I was offered (via mail and email) a 7-day trial, which sounded great at first. On the 4th day, I went in to cancel before the trial ended, and that's when things started to feel off. They told me I had already been signed up for a full membership and couldn't cancel unless I paid over $80.

Paula, the district manager, was the one who signed me up originally. At no point did anyone make it clear that the "trial" was actually enrolling me in a paid membership. The $80+ they're trying to charge me includes a monthly payment plus an annual membership fee that was never even mentioned to me upfront.

I've been trying to cancel this membership (trial) without getting hit with charges for a service I never agreed to use. Every time I contact them, I'm told they're "escalating the matter" and there's nothing they can do in the meantime. But nothing ever actually happens, and they keep trying to charge my card. I had to call my bank to freeze my credit card and I'm disputing any charges they attempt to process.

Honestly, this is such a shady way to do business. A trial should let you decide if you want to continue, not trap you into a membership with hidden fees. I can't recommend this gym to anyone. If you're considering maybe just look at other gyms with more transparent practices.

I scheduled my welcome workout with EOS Gym in Syracuse two weeks in advance for 8 a.m. today. I never received any reminder, which already seemed unorganized, so I reached out early this morning to confirm and got no reply.

I showed up and waited until 8 a.m.—no call, no message, no one there to meet me. i found out the person who set up my session doesn’t even work there anymore, and the person who was supposed to take over wasn’t even present.

This was completely unprofessional and such a frustrating experience. I made time out of my morning for this and expected better communication and organization from a gym that claims to value its members.

A nice gym. Lots of equipment for its size. I understand they're going to be opening a new, larger facility in the next year or two.

My only complaint would have to be the number of clients who fail to clean the equipment they use. It seems the extra two minutes needed to wipe off their sweat when they're done is too hard for them. When I asked one of the staff about this, I was told that this was normal. Then I asked if they ever spoke to anyone about this, and they answered, "They don't normally."

I'm guessing this isn't just EOS, but probably something all gyms have to deal with. Whether they deal with it, or even if they choose to, is a corporate/owner decision.

Late night workouts are my thing and I have to give major props to the closing crew at EōS Fitness in Syracuse — specifically Tate and Garret. These two absolutely crushed it with their professionalism, friendliness, and customer-first attitude even as the gym was winding down for the night.

I was finishing up my session close to closing time and rather than rushing members out or dimming the lights with a passive aggressive tone (which I’ve experienced at other gyms), Tate gave a calm, respectful heads-up that the gym would be closing soon. He was polite, clear, and even cracked a joke to keep the energy light. Garret, on the other hand, was going through his closing duties with total precision — cleaning, restocking, checking equipment — all while being approachable and upbeat.

What really stood out was that neither of them acted like they were just waiting for the clock to hit zero. They treated everyone in the gym with the same energy and courtesy you’d expect in the middle of the day. It’s rare to see that kind of consistency and care, especially at the end of a long shift.

The gym itself? Spacious, clean, and full of well maintained equipment. But it’s staff like Tate and Garret that elevate this place from “just another gym” to a real community space. They clearly take pride in what they do and it shows.

If you’re thinking about joining a gym in the Syracuse area, EōS isn’t just a solid choice — it’s a no brainer, thanks in large part to standout team members like these.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Every time I get a membership with them, they screw me over. When I cancel my membership, they do not listen to me and they keep charging my card. I am usually an understanding person, but to have to call multiple times a month to ask them to stop taking out money, is ridiculous and honestly unprofessional. I get told every time "there was no notes put in about the cancelation, so we cant give you a refund" how is that on me? I did my part and canceled, and their staff was unprofessional and refuses to do their job and cancel it on their end or to put in a note on their end. They tell me every time I call that they will "break the policy" and put in an immediate cancelation for me and they NEVER DO. Do not choose EOS fitness, they will scam you for as long as they can.

This EoS location is filled with friendly staff and so close proximity wise to our neighborhood that we enjoy daily sometimes multiple times per day.

I read it a four star out of five due to the fact that it is missing a number of luxuries that their other locations have. I’m quite familiar with other locations as a frequent then when traveling to Arizona for work. This will be resolved when they complete construction on their New location within the same complex.

My biggest request being that they continue to utilize treadmills that can sync with Apple fitness watches where their locations in Arizona do not. My whole family enjoys the use of their facilities and will continue to do so to ensure positive health improvements throughout our household.

Cody is extremely unhelpful and I would not recommend working with him to anyone! I signed up for a free 7 day pass to test out this gym and see if it could fit my schedule since they don’t offer childcare under 2 yrs old. After telling Cody I was a member at EOS back in 2019, he told me I was ineligible for the 7 day pass. Most gyms would treat you like a new member after having been absent from their gym for 6 years, but not Cody! Terrible at his job since his job is to get people to sign up for memberships and one thing to help someone make that decision is by giving them the 7 day pass to see if it’s a gym they enjoy. 🤡

Be warned—EOS makes it extremely difficult to cancel, even if you’ve moved out of state.

I came back in person during the one week I was back, and they still refused to cancel my membership. My card had changed while I was away for work, and my phone was broken, so I couldn’t update it. The payment was one day late, and they were already adding late fees and demanding payment on the spot—just to let me in. I don’t bring my wallet to the gym, which apparently means no workout for you.

The manager was rude, not helpful, and clearly more focused on squeezing money out of people than actually helping members. If you’re thinking about signing up—just know that once you’re in, it’s a fight to get out.

This is one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been to. The staff is always so welcoming and happy to help out when they’re able to do so. I highly recommend this location and can’t wait until the new building is up!
