This is Walt's wife: Evelyn A. Case, speaking. I am almost 82. I look forward every Monday & Thursday to 1/2 hour appointment with a trainer, just the 2 of us. We move from machine to machine. It is casual, friendly, challenging, encouraging work. I look forward to each appointment, knowing that for that time my body is being strengthened to be able to accomplish all the things I still want to do. I don't quite reach 5 feet, 110 lbs. (at most). I have the energy to keep going all day, into the evening, often waking usually around 6am (playing cards with hubby until 10pm or more - because we both work all day!) ready to face the day. I do eat according to Eat Right for (4) Your Type (by Dr. D'Adamo - get the Red Paper Back Book) which totally keeps my weight in line (it's not dieting at all) but I believe it's the reason I so look forward to that wonderful 1/2 hour WORK twice a week!!!

I've worked with trainers before, but these guys are REALLY different. I came in old and out-of-shape, but my trainers at practical fitness have helped me to get stronger and more fit - pushing me to my limits, but always keeping me safe. I've had a great experience here. First and foremost, their training methods make a ton of sense and they maximize our 30 minutes together each week. You wouldn't think it would be enough to make a difference, but if you fully commit to the workout and push yourself to the limit, then you will see big gains with your fitness and strength goals.

Additionally, they have really great trainers that give helpful feedback, coach on proper form, as well as support and encourage me to give my max effort. On top of all of that, the company treats their trainers well with a livable wage, benefits, time off, and more.

Practical Fitness is the best-kept secret in the Austin fitness scene and you should give them a try. You will be stunned at the progress you make quickly and you'll be addicted to going back to get even better.

Update - 16 flights of stairs in a single day per my Apple Watch and no soreness at all. I helped my daughter move into a 3-story townhouse and it was challenging. Normally I don’t do stairs at all so those 16 flights were remarkable. PracFit has been amazing for my health and my ability to enjoy activities.

How great Failure is Success! PracFit adjusts resistance gradually as my strength improves until … hooray! I reach muscle fatigue. Folks, I am 78 years old and still getting stronger. If I can do it, anyone of any age can as well. Amazing.

I've been coming to Practical Fitness for 3 months now. I'm 71 and have issues with my knees and a shoulder. They have worked relentlessly with me to get the best workout possible within my limitations. There is no way I would ever push myself to work as hard as I do on my own, and having a knowledgeable trainer to make sure I don't get hurt in the process is gold!

These personal trainers are experts whose thorough analysis with their intake and evaluation process have enabled me to successfully workout without hurting myself as has been the care for many years. In fact, before this, I had given up. I have fibromyalgia & degenerative cervical spine disease with stenosis impacting the functioning of my left shoulder and yet I’ve never had any issues with the personalized sessions or subsequent recovery periods between workouts. They pay attention, they pace you and they challenge you beyond what you believe you’re capable of. To say that I’m amazed is an understatement. It has been a little while since I gave a shout out to the wonderful, professional, and caring team of trainers at Practical Fitness (PF). They are the best team of trainers I have ever worked with. I am very physically active, incorporating PF Steady Pace weight/resistance training, racquetball, stretching, walking, and stairs, into my daily routine. Recently, I overdid my racquetball workout and developed sharp shoulder pain. Under Jeff’s guidance, Laura, Jen, Mason, Kevin, and Abby developed PF workouts for me that have REALLY helped me recover with barely missing a beat! Thank you all so much!!

I credit Practical Fitness, Jeff, and his dedicated team every time I'm complimented by friends and family on how my body has changed since the last time they've seen me. The results come from an amazingly efficient workout program. Thirty minutes, two times a week can be built into anyone's busy schedule. The one on one instruction sets you up to efficiently move through 10 to 14 exercises in every session. The team of instructors meticulously tracks your progress to progressively challenge and overload the muscles. Cardio and a whole body workout is programmed into the 30 minute session. Form is corrected with instant feedback to prevent injury and to maximize effectiveness. I have seen the results from serial dexa scans which are the gold standard in tracking body fat percentage and lean tissue mass. My body and my movements feel more solid and controlled since I started 2 and a half years ago. Practical Fitness works.
