The place says 24/7 but the past 4 out of 6 days the doors have been locked and the card reader won't let you in. This happens more often than not. I experience this at least twice a week but these past few days have been a huge disappointment

Where do I begin...let's start off with the staff and managment! It's rare when you see two employees at the desk or even around the gym, and the manager is never around. You ask for the manager and they say "my manager will be here this evening or tomorrow evening" and when you call or show up that evening or the following as promised they say the manager isn't there. Now let us talk about the equipment shall we...I wont go into detail so you all can find out for yourselves if you like but everything is falling apart, bent, needs professional attention, NEEDS TO BE SANITIZED, and just needs to be taken care of all around. You better get yourself some life insurance and medical insurance if you get a membership here.

I had a Planet Fitness membership and I was paying a sitter to watch my little ones while I was at the gym. I decided to join pure energy because they offer kids space (which I pay alot extra a month for). I'm a brand new member and the first day I showed up with my kids their kids space was closed during their regular operation hours. No reason, no explanation why, just a sign that said closed. It's very unprofessional considering I left planet fitness where I was paying $21 a month to come to pure energy where I pay over $80 a month to bring my kids and they don't deliver on the only reason I switched to them. I'm definitely considering canceling my contract and going back to planet fitness. Just beware if the kids space is what is bringing you here, you may be better off getting your own private sitter.
I attempt to call ahead to verify that the kids space is open, but they never answer the phone. I texted and called the number they have listed as the cell. It's the wrong number. The whole business seems very unorganized. I would recommend planet fitness in the area over pure energy any day.

It's a good gym. Maybe the best in Portland. But the equipment is dirty. I was doing abs with the weight on my chest. I can't wash the Tshirt now

this isn't some New Year's resolution gym, it's a great place year-round for you to get in shape, lose weight and build muscle. Great facilities they even have to saunas for you to get your sweat on.

If I could rate this place a negative 5 Stars I definitely would! Worst service imaginable. No accountability for the promises the Service staff makes. They'll say anything to get you to join then you find that they don't do what they said they would or promised. They took a payment to catch up my account (which was supposed to be prepaid not contract) and said the manager would activate my account. WRONG They took my money and I didn't have the account activated as promised. In they wanted more money and the person who made promises now says she never did!!
THE MOST UNTRUSTWORTHY STAFF EVER!!
Not to mention having so many machines broken. I tried to work out on the only rowing machine they had but couldn't. The belt for the pedal was busted and someone tied a knot on it to try to fix it!! Ridiculous!!

We just moved here about 3 months ago and needed a family gym! Pure Energy fits all our needs! Being military both my husband and I have been to many fitness facilities, this one by far has met all our needs and has excellent flow! A wide variety of equipment and diverse fitness classes! Great way to incorporate all your fitness needs!

Very poor management !! Most equipment is out of order and in poor condition. Cardio machines are nasty ... This place is a complete disaster ... They can do better, they have a great space to rearrange. They Most have to bring new equipment !!!! Give this gym some care 🙏 !!!!!!!

While it does have a more comfortable gym atmosphere over the sterile chain style gyms nearby...it needs some help.

The only two stairmaster machines are out of order, half the treadmills are out of order and the others die on you while using them. I was lucky to not go flying when the one I was using lost power and stopped immediately.

Most of the machines need maintenance...granted a lot of that is necessary do to members abusing them. Dumbbells are bent and falling apart, cable machines bent and broken, pens missing, etc. If your members cannot take care of the equipment, fine them or remove their membership eligibility. Other gyms use this tactic without a problem.
