Please taper the floor at the base of the MoonBoard so we can stand on the feet. Itβs very frustrating to climb on, with the way it is now you can barely use the lower row of feet without dropping your heels into the carpet. Outside of that this is a phenomenal gym and the staff have been amazing every time Iβve visited.

The yoga and climbing at Contact are top notch. I go to yoga classes consistently and the instructors are always well prepared, attentive and very personable. The routes for bouldering and ropes are fun and there is a good variety of styles.

We've loved coming to this gym for their trial membership & will be getting memberships. It's the kind of place where you don't even want to leave a review so it stays a hidden gem, but they deserve it! Briana was such a great yoga instructor, one of the best classes I've been to in a long time and Rebecca and Kaden (if I remembered their names right) have been such a great help and are joyful people to be around! It's clean and welcoming :)

This Climbing Gym is amazing! I have been climbing for 30 years, indoor outdoor, sport and traditional. This an amazing facility and the staff are very helpful and safe. I appreciate them and this facility as my 15 yr old son recently started climbing and his experience has been awesome! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

I only used the bouldering area.
The routes and holds were varies and interesting. The staff is friendly. This is one of my favorite bouldering guns and I look forward to coming whenever I'm in St George.

What an amazing place to climb! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were new to climbing and they taught us to climb safely. It's one of the few activities where all of my kids (ages 5-14) loved it and wanted to come back. We now have 4 excited climbers in the family and it's thanks to this gym and their staff!

Great place to climb when you are just a beginner, when you are advanced, when it is too hot outside, when it is too cold outside, when you only have a short time, when you have all day.....ANYTIME. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Great place, the guy at counter is really chill. Climbing is good, doing the belaying test was cool too.
I would have just wanted to do the lead test with their ropes.
If you want to do it you have to bring your own ropes, not the best when travelling.
Overall i would definitely recommend and go again.

Good gym, but their setting has slipped in the past year or so, particularly with the bouldering. They increased their prices, but you get nearly no amenities compared to other gyms at that price.
It's also disappointing that they don't have a more overhanging boulder section; they only have caves and very slight overhang, so you'll have to use the spray wall or moonboard instead.

Went to take my son to climb at Contact. He has climbed at many gyms across the US and Canada and I wanted to watch him climb. After my son paid and signed his agreement I was told that I also had to waive all my rights if I wanted to observe my son climb. I Informed the staff that I didn't want to sign their waiver if I didn't have the opportunity to review and properly negotiate terms. They told me no and that if I didn't sign it that they wouldn't allow me to remain on the property. I told them that if they were going to kick me out then I will simply leave. They didn't seem to care. I have never had that happen before in any of the climbing gyms I've been to. Very curt staff and unprofessional. I cannot comment on the facility because I was kicked out before I was able to actually see it. If you want to be treated like a number and be in subjection and cowtow to their power trip, then this is your place. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I'm only writing this because I was solicited to write a review. I will not be going back.

This is the first time my husband Evan and I have been to a climbing gym outside of our home country. It was a nice treat to compliment out outdoor climbing trip with sessions at the gym as well. We really liked the training space upstairs. It was spacious with a wide variety of free weights, benches, weight plates as well as squat racks, and hanging bars and rings. We also really liked the spray wall they have upstairs as well. It was a treat to learn that if you have a pass, you can also take advantage of the yoga studio and join a class on the same day you visit. We really loved taking the yin class after our evening climbing session on the Tuesday. <3

Contact Climbing Gym is easily one of the best gyms Iβve been to. Since itβs relatively new, the walls and holds are still fresh, making for a great climbing experience. I especially love the top rope wallsβtheyβre high and offer a great variety of routes for all skill levels. The gym also has plenty of bouldering problems, along with a MoonBoard and a well-equipped training area, perfect for improving strength and technique. The facility is always clean, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend it to any climber!

In town visiting family, and cannot leave St George without giving a massive thanks to 2 staff members: Savannah and Rob. Savannah was super helpful in getting us signed up (the flexibility of the 10-session e-card is exactly what we needed) and giving us several great pointers to get acquainted with the facility. Rob was absolutely amazing at helping me learn to belay my 2 young kids. He has a wealth of climbing experience, makes an excellent teacher, and manages to be highly safety-conscious while remaining easygoing in his approach with noobs like us. This is a fantastic place where my daughter has grown confident in tackling new challenges, we have learned new skills, and all have grown closer as a unit. Thanks so much for enriching our time in St George, we hope to return very soon!

SO HOT HERE. I actually like contact. Itβs a good climbing gym. However, in the summer months the heat in unbearable. Last time I went there it was over 86 degrees INSIDE. On top of that youβre doing physical activity and sweating like crazy. The chalk was dripping off of my hands with my sweat.
I donβt know if their AC was broken or if they just chose not to run it as much as they should, but it was horrible.
The only reason Iβm giving 2 stars is to hopefully get someoneβs attention to get the AC up! Like I said, I like the gym so the score will go up if they crank the AC.

I have been to a few climbing gyms in Utah, and this one has a really great set up. There are separate sides for bouldering and rope climbing, and on the second floor there is an exercise room with equipment.
I love that the staff will teach you how to use the ropes and the equipment, and that they have a process where rope climbers can find a climbing partner. It's a whiteboard, but it works haha.
They change their routes often so you almost always have a new challenge.
It is does feel kind of pricey, but it is a great gym and really fun.

I'm on a long road trip down from Canada, and recently stopped in at Contact Climbing to get some local tips and beta for the area. I was blown away with how welcoming and friendly the gym staff were. Rob in particular gave me helpful tips on crags in the area and where to camp, which resulted in some really great experiences. The gym itself had great setting and lots of additional features like various climbing boards, gym equipment, and a yoga studio. With charge in my devices, a much needed shower, and a future complementary climb, this experience left me feeling absolutely rejuvenated. Thanks so much!

A great climbing workout or fun relaxing climbing time, whichever you are looking for. We got a bigger group of friends and all went together which made it way fun.
Tip: Plan ahead if you need to get belay certified. It can take 20-40 mins depending on your experience level. ANYONE who is going to belay must pass off their certification. (Once you get certified they give you a contact gym rubber tag for your harness)

route setting is a 3/10 and keeps worsening. all routes have the same soulless feel. Itβs a steep price and is abusing the power of being the only climbing gym. They require you to use a grigri, so if youβre looking to top rope be ready to spend an extra 90 dollars. On top of a 70ish dollar membership they charge you a 45 dollar initiation fee. As a seasoned climber as well as former gym employee and route setter, I have climbed at every single gym in Utah and nearly 100 gyms in the US and Canada as I have traveled with my partner for competitions as she is a nationally ranked competitive climber. I have been climbing at Contact for years now, I was even there on their very first opening day. However due to my experience on Apr 4, 2023 it is unlikely I will ever come back. I came in to climb and ended up buying a new pair of Scarpas. I should have been charged $200.80 but ended up paying OVER $1000 for the shoes which also left me strapped for cash for the rest of my road-trip to a competition in LA. Over the next few months I would spend several hours on the phone with my banks customer service, as well as with Contact. Rob, a senior employee at the gym was often difficult to reach, and sometimes blatantly rude to me as I tried to resolve this frustrating situation. At no point was I ever offered any type of compensation, not even a day pass. I still have yet to see all of the money owed to me, and at this point itβs unlikely I ever will. Due to these circumstances I cannot recommend anyone climb here and I myself will opt to enjoy climbing outside instead of in the gym when I am visiting southern Utah. 1 star for decent aesthetic and modern hold types.
**UPDATE** Jeff, the owner of the gym kindly contacted me and resolved the matter within 2 weeks of my posting this review.

This place is great for those who want to improve their climbing skills, exercise without some of the traditional means, and to really challenge yourself.
This is one of the top climbing gyms you will find. The place is clean and the staff members are very courteous.
They have bouldering, top rope, and lead rope routes, with a place for beginners get started, as well as classes for climbing. There is also a yoga studio, and gym area.
You can pay for a single entry which is the more pricey option, or a punch pass, followed by a monthly membership. They have all the great to rent if you are wanting to try this sport without buying the equipment.

I stayed in St. George for a few weeks while on a climbing roadtrip and visited Contact on rain and rest days. Amazing gymβclean and spacious. Boulders are thoughtfully set, unique, and varied in style. Fitness area equipment is all in great shape. I also took a few yoga classes which were all excellent and taught by knowledgeable instructors, they have many different types of classes depending on what youβre feeling. Everyone who works there is incredibly nice and helpful, you can tell right away itβs a community and people really care about each other. Loved the vibe!

We were hoping for rock but got rain and.....Contact saved the day - friendly, engaging setting, super friendly staff and an excellent facility overall. Much as we would just as soon not have to make a return visit, would do so with a smile.
Much thanks Contact - it was an excellent day of pulling on plastic.

Love this gym, the staff are so personable and friendly. I learned to climb at this gym and was nervous at first to but I always felt welcomed here and they explain everything you need to know.
The yoga is great, this is the reason I joined the gym in the first place. They used to have a mommy and baby class but unfortunately it is no longer on the schedule. They also cancelled their childcare hours so I am no longer able to climb during the day so I sadly cancelled my membership because of that.

Fun bouldering routes.
I just have one complaint: There are too few down-climb holds. The setters expect climbers to drop from great heights. As an older climber, my knees and ankles don't like that. I avoid some of their bouldering routes just because of the scarcity of down-climb holds.
UPDATE: Went to Contact gym again and there were plenty of down-climb jugs. Thank you!! Made bouldering much more enjoyable.

I had one of the best experiences ever with my young family! My wife, 5 yr old, 3 yr old and 9 month went to check it out and climb.
It was our first time at Contact and the first time my children have done indoor climbing.
The general manager Rob taught my kids the basics of climbing in such a kind and friendly manner they now LOVE climbing.
My wife and I were worried that we wouldn't get to climb because we would be watching the kids. However, with the friendly staff and toys they have available our children were kept occupied and we could climb together.
We're definitely going back to Contact. I also noticed the gym and yoga studio look very good and there's even an area to get some work done!
5 stars all round! Amazing place to have in St George

Great place to climb, cross train with weights or take a yoga class. The staff is super friendly and happy to help with any questions you might have. They offer classes or training as well as offering all the gear you might need to rent or buy. Good for all skill levels.

In A Nutshell:
-Contact Climbing Gym is a great place to learn how to climb or to continue your current training.
-I received excellent professional instruction on the basics of knots, climbing and belaying.
-I love the abundance of various climbing wall levels 5.7 to 5.12+
-The facility is very spacious w/ short and high walls for climbing and bouldering.
-There is also a yoga classroom which we used to do a session to stretch out after climbing.
-You can also rent shoes, harnesses and chalk bags.
Overall, the vibe here is very welcoming and supportive!

The staff here is AWESOME! They have βcorrectedβ us a couple of times on safety techniques but have done it in such a friendly and helpful way that we didnβt feel bad or embarrassed at all. The thing that I appreciate the most though is how they have acted around closing time. With 5 minutes left they came over the speaker and said βattention climbers we have 5 minutes left so make sure you enjoy your time and get those last climbs in.β We donβt like making a habit of keeping people out late working but I was definitely looking forward to one last climb and I really appreciate this mentality from the staff! Everyone was very happy and friendly to us as we walked out a few minutes late. This was an experience that we keep us coming back again and again!

Over priced and the both the owners and part owners were all around rude and not very good with people. Theyβre the only place in town and they know they can get away with subpar service.
As a side note the employees are super underpaid and act accordingly.

Loved the place and had a little bit of everything (bouldering, top roping, lead climbing, training area, yoga, and weight lifting equipment). Thought the grading on the routes were totally fair and spot on. The staff were super helpful, kind, and informative- especially Rob. My boyfriend and I were visiting from CA on a trip to visit Zion National Park. We went here since we both rock climb back home and Rob had amazing advice for us on how to navigate through Zion, as well as helpful pieces of advice and recommendation on hikes based on our skill level. 10/10 couldnβt recommend more!! Definitely made our trip more fun!

The staff were great with teaching safety and showing you how to tie knots and belay a partner.
I fell off a boulder path and twisted my ankle. All the staff were really great- truly empathetic. So were the other customers. It's a great atmosphere. The staff were quick to assist. They calmed me and provided basic aid, their main concern being my comfort and condition. They did not rush me off the mat or admonish me for not landing well. It just happens sometimes. Even despite my slip I had a great time and would love to go back when my ankle is better.

Fun and clean gym, perfect for the burning hot days, when hitting actual rock or trails is unpleasant. The gym is roughly half bouldering half rope. There is also a shower available in both changing rooms and a pretty big training area complete with weights, squat racks, barbells, benches, etc. The staff and owners were also welcoming and happy to help.
All in all, good experience. Only downside is that it is definitely on the expensive side when compared to other rock climbing gyms.

Contact is a privately owned gym that has a community vibe with facilities that rival even the best and biggest commercial gyms in the nation. Better still than the expertly set climbing walls and extensive training resources are the people that make this gym one of a kind. The ownership team, desk staff and setting crew have built an integral and tight knit local community where people of all ability levels can come in, feel accepted, and have their climbing success fostered personally. Are you a beginner climber looking dip your toes in and see what this experience is all about? Expect to come into a judgement free zone where the staff are happy guide you through your learning experience or direct you to some of the gymβs comprehensive educational resources and classes. Are you an expert climber looking for targeted training activities in between your outdoor projecting sessions? Expect to climb on masterfully set routes set by their seasoned setting team that are rotated with high frequency, or head up to the mezzanine where youβll find a Moon Board and a wealth of training tools. During my time climbing at Contact, Iβve seen the Southwest Utah climbing community finally get a venue they can call home and where theyβre able to convene with other community members. Iβve also seen budding climbers who got into the sport expressly because the gym opened up in town, whose experiences have flourished over the less than two years Contact has been open, and who have bright futures ahead of them because the staff have personally fostered their climbing journey and ensured that they had everything they needed to succeed. The sense of community and camaraderie at Contact is truly something magical that is lost on the large, sterile commercial gyms that are taking over the national industry. Do yourself a favor a pay this place a visit!

My home away from home. I travel year round to climb, spending 4 months in the Saint George area every year and the first thing I do when I arrive is sign up for a monthly membership at Contact. Jacquelyn and Chris Horton are such a huge contributing factor to my feeling at home there. I just left but canβt wait for the winter climbing season when I am reunited with such an amazing community.

Such a great place. We signed our kids up for a kids climbing class and they had so much fun. We also climbed as a family. We had no previous climbing experience the staff was super helpful and super kind. It was easy to learn how to belay they taught us everything we needed to know. Great place for new and experienced climbers. Their kids climbing classes are a great deal and good for all levels! Definitely check this place out if you want to try out climbing. Staff is super friendly and the facility is very clean!

I've been to many climbing gyms and this one is one of my favorites. The staff are friendly and the facility is well thought out. I was worried about the wooden walls because I've climbed in gyms where the walls were so smooth, smearing is unpleasant/impossible. I was surpised to see that the walls were textured. The routes were a good challenge, though half the routes that I got on were a bit reachy for me so my moves had to be more dynamic that I am used to. That just means I have to climb with a different mindset (every gym has it's own setting style), it's great. I didn't boulder, so I can't comment on the problems yet. All in all, a fun and well thought out climbing gym.
*I do wish that the lead climbing rope didn't have to be rented and is part of the day pass price.
