money from the day before and won’t check you in for about 15:00 minutes and now the course is all backed up due to their inefficiencies. It gets light at 6:15 but nobody seems to care about making money at this course for some reason considering they don’t care about ever getting here on time to begin with.Their ground crew are always here early and are always nice and friendly. I have had conversations with the mgr.about getting hear on time to run their business, but seems to always have an excuse as to why he can’t get here on time. I think it’s a Ownership/Management issue that doesn’t seem to want to get resolved. They’ve got a nice little course here in the country but for some reason don’t care about making it successful. One other issue is for people who pay for golf by the month who get a bucket of balls with their pkg. can’t use them if they have early tee times because again nobody wants to get here on time so they can use them before they play. I love the course and love playing here but if the bad service continues I’ll be looking for another course to play regularly.Because if this continues this course isn’t going to have any customers left and more importantly, no customers equals no employment for your staff and that’s not good for any of us!

I’ve played this course several times, and while the layout and conditions are usually solid, the pace of play has become a serious issue. It’s extremely frustrating when a round that should take four hours stretches well beyond five, with no ranger in sight to keep groups moving. It doesn’t seem like there’s any enforcement of pace-of-play guidelines, and that really takes away from the experience. It’s a shame because this course has potential, but until they start actively managing the flow on the course, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I’ve had the opportunity to play this course a couple times while visiting my son. Pine Springs has basically turned into a backwoods sub-par course. For the overpriced green fees, you get 5 plus hours of golf, groups of 4 playing numerous balls, drinking, throwing trash, playing loud music, and completely disrespecting the course. There are no Marshalls to control this behavior and speed up play. The staff in the pro shop could absolutely care less. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many local public golf options. However, I would certainly consider driving a bit farther and finding another course. This course has turned into a disaster.

The pace of play here needs to be addressed. I will no longer be playing here and would not recommend it. The staff does not seem to care at all and always seems to be in a bad mood. I have talked to several other people I golf with here and they are fed up as well. The course has potential to be better, but they don’t seem to care. Go play somewhere else!

Excruciatingly slow pace of play, consistently over 4 hours with no enforcement. Groups of 4+ hitting multiple balls, causing major delays. Staff is generally unpleasant and unhelpful. Range balls are in terrible condition. My group is fed up and will not return unless it’s a last resort. They need to figure this out. Read the multiple bad reviews on this course. Do yourself a favor and try Oak Hurst, Mineola CC, or Van Zandt CC instead.

About two months ago I had my 12 year old grandson at your driving range teaching him the fundamentals of golf, etc. John, the 'pro', was in the cart picking up balls. My grandson accidentally hit the cart and John went postal, yelled a few very childish statements and then swore at him. Another man was on the range with his son and left with us and said to me 'they've lost my business.' My sentiments exactly. I have patroned your course for 10 years, has been my 'go to' golf course. I will never be back as long as John is your 'pro.' I have played several other courses in surrounding areas and without exception I speak with golfers who have had issues with this man and his attitude. My grandson apologized to the cashier in the pro shop for hitting the cart, and then asked her, 'but why did swear at me?' No answer, no response. You're getting a bad reputation.

Front desk individual is rude and unprofessional on multiple occasions. You would think someone working with the public at a public golf course would be nice and inviting. WRONG!! He was very unprofessional. Makes me not want to come back based on this interaction.

I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent visit to your course. I came to play with my husband and another couple, and while we were looking forward to a fun, relaxed outing, the experience was unfortunately soured by a negative interaction with a staff member.
At one point during the round, I got out of the cart to putt for fun—a moment that’s always been harmless and enjoyable for us. However, a manager approached us and spoke in a harsh and unprofessional tone, assuming I had been playing the entire course. The staff member also ripped a ball out of my hand I picked up the ball on the course unaware it was a range ball. I understand and respect your course policies, but the way it was handled felt unnecessary and overly aggressive. It put a damper on what was meant to be a lighthearted day with friends. My husband was very angered I wish we could get our money back at this point because our chances of returning to this course are slim now.

Visiting family in Tyler. Almost didn't go after reading some of the posted reviews. It really wasn't bad for a Public course. Some areas of the course need some attention. Tee boxes were decent. Couple of fairway layouts were questionable. Overall, not a bad experience. I'd play there again.

Just played 18 holes with my brother-in-law. I played the best i ever played after 2 months of practice scoring a 99. After we finished the shop manager, John, came out and basically chewed us out for taking 5.5 hours. I'm sorry I'm not a pro, but he expected us to play 18 holes in 3.5 hours.
The day before I used the driving range and he was super nice and helped me with my swing. I understand we may have taken a little longer but he didn't have to keep making jabs at us after making his point. He said there was 12 groups stacked up behind us, and I allowed 5 groups to passed and then asked the group behind us if they wanted to pass and they declined because he wanted me to play and have fun. That group said the other group was about 3 holes behind us and they never caught up. John was outright disrespectful and unfortunately I will never play here again. Sorry for the long review.

I don’t leave reviews often, but this course was worth a review. Booked 2 separate tee times for a group scramble, and they kicked us off after 12 holes. We kept our pace of play fast, and the marshall asked us to play as separate groups for a couple of holes because they were a little busy. We played as separate groups for 4 holes and then met up on one green to get each others scores. As we were driving to the next tee box, the marshall drove up and told us we were kicked off with no warning or reason at all, then just drove off. We were respectful, kept our pace of play, and never had anyone waiting behind us. Unreal experience and I’ve never been kicked off of a course before. I understand kicking people off of a course for actual reasons like tearing up the course backing up pace of play or tearing up the course, but to kick us off when we were nothing but respectful and weren’t causing any problems is incredible unprofessional. Neither the marshall nor the guy in the pro shop would even talk to us, we were just told to leave. Will not ever be going back, the course alone isn’t worth the money.

Played here last week and i could not believe the cost of $91.00 with 1 bucket of range balls and 2 golfers, and the course was absolutely horrible. The greens were so bumpy and patchy and you could NOT put on them. I had a 6ft put and the ball bounced left over a foot due to the condition. The fairways were so-so, but overall the course was in terribly condition. I was shocked that they are still charging full price for this course. I have played here many times before, but I will not play here again until the course improves. They should not be charging full price right now or at least tell people when they come in the condition of the course. Horrible experience.

Course is poorly maintaned and all the greens had barely any grass on them at all. A few had me skipping my ball across pure dirt. They just repaved a thin strip of asphalt to repair the cart paths. This would be a plus, but then we got harassed by the marshall for not staying on the path despite no notice that we were supposed to do this and plenty of other golfers that weren't.
There are also plenty of areas that have no cart path at all. Tee boxes in some areas look no different than dirt on the side of a road with no elevation. I see no area to really give any pros for. Outhouses are widely spaced apart...I could go on.
There are plenty of other courses in the area you can go to instead. Avoid this one.

Course design is good but it’s pretty confusing because there are no signs (except for the 16th hole) and for some reason the cart paths intersect a ton. Not to mention the tee boxes that were just piles of sand and the greens were mostly weeds and patchy grass.
I was also overcharged $20. I will admit it was partly my fault due to a miss communication between the guy on the phone and whoever rang me up but there was still no attempt to make it right and apparently it’s impossible to refund anything.

Nice friendly personal. The greens are in good shape now they will stay that way until to much rain here in Tyler. It has better greens then most public Course's pretty Landscrapes. They try to keep it trim nicely most of the year it's in good shape. But you have to get it in shape after they had heavy rainstorms this year. The greens roll really smooth nearly as well as Hollytree where I used to belong. They are the best in Tyler The golfers that don't play much played it at the worst time of the year so of course they don't realize that all the courses are bad at some times of the year. Hey it's outside and this course being on the Northside of Tyler usually gets more rain then south Tyler the winds this year were bad also and they lost several trees and lots of limbs. They keep it as well as any course I have played I have played a lot of courses all over America and overseas also. This course does as well as I have seen.

My brother-in-law and I arrive for a 10:20 tee time. We brought our own cart. We were told that we still had to pay the full price of $40 each, which includes a cart rental fee. I asked what the walking price was, and we were told $26.00. We paid the walking price and then proceeded to use our own cart. Management rode up to us at the 2nd tee and asked why we were using our own cart instead of walking. We said we would be happy to pay a trail fee, but we weren't okay with paying for a full cart rental when we went to the trouble of brining our own cart. They told us it was $40.00 or leave, so we left. I moved to the area last week and I play golf twice per week. They could have made $52/week off of me plus a trail fee, but I will not be back.
