The course was in good shape, not as good as it was in the spring but still not bad considering we’ve had a dry spell lately. The greens were excellent, cut just the right length and very consistent. There were a few greens that had repairs but not many.
Tee boxes were excellent with the over seeding and fairways were also very good.
The bunkers had just a right of sand and one bunker had the whitest sand that I have ever seen.
The pace of play was great, we rode in carts and we played our round in under four hours without hurrying.
Overall, it was a really good experience.
One suggestion to the course, perhaps have a walking rate.

Thanks to the starter at 1548L tee time Nov 17th we were pared with a Player with two young boys behind Hays girls HS team as it would have been slow to get in 9 holes he let us go off number 10 tee box. We made 9 holes in plenty of time and were pleased to use my PDP for the first time. Mr. Hitchcock +1

Half the greens had bare spots, no one fixes their divots, the starter was +12 minutes as of 12:30p, and they didn't have a marshall. Called into the office multiple times due to slow play and they didn't/couldn't do anything about it. 5 hour round for a 6400 course is insane for $100+ in rural Texas.

About 12 of us used to play a Father's Day round, at Plum Creek. Then about 3 years ago they didn't change a thing but planted a spike in the ground, nailed a sign to it that says 'resort' doubled the price and drove us away.

Pace of play the last 4 times I’ve played has been unbearable and honestly terrible! Especially, since there’s no marshal. Today, I actually left after 7 holes, that took about 2 and a half hours, I got tired of waiting 10-20 minutes between each shot, and the group behind us yelling and getting upset with us for the slow pace of play. Every hole had 1 group teeing off, another group waiting to tee off, with a group behind them waiting for the same tee box. At what point does customer satisfaction outweigh the course daily profit?? These 5-8 minute time windows are quite ridiculous! It absolutely ruins what is supposed to be a fun, relaxing round of golf.

With all that being said, the starters and staff are great! It’s hard to complain to such nice people.

Played here multiple times, pretty good course sadly mired by bad pace of play. Played multiple times in afternoon, one we took a rain check because of a 3 hour 9 holes one time. Just no marshal on the course leads to hackers taking 20 minutes or more a hole, and no enforcement of policy. I will say everyone who works here is friendly and the course is fun to play and generally in good condition. Morning rounds can be doable but the times are too closely spaced and no marshal leads to big backups in afternoon whether weekday or weekends. It would be one thing if it was a bad group in front which is unlucky - it’s consistently slow pace and nothing really seems to be done about it. Love the course and excellent practice facility but just hope they start caring enough to button up on the pace issues.

Update (Aug '25): Had good pace on a Sunday afternoon recently. Unsure if things are improved for good, but appreciated that. Moving to 4 stars for now.

This course absolutely hates single golfers. Want to book a specific tee time online? GFY is their response to you. They act like "squeezing you in somewhere" is some monumental favor. Trying to plan ahead as a single golfer is very challenging.

Plan on a 5-6 hour round on the weekends. Their 8 minute tee time windows gets very backed up even on the 2nd hole.

The course itself is in decent shape. Good fairways and okay greens for a public course.

Go here if you don’t mind having to pay $35 for a ride along that doesn’t even play for a 9 hole twilight tee time that’s $40. They said the cart fee was $35. Make it make sense. Then started to catch attitudes towards me and my pregnant wife, when we asked why no one else had to pay this “cart fee”. Shop guy changed his story and reasoning twice when we tried to get a refund for it. Not going bad to this rip off of a course again. Customer service was terrible and even the course Marshall and other staff were saying they usually wouldn’t charge us a $35 cart fee for a ride along??? But shop guy wouldn’t change his attitude or tune.

Update: manager called and apologized, and provided a refund for inconsistencies at their course and offered to pay for the ride alongs next tee time and free bucket of balls.

I live right behind this golf course, and I can’t count how many times I’ve had issues with stray golf balls. Just today, while walking my dog, a ball nearly hit me in the head—this isn’t the first time either. My vehicle has also been hit before, and I can only imagine how many other cars in the area have been damaged as well.

In just a short 10-minute walk around my complex, I picked up multiple stray balls, which speaks volumes about the lack of control some golfers have. If you’re playing here, please be mindful of your surroundings, because this course is way too close to residential areas for this kind of carelessness.

Management really needs to address this ongoing problem—adding netting, signage, or even a review of certain hole placements could go a long way in making this course safer for everyone.

On December 31, 2024, I had an unforgettable round at Plum Creek Golf Course, highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-3 8th hole. The course’s layout is both challenging and fair, with each hole offering a distinct experience. The well-maintained greens and fairways reflect the staff’s dedication to providing top-notch conditions. Additionally, the practice facilities are excellent, featuring a range, putting greens, and multiple chipping areas. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just starting out, Plum Creek offers a memorable golfing experience.

Long time customer but plum creek has changed played both days this weekend and Saturday it took just over 5 hr and Sunday we stopped playing on 15 we were at 5.5 hrs with 3 Holes to play. Also when I check in had to wait 15 minutes just to get a cart the funny thing as I was waiting I saw about 7 singles with carts. This is crazy on a weekend that they allow single cart riders. It get better Go to the driving range to get my bucket of ball no baskets. I look around the all basket were a just laying Around the property. I had to go find my own basket to get my balls. I get they are Busy and good for them but golf is about the experience. Interesting, The feeling I get now at plum creek they are more worried about packing in 4 people every 8 min. What is crazy plum creek is not a cheap place to play it is over 100 to play and course that has a little to no maintenance being done to it. It even crazy all the
Work redoing the tee boxes you wouldn’t even know they are new it is that bad now. Avoid this place all cost. So many other place to play. That are much nicer, some are less money and other are the same cost. This is such a shame how down hill this course has gone, corporate greed. The management company should be ashamed of themselves.

Played this course on 2/25/25, the fairways are very dormant and greens are ok very fast and hard. Unfortunately this is one of a few courses in the area that did not cover there greens during the freezing weather we had last week. We also had a group jump in front of us on #10 since they decided to have lunch during there round. I called the pro shop to tell them and was basically told they will look in to it and send someone out. We never saw anyone. This is were a Marshall would be good to have. I would not pay weekend rates until the course recovers from the weather we had last week.

I had a great day here. The practice facility is top notch, with a full grass range, a pitching area, a chipping area, putting green, and a practice sand trap.

The course itself was a really fun layout. It was in great shape! Greens rolled really fast and true. Fairways and bunkers were well kept. Despite the previous day being a torrential downpour, the drainage was great and only a few holes were cart path only.

I think the only weird thing is they have a tricky singles policy. You can’t really book ahead unless a 3 already is in the slot. It makes it a little stressful and hard to plan for, so I had to watch the window I wanted to play in all week and luckily the day before a 3 booked.

Overall would recommend!

★ 3

Pretty decent course, I don’t think it’s a $100 track though. Greens are the worst part; I’ve played 3x all months apart and the greens have always been average or below average in terms of speed and quality. They have some cool lay outs on a few holes, but really I don’t think it constitutes the price considering the greens have always been sub-par

Always windy at this course, which forces you to play a bit differently (good to help make me a better golfer). Course in very good condition. Pace of play was average. Cart service came by regularly. Greens rolled like practice green, and were in good shape; sure wish golfers would fix their ball marks. Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape; sure wish golfers would fill their divots with sand. Bunkers were in surprisingly good shape. Constructive criticism is to not charge a cart fee (or charge a reduced fee) to the golfer who walks. Overall, a good experience. Yes, I’d recommend this course.

A decent track but in no world is it worth $90+, this is a $40-$50 golf course so save your money. Conditions are subpar year round and Pace of Play is never enforced by a marshall so it will have you sitting on each tee box for 10 minutes. Travel a little south to Landa Park GC in New Braunfels or Bandit near Lake McQueeney to get your money’s worth. Unless you have a student or military discount, DO NOT waste your money at Plum Creek.

Just finished a round at Plumb Creek today. I must say, I was impressed as to how the conditions had improved since the last time I played there (April or May). The greens are 90+% back to normal (after the freeze) and roll really well.

There are a couple temp tee boxes, but the holes, while being a good bit shorter, are still a challenge. The staff is very friendly and I think I got good value for what paid.

If conditions continue, I highly recommend Plum Creek!

Looks like it was a nice course at some point. Greens had huge mud spots and the drainage had given up in the fairways. Numerous tee boxes under repair that made holes way too short (57 yard par 3 & par 5S under 400 yards for all tees). Don’t pay full price for these conditions.

Worst kept course I've played in a long while....greens were a mess, three or four holes with tee boxes completely demolished so playing from fairway, one par three was like 40 yards from the manufactured tee box. Prices were high and there was absolutely zero mention of the repairs or issues when booking or checking in....practice facility was awful, great that they have huge putting complex and short game and grass range, but there was no grass on range just dirt, putting green was not puttable with barren spots throughout, altogether an awful place to play and outrageously overpriced

★ 1

Upfront, I normally don’t provide reviews after a round of golf, but this round made me upset enough to do so. This review and recommendation will reflect my advice: do not waste your time playing this overpriced public course.

I decided to go out to Plum Creek for a round of golf this weekend. It has been several months since I last played there. The course is still riding the waves of the Covid golf boom and charging almost $100 for a public course that is in terrible shape. The green fee I paid doesn’t equate to the quality of the course. I understand that maintenance or improvements are necessary. I play golf, and I understand that there will be times when the course is far from perfect. But this course was in unacceptable condition.

The good:
- Friendly staff
- Beverage cart (2) were available multiple times during the round.

The bad:
- As with every course out there, no one bothers to inform you when booking a tee time that four holes have temporary tee boxes due to course maintenance and some greens are under repair.
- Carts nowhere near what you expect at a place charging almost $100/round. See attached pics to make your assessment.
- The club and ball washer were bone dry.
- There is no marshal to manage the pace of play, which resulted in waiting on every tee box because of slow play.

If the club responds to this review, they will highlight the weather conditions impacting the course (freeze, etc.) this year and the need for course maintenance/improvements. I get it, and as stated above, I understand it is necessary but let people know when they are booking or when they arrive at the clubhouse so they can decide if that is something they want to deal with and choose to go somewhere else. It is unfortunate because the course is 15 minutes from my home, but I will not be back.

Terrible course, this course use to be one of my favorites in Austin. Now it’s gone completely down hill. As I was checking in I asked how does the course look since we had a lot of rain the last day or two however the front desk kid told me the course is looking great. And it better be after paying almost $100 dollars for sat morning.Turns out about all the greens were under repair and about half of the tee boxes were under repair meaning were teeing off in the middle of the fairway on a par four. To make it worst, there was 4 groups on hole 9…. do not recommend going for awhile…..

If you want to pay high dollar for a course that has sand traps on greens and moves you up while they work on tee boxes. Then come to plum creek. It should be a $40 price right now. I’m not sure what’s going on with Plum.

They are now charging Star Ranch prices for Muni greens. They are absolutely tore up.

$100 round and greens were in atrocious condition. Neither the starter nor the pro shop told us that there were temporary greens on the course and several holes had patched up greens. No mention of the temporary green on 5 when booking online or when checking in. (They also sold me a small bucket of balls without mentioning the range was closed) As all the other reviews mention...these greens are in awful shape. I understand it's from the freeze, you don't need to reply to explain it. You just can't charge full price for half a golf course. The fairways are fine. Tee boxes are uneven and full of crab-grass. I've been golfing here for 15 years. The issues I'm talking about are player awareness and management issues, not course condition. I get you can't turn back time and undo the damage from the freeze but you can charge a fair price.

It’s okay. It’s definitely has less yardage than most courses and they are trying to get their greens back but still needs work on the tees and greens. The practice area is decent. It does have a nice facility inside. We did forget our speaker on the cart and called right away. But unfortunately someone had already taken it so that’s an employee issue. We used to live in Austin now we live in small town in Midwest. We would have had that returned on courses where we live now but you can’t really trust all the courses in Texas. If it’s a nice speaker it will get taken. I do understand we left it but Plum Creek should have a reputation of guarding customers property especially for as much as you pay.

Love this course, played it a few times between this month and last month and have had great experiences. They give a good discount to college students and it is very appreciated by us. I will continue playing at Plum Creek and it is my favorite place to go especially because of the reasonable pricing for students!

The greens I played on today were terrible. I have played at this course before and they weren’t as bad as they were today. There were probably 2-4 holes that had a green up to the standards of the price they charge. Also just to add, I don’t appreciate the guy in the pro shop talking to me like I’m some little kid. Kept calling me and my buddies “little“ and “adolescents” when he asked to see our college ID’s and it got annoying after he said it the first 5 times.

I love this course! I played 5/1/2024 and greens were awful! I know things like this happen but green fees should be reduced or shut the course down until greens are playable. Won't go back for several months.I'm giving it 2 stars because i like the course.

Terrible, disappointing experience from the moment we walked on the property. As everyone else has noted, the greens are completely destroyed and mostly dirt. Of course, no mention of that when booking and nothing reflected in the price. Going up to the counter and expecting some price break bringing my dad (senior) and my brother (active duty military)….nope $90 all around. How about the first tee? We show up 10 minutes before our starting time and the starter doesn’t acknowledge us. When it’s our time, we pull up to the tee. He asks our time and then lets us know they are running 25 minutes behind. Experience on the course? We spent 6 hours behind drunk idiots blasting music all day without a ranger in site. The carts that you expect at a place charging $90/round? My seat had a giant gash in it with the foam exposed. The club and ball washer were bone dry.

Played the Harvey penick golf course a few days ago and had a 10x better experience for a third of the price with actual grass to putt on. There is nothing more disappointing than playing golf somewhere and feeling like you’re getting priced gauged as a part of their golf factory with no attempt to make it an enjoyable experience whatsoever. Please don’t bother writing up the same stuff about the weather impacting the greens and just create a better experience for players.

I know it was Sunday but 92 bucks for greens that are THE worst in the area. I have read past reviews and they all say the same thing. "It was the freeze in January". Take better care of the course. Hole 5 had the best "green" on the course and that's due to it being a spray painted temporary green using the fairway grass. Played Falconhead right after and their course was in great condition even after the "January freeze". Won't be back to plum creek for a long time and it's a shame cause I live 5 minutes away.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. $96 bucks at check in and you think you’ll get a decent track at the worst. To call this place a goat track, would be disrespectful to goats everywhere.

Maybe 3 or 4 greens were in condition to make any sort of read. We had a flag fly off a pin as if it was not connected at all. A cup came out of the ground when trying to pull the pin.

The ranger then thought it was appropriate to ask us to pick up the pace while while we sat at a par three waiting for group ahead of us to clear the green…not ranger ricks best day on the farm.

The two cart girls we interacted with were the only redeeming qualities of the course and for some reason they seemed happy to work at this god forsaken sorry excuse of a cartoon show golf course

$92 round and for the shape of those greens.. ouch. The first few were just crazy bad. Some were in fine shape but only 6 or 7 of them maybe.

I really like plum creek and have played there many times. It’s disappointing that the green fee is that high for the shape it’s in. Obviously no warning either when we checked in and paid.

I wish I could leave a no stars review. We played this course Saturday 3/16/2024 and the greens were terrible. For $92 before taxes you get 13 holes with dead muddy greens and 5 holes with fair greens. I've been playing this course for 6 years and I've never seen the greens this bad with the exception of 2021 when we had the severe cold freezing weather for 5 days. They really need to fire the greens keeper. We played The Bandit, Plum Creeks sister course, last week and the greens were in great shape with the exception of hole 9. I won't be playing this course again until I have first hand knowledge that the greens are back.

Although they have 5 tee boxes I’d suggest a 6th between the stone/white (5447) and the red (4200ish)…..as someone who can not hit it that far, a 4800-5000 tee box would be a really good addition. 4200 is too short for many, while 5447 is too long for many as well!

Yesterday, we had a 10:28 a.m. tee time at Plum Creek Golf Course. Unfortunately, I was misinformed by my friend about where we were golfing. As a result, we ended up at Vaaler Creek Golf in Blanco, TX. Once we identified the problem, we called Plum Creek staff and informed them that we were exactly one hour away. That would place us at Plum Creek at exactly 10:28 (our tee time). That would not give us enough time to park, check in and pay, get a cart to get our clubs and warm up. However, Plum Creek stepped up and helped us get on the course. Thank you Plum Creek staff for making our day an enjoyable day of golf. We will definitely return to Plum Creek Golf Course.

Well it's been over 10 yrs since I played Plum Creek and it was a way different surrounding. The course was in decent condition given the heatwave over the last two months. Greens and fairways were in good condition but some of the teeing areas needed some TLC. Great practice facilities from what used to be there yrs back. Proshop and cafe were ok and the beverage service was good on the course. Very nice that they had cold, wet, scented towels for you to cool off in this wretched heat. It would be nice if they extended the senior rate into the weekend. IMHO, I think a more fair price for this course would be in the $60-65 range, not $80. But if people will pay it, more power to ya. Also, a medium size bucket of range balls was $14, so be aware. For less than $60, I play Star Ranch in Hutto and range balls are included as a comparison. WAY better course than PC. It will be probably another long spell before I come back out there but worked as a great halfway mark for me to meet my buddy from SA. Staff was very nice and friendly.

The pace of play was dreadfully slow. We teed off at 1:32 PM and walked off of #18 at 6:50 PM making it a 5:18 round. As early as hole #2, the foursome in front of us was already waiting to tee off. The waiting on the tees and in the fairways continued throughout the round. The problem was made worse by the beer cart staff spending an inordinate amount of time apparently visiting with the group before us in the #9 fairway and again on #16. The round was not a fun experience. I will consider other courses before returning to Plum Creek.

Golf course itself is great, one of the best I have played. Would give it 5 stars. However, it is the way we were treated upon first arriving that annoys me. Our foursome arrived with no intention of hitting any range balls as we were on a tight schedule for the day. We arrived at 8:25 in the clubhouse for an 8:35 tee time. As we walked in a very disgruntled looking older gentleman said to the clerk behind the counter, "Well, I guess that answers your question!", which seemed odd at the moment. The clerk behind the counter asked my son, "kind of cutting it close, aren't we?", at which point the disgruntled looking older gentleman stood glaring at me, so much so that it was definitely no mistake it was focused on me. I noticed and greeted him to make sure. He grumbled something back. I then figured out that he was the marshal. We paid, got our carts, loaded up and were on the first tee by 8:32am and teed off right on time. Meanwhile, the marshal had positioned himself in his cart staring at us and his watch until we teed off, then drove away. Perhaps he should have been paying more attention to the slow play in front of us. Maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but I don't appreciate that kind of treatment.

I posted a previous review from an experience we had with the evening staff and the GM for the course called me to discuss what happened and how they can improve in the future. After talking with Marc our group decided to give it another shot. We are so glad we did.
Course was in phenomenal shape. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens all VERY well maintained. The bathroom houses they have on the course are nice. Thankfully I didn't have any first hand experience in the sand traps today but they looked good as well. Great driving range, the best chipping area I have seen at a public course, and a good putting green. We will definitely be working this course into our weekly rotation.
Staff was nice and pleasant.

The lady I spoke to on the phone to book a tee time would not let me book as a solo even when there’s tee times available to pair up with twosomes. Her response was to drive out the 30 minutes and see if the tee time is available still and then she would book when I’m at the course. I’ve never had this experience with another course before but only this one. This course only cares about the money, not the players.

I did a dummy move and forgot a club somewhere on the course. no one's fault but mine...I know better. However, I called the course for a few days after hoping someone would have turned in my lost club....nope. To the person who decided to keep my club; its just bad Golf etiquette to keep the club.....and I really hope: you shank ever drive, lose a ton of balls, your putts end up short, it rains on you and rains everyday you plan on playing. Otherwise....the course was in great shape.
