Recently joined Powermaster Fitness and have been very pleased with it so far. Plenty of parking, friendly staff, clean, and has a great variety of free weights/machines/cardio options. The only negative I've noticed is that some (not all) of the dumbbells seem a little on the older side/worn but I don't think it's a big issue. Glad I joined!

Even though dues were paid via Active & Fit and my status for Powermaster was active on AF, I was denied entry. Front desk attendant stated that they haven't participated in Active and Fit since June. I have confirmed with AF that Powermaster failed to update them properly, and funds have been paid for a service that can not be used.

I came in from out of town and needed a gym to go to because my hotel gym didn’t have much equipment. I found this gym close by my hotel and went in for a day pass, it was $15 but well worth it. The gym is very clean, very big, and has all the equipment you need on a daily. Jodi at the front was very nice, helpful, informative, and let me know what each of the floors had. If I were from the area this would definitely be the gym for me! Even the gym members were welcoming!

I enjoy the work ethic of the staff and the experience of what Charles offers as a coach to us and other clients we observe while working-out. He has a vast amount if information to share and enjoys instructing gym members. Our daily coach, Jodi has developed a workout plan and monthly physical measurement’s to gauge the muscle density vs body fat with fitness goals to assist in seeing and feeling workout benefits. I am enjoying the coaching and diet recommendations to getting into and maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle. I have been working out with Coach Jodi for all of my sessions and she has created a number of excellent exercise routines and recommended numerous ways for getting fit and maintaining that fitness. I definitely would recommend Jodi as she works through each exercise routine to ensure that I am correctly working with each muscle. My first few routines were with Coach Charles whom I would also recommend as he made the workouts streamlined yet very comprehensive. Both he and Jodi are very personable and professional.

I've been a member for two and a half years. I enjoy working out at this fitness center. Its location is very convenient, located in Hill Country Village just off of 281. The facilities and equipment are well maintained. Cleanliness is a plus factor here. The gym isn't as large as LA Fitness or Gold's, but there are plenty of weights and machines to get a good workout on. The staff and fellow patrons are friendly and courteous. As a retired military member, I appreciate the lower monthly membership rate.

Uninformed high schoolers behind the counter. Denied they were in network for our health insurance Trivity discount plan until I pulled up the website. Then they suddenly remembered the Trivity discount plan but said it was only for silver sneakers. I asked them if they remembered my cousin, who went there 7 days a week, who won their weight loss contest last year and raved about this gym and he said no "that was years ago". Come to find out the guy had only been there since December. Very disappointed, because my cousin had nothing but positive things to say about this local gym. I guess I'll stay with my big box gym.

2nd EDIT: I have been coming to this gym for about two years now.

The Showers are probably the least good part of the gym. There is no COOL or COLD water. Its 2 seconds of cold before you get Hot water at its furthest setting. Move the handle towards off and you get scalding hot water. Neither is ideal if you've just put in a good hard workout and your body temp is already up. They replaced the shower heads which give slightly more room to move for taller guys. The pressure is much better. ITs the temperature thats unbearable.

They've added air freshener and fans to the locker room, which is great. It keeps things as fresh as possible.

The bottle refill stations need filters changed, otherwise its a nice thing to have at the gym.

The locker room does stay pretty clean and most of the clientele pick up after themselves.

This place has all the basics for barbells and dumbbells and double the machines if you use them for lifting. They have 4 squat racks with one being a deadlift platform. Wish there was one or two more of those but it's not usually busy when I go so it's not a big deal. The cardio area has tons of treadmills and ellipticals and some awesome water row machines, stairs, bikes etc.

They have gone through some management and staff changes in that time. And a lot has gotten better and become more welcoming. The staff are the best and very friendly.

The music is always good. Major plus if the headphones die or you forget them.

Pretty sad that you ban a customer that was only doing what you said he could do!! Kong told you he was bringing his training clients to your gym. Welcomed him with open arms, bring all your friends. You agreed to the terms he openly shared with you “Management”. If your trainers are not getting clients they must suck at their job!! I feel like the decision you made was extremely discriminatory and he was singled out!! My hopes are that you “management” make it right!! I LOVE all the folks at PowerMaster. I attend Mary’s classes in the AM - but I have had the pleasure to work with 2 trainers Suzanne and Jodi - and have always been greeted (and treated) amazingly by the gyms Manager. I searched a long time to find a place that feels like home. I presently in the Shred Competition and have last 19 pounds, thanks to the encouragement of everyone!

This is the cleanest gym I’ve ever been to in my life. They don’t lack any equipment. They have multiple squat racks and benches. They also have TRX bands, kettlebells, and landmines. Visiting the area for work and stopped in this gym. Really impressive! The online images made me think it was just a lifters gym. But they have a little bit of everything. Tons of high end cardio equipment, tons of single station strength pieces, and tons of free weights. The equipment was clean and well maintained. The facility was very clean and new. I was in San Antonio for a month for work, and it was so easy to get a 30 day pass! They had all the weightlifting equipment I needed, plus cardio equipment (if you’re into that sorta thing).
