I cannot say enough good stuff about this. Gym and I have been to all the gyms in Edinburg and McAllen pretty much all of them let me first start saying the staff is super friendly. Aaron is so so nice J Rios when you walk in they always say hello how are you? Hi Miss Mary that’s what they tell me. I love it now. then you walk in and there’s always somebody cleaning fresh flowers in the bathroom. All the machines are cleaned or being cleaned and they work I give it a 10 out of 10 I love planet fitness EDINBURG and I can’t even say enough about the spa & recovery area like no other Gym has that. When you’re a senior like me, my insurance pays for me to go there if that’s not a win-win !!!!!

I usually go to the planet fitness in Weslaco because that's where I live and I luv my gym but I do like to check out the competition and the location is good they have a great staff and some of the hammer press machines that other gyms have gotten rid of overall its a good gym 🏋️‍♀️ 💪 👍

Was very happy with this gym until today, I needed to take a shower and female cleaners went in and said showers were closed so I understanding just changed quickle to leave even without a shower and when I was about to step out I saw they did let a guy go into the shower while they didn't allow me to do it, seems like they do have preferences, reported discomfort to front desk

I love this gym but it is just way too hot in here. Today I walked in and the fans were actually on a higher speed. Thank you..Preventative measures should be taken here because someone might pass out because of the temperature and I wouldn't want them to have to sue you. 🙂🙏🏽This is literally the only gym I've been in where it's been extra warm. Staff is super friendly. Place is clean & smells good. And Jay Rios is hands down one of the best trainers I’ve ever had. Her classes are the perfect mix of fun, challenge, and motivation. She creates such a welcoming and positive environment. It makes you actually want to show up and work hard.

She genuinely cares about helping people reach their goals. I came in totally new to fitness and now I feel stronger, more confident, and healthier — all thanks to her consistent support and encouragement. I also lost 30 lbs with her. Would definitely recommend her classes!

I dropped off my nephew at this gym. I had realized that he had stayed with keys to the gate for our house to go in. I go into the gym no one was at the front desk so, I proceed to look for my nephew to get the keys, I didn't find him as I am at front door going back to my car to get my phone to call him. I was approached by a person was ask can I help? I said looking for my nephew for the key for our house. She proceeded to say "well we just don't let anyone come in to our gym". My heart just drop felt like big boulder landed on my chest. Walked went my car got my phone called my nephew in which he just gave me the key. SAD!

It's an nice place but this is a second or third time that i go and they their water is shut off. I got to go all the way back home to shower and not too happy about that. I don't live close by and I go to work after. They say they're fixing the hot water. And every time they say it's fixed the water still runs cold. When will it be permanently fixed. Not happy at all.

She told me that if I needed to take a breather that there was chairs outside. I had finished my workout and had just sat down to take a deep breath.

Manager is really bad. This explains why the club doesn’t feel as safe and accepting as it did before. He has attitude and it overall feels like he displaces his anger on members because he’s angry at other things. I just try to be polite and nice to everybody, but the club manager definitely has not learned the same about manners or empathy. I know this review won’t change anything but please beware before signing up for a membership here because it’s essentially a trap. And once you realize you’re stuck in it, the club manager will come and watch you struggle instead of actually doing anything worthwhile to help you out.

Very chill environment. Planet fitness cares about the safety of their members and even help you with any questions you have about the machines or types of work outs is best. Apparently you can't use the 30 min circuit area if there's a class going on. Even if there is a specific sign that says 30 minutes circuit ONLY. No where does it say you can use it while there's a class going on. If there was a sign on there I understand but there wasn't. I literally never go past the 30 minutes there and I specifically told her I was gonna do the 30 minute circuit and the female with the cap said I couldn't use that area cause there was a class going on. I can literally only work out in the mornings what's the point in having a membership if you can use the areas you what the only times your able to go to the gym

I guess Esther was unprofessional and needed costumer service training. My account was active but has balance due I guess was yearly membership. My next payment was 8/17.
I was telling her I don’t have my wallet and I will take care that when I go back to my hotel and she refused me to work out. Regardless my account was not suspended or canceled.
ZAID step in and told me to go a head and work out and take care that balance and I appreciated his professionalism That’s what planet fitness needed.

Don't get me wrong.. I like this gym, good for the price and usually not a lot of people there. BUT! There is never enough smith machines for me to get my full and complete workout in on time before I head to work at around 4:00 PM. At the time I am there (from around 2:00PM-4:00PM) or sometimes even in the mornings, there are little kids running around the gym without adult supervision. These kids are around 11-14 and should not be in a gym. I asked the guy at the front desk about it and he said that he will get right to it AND HE DID NOTHING!! They hog up the machines and equipment for around 15 minutes at a time which is very annoying since I need to get to work. This annoyed me and I figured out that you need an adult to be there if you are under the age of 15. Which none of them have. I hope that the workers see this and find a solution because I am sick of this.

Very clean and the young lady at desk was so nice helping me set up and get everything together with my insurance it was fast in smooth and she was dealing with 2 other people at the same time. And the room is big Everyone smiles and keeps it moving, everyone wipes down after each use, and all the TV works on the treadmills . It was nice. I didn't get a chance to try the massage room but will next time 3 hours there and didn't even know time went by so fast I missed Walmart closing 😅😂

The place is very nice and plenty of equipment they just have this young man with curly hair that speaks w/ an accent he has the worse manner I told him when you give me a massage chair please let it be separate from the person already in a chair if you have 4 chairs and number 4 is taken and it’s a male why sit me in chair 5 You have 6 and 7 available, he just ignore me, then that room was dark the lights were not going on, the next time around I was given chair 4 as soon as my 10 minutes went off not even a minute later I am try to clean the chair I have this guy standing behind me waiting supposedly for chair 4 when 5,6 and 7 were available and that’s because I am a black card holder this gentleman is going to loose a lot of customers , today he told me he didn’t have X-ray vision to see when I was done, I told him but it does take that long for me to clean and step out so you should give me at least A minute or so he just ignored me, he is so hateful or unhappy with his job!

This is a great place for anyone who wants to get started on their fitness journey. The machines are great at teaching you about what part of the body the exercises you're about to perform will work on. The staff are great they will answer all your questions and will not belittle you or make you feel dumb about whatever concerns you have. Planet Fitness in McAllen on 23rd is very clean and fairly uncrowded after 9:00. Unfortunately, they close early Friday and Saturday evenings.

The only real negatives of Planet Fitness are the people who take up various machines in the 30-Minute-Workout area so they can play with their phones in comfort. It's not uncommon to have half the machines idle with people texting incessantly while sitting in/on the machines. Hey, maybe they're telling their significant other that they're at the gym.

Can somebody turn the lights on by the free weights, tired of asking the personnel who works in the front including the managers but there is no help. Every single time they say that they’ll turn it on. And now planet fitness replied that talk to the manager. It has been going on for months and sometimes even after asking they don’t turn it on. Half of the lights are off by the free weights and when we come to gym to workout we don’t want to work In the dark. Please management take care of this issue. Staff and machine quality is not up to par. For a new gym built, they need to do a better job in keeping up with the maintenance. There's ALOT of dust inside the gym all around. I guarantee that you'll leave this gym with your sinuses acting up. You can tell that the floors are not cleaned with a zamboni or mopped like other Planet Fitness facilities. Do better. Great gym but they really need to turn the volume down. The music is absolutely deafening. Wearing earbuds is completely useless as the music just drowns out anything I'm listening to. It's incredibly annoying to the point where I cut my workouts short because of it.
