After looking at several gyms by me and the conversations I had with staff at the gyms I decided this was my new gym! The managers were very informative and respectful. The gym is clean and the machines are nice and easy to use. Any time I have questions they have always been answered and I don’t feel like an idiot as other places have made me feel. I have been at this gym now for a month and suggest if your looking for a gym to better your health or for new years this is the place !

Scam!! Don’t sing up to this gym!!
I had my membership for 3 months and since I left town for work. I went there to cancel my membership and their employees told me to send an Email to abcfitness. I have called them all week because I keep getting a reply saying that β€œABC cannot assist me with that, and can’t handle cancellation”. It’s been 2 weeks and can’t still not cancel the membership. Their managers don’t answer and they are making it harder, meanwhile another moth was charged.

For a TOUR and fee information you are required to fill out all your personal info (name, address, phone number, email) and you HAVE to agree to receiving calls, mail, etc. There is no opt out option.

If you try to not check the boxes agreeing to this, the form will not submit and they refuse to give you the tour. I have been harassed since I made the mistake of not turning around and leaving immediately when I saw this. However I was polite and agreeable because I really wanted to get my health together.

Also their pricing is so complicated that they don’t even give you a flat answer with their rate. They have a book and you have to calculate it yourself.

Do yourself a favor and find a gym that has a simple monthly rate clearly stated and that shows you around without forcing you to agree to indefinite communications from them.

After I went to them I toured much better places with much more straight forward honest ways of conducting business.

These people are scammers! Consider yourselves warned.

SCAM! Would give zero stars if possible. Walked into gym to check out the child care and they roped me in with a 2 dollar trial and then persuaded me to add others onto my account for less then a dollar each so I did but moving a town over shortly after I needed to cancel. After not ever using there facility once they still charged me full price for all 3 of my family members and told me no refund. I tried canceling over the phone and was told I had to come in person. After making the long drive to see an associate the front desk proceeded to give me a piece of paper with a code on it telling me to email customer service. Then once emailed they told me it's a 30 day process with responsibility to pay all fees during the time. A $57 cancel fee per person. $97 in membership. $100 from annual fee. And then $210 for God knows what. My bank had to reimburse the $210 since they managed to pull it out of my savings without permission. I put a block on them through my bank then they managed to pull $310 out a month later from my debit when I never gave them access to my debit because otherwise why would I give them my checking account. I called back up to TruFit to be told that I had only cancelled my one account and not the other 2 when I was never informed that I needed to send 3 separate cancellation emails nor was I given 3 membership numbers when I showed up in person. I had to get a new debit card and am now on the verge of closing my bank account. This is the greatest scam I have ever been apart of in my 30years on this earth please avoid the trouble, headache and financial burden and never walk into this gym.

I have taken EVERY STEP that I was told to, by Gabe, at the amarillo Tru Fit to cancel mine and my husbands memberships and it STILL HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED. I ended up closing my bank account because I had a feeling(from being told by another former customer) that they would still try to continue charging my account for services I'm not using. I reached out to the location about cancelling and was told to send an email, and then i reached out to corporate/corporate customer service to check the status of my cancelation and was told there was no such thing in affect and they asked to update my billing info, I refused and stated I have already canceled our memberships. I explained that I have already tried to cancel the plans TWICE and did what I was told by Gabe, who is one of the fitness managers AT THE LOCATION.
This has been very annoying and inconvenient. I do not and would not recommend Trufit to ANYONE.

Avoid this gym unless you NEVER intend on leaving or enjoy playing phone tag and DEMAND LETTERS from collections companies. I physically came into this club to cancel my sons membership(A minor) and was to told by the front desk employee that only managers could assist in cancelling. I politely requested a call back by a manager and provided my cell phone. A call never came. Instead I chased after managers for the next couple of months. Eventually I was told that I could not cancel them membership with them I would have to call ABC Fitness their parent company. ABC Fitness does not appear to have US Based employeed. Once you speak with them they'll hae you e-mail a cancellation to them which is not actually good until 30 days later. At which point you will be charged for your monthly dues and annual renewal if it happens to be in that time period. But wait, Theres more......They claim they will draft your remaining membership amount but don't actually follow through. Instead, Your membership remains active for months until you receive a demand letter from what I can only assume is a shady collections agency who may or may not be based out of the US. Cancelling my 15 Year Old sons membership should have cost $11.00 I've not payed over $130.00 and wasted hours of my own time. My recommendation is to find a better run gym.

Scam Artists with a Dirty Gym

I was in Amarillo temporarily for work and needed a gym for just a short period. I made it absolutely clear that I only needed a membership for a month or two and that I would not sign up if there were any extra or hidden fees. The staff looked me in the eye and told me there weren’t. That was a lie.

They had me sign a long month-to-month contract and conveniently left out the fact that there was a $60 β€œannual enrichment fee” coming up. I canceled after 10 days of use because I left town earlier than expected. That’s when they hit me with the bill… Two full months of charges plus this garbage $60 fee that they never disclosed.

I should’ve read the fine print. That’s on me. But the fact that they intentionally withheld that information when I asked about it directly shows this was a deliberate bait and switch. If they had told me the truth, I never would have signed up. They know that. That’s why they didn’t.

And what exactly does this $60 enrichment fee go toward? According to them, it’s for cleaning and maintenance. That’s a joke. In the 10 days I was there, the bathrooms and sauna were disgusting. Floors were black with filth, trash stayed on the ground for days, and the place smelled awful. The sauna was a health hazard and I never once saw it cleaned. Multiple machines were broken every time I came in and stayed broken.

So to sum it up, they lied to get my money, they tricked me into signing a contract I never would’ve agreed to if I had been told the truth, and they charged me a bogus fee for β€œcleaning” a gym when their locker room looks and smells like it hasn’t been cleaned in months.

This gym membership is money grab built on shady tactics and zero accountability. I was scammed out of my money and they refused to refund a single cent. Absolutely disgraceful.

My personal trainer that i built a good rapport with left due to sketchy things behind the scene. I was told I would get a replacement trainer as I was paying for weekly sessions. Reached out to them after not hearing about my replacement for 2 weeks. I was told someone would get ahold of me. It took about a month and me asking to talk to corporate before they got me a replacement.

I did a few sessions with the new trainer but never built a good rapport like my first one. I kept having to tell my trainer about my limitations due to physical deformity of my joints. He had me do an exercise that caused injury to my hip. Went to see orthopedic surgeon who told me to stop training and go to physical therapy.

I went to cancel my membership and got nothing but the run around. The manager is always busy and ppl at front desk seem to follow the narrative. Made 4 to 5 trips up there trying to speak with the manager as well as made multiple phone calls on several days. They put me on hold with no end in sight, was hung up on several times. In the meantime I moved out of town even more reason not to go to the gym. Finally got the email address to send request to end membership. They gave me a tiny piece of paper with some confirmation number on it to put in subject line that could easily be lost. Sent in request. Was told it would take 2 months to stop payment. My cc became compromised so I went and paid out the 2 months worth of personal training in person. Was told they would send me an email con formation of me doing that. I never got it only the receipt in hand for payment made. When another payment came out for thr monthly membership through my bank, past the 60 days I called them with no response. Finally received phone call few days later from a guy saying that that was the last payment. Another month has passed and I got another withdraw. Called up there and person said it was someone on my account. Told them I signed my daughter up who is 12 the same time I signed myself up as kids cannot workout without membership or be in gym without parent membership. Told the guy I came in and canceled everything asked to talk to corporate. I was told he could not give me the contact information for them. Only thing he could do was put me on hold for over 45 minutes then I got hung up on. Called back and he continued to say the manager is with a client. Getting rid of this membership has been a disaster.

I originally made a Google review based on my 1st personal trainer. The workers requested a review as I walked in the door one day and tried to give 5 starts on my phone without me writing an actual review. I told them to hold on as I planned to write an actual review. I have to say since the trainer left customer service has gone down dramatically. Would never recommend this gym as getting rid of the membership is worse than going through a divorce. If you have to cancel your membership get everything in writing and record all phone calls. I will have to reach out to the BBB and will go in person once again but will get the run around like ive gotten for the past 3 to 4 months.

First off this place is filthy. I'm on business in the area and I wanted to try out gyms close to me before I made a commitment. The team member advised me to sign up for a membership instead because the week pass at this facility is $100. I've never heard of a gym charging that much for a day or week pass it sounds like a scam. Also make sure you're out of the gym at least 15 minutes before they close or they will rudely kick you out. I wish I would've read the reviews before signing up. Please avoid this facility.

Amarillo Texas worst gym in town. Machines constantly broken, one has been broken for over a month. What am i even paying for? Why the hell did i pay 50 dollar fee for what?
Soap always out in the bathrooms, paper towels gone, one sinks faucet is falling appart. Waste of money. Dont go here.

Great equipment, disgusting facility. The locker rooms do not get cleaned, the walls are yellow, the floors haven’t seen a mop in ages, the toilets are grimy, there are clumps of hair everywhere and none of it ever gets touched. On the weekends every trash can on the gym floor will be overflowing and paper towels/cleaning spray for the machines will be empty. Complaints go ignored.

Great gym until you need to cancel. Just make sure WHEN you need to cancel your membership, talk to someone AT the club location (their "Customer Care" seems to be 3rd party, incoherent, inefficient, they'll waste your time, and it's garbage), and make sure you tell them 30 days before you need to cancel. They will make you continue to pay if your payment due date falls within the 30 days. I tried to cancel through Customer Care and them wasting my time cost me an additional payment. Facilities and Staff: 5 stars. Business Administration and Account Management: 0 stars.

The facilities are nasty. The bathroom is never clean even when the cleaning lady is there I see her dusting off equipment but never scrubbing a toilet. I have almost pissed my pants trying to make it home to use the restroom too scare to touch even the door handles inside of TruFits bathroom.
