Worked with Nick for a few months in 2024. He's great - can easily work with experienced lifters or less experienced (like I was). Worked out at the Alliance location - great gym. Nick is methodical, very knowledgeable about correct form and a great overall coach. Highly recommend. I'm pausing personal training for a bit but Nick will be my first call when I want refreshers.

Nick is a great trainer! He is super knowledgeable and doesn't use fear or shame to motivate you, just reminds you of your goals and the steps to get there. He reminds you that building good habits and consistency is the key to your success, not pushing yourself until you break.

Coach Nick is one of the BEST personal trainers I've ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable in health, fitness, and nutrition. He welcomes you where you are. When I signed up with him I was extremely over weight. He never once made me feel ashamed or guilty for how I got to my heaviest weight. He was always motivating, encouraging, and compassionate. I started working out with him one-on-one. And after a few months my husband started to take notice of my changes. My husband decided he wanted in on this strength training journey. Russell joined our work outs! Over the course of 6-7 months of personal strength training, cutting my calories (I was an overeater of junk foods,) cleaning up my diet, and walking 6 miles per week..... I lost 45 pounds!!! Nick played a huge part in keeping me motivated and making me feel like I could accomplish my goals.
I'm 48 years old so none of this was as easy to do like when I was 28. But Nick made this (sometimes difficult journey) enjoyable.I looked forward to our sessions and held myself accountable for showing up.
Pictures: *Green shirt: 45 pounds lighter, size 8. *Black shirt: 50 lbs heavier, size 16!

Nick is a great trainer. He has a lot of knowledge and a big heart and I feel very supported by him on my new fitness journey. He really wants me to succeed on my own terms so he listens to my goals and creates programs that push me to work hard so that I can meet them. He also makes sure I am doing the lifting correctly and not leaving myself open to injury. Working with Nick has boosted my confidence and comfort level with strength training. APC is a very welcoming and chill place to work out also.

I worked with Nick for two months at the tail end of last year and plan on working with him again for some sport specific training. Nick has a way of explaining the "why" behind the training and has the solid knowledge to back it up. I now have worked with half a dozen trainers in my life and I couldn't recommend Nick enough. His methods are elegant, simple and effective. Will likely jump in and out of working with him over the years.

I have been training with Nick for over a year. Thanks to his guidance, I have become stronger and fitter. The workouts are challenging and focused on my personal needs. He takes the time to explain how a certain exercise targets a muscle and why it is important. He has a passion for fitness, and it shows at the way he teaches each session. He believes in continuous education and takes any opportunity to educate himself. He is compassionate on his approach which I appreciate very much. He is fun to work with, down to earth and explains things in simple terms i can understand.

Nick is an awesome trainer, his background in physical therapy definitely gives him an edge in creating programs that work for your goals whether it's strength training, recovering from injury or just getting off the couch. And he's truly the nicest guy around.

Coach Spang is the best! He worked with me for 3 months to train for a Spartan race. His focus on body alignment instead of weight loading made working out fun. He got me doing pull-ups! Iām 43!
