My daughter has been competing with SLG for 13 years. The coaches go way above and beyond and treat the girls with respect, individualizing coaching for each athlete’s needs and care; my daughter adores Coaches Wendy, Mei, and Nan. As a level 10 gymnast, she trusts her coaches to keep her safe, challenge her, ensure she is prepared for season, and allow her to flex her leadership. We are super proud of the gymnasts and grateful for extraordinary coaches!

My oldest daughter has been doing gymnastics here for almost 3 years and loves it! She was at a different gym before and had almost no progress and immediately progressed after starting at sugarland gymnastics. My younger daughter recently started and looks forward to it weekly and we will likely enroll our son soon too!

My daughter Heidi was really struggling to adjust during her first class. So much so that we almost unenrolled her. Then Kenzi stepped in during her second class and completely changed everything.

She noticed Heidi crying, comforted her, and personally walked her into class. Kenzi led the entire session with so much patience, encouragement, and genuine care. By the end, Heidi was smiling, confident, and even showing her brother new things she learned at home!

All of the staff has been great, but Kenzi truly went above and beyond. The confidence she helped Heidi find again is the reason we’re staying. So grateful!

Our daughter (3 years old) has been going to Sugar Land gymnastics for almost 18 months now. She loves it and looks forward to it weekly! Coach Jen is the best and was so patient with her when she was in the Parent and Me class. Now she’s moved up to Super Tot and has mastered so many skills!

My girls are 7 and started gymnastics for the first time at the beginning of the school year. They are loving it! There is room for beginners as well as more competitive gymnasts all in the same gym. I love their community events and they are very customer friendly.

My experience with sugar land gymnastics has been spectacular. They are so kind and the staff are absolutely lovely. They are always ready to greet your child with warmth and care and your child is open to progress at their own pace. The gym is clean and well taken care of. If you are looking for tumbling, dance, or gymnastics classes that are, clean, welcoming and engaging for your child this is the place to come.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
I registered my daughter for a one-week summer camp at Sugar Land Gymnastics while we were visiting from overseas, and overall it was a good experience.

The registration process was smooth and easy, without unnecessary complications. We were welcomed warmly, and I appreciated how organized the place was. The gymnastics equipment is well-maintained, and the camp staff seemed dedicated. Most importantly, my daughter enjoyed her time there.

There are a few things that could be improved:
• They played movies during the camp, which I personally didn’t like. It would be nice if they offered more active or creative alternatives — like a short walk, outdoor time, or different group activities.
• I’d also love to see a shared lunch option. Right now, each child brings their own snack, but having a shared lunch experience could encourage more connection and joy among the kids.
• Lastly, I didn’t appreciate the extra charge we received for being 20 minutes late one day. Especially since the facility stays open later, it would’ve been more understanding to allow a short wait time in the reception area without an added fee.

Still, we’re grateful for the experience and glad our daughter had fun during her camp week. Thank you to the team for making our visit to Sugar Land Gymnastics a positive one!

Don’t come here if you are a lower level and wanting to gain technique. They do not correct any un pointed toes, wrong form and everything in between. I noticed because I did gymnastics before and I wondered why my sister hasn’t been improving. If you are upper level they do focus on them way more and correct them.

If I could give them a -100, I would ! They are closed every chance they get and on so many weekends, the kids miss out on days of gymnastics and it is difficult to make them up later. Kids who are chubbier or not very easy to maneuver are unfortunately left behind and ignored by the teachers. Not a single teacher tries to help any struggling children. My child quit gymnastics because of this place and the teachers who are very discouraging! She cries every time she goes to gymnastics class and she is very confused ! If you care about your child’s happiness and confidence, do not take them there! The lobby area is not clean and it smells like feet. It is also very small and unsanitary.

I took my daughter today for a trial class.
There was no parking and had to park next door. When I walked in the area was full with Parents and children. You couldn’t even walk through. There was too much going on and it looked very unorganized. My daughter was taken in to the class and was left alone to do what everyone else was doing without any help. I watched her for 15 minutes and saw that not even one teacher helped her or came to her. I pulled her out of class and left. This was such a horrible experience for me and for my daughter. My daughter left very upset crying saying she was so confused during the class and that no one offered to help.

Oldest daughter has been coming here for a year and a half now. The coaches do their part in training and pushing the students appropriately.

Competition season gets a little intense with finances and scheduling. Good advice would be to know and communicate your expectations and schedules before.

Our daughter (3.5 yo) has been enrolled at Sugar Land Gymnastics for a little over a month now. After going through trial day at a couple of other gymnastics schools in the area and considering some in Houston, we picked this school. The staff and coaches have been a good fit for us and our childs’ needs at this stage.

From observing the activities here, I can tell that:

1. There are lots of kids in various programs, age groups and at different levels.

2. Many of the kids have been coming here for years. There are kids here who practice the sport as recreation and many who attend for competitive gymnastics.

3. The kids are always smiling, happy and moving. These were the biggest factors for us in enrolling our daughter here.

4. SL Gymnastics seems to be creating a great foundation on teaching kids how to take instructions in athletics at a young age.

Our daughter always looks forward to coming here so we support that. If you or your kids need a bit more coddling, I would recommend smaller birthday party type “gyms”. If there is a chance your kid may really want to stick with gymnastics as a sport (recreationally or competitively), I would recommend Sugar Land Gymnastics.

A note on some of the negative comments that I have read about this place; read the program rules and regulations. Everything is quite clear ahead of time.

Both of my girls take gymnastics here and the classes are great, but what I want to review is the AMAZING summer camp this company offers. Last summer, I had the absolute worst experience with a different camp and decided to try this one this year. I was blown away by how great it was. Staff were fully engaged and my daughters had a blast all day, every day. They made friends and learned skills! The camp also offered before and after camp options for working parents and my kids loved those too. The camp was affordable and I never worried about their safety leaving them there. Using this summer camp was the best decision. THANK YOU SUGAR LAND GYMNASTICS!

Our daughter has been going to Sugar Land Gymnastics for nearly two years. She has thoroughly enjoyed it and has progressed a lot. All coaches have been excellent but I want to specifically mention Coach Rachael since she was her first coach. Coach Rachael is affectionate yet firm, and thus a very effective teacher. Recently, my daughter has moved to a different team. Coach still checks in with our daughter when she can to make sure that she continues to enjoy her gymnastics lessons.

Sugarland Gymnasyics are the best in Houston. They have a really great program and the coaching excellent. My daughter has been attending for the past 3 years and she is just 7. Hey coach Ms Rachael is very patient, focused, and takes her time with the kids, most importantly, she empowers them to do their best and practice until they get it. The program encourages teamwork and support for each other while striving to do their best. Stay away! Unless you don’t mind the staff being despot, unfriendly, sour, and sarcastic to you. You walk in and already feel tension, the receptionist don’t smile, they don’t like you asking any questions, and they don’t go above and beyond to help the clients when we need help or come across an inconvenience of schedule and time. I never give reviews! But this gym has me so upset. My daughter has been going here since 2019, we took a break in 2020. in 2021 or 2022 we enrolled her back in. We deiced to cancel due to her interest in only tumbling she is not old enough for that class. I of course had to sign the paper and agreed that I missed the deadline by 1 day so I had to pay for the next entire next month. We were unable to take her on her regular scheduled class on Tue for the month of January so we received make up tokens. An email was sent for me to schedule. I also received an email from one of the staff members on Jan 25 telling me they missed my daughters and cant wait to see her again. We had 5 make up tokens and we requested to use 2. I scheduled it on Jan 30 for Feb 2 and Feb 3. both of these had a later expiration of mid Feb. I get a call today and was told she can not attended because we canceled her membership. I explained that we only wanted to do 2 out of the 5 we had and asked if we could. I was told we would receive a call later to see if she can go. No one ever called. So I called and talked to someone. I explained why I was call to the lady who answered then was put on hold forever and then another lady got on the phone and and repeated myself asking if she can just make up the 2 I already scheduled. I was given the same story about her not being able to because we canceled. I mentioned again that it was not told to me at anytime. All the emails sent and the expiration dates on the make up tokens are mid Feb- End of Feb. Then placed on hold again. The lady gets back on the phone to tell me she is not sure if I remember signing the cancelation paperwork, but proceeds to give me the date and read that it mentions it on the paper. Is it my fault I signed it and only read the part where it was still going to charge me, yes it is. But why send the emails with expiration dates?? It is contradicting the signed paperwork. A little more understanding and commutation goes a long way. Maybe update the make up emails. Oh and still never talked to a mgr.

I don't recommend this place at all, especially their instructors don't pay attention kids very well.Second worse thing on Nov 24th I parked my car while my kid has class between 4 to 5pm .Somehow hit my left rear passenger door ,when me and my kid were inside and the door has dent,I called them for asking security camera details but they told me there are security cams but not recording.Once again if you park ,anything can happen your cars as well and they don't get serious about their parking lot.As result I am not happy and my kid is no longer continuing and they didn't offer any solution, because I had this problem because of their class.

If you're looking for a gymnastic studio for your children of any age you can stop looking now this place is amazing!!

Our daughter participated in gymnastics for 2 years, from 5 to 7 years old, due to covid. We had not brought her back to the sport. Till this year, aug of 22, our family was. Entirely new to the state with no friends or family to provide recommendations

Through my research of gymnastics studios, this one caught my attention from there online presentation. With a website that was clean, simple, to the point. Well-managed and provided answers to all my questions. They had the option to attend a trial class, so I clicked the call now button, typically programs like this don't. Answers calls till 4:00pm. But I was pleasantly surprised to speak with bertha a coach and Manager of the studio that was joyful and passionate about the gym.

Now that I knew they not only had a great online presentation of all the types of programs they offer, they where totally responsive and Easy to get in contact with.

After a first trial class not only did Bertha take a time to greet us at the door but she walked us through the program and the different types of classes they had to offer for all skill levels.

Collectively we agreed which program my daughter would take which we decided to go with the level one girl's gymnastics in a very short 2 months time through proper guidance from the coaches and the amazing system they have in class, my daughter has advanced to level 2

They have systems in place that not only test the class as a whole and keep everybody in In alignment with their progress but they have systems in place To test their students individually and make sure that their program suits them best they also have teams.

Our family is welcome every time we walked through the door and I had nothing but great things to say about this place it's worth the trial class deciding on your own after that is pretty simple.

My daughter has attended SLG since summer 2021. I have recently decided to cancel her membership and transfer her elsewhere due to lack of communication. First of all, I have never had one coach go to me and talk to me regarding her improvement, what she needs to work on, plan for future. Nothing. I sit and observe and always see them tell other parents, possibly kids that they see with more potential, and I see that as unfair. I was seeing her future here as her evolving and moving up but I feel like she wasn't give the chance. I also don't like that classes start late and end early, I don't think that's valuing the time we are paying for. Also, for competition times they cancel classes without calling and leaving a voicemail, leaving me to drive 25 minutes to take her to class for it to be canceled. Cherry on top has now been that I canceled my membership prior to the 25th of March and they assured me I wouldn't be charged for April. Today the monthly is withdrawn from my account, I have to call and ask what is going on because they don't take the time to communicate. Now they tell me I had to submit it by the 5th of March, which the document I signed when withdrawing didn't state this. Regardless, if you reviewed my cancellation paperwork and noticed that I was still going to be charged when you assured me I wasn't, why wouldn't you call me? Why wouldn't you communicate? Don't leave people guessing and communicate. There needs to be more order and all kids should be treated the same regardless of which ones you get more money out of.

They kept talking about policies which we never had. When signing, they were too busy on the phone, asked to sign quickly. Thieves!!! For holidays and school breaks, no classes but you still pay full amount! Robbers!!!! This is not how you handle customers. Poor customer service. They are not worth even 1 star. ZERO star! Advice to parents is simply to make sure you understand the policies clearly. Understand the 30 day notice. Try to get communication in writing so that you understand exactly what you will be charged. Pay attention to kids emotional and psychological state.

My daughter didn’t fit well here. She loves gymnastics. However, we were alarmed when she started to cry on the way to practice and on the way home. We spoke to the coaches after one incident that made my daughter feel uncomfortable. Nothing serious, simply the coach joking about my daughter being “chicken”. Apparently this was an inside joke within the team. My daughter didn’t comprehend and did not find it funny. We talked and worked it out. But, the crying did not stop. Given today’s environment we thought it would be best to change gyms.

We had been part of the team since September of 2018. June 18th 2019 we turned in our 30 day notice. There was a miscommunication and I was under the impression that I would only be charged a prorated July amount after turning in my notice. However, to my surprise, I was charged in excess of double my regular monthly payment. After speaking with management I was charged my full July payment in addition to a partial team competition fee. It was communicated to me that I would be refunded the team competition fee that had been charged in error due to the timing of the 30 day notice. Keep in mind that the bank draft doesn’t take place until July 5. I turned in my 30 day notice June 18th? Thanks for the team fee refund that has to be MAILED after you drafted my account. Still, I have to pay the full July payment even though I would not be there for the month of July. Ok. No problem. Its policy.

There is nothing you can do about it I suppose. But, I simply want to agree with Lucero Baize’s review saying “it’s all about money” and Van-Anh Do for the most part.

Got the same response in regard to “policy” answers. I understand policy, but seems like it would be courteous to give customers a refund or pass when it’s completely understood that the participant will not return in some situations. Not doing so gives the feeling that this is a business before it’s a gymnastics training facility.

If you have a child who already knows with each and every fiber of her/his existence that s/he will do gymnastics for a long, long time, than you shouldn’t have too much problems here, if you don’t mind the unfriendly staff and smelly facility. The coaches are actually decent, and that’s why I gave it 1 star. But if your child behaves like a normal child and comes and tells you they don’t want to do gymnastics anymore, be prepared to eat the fee x 2 months and drag your child there even though they already don’t want to do it anymore and they had actually waited a while before telling you because they didn’t want you to be mad/sad. I’d consider this place daylight thieving, regardless of “that’s our policy”. Who has an extra $200 to spare AFTER you don’t want to pursue something? A pro-rated policy would make more sense. We haven’t started classes for July when my daughter told me she didn’t want to do this anymore. They were closed for the holidays, and now they are telling me I will be charged for July and August even if I cancel today. Don’t come here!!!!!! Read other reviews about how horrible this place has become. I wished I had read before signing up. UPDATE: This business had responded that I didn’t afford them the opportunity to discuss the matter. That’s not true! They were very short with me on the phone when I first called that no refund will be given. I showed up anyway later to express my disbelief and rationale in a very honest way, and the front desk staff was extremely dismissive of my presence and walked away to talk to someone on the phone and told me to sign a paper that shows they will charge me for one full month instead of two. Staff did not give me the option to return to speak to management. Only until I asked for it. Bottom line, they weren’t telling the truth.

We’ve been members of Sugar Land Gymnastics for almost 3 years! My boys did gymnastics here with the wonderful coach Nini, then did Karate with the amazing Ms. Annabelle! Mr. Billy is a great coach and super fun, but not for the little ninjas. He could use more experience managing the little ones. I found him to be too authoritarian , demanding attention instead of commanding it by getting the kids more engaged. I have seen him work with older kids and he’s awesome.

I'm surprised this place has 4+ rating. Took my 2.5 yo daughter for a trial. It's was seriously painful to even sit there and watch how the 2 instructors with toddlers were so uninterested down right unpassionate and not interactive with kids what so ever. It was so bizarre I wanted to go in grab my daughter and walk out. I'm going to be honest no one was rude there but I have never met instructors that lack common manners on how to get a kid involved. So it went something like this. They took my daughter behind the window had her sit and wait in que with the other kids then instructors started their training. Um how about take TWO mins and actually talk to the kid to get them comfortable and wanted and maybe go over about what u r actually doing or expectations. I have been working with kids for last 13 years and watching this was pathetic. Throughout the trial both instructors had NO expressions to get the kids hyped and happy or appreciate. Then one instructor brought my daughter out and walked away. Like hello she could possibly be your future student. Would u like to know her name or age or talk to her outside the room maybe a hug to warm her up. I mentioned this concern to the manager. She wasn't capable of accepting positive criticism even though I said it in a very polite way. Her response was something along the lines of. We have these kids coming in from the beginning and your daughter is new so they gotta start without wasting time. Ummm yes sure and my daughter will be paying the same amount as other kids and def needs acknowledgement from her instructors. Ridiculous!!! Just want your $$$

Totally poor management. Very unfriendly. One of the girls in the front is just plain and simple rude rude rude to no end. I can understand someone may have a bad day once in a while but every single time? I can't believe someone like that can be employed anywhere more than a week. I think for lack of competitive businesses nearby they get most of the potential clients in the area so they have little incentive to improve service and quality. Speaking of quality, that is also very subpar.. 👎👎👎👎👎
