My daughter has been going here for 2 years, and she absolutely loves it!! She does Jazz dance and tumbling. The dance and tumbling coaches actually TEACH and make sure you're doing it the correct way, which is important. She has learned so much! We live in Cypress and make the drive because it is worth it!!

Disappointed in the Greed

Republic Gymnastics & Dance Company has become extremely money-hungry. They keep adding more shows to their recital schedule, and parents are required to buy tickets for each one if their child is participating. Parents used to get 2 free tickets. The shows are separated by age so the chances of you having multiple kids in one show are slim. It feels like they’re more focused on squeezing money from families than creating a positive experience for the kids. What used to be a great place now just feels like a business looking to profit off every opportunity.

RESPONSE: Definitely the response I expected! I have never compared my kid to any other kid… I see Republic Gymnastics loves to use reverse psych on racial reviews. I know for sure that my daughter was held back for a hand stand while the white kids who were struggling too just like her were moved to level 2! Period!

I don’t know about this place… seems like they treat the white kids different from the black kids. My daughter has been going here for almost 2 years now, all the kids she started with were moved to level 2 and she is still at 1. She is basically the oldest in her group now. The last evaluation she received, she was told that she needs to work more on her hand stands and that was it. This is something she can get better with even if she is moved to level 2.

She was soooo disappointed as she was excited to level up and she practiced and worked her butt off before the evaluation. As a result of this, she is not excited about gymnastics anymore like she use to and has missed a couple of classes. All the kids in her group are no longer there… why is that the case? This is not only discouraging but it completely drops down a child’s morale.

Yesterday I saw one of the girls from her group from April 2024 already in level 2 who came to make up a class - I remember very well that she was struggling because her mom use to yell saying “you can do this” - and here’s my daughter 9 years old with 4 and 5 year olds.

I am still on the fence about this place because I am seriously considering taking her somewhere else but she loves one of her coaches so much that’s why I am still keeping her there - Coach Kevin - he is always smiling, very nice and so welcoming.

I see I am not the only person who has an issue with inclusivity from the reviews. I want my daughter to go somewhere she is valued and her growth is encouraged and it is not her skin color that matters.

My daughter has been in Republic for 3 years now and it has been nothing but great. Her Coach Ms. Gabrielle does a great job explaining different ways to help her girls out. Reply to owner response: do you really think we believe that a black parent stopped the 3 white parents in your class and told them about an outfit, but just so happen to not tell the only black student parent? If so…not even ONE of the girls parents in her class informed her parent just in case? Please stop with the lie to cover up the fact you LET it happen and it was in fact racially motivated by the other parents. I also didn’t see any other kids in the outfit, as you “claim” well let’s call it what it is LIED and said a black parent stopped them in the hallway to tell them to order it. If I could give zero stars, I would. I strongly recommend choosing a place that is inclusive and welcoming to children of all races, rather than one that singles out an innocent child and subjects them to blatant embarrassment. This behavior is completely unacceptable and deeply upsetting.

I am deeply disappointed with the lack of empathy and inclusivity at this dance company. My child, a minority, was intentionally excluded from outfit and hairstyle decisions for the end-of-year performance. Despite my willingness to purchase the same outfit, she was left feeling isolated and different. The owner response was it was the parents fault and the company had no control of that. This has led me to withdraw her from the program to find a more inclusive environment. This experience was deeply upsetting for both of us.

Had my son’s birthday party here recently and the whole experience was great! The facility was large, clean and well lit. I appreciated that it didn’t look or smell dingy like most gymnastic places. The coaches were great and overall I’d do another party here. Highly recommend!

at the beginning everything was great. Coaches were perfect, but one day something happened where the coaches kicked my daughter out the lessons because we haven’t paid when we had but they weren’t checking correctly and when i went to the receptionist they checked and saw that everything was paid and let my daughter back in but no child should go through that embarrassment in front of everyone and i let it slide because my daughter loves the classes but today they didn’t let my daughter take her class because it was “full” knowing that she has been taking that same class on Thursday for the past 4 weeks

I highly recommend Republic Gymnastics. My daughter has been doing tumbling for 3 years and has gained so much knowledge. Coach Joel and Coach Jake are amazing! My daughter loves them very much and goes to their class with a smile. They have helped her overcome fear and improve her splits. The staff is wonderful, very patient, and always encourage your child to excel. The coaches are very dedicated to students, pushing them to become successful and learn all the moves. Additionally, the place is always clean, providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Teachers change all the time. My daughter was in dance and they took measurements for her outfit unfortunately we had to take her out due to personal issues. We were on vacation & they called me to pick up her outfit and if I didn’t pick it up they would donate it. I called the office and the manager was suppose to call me back but never did. I don’t think that’s the correct way to do this. We spend our hard earn money just for your things to be donated and they don’t seem to care.

Very friendly staff. I really do appreciate the coaches and the time and attention they give their students. This place gets extremely packed quickly on common rush hours or after rush hours so coming in early is definitely the best bang for buck. I take my boys for mini ninja and ninja courses and so far have been loving their confidence and athleticism!

I have two girls that have attended classes at Republic since day one. They are both still enrolled in class here and absolutely love every minute of it. The facility is clean and organized. If I could give 100000000 stars I would! This place is AMAZING! If you know gyms they can easily smell of "feet", be ill kept, and looking disheveled. NOT THIS PLACE! Republic is 10/10 for cleanest facility by far. My children have attending extra events, birthdays, and classes and the facility is always on point with the level and expectation of service and facility cleanliness.

I have met the owner a couple times and she is professional, has always helped with any questions I have about my account or a class my children have been interested in, and extremely kind. You can tell she really cares about the facility, staff, and customers as a whole.

Definitely try this place out! One of the best in the Cypress/Katy area for sure.

My family has been attending Republic since their opening. We have had many kiddos in gymnastics, dance, tumbling, & ninja classes. We have had ages ranging from toddlers in Parent Tot to school aged children. The kids have always LOVED the classes, coaches, dance instructors and all Republic staff. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and well versed in the craft they teach.

We have had many family birthdays at Republic that have always met our expectations and the coaches have gone above and beyond. I really like it because we are the only party in the lobby area, which is GREAT! Most facilities run multiple birthdays at once but Republic gives us a more intimate setting. There is a lot to do at the parties and the coaches communicate well on the timeline of the party and help facilitate activities and engage with the kiddos.

I ultimately enjoy attending Republic because the facility, owners, and staff always do their best and it feels like a second home to us. We will continue to attend for many years to come! I highly highly highly recommend :)

I love this place, the best gym in Houston, hands down!!! Skilled coaches who actually practice what they preach and also went above and beyond to accommodate my neurodivergent son, who loves to jump! The classes are very instructive, they even have a parent/child class for babies (lol), I love the ballet and dance classes and they have a HUGE indoor playground/treehouse -- what's not to like? All of the trophies speak for themselves!! At Republic, you really get the feeling like you're providing your child with not only world class training and a phenomenal skill set, but also lasting techniques, friendships and confidence that will surely set them apart in future competitions.

Took my 3yr old there for a couple of months. The coaches were non inclusive. It was my toddlers first time joining a class and she was very shy. They wouldn’t encourage her to join the class. We love the gymnastics class, my toddler has learned so much and most of the coaches are amazing. The reason I don’t give five stars is because very few coaches are non understanding of how a toddler behaves, which results on the toddler not getting a stamp (this is their reward system), but once I mentioned this to the manager she did an exceptional job handling the situation.

Updating my last review. We loved this studio up until our most recent experience. The dance director has a huge lack of communication. When sending emails there’s a continuous delay of follow up and never an apology for the late response. I understand there are times when you’re busy and overwhelmed but customer service should always remain priority. The teachers are great and the staff at the front are amazing.

RE is one of a kind and you’ll never find another studio/gym like it. If you want your kids to get into dance or gymnastics than this is a great place to be. Alicia (the owner) and her staff are wonderful and will work diligently to get your kids where they need to be in their discipline. I have watched this company at dance competitions for the last two years and knew that this company is exactly where I wanted my daughter to train. We feel so blessed for this opportunity to be at such an elite company! So far it has only been a few weeks but I have seen grown in dance/tumbling skills and an increase in my daughter's"dance confidence"! I can't wait to see what this season and years to come has in store for my daughter! I would definitely recommend RE. Very organized, information is given to parents in a timely efficient manner, transparency in your fees, variety of classes, and a dance culture (so far) that will push your child to be the best she/he can be in the development of their dance skills. The staff and parents are friendly. In this day of COVID- I see a tumbling coach wiping down the mat after each class and wearing his mask, I see the dance teachers wiping down the ballet bar after the dancers touch the bar; all of that matters , especially as parent. I want my child to continue to develop her passion and be safe at the same time.

We made a change of dance studios my daughters senior year. Even with COVID-19 in full swing we have had an amazing experience at Republic Edge. From day one the teachers, students and staff welcomed my daughter and treated her as if she had always been with them. My daughter found growth in areas she had been lacking. When it seemed all other studios shut down during COVID we had daily practices and rehearsals through Zoom. The teachers and staff made a tremendous effort to keep our girls dancing and in shape. Today is the end of year recital. Proof of how hard they work for their dancers. We would highly recommend Republic Edge.

We absolutely love Republic! The coaches are patient, knowledgeable and kind. It feels like a family here! Our toddler has been a member since she could walk and she has made leaps and bounds. She’s already so much stronger than most of her friends and SO much more confident in herself. She also takes dance there. The dance teaches are all saints. My niece had her birthday party here on today, and we had a great experience. To begin with, the staff was friendly, and they helped us set up the venue to ensure that our party began on time. In fact, they helped us carry several heavy items to and from the car, and they provided great customer service. They helped set up with our food and decor (sure wish I would have gotten their names!!) The venue allowed us to bring a DJ for my niece's party, and her friends had a blast. When you book a party at this Republic Gymnastics location, it is a private event so your guests including the kiddos are free to enjoy access to the building. The staff played games with the kids such as tag and duck, duck, goose, and they were exhausted after their hour of playtime. It is clean, and I would recommend anyone to have a birthday party or train at this location!

So far I like this place. We know coach Lauren from a prior gym. She is great. Communicates with not only the kids but also with the parents very well. This is not a competition gym so if that's what you're looking for you won't find it here but if you have a gymnast that wants to continue with her skills and not do competition at the moment this would be the gym.

Our daughter loves her tumbling and gymnastics class! Everyone is super friendly, the facility is beautiful and super clean. Definitely worth our 20min drive.

My 9 year old daughter takes tumbling & gymnastics at Republic & we absolutely love this gym. We are grateful to have found a gym that has highly competent coaches that take their lessons seriously. My daughter's 3 weekly classes are each with a different coach (by our choice) & they are all amazing. They are highly skilled, pay attention to detail (for the love!) & the coach:kid ratio is perfect so they're able to give each kid alot of individualized attention. My daughter has taken year-round classes at several other popular gyms in our area since she was 2-1/2 years old & those places were a joke compared to the quality of instruction & coaching at Republic. She has learned so much more than she ever did at other gyms in such a short amount of time. She feels so loved & supported at this gym & it totally shows in her skill & confidence level. We are beyond grateful for this gym & their awesome staff. 🧡

BEST PLACE EVER! My wife found this place in a Facebook page and we had our baby’s first birthday there yesterday and all I gotta say is THANK GOD WE FOUND IT! The couches were amazing to say the least, they were playing with the kids, they help set everything up and clean up too, I absolutely love the one on one time couch spend with our one year old, i never had such great experience when having a party, even with my family made it late they were so understanding and help the most they could to give us a bit more time , I can go on and on about how awesome of an experience this was , we’re beyond happy, if you’re looking for a place to hold a birthday I recommend this a 100% ! The staff was soooo friendly and amazing, all I can say is thank you in behalf of our princess and us , this was better than expected, thank you

Poor location but nice place. Awkward when employee asked kids at birthday party to not make too much noise with party favors just because she didn't like them. Noise is to be expected at a 6 year olds birthday party.

I had my young daughter’s birthday party there this past Saturday. Keri and her daughter helped us set it up, and break it all down. They bundled all the presents, handed out the party favors, helped serve the food...it was perfect! We had the entire gym to ourselves and the coaches took the kids all over the gym to play on everything! They made the entire experience a special one for my daughter. All the kids loved them and had a blast, and all the parents loved that we were the only birthday party booked during that time and how helpful the coaches were and how well they interacted with the kids. We had ages 2-7 at the party and every kid had a fantastic time!!

I hosted my nieces 2nd birthday party a couple weeks ago at Republic Gymnastics and Dance. All the guests absolutely LOVED the facility! Parents and kiddos alike had a blast. We enjoyed being the only party at the facility and the helpfulness of the staff. We had some customized requests and they did a wonderful job at really putting those requests through and making it an even BETTER event than we hoped for. She had a blast and the party was a HUGE success!

My kids love it here! Beautiful facility, professional coaches, talented dance directors and teachers, welcoming staff; honestly, the best! My daughter dances and tumbles here. My son does gymnastics. The incredible growth I have seen in them since we have joined is amazing to watch! You can notice the dedication and passion the coaches and teachers have towards your children; emphasizing on their skills to make them better and stronger each week. Thank you all at Republic for all you do for my kiddos!
