A traditional karate school with an eye to the future, the Tyler Karate Academy is dedicated to develiping self-confidence, self-discipline, and self-defense skills in a fun and exciting manner while maintaining the elements of honor and respect that have caused the traditional arts to pass the tests of time.
We teach the oldest and most traditional style of Okinawan Karate known as Matsumura Orthodox Shorin Ryu.

If you are looking for a traditional karate school with great instructors, a nice facility, and a positive learning environment look no further than Tyler Karate Academy. Sensei Batson is a fountain of knowledge and teaches a great group of karate-ka who are welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this academy for those who crave a traditional martial arts system and want the added benefit to their overall health that accompany it.

We loved having the kids in karate with Tyler Karate Academy. They were knowledgeable, thoughtful and patient with them . The kids looked forward to going each week and while the youngest didn’t always do her best, they still talk about it many years later. Thanks for making such a great impression Nathan and Jessica and allowing us to be a part of the family.

My son started with Sensei Nathan and Jessica when he was 16, and worked hard to earn his black belt. Not only did karate help him stay in shape physically, but it gave him confidence in himself. Karate teaches perseverance, determination, patience, control, leadership skills, and respect. The dojo becomes a karate family, and forms friendships that last. Nathan and Jessica love what they do and it shows!

Nathan and Jessica trained my kids for several years from green belt to black belt. They did a great job teaching them traditional Okinawan karate. My kids learned a great deal. If you want to learn a very practical martial art - this is the place. I recommend it.

I can honestly say both Sensie are very professional,down to earth,stay true to traditional martial arts in every way. I have had the opportunity and luck to become friends with both, I have been even more fortunate to be able to call Sensie Nathan brother. They not only teach self defense,they also teach intergity,honor and values. I recommend TKA to all ages,check them out you will not regret it!
