We absolutely love the coaches and atmosphere here! We felt welcomed and wanted from the start. My son is always excited to come to class and try new things. He’s even worried about being late — that’s how dedicated he is! Having him actually want to come tells a lot! I started at this studio a few years ago and have loved it. As an adult I didn't start out with very much flexibility. I started karate with the intention of getting a good workout to stay in shape and, hopefully, develop a little flexibility. Along the way I have had ample opportunities to work on both. I have also benefited from developing more confidence. I get opportunities to work on moves that challenge my agility and flexibility without feeling pressured to go beyond my abilities. The staff are friendly and always help me feel welcome. There are also several fun activities.

We did a free trial to see if my son would focus enough and to see if he would enjoy it. I was so impressed with Jeff and how he worked with my easily distracted Son. We couldn't resist signing up with BLK West Jordan due to how well They worked with him and his focus. Not only is he getting physical exercise, but he is learning to remember things more. He enjoys going to Karate and learning all the new forms, kicks and punches. I was surprised at how much he remembers the patterns like in Hyper-Form 1. The facility is always clean and welcoming.

I cannot thank the team enough for what they do for my daughter! I have already seen such a huge change in Kimberlee. She is coming out of her shell more and already has increased confidence. I love it here. My son has been going since he was 8 or so and I started going about a two years ago. I has been great for me. I've lost about two pant sizes and a shirt size, feel better and am slowly getting better at the karate as well. I've grown greatly in strength as well. As an adult, its a great time for me, and I enjoy doing the work with my son. The instructors do a very good job working you hard and also teaching you the self defense skills/karate moves to do well. They have always been receptive to questions and always helpful. I would recommend to any adult looking for something to keep them active and add to their skill sets. Its very fun for me.

I joined the adult program several years ago and have really enjoyed my time in the studio. There is a good variety of material which breaks things up from class to class so its not the same every night. The class schedule is also flexible which helps when life gets in the way of getting to class. To me the Black Belt Training class is where the real fun starts as that is when you get to start sparing and working with weapons. All in all it has been a great experience and allowed both myself and my daughter to get our blackbelts in 2019.

This is an update to my last review. I started training at Bobby Lawrence Karate West Jordan in 2009. I trained for about 2 1/2 to 3 years, and had a great time doing so. When my son was old enough to start we enrolled him into the school. The fantastic instructors not only helped my son break out of his shell, but have helped him with almost every aspect of his life!
After my son had been at the West Jordan school for a few years, I decided that it was time for me to start back up again. Martial Arts has been a big part of my life for the last almost 26 years, and Bobby Lawrence Karate has been a big part of that. I would strongly encourage anyone both young or older who would like to try martial arts to join Bobby Lawrence Karate.

My little family has been so blessed for finding Jeff and the BLK family! Our son was struggling with aggression, self control and respect for others to the point he was becoming unbearable to live with. I always heard that karate was the BEST thing for the overactive, full of energy child, and my thoughts were "why would I want to teach this child more ways to hit or fight?". Boy was I wrong. Our son has been with BLK since last October and has become so respectful, calm and more able to self regulate! I like how they are related to outside of this karate school. They require you to be good anywhere anytime to be promoted. Students must sign a piece of paper that they understand 4 important attitudes (courtesy, respect, discipline, focus) and parents and school teachers are also required to sign the paper if your child has those good attitudes at home and school. To be honest my 7 year old autistic son almost failed because of his bad attitude at school but we talked about it a lot and he wanted to be promoted so he tried really hard. And it worked! I'm so thankful for them that they teach kids mental strength, patience and respect.

We love BLK! I have 2 boys who go there, and they love it! They love karate, and have been going there for 1.5 years. It has helped with their confidence, manners, respect, courage, and more. One of my sons was always very quite, and his teachers always had a hard time hearing him. He became louder after starting karate, and it made a huge difference. My other son seemed to get angry a lot, and was able to deal with his anger better after starting karate. The instructors are awesome. I love how they teach about bettering yourself in life. BLK is much more than just good kicks and punches.
