This place is, unfortunately, a disappointment. Charging $18 for a large bucket is excessive, especially given the condition of the range balls. I live less than half a mile away, yet after my experience here I'd gladly drive 20+ minutes to another range just to avoid coming back.

The practice putting green is in rough shape as well. It looked more like a battlefield than a green. The ball kept bouncing around like Plinko. I looked a little closer and I noticed the surface was crawling with ants, which made practice impossible. I ended up just picking up my ball and heading home.

And yes, I'll say it again: $18 for a large bucket. Whoever set that price point might want to reconsider, because it feels like taking advantage of golfers. To top it off, the facility had a strong sewage odor. That may not be entirely their fault, but it certainly didn't help the experience.

Update 9/25/2025: This course continues to outshine any municipal course in terms of Par 3 (FORT WORTH); Greens are maintained along with tee boxes and fairways! The Hills give you some different options to pursue for even the average golfer to come out on top!

The staff alone is what sold me on this place. Showed up to attempt to walk on and place was booked. Owner recommended other spots to try and we were successful based on his recommendation. We came back the following week and met him again! This time to play on the course. Was very informative as well as the woman behind the desk. I recently visited again after a year, and I absolutely love the staff here — they’re always friendly and welcoming! It always feels like home, and I enjoy seeing families out on the course.

I really appreciated how transparent they were when I booked about their recent rate decrease and the reason behind it. The pricing feels very fair and reflects the current course conditions.

I’ve been coming here for years and have seen the consistent effort they put into improving. During my last visit in the winter months, Texas 9 had some of the greenest greens in DFW for a public course. While other courses were painting their greens, Texas 9 didn’t need to — that says a lot about the care they put into their turf.

Five star reviews are not to be believed. Played Sept. 8. Management should drop their fees considerably while the course is in such bad shape. You can practice hitting short irons and chips here but that's about it. Don't bother bringing your putter, because greens are atrocious and will only mess you up for playing on a real course. Large dirt (not sand) areas on them, weeds and anthills. It's a shame, because this little course has (had?) potential.

I have visited a few different golf courses in the DFW area but Texas 9 is a little gem . Great front desk staff always friendly and very accommodating . Greens are very well kept you can tell that the staff takes pride in the work they do to keep this course maintained . Great little 9 hole course perfect for a day out with your friends and a great spot for kids . The driving range is my son's favorite because it's equipped with lights for night practice and the ball machine is easy to use he gets excited about filling up his own basket of practice balls. Club house is always stocked with something to satisfy your sweet tooth or something cold to drink . The girls at the front always remember my son's favorite snacks he likes to have when we're out getting practice in . Highly recommend this course for beginners,kids and seasoned golfers and there's always super cute merchandise stocked in the clubhouse as well. We visit often and it's always a great experience !

Course has significantly declined in recent months and even years. Greens are arguably the worst I’ve ever seen. Not to mention the “night range”… the lights don’t even work. I went in one evening around sunset last week, the manager and employees watched me and other golfers walk in to the range and didn’t mention nothing about the lights not working, and that they would NOT be turning on when it was just about to get dark. They’d rather us purchase range balls and hit in the dark - giving them our wasted money. I gave them the benefit of the doubt - later in the week I reached out in advance and asked if the lights would be on. The girl working the desk said they would be. Once again, the manager and employees watched golfers come in again to purchase balls - and didn’t warn one person the lights still are not working and would not be turning on, causing us again to waste more money. Just close at sunset if that's the case. In addition, the lights don't even turn on over the putting and chipping greens. What's the point of having them? Not everyone wants to come practice in 100 degree heat in the middle of the day. Lastly, the ball machine was empty one night for a significant amount of time. Not one employee to be found - eventually someone came to give out some balls (appeared to be some sort of manager). However, he seemed intoxicated and multiple people pointed it out. Its a shame this course has gone downhill so quickly - it had a lot of potential.

Greens are practically not there, half the fairway on the course are just dry cracked grounds, the sand bunker is just a bunker with mud not sand. Sad to say its really hard to call it a golf course, was dissatisfied after reading these reviews

This course is on your side as a golfer! They bend over backwards to stay open and available for you to improve or simply enjoy the game! Have seen them open when every range and course around was shut down due to heavy rain.

Wonderful hidden gem of golf. Great and gigantic driving range. Two practice greens, separate bunker area and friendly staff! Playing the course you can hit most every club in your bag. 7, 5, 8, Hy, PW, 56, 5i, 9, 8. Couple playing with me hit driver twice.
Compared to a few years ago this is night and day or light years better!

My junior daughter lost 30+ balls to the hazards in the last few rounds but she always looks forward to play at Texas 9. She is now on a mission (impossible) to drive a 100-yard ball over water at #3.

I want to give a huge shout out to Texas 9 for promoting youth golf. They offers $3 green fee to Youth-On-Course members. Texas 9 has also been generous to host the (no-fee) Forth Worth City Girls Golf Championship for years.

If you have a junior golfer, bring him/her along with a small basket of practise balls to feed those "ball-eating monsters" in the ponds. LOL

I am absolutely in love with this course. The staff is super friendly. They did let us know when booking online and again at checkin that they recently aerated the greens and had reduced the rates to reflect the course conditions.
I can’t wait to play it again in a few weeks as the greens continue to bounce back. They have a range and practice area as well.

Hard to be super critical at a relatively low price but the greens are not good currently, well beyond what you would expect even for aerated(I paid 12 dollars so not knocking it much for that). That being said the green complex’s over all where interesting and for a par 3 course it does a good job of variety across holes. With decent greens course would be rather enjoyable. Only real complaint is a 15 dollar medium bucket of range balls but facilities were decent and the balls themselves generally in decent shape.

Played again on 6/25 and it’s still a fun executive course, but the greens have been recently aerated so it made putting tough. Good to see they are doing maintenance on the course though. Came back to play Texas nine golf course again today and the customer service was as good as always all the workers are super friendly and helpful. They also did an awesome job explaining to me that they had just punched all their greens, and they were also very truthful and honest about the green conditions when I called over the phone if I could give a 10 star review I would, definitely check this place out!

I usually love this course because it’s a quick practice, but lately they have been packing in tee times so close that 3-4 groups get backed up consistently. The last round took over 2 hours for 8 holes, I skipped the last hole because 2 groups were still waiting ahead of me.

Love this course. Just started golfing earlier this year and this course is great for me. The staff is always great and helpful. Try from the top of hole 9(highly recommend the view is beautiful). Course usually takes 1hr and half maybe 1hr 45 if you get stuck on hole 3 like me lol, come out and have a good time at TEXAS9 you won't be disappointed.

Perfect place to play a quick game and or break in a set of irons! We were able to warm up at the onsite range and play a quick nine without any issues. The staff was more than helpful and the course offers a great layout! Its cart path only, though we never found ourselves having to be too far from the path!!! I took my son out for our first round at Texas 9 and the course conditions were pretty good. The Interim GM, Josh, was friendly and professional, and he wanted to make sure we had a great outing. The pace of play on a Friday was fantastic and we had ample opportunity to throw a mulligan or two into the stroke count. Great place to work on your short game. My family and I utilized Texas 9 event center last night for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday. The facility was perfect for the event and everyone truly enjoyed themselves. We received so many compliments on the setup, the views, and the facility itself. One highlight was the shuttling of guests from their vehicles to the event center. The staff were top-tier from the booking to the bartending. No need went unmet. Josh was very helpful and we would totally book an event here again in the future.

Big fan of this course! The staff obviously care about their profession, from check-in to turning in your cart. The grounds are always well-manicured, allowing for proper regeneration, with minimal interruption to your experience. Josh leads the team and as a beginner/novice golfer, it’s greatly appreciated that I always feel welcome here and encouraged to continue playing to build up my game. And a heck of a deal, it’s worth what they charge.

Went out for Thanksgiving and the experience was incredible. The staff was the epitome of customer service. Gave us a ton of information and even free donuts! Course was exactly as the staff and others described. Fairways were in the process of going dormant, but the greens were in great shape and rolling true. Will absolutely be back out there soon!

I recently had the pleasure of playing a round at Texas 9 Golf Course, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The pace of play was fantastic; we never felt rushed, and the flow was smooth from start to finish. This made for a very enjoyable and relaxing round of golf.

The greens were in top-notch condition, some of the best I've ever played on. They were well-maintained, rolled true, and provided a fair challenge. You can tell the grounds crew takes great pride in their work.

This course has great potential! The layout offers both forgiving and challenging options, depending on the tees. My friend and I were golfing and brought our girlfriends to ride along, and the staff kindly provided a 4-person cart so we could all enjoy the day together. The customer service was some of the best I’ve had at any course. My only suggestion for a 5-star rating would be improving course conditions.

Texas 9 is a hidden little gem but easy to find. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The clubhouse is very clean and tidy. There are plenty of facilities to practice chipping and putting. They have a great driving range with a self-pay golf ball dispenser. This is a quality par 3 golf course with one par 4 hole. The front and back tees make it fun for players of all levels. The course is cart path only so the fairways are in great condition and the greens are well maintained. The overall value for money with or without the golf cart really can't be beat. 5 out of 5 stars. I'll be coming here regularly!

Very well kept 9 hole course for such a low price. The staff were super nice there was an issue where one of our players weren’t updated to the tee time and they quickly found a solution for us and even gave us a couple tokens to hit the range for the inconvenience.

If you haven't played this course. You are absolutely missing out. If you are in need of sharping your iron. This is the spot. Pin locations are in tight spots and hazards are everywhere. Greens are small as they should be. This was my 1st time I had never heard Texas 9. But now the secret is out!. The staff is top notch and so are the carts. But it is absolutely walkable too. This will be the Friday warm up course!!!

This is a great experience! We had a party of 5 (4 for 7:41 and 1 at 7:51) and we were a few minutes late for our T-time but Josh made sure they got all 5 of us in within about 30 minutes of our initial T-time. Course is beautiful and has some amazing greens. Amazing 9hole course best I’ve played in Fort Worth.

This is the worst course out here in Dallas. It’s a simple 9 hole course which is in horrible shape. You have dead grass everywhere and have weeds growing on the greens. The practice facility is in terrible shape. Putting and chipping greens are horrible same shape as the course. When I went into the pro shop there was a bald guy that was very rude to me and just starred at me when I said hi. It’s like he didn’t want me there. Turns out he is the owner of Texas 9. Other staff members were very friendly but the owner is very rude. The range balls are in horrible shape too. You have balls that are cracked and barely have dimples. The guy picking on the range just parked his picker right in front of me like I wasn’t hitting. You also have people chipping of the greens I was so dumbfounded. This course is definitely not a place for better golfers. Now if your an amateur that’s starting out this could be the place but the prices of the range balls are crazy $15 for a large bucket. The only thing thats good about this place is the friendly staff except the bald headed owner.
