Best thing about this place is the location.

This gym is essential 1 step above a hotel gym. Very, very old equipment with limited free weights. Ceiling is too low to do pull ups. 1 smith machine but no barbell rack.

Pretty clean and I like that they have a coffee machine and ice machine.

Been a member for a few years now. Only complaint is that the cardio equipment is a bit dated. It’s functional, but has limitations. Elliptical machines bind up if you want to go faster than 70 rpm…. annoying, but tolerable.

We worked out here while staying at the Holiday Inn near Jamaica Beach. It is a great gym. Very clean and has everything you need for a good pump. We got to meet the owner, he’s a really cool guy! Highly recommend if you are in Galveston!

It's a small gym with 2 rooms and a lot of machines packed in. One side has a short ceiling so tall people will have trouble doing overhead exercises or pullups. On the side with cardio machines the ceiling is a little taller that allows for those activities. There's not a lot of options for gyms in this area. As long as it's not busy it's functional

My favorite gym I have ever had a membership at. The owner Mike is so amazing. Showed me how to use every piece of equipment & is always so sweet everytime I talk to him. He’s very personable and knows everyone by their name. Very welcoming gym with great equipment. It’s also open 24/7 & i always feel safe coming here late at night. Best gym on the island!

By far the best Gym on the west end. We drive from Jamaica Beach to use this Gym. The equipment is well maintained and the facility is clean. The owner (Mike) is a great source of information and is always willing to share his knowledge. If you live on the west end, I highly recommend this Gym.

I love this gym... It has everything and open 24/7... This allows me to have a very flexible gym schedule...

The gym is very clean and they are following strict CDC/Covid guidelines... Its never super busy and due to Covid has a 10 people limit... I have never seen 10 people in here at one time...

The owner is very kind and cares about his establishment... I would highly recommend this gym...

Gym was great and even though it's small the owner maximized the use of space with very modern equipment. It's something for everyone in this gym and you cant go wrong here. The owner was very nice, inviting and very instructional. If you like privacy and a non judgmental environment, this is your place.

2 other patrons rude, talked down to newcomers, and made unsolicited rude comments towards my child exercising with me. He has been to gyms before and I remain right beside him. Unsolicited remarks are unappreciated. Plus my child had been running on treadmill at 5 mph with no problems until an employee arrived and told him and him alone he could only go 3 mph. Machines crammed into space as well. Very little area to do free weight lifting. Disappointed.

The owner (Mike) makes sure to call everyone by name, engages them with conversation, walks around and cleans the equipment, and plays good music. There are plenty of treadmills and cardio machines as well as hand-run machines and free weights available. He also provides water and coffee. The gym is super clean.

No, there's no tanning bed or pool. There's a clean gym with considerate patrons (there's always that ONE person tho), a great owner, and an adorable cat named Pumpkin. Everything is kept in great shape and that makes it easier to get yourself in great shape. You can't even complain about the hours. You're given a 24/7 access code.

A great gym to go to if you need a place to keep the muscles strong. Only thing I didn't like about it was the fact they didn't have an actual Squat and bench rack. The one that have is a Smith machine, and those never feel right to me. Overall a great place though, and the staff is very friendly.

I joined West End Gym for a month during an extended stay in Galveston. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. It is kept very clean and open 24 hours a day (no excuses!). It doesn't have every piece of equipment in the world, but it does have everything you need to beat the heat/humidity and put together a quality cardio or weight training program. Towels and their high tech ice/water machine are nice amenities. Most importantly, this is a friendly gym community. Mike (the owner) and everyone else I interacted with were great.
