Not sure why we have a membership here when my 3 sons and I were kicked out of the basketball courts. Nothing stating the courts are closed to the public. Also, we are paying members, not the public. We were told it's, "not open to the public." Cool. So cancel our membership then? Gotcha, thanks.

I went for some documentation. My son has been with YMCA every year, and this year I wanted to continue, but I needed certain paperwork. The employee, Hanna, came across as rude — she didn’t greet or say “thank you.” No matter how many times I said “thank you,” there was no response. This is the first time I have experienced such an attitude at this location.

If they had 0 stars I would give them a 0 the staff was rude and we never received notifications of the changes no filters nothing. Our kids were attending 8 weeks swimming classes. It was absurd to not have quick shower after that chemical and chlorine swimming pool clore My child said they are horrible we are not going back and again 😡😡😡😡.

After our swimming lesson, we attempted to take a quick shower to rinse off the pool chemicals, particularly chlorine and other disinfectants which can cause skin irritation, especially for children. Unfortunately, a staff member at the front desk stopped us and stated that we were not allowed to use the showers.

I was very surprised and disappointed by this response. At the time, the showers were not occupied, and we were not attempting to use any gym-related facilities, only to quickly rinse off the chemicals for health and hygiene reasons before changing clothes. Denying children a brief rinse after swimming seems not only unreasonable but also potentially harmful.

Additionally, I must point out that the staff member’s demeanor was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. Her tone and the guy standing behind her laughing at us their attitude made the situation more upsetting, and I felt we were not being treated fairly. I am concerned that this may reflect discriminatory behavior, especially as there seemed to be no clear reason for the refusal beyond her personal judgment.

They did not clarify when we sign the menbership, we didn't see any policy or guidelines. Shower is a basic health need especially after swimming.

They just alienated all of the children during the summer time, which is actually baffling. Unfortunately, we are forced to cancel our membership and will be trying other kid friendly options in the city. This is just so unfortunate. Y'all shut down childcare and still try to charge me for a last month that I can't use without the childcare here. Not everyone has the luxury to drive to the other side of Arlington to go to the other locations. You don't give me 30 day notice of no childcare so I don't have to give 30 day notice to cancel. I signed up because childcare was advertised at this location. You suggest I let my 1 year old crawl around the gym? Moms can barely get a break for gym time and personal time so thank you YMCA.

Tyesha and Gale at the front desk are awesome! I had an issue and they handled it very friendly and professional! Tyesha went above and beyond and actually cares about people not just the bottom line. Also, the facility is always very clean and the pool is great!
Update: Be aware of the cancellation policy. You can only cancel in person and you have to give 30 days notice, or they will charge you for two more months instead of one.

This place was freezing cold when I got there. Probably around 55 degrees inside??? I mentioned it and they didn't seem to care. I could hardly stay and wait for my grandson to be done with practice. This was in the only hallway there. Rediculous. I was there Friday night at 6p.m.

Ebony( a ymca child care supervisor at the Central location) needs to be replaced immediately! She doesn't engage with the children. And l have never seen her leave her desk. She speaks poorly about the toddlers/babies in her care as well as her own staff. Which is unacceptable! Amber one of her employees DOES NOT NEED to be around special needs children! Please take your kids to the Mansfield location

I do not recommend after school care from this YMCA. My son has a disability and they aren’t understanding of that and suspends him constantly for his outbursts. This is unfair and liable for lawsuit. Their staff is incapable of handling children and should have better trained staff members. Only putting one star cause I have to.

Please do not send your child to the after school care at the YMCA. You'd be better off taking them to the Boys and Girls Club, or hiring a babysitter. There is no structure and many of the school locations have a violation from liscensing. The staff are not trained enough and some can't handle the overwhelming screaming children so they will cry or get upset. I am so disappointed the affect this has on mine and myself, never again!

The YMCA itself is pretty good. The lack of the 5th star is because the parking is a nightmare. We mostly go to take our 5 year old to activities. The kids swimming classes are great during the summer. The price is also great, especially when compared to competition. My daughter also attends several of the kids exercise activities and absolutely loves them. The staff is friendly and the facility is quite clean. The communication for cancelled classes is lacking but they do try to call (but making it through the list is likely time consuming). Many different machines are available for the adults. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

My wife and I used the Central YMCA of Arlington, TX this past month. We were only members for the month of June 2018 while we were visiting family in the area. The “Y” was FABULOUS for many many reasons. The membership check-in procedure was simple, straight forward and quick. The “Y” had a variety of group exercise programs that addressed people of all ages: kids, youth, young adults, working adults, as well as seniors. Plus, the facilities were spotless, all the staff helpful and patient, and the locker rooms, showers and bathrooms well appointed and clean! We were so busy working out indoors that we did not even have enough time to use the outdoor pool!

Lastly, the cost of membership was the lowest in North Texas! Central TMCA is a gem that more people should know about and utilize!

You can't say anything bad about this place. Decent gym with "FREE CHILD CARE" for the time you working out. The YMCA has a Basket Ball Court, Swimming Pool, Yoga Classes of different levels as well as an Intense Spin/Cycle Class. Restrooms have showers and Lockers. Say you want your child/children to learn and play sport's..Got uM! ⚽ 🏀 🏈 swim lessons..a lot more. Plus if you can catch a special going on your for a Low Low price. They really help you become a member.

YMCA of Arlington has a lot to offer. The facility is well kept and the variety of programs is really good. With membership you get great discounts on the classes and programs. My daughter loves the "camp" days that they have when there are teacher inservice days and as a member the cost is cheap in comparison to other options.
