i’ve been going to planet fitness for a while now and it’s been a great experience i love it so much and the vibes from the employees have been a 10/10 everyday except this location. It been happening for a while that an employee has been giving bad treatment and attitude and i’ve been brushing it off because i understand people have bad days but this time i feel like i need to bring it into the managers attention. There’s an employee with red hair that has been giving me and some people i know that also go to this location attitude. I receive dull looks and no hospitality from this young lady with me giving her full respect back.

They are very demanding with the payment but they say it's a safe space so that everyone can enjoyed but if you are disabled and get check every first of the month and have other stuff to pay for first like bills water gas and they don't accommodate themselves to help those who are disabled to make the payment on time by the time they gym payment comes most of us are out of money and cannot enjoy the gym because they don't accommodate themselves and charge for penalties for not paying on time

Machines need maintance, specially the hidro beds and the red light machine needs bulbs, restrooms are dirty specially the showers, always have hairs and dirt ( and this is at 8 am), also needs more cleaning stations (only have a few and almost always out of paper, staff is ok, only 1 guy and 1 girl are always smiing and nice, the others have a face like they dont want to be there.
overall ok for the price, but far from a premium place.

Asked for guidance on how to use machines and no one was ever available. The 30 minute circuit always had people not doing the circuit and just hogging up specific machines in the circuit. I had enough for a whole year. I canceled my membership.

It bothers me so much that they are very demanding with the payments month after month, if they don't charge you Couta penalty. But the maintenance of this Gym is to cry. I have 8 months coming to this branch and it's not that I want to come, but it's the one I have left leaving my work. At least 8 months has this water leak. They only put a bucket for water, the showers are all loose. And it bothers me that there is only one changing table and 4 showers. So if the 4 people bathe at the same time, the other 3 people change outside in full view of everyone. I have seen naked people outside the showers and the truth is deplorable for me to see that..... Honestly, it is one of the least recommended planet fitness centers to visit. It is HORRIBLE. IT IS NOT AT ALL PLEASANT TO COME TO THIS BRANCH.

I hate to be one to submit a negative review from a place I’ve highly recommended to people, and a place I’ve been a member of for years. All of my years attending planet fitness have been wonderful experiences. Staff has been super friendly until thus far. Management has changed and you can tell. For one, I went in on Saturday to get a workout in and took my sister with me to try out the gym since she had thought about joining. As soon as we walked in, there was a long line of people surrounding the desk and I got stopped by this girl by the name Brenda. She told me my guest (my sister) had to create a guest pass account (which is fine) and I made a comment of “hmm interesting.. this has never happened to me before” (because it hadn’t) and her response to me word for word was “yeahhhh.. it must be veeery upsetting that planet fitness is actually enforcing company policy now. Thats why you never had problems before because the employees before weren’t doing it so they got fired and now we are.”
One, I think her choice of words and tone was extremely rude and condescending and
Two, I think her putting other employees information out there was very unprofessional. Not to mention, she said she was the assistant manager. We scanned the code to register my sisters guest pass and once registered she still held us back and didn’t let us proceed.
We asked for the general managers name and she said she couldn’t give out that information and asked her to write whatever she could on paper and she wrote it down on a brown paper towel. Finally, we walked away to go workout and she stopped us again and said “I need a picture of the guest.” And my sister said she wasn’t comfortable in taking a picture. She then said “ok then I need an ID” and my sister didn’t have it since she was a guest and we were not expecting to get stopped the way we did. So I asked “ok so if my sister doesn’t feel comfortable taking pictures, we can’t go workout..? Even after her completely registering and having her own pass” Then she continued “does she have her id?” I said “no” she said “then no. You can’t.” And for an assistant manager, I think she could do a way better job at her communication skills as well as her customer service. I will be canceling my membership or no longer attending this specific location.

We moved over a year ago and tried to cancel our membership due to not having a location near me. They informed me I had to finish out my year due to the contract I signed we agreed to and then they auto renewed my contract without my permission. We are nit 2 years out from the start date and still they will not close it they now state that they have no idea who I talked to that told me they were going to cancel my membership but it has nothing noted on my account. AND STILL THEY WILL NOT CANCEL!! This business is a scam!!! They want another $99 stating that I had 2 months of missed payments after the renewal of contract. DO NOT SIGN UP no matter how good the deal looks there is a reason it looks to good to be true! Because they scam their customers! Been coming here for years as a secondary gym . I been riding my bikes to this location for 3 + years with no issues. Always put my trek bike inside the location with no issues . Today I was approached by completely new staff ive never seen or dealt with telling me I can't bring my bike in. The manager Philip advised me someone could trip over my bike when it's in a corner where no one can even come close to it . It was handled like crap kicking out customers who been here for years and will probably be here years after you lose your staff. Pendale was the last 24/7 Planet Fitness in El Paso as or a week ago from today (08/02/2024). I show up today and it’s closed. It went 24/7 to 24/5 with zero notice. On a Friday, closed at 9:00 PM. It’s not even 24/5, as they claim to be more like 24/4, because of it was 24/5 Fridays would close at midnight too.

With their outrageous yearly fees they can’t even keep the gym open until at least midnight Friday, Saturday, and Sunday?

The owner keeps replying to other negative reviews “we understand the convenience of a 24 hour…” yeah if you really understood, your offer solutions, not creating more problems for your customers.

i have been working out for 10+ years and tried different gyms. this is by far the worst one.
there hasn’t been soap in the women’s restroom in 16 days. Yes, i am counting. the water fountain is just water from the faucet and it’s HOT! it’s undrinkable. imagine 100 degree weather, sweating and drinking soup water. also, everyday i have to walk around til i find a paper towel because half of them are empty. and out of 10 people MAYBEEE 1 will clean their machines after. i guess people think their sweaty behinds don’t stink. it’s disgusting! and you can’t even go wash your hands cause THERES NO SOAP!
every single day i come in there’s a new broken machine. for instance today, there is a total of 6 broken machines, 4 of them leg machines. oh and lastly, the most shocking thing that’s ever happened lol my husband and i were using the squat rack and 2 ladies came in, placed a ladder IN FRONT OF US and started cleaning the mirrors. the ladder was so close to the bench we were sitting that we had to wait for them to stop so we could use the machine because we literally couldn’t fit. they both saw us standing there waiting for them and they did not stop. i wish i had a taken a picture, it was ridiculous.
the people in the front are usually very polite, ill give them that, but the gym itself is a joke. i can’t wait for crunch to open so we can cancel our memberships.

Around December 2023, I requested to cancel my membership with Planet Fitness, and a staff member purportedly assisted me with the process, assuring me that everything was in order and my membership had been successfully canceled. They assured me that I would no longer be charged.
However, upon reviewing my bank statements, I discovered that charges were incurred for both January and February. When I contacted them regarding this discrepancy, they refused to issue a refund for the past two months. This level of customer service is UNACCEPTABLE. How can they fail to fulfill such a BASIC aspect of their job? Whether it's a small amount like $10 or $20, I demand a refund IMMEDIATELY!!

Being a newer gym, I’d expect it to be in better shape than what it was. Some equipment is defaced, only one toilet operational, and showers were a mess. Rap music was really loud on the speakers and I could barely hear the music in my headphones! No need for the “lunk alarm” because you probably couldn’t hear it. I gave 3 stars for the amount of equipment that was there. Otherwise, it would be a 1 star. This place needs some TLC.
