Today I walked into the restroom and it smelled like marijuana. There were two skinny girls vaping and I can't be exposed to that. I went out and told the male in a black shirt with curly hair that the rest room smelled like weed. He shrugged as if there was nothing to do. I took that as the end of the conversation and walked away. He then yelled out "Mam!" Super loud I was embarrassed and kept walking.

5 months ago:
I always feel uncomfortable coming because i know I'm going to get harassed by employees about downloading the app after telling them I don't have enough storage on my phone to download it. They always give me a hard time when trying to check in with my name and phone number.

I really do believe they are using the app to discriminate against the elderly. I haven't seen any elders when I go anymore like I used to. I know certain medical insurance covers gyms which is why I used to see so many before. They need to invest in a better system especially for the elderly who don't know about apps and technology. I think about my mother and aunt and I know they wouldn't be able to use the app. I am so curious as to what their statistics are on ages that go to planet fitness and how they dropped in number for the elderly.

I also have been telling them for weeks about the hand sanitizer dispenser in the yellow area not working it's really disgusting finishing my workout and having to grab my items with dirty hands.

There was a while where the AC was broken for weeks, no hand towels in the whole gym because of back order or not placing them on time, the missing sink in the woman's restroom, pubic hairs, blood on the toilet and floor. There's always broken machines. It's a mess and that falls on management and lack of leadership all around.

I am a member black card member for years, and I got towing company putting me 300$ for parking there. I was not there more then 3h and they put on my Box truck a lock on my tire! I used to be a member at planet fitness for about a year. Until I had an encounter with another member, he verbally assaulted me over a machine. I made management aware of the situation and they looked at me like it was my problem and there wasn’t anything they could do. I requested for something to be done and until then they “made a report”. According to them management would reach out back to me regarding this issue, they never did. The staff made it seem like since he was “here often”, they took his word over mine. I don’t recommend this place especially if you’re a female looking for a new gym.

Amanda's actions became increasingly uncomfortable, as she began to flirt with me despite knowing we're related. She'd frequently message me, address me as "Daddy," and even shared her personal address with me. These actions made me feel uneasy, especially considering her role as a Planet Fitness employee.

The situation escalated when other gym members started approaching me to discuss Amanda's apparent feelings for me. I found this both embarrassing and uncomfortable, especially since I'd done nothing to encourage her behavior. To establish boundaries, I blocked Amanda on all social media platforms and my phone.

Unfortunately, the issue persists. As of June 13, 2024, I've been informed that Amanda has been contacting others in our social circle, seeking information about my personal life, posts, and whereabouts. She's managed to obtain screenshots of my posts and pictures despite being blocked. This has left me feeling watched, stalked, and disturbed, making it clear that I can no longer continue my membership without compromising my mental health and safety.

Given the circumstances, I've decided to cancel my membership, prioritizing my well-being above my attachment to the gym. I will seek advice on potential courses of action regarding stalking, ensuring I take all necessary steps to protect myself.

Well, I don't understand why they don't want a semi truck, just the tractor at their parking lot. A couple of months back, you can park. Now you can't. You be towed or be booted. $150 minimum charge. Wow, now how can a truck drive do his exercise on the road. Can people understand that everything in that gym a truck driver brought it there. People want to have there shit delivered on time and don't want a truck driver to do exercise. Damm, not good. In Florida, you can park a maximum of 3 to 4 hours while you do your exercise. Not here. Not sure how to rate it because I enjoy working out there. After work I’m able to go at 11ish at night which most gyms aren’t open. However, since June started they have the free summer program, I haven’t been able to get my workouts done, every single piece of equipment is taken and it’s overly crowded. Teens come in groups of 2-5 and it’s quite literally impossible to hit every machine needed. The program last from June all the way up to August so it’s inconvenient. It sucks because paying customers aren’t able to enjoy the services they pay for. Solution would be to have time restrictions from 10-5 teens can go in free giving some time for paying customers to get in their workout that they rightfully paid for. Such a shame, might need to switch gyms.

I had one of the worst experiences at this location. I was approached in a very hostile manner by who seems to be an entry level employee and a manager.

Instead of me being approached like respectfully and with concern, I was met with prejudice, hostility and intentionally creating a language barrier. Both men spoke in Spanish two each other infront of me thinking I wouldn’t understand. I know they both assumed that being from Tyler, TX I was most likely white but I’m a white passing Mexican.

I was approached by Tony/Antonio not by him speaking to me but instead pointing his finger at me and shouting at who seems to be the manager, Manuel, that I was the person who needed to be charged.

Both men treated me like I didn’t understand Spanish and spoke about me right infront of me like I wasn’t there. Very rude, petty and had the same vibes as mean girls in high school.

Instead of being asked what my situation was, I was demanded to pay for $5 like as if I were some sort of burden to them. I currently am facing financial hardship and do rely on having the gym to shower, do my personal hygiene and workout to be able to stay functional. I also live in my car while I expand my small business and helping out my mom, who lost her job, also grow her newly found business. I’m barely scrapping by and would have liked to of been approached in more considerate way versus a rigid and tone deaf approach. I’m not against paying, I’m against being treated so poorly with shame and inconvenience to get $5 out of me. I came to the Laredo market for business growth and stability, not to be belittled.

I travel all over Texas and I never had an experience this hostile, sexist and colorist as these two men have treated me. Considering the fact we are in modern times, they haven’t updated their backwards, sexist and ego driven ways.

The manager of the laredo facility did not accept my driver license and phone number as membership he denied the access to the facility even though I had my barcode membership number card I told the manager to give me another option to access the gym and he said No!! he was very rude with a negative attitude and awful customer service.The only option he gave me was to download the mobile app and he had negative attitude.I do understand the policies of the gym but since planet fitness is a welcoming facility this behavior was not welcoming at all. The place is good. Place is clean and very friendly staff. But there are two problems. When an i strument is out for maintenance it takes forever to fix. There are some leg instruments that are out for more than 3 weeks and no fix for them yet. It nakes a long waiting time for them specially after 5-6 pm. Moreover. This place does not have a clock on the wall. most of the planet fitnesses have the clock so that you can see the time and only one monitor shows time in a small corner if it.

The attention of people who are at the desk is terrible! While I was in this gym, they put a lock on the wheel on my car, the workers of this hall asked for it. I am a black planet fitness card holder. I don't recommend this one gym.
Update. I approached the gym management to clarify the situation; however, unfortunately, they refused to address the issue. According to the person who installs wheel locks on vehicles, it is the gym staff who provide information about whose wheels should be locked, and this is done without any prior warning.

I would like to remind you that holders of the Black Card have the right to visit the gym an unlimited number of times and use its services during operating hours, which, according to the rules, are 24/7. Therefore, as a cardholder, I have the full right to use the gym at any time of the day or night.

However, the gym staff and management ignore these conditions and deliberately pass on information about their visitors to towing services for wheel locking (according to the installer of these locks).

Such actions are unacceptable, create significant inconvenience for clients, and violate the basic rights of club cardholders.

In light of this, I find this gym to be extremely unprofessional and unethical. It is the worst gym I have ever attended, and I strongly do not recommend it to anyone.

Not a good day today. So this planet fitness does has a strict no tractor trailer parking, even if your bob tailing your not allowed to park. I expected so much more from the Laredo location. Truckers are your customers aswell and since most of us are hundreds of miles away from home the bobtail semi is our transport. Not all truckers dump trash and take your parking for granted. I think this is the only gym without a scale.
I can’t believe that they don’t have a weight scale in the gym. I remember when there used to be a scale in the men’s bathroom where members can weigh themselves and see their progress. I asked a female employee/manager about this and she gave me the “no stress, no criticism, make everyone feel comfortable, mumble jumble. I mentioned to her that some of us would like to weigh ourselves once in a while to view our progress. She said that she would mention it to upper management. It’s been 3 months and still no scale. Great work out place, but. If your ready to spend $150 on a removal for a boot on your vehicle. I belive it only applies for cargo van (sprinters). That's if you only spend the night or a few hours extra. Make sure you let the person in the front desk your working out, in order for them not to call for the towing company. I've been coming to Planet Fitness for years. I recall them enforcing the rules have they been doing lately. Out of all the staff the one that pushes the rules is a guy named Tony. Very unprofessional he wants to talk to you in the locker room. It could wait until I walked outside the locker room he made me feel very uncomfortable. His coworkers do not like him. That should say enough how the person behaves. I go to the gym to unwind after a long day of work. Not to be stressed out in a place that I'm going to unwind. There's other members x members that are going to Crunch or Legacy to other gyms. At this point I cannot afford other gyms. But by the New Year I'm leaving this gym. Because of Tony!!! When it’s time to cancel they can not help u. There’s no one to call no contact support on the app and no other phone number provided except the local store. They charged me 56$ to renew and a week later 43$ to return it makes no sense and no one is able to provide an answer as to why. Overall the gym itself is super clean, staff is super friendly and I never have an issue with this location. My favorite part is that the gym is open 24hrs. But overall, the equipments quality has been decreasing. The Smith machine went from a straight down pose to a weird slanted that hurts my back. The leg press is also another one that is build for tall people, the head piece end in a weird spot that makes me extremely unfmcomfortable.

I just pulled up to the Planet Fitness in Laredo TX on W Calton RD. I was just eating before I went inside for my nightly workout when a manager (Manuel Mendoza) approached my vehicle and asked me how long I was planning on staying. He then proceed to tell me that I can only park for 1 hour and that that is enough time to workout and shower, and that I needed to leave the parking lot after that hour or he would call a tow truck and tow my vehicle. I asked him if there was a problem and he said that he received 3 complaints of members not finding parking. I asked him to turn around and look because the parking lot only had 7/8 vehicles parked there at the time and that what he is saying to me made no sense. I told him that I hadn't even worked out yet and he said that there is new management and that's what they are doing now. I asked him if that's part of the police and he said that it didn't matter. I asked him for his name and cooperate number and he told me that I could write my complaint via email. This has been by far the worst experience in any planet fitness I've ever encountered. Management needs to be properly trained in dealing with members in a professional manner. I felt so uncomfortable after that conversation that I just left without working out. Manuel didn't speak to none of the other vehicles that were coming in. He only spoke to 2 other vehicles besides my self from the time that I pulled in, I felt that I was targeted because I was still in my car eating at that time. This is not right and I hope that upper management addresses this unfortunate situation.

I go really early in the morning or really late at night, depending on how you look at it. Everytime I go, the gym is very clean. The equipment is great, and they have a wide variety of machines. The staff is really polite also.

I've noticed that the new management at the gym isn't as friendly as before, and there's been a noticeable change in how they treat both employees and customers. A gym should be a place where people come to unwind, de-stress, and focus on their well-being. It's crucial that the atmosphere remains warm and welcoming, not just for the customers, but for the employees as well. I really hope the management takes this into consideration and makes some changes soon, specially the lady who’s in charge right now should get a proper training on ethics. A positive environment is key to keeping both members and staff happy.
