I love this gym. But there are some things that they could improve on.
The girls that work on the weekends could use a lesson in being somewhat personable. I went in on a Saturday and tried to make some small talk after the holiday and was met with a not so friendly half ass smile and neither girl said have a good workout or anything.
The guys that work in the morning during the week are great, specifically Henley (I think thats his name). He's amazing and so encouraging! I look forward to our interaction when I walk into the gym.

I'm not one to complain but I was in there doing the same thing everyone else is there for. I went to the leg press and completed 4 sets with one minute breaks in between so was on that machine a good 8 minutes or so, maybe less. The guy on the leg extension was on that machine before I started my leg press sets... he sat on that machine way too long doing nothing but playing on his phone. I brought it to the attention of one of the gym staff and he looked at me like I'm stupid and responds with a very lame "oh really". I got frustrated and left without finishing my workout. So far that's been my only issue but I see it alot. It states on the screens all over the gym and in their rules when you sign up to be respectful of other gym members and move along when you're done. It should be common sense. And the gym staff should enforce the rules.
Anyway, great facility, always clean and good people for the most part.

6+ months of going and this place still rocks!

The staff specifically are all great and the place is kept surprisingly clean for how long it's been open. Bathrooms are almost always great which is probably the most important part lol. Basically the only disadvantage to getting a membership here (or any planet fitness) is lack of true squat and bench racks. Smith machines are an alternative you can make work for the price though. TLDR would recommend.

I have loved how friendly and helpful the staff is and am enjoying finding myself again after so many years of raising kids and putting myself on the backburner. I work full time but am blessed to live only a few miles up the road from our PF, so even with work and kids it's really convenient for me to run up the street and hit the treadmill or elliptical before arm, leg, or whatever day. I'm so thankful to my friends at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre who invited me to join them for their daily workouts. I got a role in the upcoming show (after a 30-year hiatus from the stage) and needed to get back into shape! Since joining PF, my cardio is so much better. I'm able to sing and dance at the same time (I still get winded, but it's so much better!). Best of all, I've lost weight and inches everywhere! I LOVE Planet Fitness and I tell everyone :)

Wow!! Very clean facility and a super friendly staff. Katie was soo sweet and helpful. She gave us a tour prior to signing up. She thoroughly explained what the facility offers, hours of operation, rules and regulations, and how payments and pricing works. This is an amazing addition for Brownwood that is family friendly and has a awesome summer program for teens. I am so excited to join!!

It's really nice coming in every morning to smiling faces and greetings from the staff. Staff are very approachable and easy to talk to. Equipment and restrooms are always kept clean. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting to step into the gym for the first time or for anyone looking for a comfortable place to just workout and not be judged.

Very friendly customer service, calming and upbeat atmosphere, speaks with good vibes only. Most clients like me keep to themselves, good thing too. For most people who enjoy their privacy, this is a peaceful place to work out. Planet fitness in early, accepts a wide variety of health insurance carriers, which may provide you a discount to the black card membership plan. Which may vary depending on your health insurance plan. Depending on your health insurance plan you may be qualified for the classic membership plan paid by your health insurance for free, whether you may pay upfront or not, may depend on your health insurance carrier or plan. Speaking from my experience, my health insurance carrier which is my UHC covered the Renew active plan, so when I signed up for planet fitness, my renew active plan covered the classic membership plan for planet fitness, which I had nothing to pay for it all, since again, this is covered by Renew active paid by my UHC health insurance plan. I spoke to the supervisor at the planet fitness center, and I mentioned that I would like to get all the benefits of the black card, and that I wouldn't care to pay for the plan every month, as long as I get the black card, and the perks included. He checked to see on the computer at the desk to see if my Renew Active would cover the black card membership plan. And my renew active from my UHC covered a majority of the plan for the black card, I don't pay the annual fee, I pay only under $15 a month for the black card membership plan. Who could beat that, seriously. I enjoy my black card membership and I also enjoy the Planet Fitness Center it is in my opinion way better than anytime fitness in Brownwood. Anytime fitness I paid for a 2-year membership there and I don't agree with the two-year contracts or their one year contracts, I don't like the contracts. Yet, with Planet Fitness their plans are month to month. And you can cancel anytime. Planet Fitness also includes shower rooms, bathrooms and locker rooms, including a zenful place to hop right into those massage chairs. ( You might want to bring your own lock for the locker room, because planet fitness may not supply personal locks for the lockers.) Planet Fitness also comes with a Planet Fitness app, you can also check out Planet Fitness website to learn more. Their perks will include discounts to other places too, check out the Planet Fitness app after signing up. Because believe me, your body will thank you, and you are worth it.

10/10 would not recommend this gym. I have been going to this gym for about a week now and have brought my backpack in every single time past the front desk and no one has said a word. Today I get approached by a woman who works there telling me I have to put my backpack away in a locker because it is a “tripping hazard”. My bag was right next to me and in no way going to trip anyone. I told her I would prefer to keep my bag with me and she insisted that I put in away. She proceeded to take my bag and put it in a locker. As I was finishing my set I realized I needed something from my bag so I approached the desk and asked if I could please just carry my bag. She proceed to tell me I could not workout if I had my backpack again because someone could “trip”. I told her I needed my bag for personal items and I should not have to disclose what items those were but she still denied me my bag. I like to keep my personal items with me since it included my wallet, inhaler, headphones, extra water, and so on. I asked for my bag so I could leave and she eventually gave it to me. I was waiting for my friend to finish working out when the manager approached me and showed me a set of keys that were clearly not mine just so he could have an excuse to confront me. He asked if they were mine and I said no and he proceeded to ask if someone had already talked to me about leaving my bag on the floor. I said yes and he said it would be fine for today but next time I would have to put it away. I said that it would be totally fine because today would be my last time working out here. I then asked him if I didn’t want to go to the locker to get something from my bag or to put it away multiple times mid workout what he suggested I do. He said I should just carry all my stuff around in my hands and set it down when I’m working out. I was confused by this answer because leaving all my stuff on the ground instead of inside of a backpack seems like more of a tripping hazard than just carrying it in my backpack. Anyways if you plan on working out here don’t bring anything because you might “trip” someone. Heaven forbid you have things and personal items you would like to keep in your bag. You must scatter them on the ground while working out because that’s safer apparently. Shouldn’t be surprised with this type of customer service since it is a planet fitness.
