This is a GREAT place for children to learn gymnastics. My concern is the men sitting outside with their cellphone in hand watching girls tumble in skimpy clothing. We live in a CRAZY WORLD... I understand they maybe watching their child however do they need their cellphones out? What if a parent does not want their child video taped? There needs to be protection in place to keep children safe... they may be harmless intheir actions but how can we be sure ...????

Both of my daughters have been attending SGA for over 2 years and it has truly become our 2nd home! Ms. Anna is always there to greet us with a smile and the coaching staff/team coaches are friendly, hard working and helpful. We love the smaller community feel, great job SGA! <3

We had our son’s birthday party there. I have to say that the 15min time allotment for set up made me nervous but we prepped to have everything ready to go and my husband and the coach helped me when they could. Our coach Sophie was amazing! She was very professional and actively monitoring the entire gym the whole time. She periodically would check-in with me to see when we would want to pause activities for lunch or dessert and offered timely suggestions and flexible options. We will be looking into their programs once our son turns five for their tumbling for boys and afterschool programming! The party was a success and everyone had a lot of fun!

Our daughter has been at SGA a year, and loves every minute of her time that she is there. We love the fact that it is a small gym that cares about both their rec students and teams. We love walking in and being greated by Ms. Anna. There is always something fun going on; clinics, lock-ins, open gym.

We love Sunburst! We’ve been going here for two years and love all the coaches and staff. One kid does tumbling and the other is on team. We’ve had experience with both recreational and team and love both. The front office staff is always helpful and friendly!

My children love the afterschool program at Sunburst. My 4th grader has been in the program since first grade and my kindergartner started this year. Coach Anna at the front desk is always welcoming and treats my girls with so much love and care. She and the rest of the staff are amazing. I would recommend them to anyone!

Our daughter has gained so much confidence and many friends she absolutely loves this organization. The staff is amazing. We probably will be here until she no longer wants to do gymnastics. Honestly, I don’t have anything negative to say about them.

Managers/sisters malia and bri always had a very rude attitude and always seem to be annoyed with gymnasts and parents both. This gym was ran by a bunch college kids with the owner nowhere to be found. Gym equipment here is in poor condition and dirty. The ac would also stop working and would take forever to fix. Will be choosing a different gym more carefully next time.

We absolutely love Sunburst Gymnastics Academy! Our daughter, who is only 4 years old, has been attending for just three months, and the progress she has made is incredible. The coaches, especially Coach Tiffany, are amazing. They are patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated to helping each child excel. Coach Tiffany has a special way of connecting with the kids, making each session fun and productive. We couldn't be happier with the positive environment and the skills our daughter is developing. Highly recommend Sunburst Gymnastics Academy to any parent looking for a fantastic place for their child's gymnastics journey!

We love Sunburst Gymnastics Academy!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Coach Tiffany! My daughter, who is 4 years old, absolutely loves her gymnastics classes. In just three months, we've seen incredible progress. Tiffany has a unique way of making each class fun and engaging, which has sparked a true passion for gymnastics in my daughter. She talks about gymnastics all the time and can't wait to share what she's learned with everyone. Tiffany's dedication and skill as a coach are truly commendable, and we are so grateful for the positive influence she has on our little gymnast!❀️

The AC seldomly works. My daughter often complained to me it’s so hot inside. And it’s a β€œgymnastics place β€œ where kids practice and jump tumble and what not… now the upstairs where the parents waiting area has a distinct smell… like dirty socks kind of smell . I went in to wait at first and I couldn’t stand it any longer between the hot air and dirty socks combined it’s awful

We came here for a few mommy and me classes per the recommendation of a PT to help my 2 1/2 year old with his physical development. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the Friday evening class I think was just too late in the day so he was just too tired and grumpy to participate. They offered earlier classes but my husband and I work full-time so unfortunately the week day classes won't work for us. They were patient and gave us a trial period to try it out since he was having a hard time. They didn't push him and let him join as he was ready. The other kids looked like they were having a blast, definitely great spot for some kids just won't work for us unfortunately.

I highly recommend this place for a birthday party. We had our three year old's birthday party here and he had a blast. We had kids as young as 14 months and up to 10 years old attending and they all enjoyed themselves. The staff and owners were very accommodating, courteous, and personable.

This is the most degrading place ever and here is why. I have a 9 yr old who is developmentally delayed who fell in love with coaches there. So the owner came up to me with the most disgusting lie how both coaches for her age level are leaving so there is no coach available. Sorry she slew everyone down but if they knew how much that meant to her development and had a child who needed them I would ask them then. They made me sick to my stomach. And my daughter still longs for that place and I dont have a heart to tell her the truth.

I've lived in SA for 20+ years, this gym was a part of the landscape in my daily commute back in 1996. That stability speaks volumes about the quality, staff, and their leadership. Fast forward to 2017- I researched gymnastic camps, I chose Sunburst. I was glad to be back in my old 'hood to take my son, it was totally worth the extra commute. Though my son has very little gym experience, I wanted to avoid the cookie cutter gymnastics franchise/daycare setting where they may also offer karate, and the instructors learn to teach karate by DVD(true story). I wanted quality instructional time. We got that! It took awhile for my son to feel comfortable in the small group, so he basically had his own instructor for the first day or 2. The staff members were very nice and accommodating! Day 3 my son was more comfortable to practice and play amongst the other children, yay! On Day 3 he was horsing around with a little girl and her cousin(regulars@Sunburst)in the gym with adult supervision and other children their age. Little girl was sitting on a beam,my 6 yr old innocently/playfully poked her in the bellybutton. Not sure if her midriff was showing, not sure if they were tickling, but..
kids are expected to play. They're all around the same age, she's sitting, he aimed to poke her belly button, his aim was off and he accidentally poked her in an area we all teach our children is "off limits". Once. Not continuously. They were NOT in a secluded area or tucked away in the corner of the gym. Understandably the little girl and her cousin immediately went together and told an adult in charge. I got a precautionary call, it was decided that he didn't do it intentionally. I appreciated the professionalism. I later became mortified. The little girl's father accused Sunburst of allowing little boys to "touch" girls. The father told them if they didn't make my son leave camp, he would picket outside so everybody would know that Sunburst allows inappropriate touching. I am sure he eventually threatened a civil suit. We were the new outsiders, they were the regulars; now my 6 yr old is a pervert who fondled this dudes daughter and the cousin is her witness...awesome. Nathan and the coaches all agreed that the incident was taken out of context, it was an innocent mistake. They were SO NICE. I still felt horrible, my son was humiliated, and was VERY apologetic. My son did not return for the duration of the camp. We've taught and lectured our son about keeping hands to himself, but horseplay and silly behaviors are to be expected at age 6, right? SO, when you read the review that includes the most horrific accusations, this is the(very long and detailed)other side of the story. Nathan, Sunburst, and the coaches ARE GOOD PEOPLE.

I have just recently joined this gym and I just love it , i have learned so many new skills already in just two months , also coach Nathan the owner I have to admit can be a bit harsh sometimes but once you get to know him, You just love him . Also I am in level two and my coach I feel so safe with her , she litterly knows exactly when to catch you and to make sure your safe if you ever fall on any skills . The fans and AC do break a lot but that's one small problem . It feels clean which is the best thing !!

I have been going to this gym since October 2016. I was told by my coach before she left the gym that she would make sure I got on team. The coaches made a plan to let me try out on July 4th then lied, saying none of them were there, despite having classes obviously going on that day. Staff are unprofessional and don't teach much skill wise. Would not recommend wasting your money at a dirty, hot gym with little equipment

****A BOY HERE TOUCHED A GIRL INAPPROPRIATELY AND NO ACTION WAS TAKEN***!!!When I found this out I immediately removed my daughter from the gym and I recommend if you have a daughter here and care about boys inappropriately touching them, you remove them to. When brought to the owners attention he had no policies in place for this type of situation. I expected some action to take place especially being that the demographic is all girls. A BOY TOUCHING A GIRL IN HER PRIVATE PARTS with no action is unacceptable. I will be contacting the BBB today and filing a complaint. We were already dissatisfied with the lack of attention, trip hazards and cleanliness of the place and we're considering moving gyms, but this really did it. The owner is very disrespectful and cursed at me and yelled over the phone. We have been at this gym for over 2 years and we're shocked to be treated as if it were our first week there.

My boys had been doing pretty good. My older son excellerterated fast and the coach even brought to attention she felt other kids holding him back that she wants to create somthibg special. Months went by and nothing became of it. We then brought to owners attention he is extremely rude and unprofessional. We also asked him about -makeup classes that we paid for but my son was very ill. They where always booked up and he was not willing to make any others alterations to help me work out a -makeup session. He basically yelled at us treat to kick us out if his gym in front of other parents. We where being very respectful. He then realized how he was acting and apologized after I turned in my notice to leave gym. Today went again and as watching he is yelling and belittling his girls. Yeling making fun of them etc. Several parents saw and where shocked. If you want horrible management and no flexibility then go for it. Rude irogrant owner.

The Level 3, 4, 5 Team coach, Brittani, is great. My daughter is on Lvl 3 Girls Team (love love comment from 2 months ago). We have been going to SGA for four years and our daughter is in her second year on compulsory level girls team. The owner, Nathan, works very hard to keep team an affordable, safe, fun, and competitive environment. Nathan and Brittani take school very seriously as a priority in our daughter's life while continually challenging her to be a better gymnast. I recommend SGA to any family considering gymnastics.
