We Love Wylie Elite!

We’ve been with Wylie Elite for years now and have had multiple kids go through their tumbling program—we honestly can’t recommend it enough! The coaches are amazing, the environment is super positive, and the focus on safety and proper technique is top-notch.

The classes are well-structured but still fun, and we’ve seen so much progress in our kids over time. Whether they’re just starting out or working on advanced skills, the coaches know how to meet them where they’re at and help them grow with confidence.

One of the things we love most is that they take the time to correct technique in a way that builds confidence—not fear—and they do it while keeping safety front and center. You can really tell they care about each kid’s success and well-being.

The coaching staff is the heart of it all. Everyone we’ve worked with has been kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely great with kids. Under Jonathan Thain’s leadership, the whole gym runs with a high level of care and professionalism, while still feeling really welcoming and supportive.

The facility is clean, well-equipped, and always full of great energy. Our kids love going, and we love knowing they’re learning safely and having a blast.

I reached out to Elite Cheer as a cheer coach in McKinney. I wanted to get more experience with things that were lacking in my own program. The owner was extremely generous with his time and helping me out, and allowed me to try spotting different levels of tumbling and coached me when I wasn’t sure about something. Wylie Elite is truly something special. My daughter has been attending since she was just 4 years old. We began with tumbling classes, and that’s when I first learned about All-Star Cheer. She started out on the exhibition team, Spirit, and then moved on to Tiny Twinkles.

Like any journey, ours had a few bumps. At age 5, my daughter experienced some bullying from another child. I reached out to the coaches, and they handled the situation immediately and effectively. It was clear to me then that Wylie Elite takes bullying seriously and prioritizes the emotional well-being of its athletes.

One of her coaches from Tiny Twinkles also worked with her in private lessons, and in just three months, she mastered all her level 1 tumbling and began working on level 2. The progress was incredible to witness.

Eventually, we made the decision to join Cheer Athletics Rockwall due to its closer location. Despite this, Wylie Elite remained kind, supportive, and welcoming. When Trista and Jonathan became owners, I had a meaningful conversation with Coach Jonathan. He expressed that their goal is not to hold athletes back but to help them succeed—wherever that may be. They understand that sometimes another gym may be a better fit, and they truly want what’s best for each child.

When my daughter reached her level 3 goals, I knew I wanted her to train with Coach Jonathan for level 4. We had heard he was a “tough” coach—but now we understand that he’s tough because he believes in his athletes and is deeply committed to helping them reach their goals. At just 8 years old, my daughter absolutely loves his class. He pushes her to be better while also showing her how much he sees in her. She looks forward to every session.

We also take privates at Wylie with Coach Nick and Coach Cody, and we’ve had the pleasure of working with Coach Brandon as well. I wholeheartedly recommend all of them—not just for skill development, but for their attention to technique and their ability to build confidence. Coach Nick, a Cheer Athletics alum, definitely gave my daughter “fan-girl” excitement! Since working with Nick and Cody, she’s grown into a stronger flyer, and her confidence has soared. She’s learning new skills consistently and, most importantly, loves every minute of it.

What stands out the most is that these coaches truly understand that Callie is only 8. They push her in the best ways—encouraging without ever pressuring. She constantly asks when she gets to see them again.

Wylie Elite will always feel like a second home to us. My daughter has big dreams of becoming a Panther, and there’s no doubt this gym will play a major role in helping her get there.

Wylie Elite is where my oldest daughter began her cheer journey. It’s where she met some of the best people and coaches—many of whom she still loves and respects to this day. My youngest also got her start here, joining a team when she was little and taking tumbling lessons with Coach Jonathan and Coach Maddie.

Even when my youngest was on a tiny show team and broke her leg, the Coach went above and beyond. He held my daughter at a competition so she could still be part of the experience and cheer on her teammates. That kind of care and dedication speaks volumes about the heart of this program.

The coaches at Wylie Elite consistently ask for effort, commitment, and a willingness to grow. Like all kids, mine had days where they didn’t want to listen or follow directions, but the coaches were steady in their expectations: work hard, put in the effort, and accept correction. Correction was never framed as a bad thing; it was the key to improvement.

Wylie Elite laid a strong, positive foundation for both of my girls. Today, I’m proud to say that one of them will be cheering in college on a scholarship. I’m incredibly thankful for the role Wylie Elite played in shaping her into the athlete and person she is today.

But when it comes to the coaches, the people who keep it running an other parents being down right hateful an unprofessional in a sense of calling my niece out for something she has no control or idea of. They could done it a better way an talked to her parents but instead they were down right hateful to her about it. Age 11. That's so sad they are more worried about a $20 bill than being a professional an allowing her to be able to enjoy herself an discuss the issue with the parents not just kicking her out in the middle of an event an embarrassing her in front of everyone along with other parents. If I could give 10 stars to this gym I would! My daughter loved training here in the homeschool class this past year. Her tumbling and love/respect for the sport has grown tremendously as a result of the staff and friends met here. If you have not tried this gym you are missing out!!! 2025 update! We are still loving Wylie Elite and can't imagine what life would be like without the staff here. This was the first year under new ownership. We love Jonathan and Trista, they have both poured so much amazing knowledge into my kiddo and lift her up every chance they get. This gym is a second home. My daughter has grown mentally and physically during her time here and I know she will continue to do so under the guidance of the amazing staff. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the new owners and many seasons to come, I've already seen so much growth from them. We started at Wylie Elite in December 2020 after our 6yr old daughter said she was determined to learn her back handspring series before the 2021 cheer season. I am so glad we did! The staff is absolutely amazing. Being a parent that was never involved in cheer and knew absolutely nothing about it, they made us feel welcomed and explained everything. I enjoy seeing her progress every week and watching her determination. We have only been attending one class a week for 10 weeks and I know at the rate she is improving she will have her back handspring series accomplished before July. Coach Natalie was our first coach and she was absolutely amazing working with her and teaching her ways to practice at home. We have now moved up classes with coach Jordy and our daughter LOVES her. I have watched most all of the coaches interacting with the girls and the encouragement they give with the appropriate corrections is AMAZING!

We absolutely love this gym! Piper has just finished her 4th season, (second as an elite level) and will be trying out for her 5th soon! The coaches really care for the girls, not just physically with their skills, but with mental blocks and any kind of emotional issues they may be struggling with! This gym is unprofessional, not willing to work with parents, meeting to address bullying that resulted in them telling us what we wanted to hear with no change. Wylie Elite provided so much more to us than cheer. My daughters confidence grew like crazy, a passion came out in her for tumbling, cheer, and being on a team. My daughter started in the Tiny tumbling class when she was 3 without any skills. She is 5 now and can do a back bend kickover. She almost has her walkover, but needs minimal help. Starting from the trainers all the way to " ownership/ business management" Do not recommend this place unless you're Caucasian/white. My daughter, Scarlett, started at Wylie Elite a little over two years ago. With the help of her coaches, she has made her way from not knowing how to do a cartwheel to working on her backhand spring.
She started out with the sweet encouragement from Coach Natalie, and now Scarlett is working with Coach Jonathan. He gives her the support and encouragement she needs while not letting her slack off. I think Coach Jonathan is wonderful with Scarlett, and so does she.

There is always something new and fun in the store area: shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, shorts, sports bras, bows, and more.
The lobby also has a couple vending machines for drinks and snacks.
There's quite a bit of seating for you to watch your tumbler, too.

My only complaint is that there is no lobby etiquette. There are so many people on their phones/tablets playing so many different things... none of them quietly. I wish WE would impose a headphone rule.

I have been an athlete at Wylie Elite for three years now and I love it! The gym teaches good teamwork skills and work ethic, as well as strong athletic ability. The coaches are very encouraging and push all of the athletes, whether in classes or on a team, to reach their maximum potential. This Gym is a GOD send!! My girls LOVE ALL the coaches and their friends that they have made. There is absolutely NO favoritism at all and is one of the only gyms where these girls are all truly sisters in Christ and for Christ. Not a practice goes by where my girls are not embraced from a teammate. The skills that they have developed while there is amazing. No other gym has progressed them as has this one. We took a short break when my oldest broke her arm at school. We enrolled her in another gym to keep her conditioned when in actuality it regressed her.

We have been here for almost four years collectively on the ALLSTAR team. And we plan to stay for as long as we can. Proud to be a part of the WE family!!
