We went to my granddaughters volleyball meet. The gym had no seating for fans and almost no space for them. The tiled, soft surface is coming up in places and could be a tripping hazard. There are 5 courts, the place is quite noisy. Come early as parking is limited.

We love Roots! We have been involved in the Mini League for a few seasons now and the admin and coaches have done a wonderful job of investing in the development of the players. The 90 minute practices are great and are well organized and long enough to get a lot of work in. The tournaments are fun and are a great way to introduce the players to a game setting. I’m very excited for our family to continue to be a part of the Roots family for years to come!

I was here for a tournament. While the gym is a good fit for practices and maybe a game or two, I don't think it's great for a tournament.
PROS:
*Each court is sectioned off by nets so there are no loose balls interrupting games.
*Great indoor climate
*Waiting area with seats and tables
*Allows outside food and drinks
CONS:
*Expensive vending machines
*Court flooring is old and uneven
*No seating provided
*Too crowded for handicap persons to navigate through the facility
*Only one restroom, not enough stalls to accommodate the amount of people in a tournament
*The restroom smelled like fish
*Not enough parking for a tournament

It’s cold. It’s loud. The roof leaks. The floor is unstable. You have to bring your own chairs. Paint is flaking off the walls and there’s only one bathroom. I’m sure it makes a great practice facility but it’s not great for tournaments.

I've coached at a few different clubs, but the environment at Roots is awesome. The culture and environment that the directors and tenured coaches have worked to create here makes it feel like family. Nice, fairly new, indoor volleyball gym. Quite a few courts, sections divided with nets to guard you from balls. If you are boy the courts you'll get hit, beware and keep an eye out! There are tables and chair in the waiting area with available wifi if you want to work while the kids practice. The coaches are incredibly kind and helped pull my shy girl out of her shell. This is our second season with Roots. We’ve played for a few other teams in the area. Each club has their strengths and issues. What we found at Roots was more effort in developing all the kids as opposed to just the strongest players. The players still have to put in the work though…and this is true with any club. You definitely will get out of it what efforts you put in. However-we found that our player was encouraged to take some risk and make plays regardless of the outcome. She felt safer making mistakes because her team and coach just wanted her to try. I think that speaks volumes about the Roots’ overall philosophy.

Roots (formerly Eclipse) volleyball has been a great volleyball experience for my daughter. It's more than your typical club volleyball environment. From Heather and Lindsay on down most coaches stick around and that consistency makes a difference in the cumulative coaching experience for the girls. From a parent's perspective I REALLY appreciated how organized Heather is with all of the many details that come up throughout the season. It's easy to stay on top of things with Heather running the show. If you want a club that considers the girl AND the sport you should look into Roots!
