The Front has added a ton of amenities over the years, and I've made use of just about all of them. Super glad this was the gym we ended up at. Everyone I bring as a guest kind of marvels at how big the gyms are, and everything that they offer. I've also never had an issue (with fitness class reservations) that their employees haven't been able to help with.

No crack climbing. Lead routes all overlap each other. Be careful, that route that starts 30' behind you shares anchors with your climb. One of you is gonna have to take when the lines converge.
My gym out east with no local climbing was better and had way better setting. I would expect better from Utah. Try hiring some setters with training/certification.
Not every boulder needs a dyno.

Love this club!! The nicest and most professional staff- especially Tate! He went over and above to help me as I “learned the ropes” with my two kids who love rock climbing. It’s a fantastic and clean facility- you won’t regret visiting!!

The front is a great climbing gym to go to. They offer plenty of climbs and have really nice employees. They have areas to work out. Their climbing classes are very good and the employees spend time during these classes to make sure you are ready for their climbing and delaying tests. The front has lead climbing walls, top rope walls and bouldering walls. The front has routes for both beginners and advanced people and anyone in between. All of their climbing classes are also free with purchase of a day pass which is much different then other climbing gyms i have been to. The day price is a little expense at being around 30 a day but the memberships are good to get if you go more than 3-4 times a month. There is also a restaurant and the front with good food.

Honestly this review is just for the music they play. 8/10 times its literally some of the worst stuff ive ever heard in my life. The other night me and my girlfriend left after two climbs because whoever was playing music decided to blast Creed dubstep remixes and just god awful blender music. Had a nice day at work, was feeling fine, then wanted to get a climb in, but whoever was running aux decided that wasn't happening. i could throw some headphones in, but i feel thats not appropriate while leading, you cant escape it. other times, and its happened multiple times, they've decided to play katy perrys entire discography. I've climbed at the front for years and will continue to, but it happens more often than not that the music alone completely crushes my motivation and drive to climb, and i leave. how about something we can all at the very least tune out. If you want to play wubs, music to cry to, or other junk just throw on your headphones like the rest of the employees do when the music sucks. Once in a blue moon they hit it off and the music is enjoyable, but nearly every time i find myself climbing towards the nightmarish sounds of the 5th Katy Perry song of the day, blender coitus, or some sobby sappy stuff. I wish there was like a touch tunes or something, or at least some way to downvote whoever is playing the music and boot them off. its consistently bad at both SoMa and OG locations, i really cant decide what location is worse, but the other night... the remix of One last breath was easily one of the worst things ive ever heard in my entire life...So bad I almost slipped up and whipped, had to take and wait for the song to be over, just for some more wub to come on. Love the gym but damn yall lets try to make an enjoyable vibe for people to work out to, and employees... if the music sucks, call out your coworkers! pleeeeassee do it for us!

Really an impressive climbing gym, but also a legitimately great normal gym. There are plenty of classes for things like yoga and cycling, but they also offer connections to classes like pottery and music in the courtyard. The layout is set up to allow social events in addition to a grueling workout.
There are three stories of climbing walls you can watch from the cafe (which has an impressive selection of wine and beer for a gym), multiple wings of different height and difficulty levels, and excellent gear for sale in the shop.
A relative teaches climbing, and said this gym looks like her version of paradise. If she ever leaves California, she'll get one of the apartments across the street to minimize her commute.
As an overweight & middle aged lady walking in to pick up my son after his 4 hour climbing session for a day out, the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
I don't consider myself their target audience AT ALL, but they acted as though it was perfectly possible I could fit in. They looked to have more than a dozen hookups for electric vehicles to charge on different sides of the building (not just one entrance) and a surprising amount of other parking available. Much of it is not visible from the street due to some beautiful and water-wise landscaping, but it is easy to navigate. There were plenty of bike racks as well.

Highway robbery, the day passes for this gym are $40. This is the most i’ve ever spent on a day pass and is extremely expensive for what you get. The routesetting is not what I was expecting after paying for the day pass, the climbing is basic, uninspiring, and boring. This is probably the lowest quality of climbing/setting that I have ever seen and for 40 dollars this is outrageous. Any of the other gyms in slc are much much better and cheaper. I would recommend that no one buy a day pass here.

Unsafe, unwelcoming, and unclean space.
The owner and staff need a serious therapy session and lesson on how to treat people.

Honestly a world renowned climbing gym. Highly recommend this gym to groups who are traveling with their friends. You wanna make sure you bring everyone here! DON’T LEAVE ANYONE BEHIND. It’s the most important part. Other than that also the high walls have a great chance to save an old mans herniated disc if that’s something you have to worry about. The harness really helps.

I’ve climbed here over 2.5 years. South Main, and The Original Location Downtown (OG). Briefly, the community (very good adaptive program), facilities, various classes, art galleries, cheap coffee, community nights (chess!), hmm music, sauna, now pottery, all the things 👍🏼👍🏼 if I could.
I personally really like the auto belays; I find them a valuable tool in a training modality called “ladders”.
The rates vary.
Be careful, switching from bouldering to them. Or auto belays to standard (different clipping).
However; I’m a big fan they invested in the technology despite some very public issues they troubleshooted through.
I happened to have met the man, Adam, pretty in charge of that and a lot of safety there.
They from my visual impression of watching what he does and communicates seem so dialed and you’d think they’d be with an inherently “risky” technology.
Adam is also an awesome chess opponent (partner in some crazy modes?).

On 11/24/24 I stopped by the Front to ask about memberships. I specifically was curious if there was any black friday deals I should wait for, not necessarily needing specifics, just curious. I was explicitly told no. Then just later that week, I was standing at the urinal and right in front of my eye is a poster promoting their black friday deal for $100 merch credit when you sign up.
That merch credit would have maybe cost them like $50 and kept a customer happy. Instead they get this one star review and a disappointed customer who is now debating cancelling my membership.
This was my 2nd major letdown with customer service. The first was after my vehicle was broken into ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS in an official Front lots. Both times the Front wouldn't do as little as just giving me a credit for a month or something.

This is by far the most expensive climbing gym I've ever climbed at. In Denver, the minimum wage is $23 an hour (meaning: gyms have to pay high school students $23 an hour to sit behind the front desk and check people in), so it's understandable with their overhead that Denver gyms charge $135 a month. I'm pretty sure the minimum wage in Utah is under $10 an hour, and yet this gym is MORE expensive than the most expensive gyms in Denver. So, I just can't give 5 stars. But if the membership cost were more reasonable, this would for sure be a 5-star climbing gym.
1. It appears to be the only gym in SLC with autobelays. The autobelay routes seem thoughtfully laid out. Each one has a beginner route, a 5.10, and a 5.11 route.
2. The staff are super nice.
3. Saunas.
4. The personal showers in the expansion area are 🫰. (Check the water pressure before you commit to one though. 3 of them, the water just falls out of the showerhead; the rest are strong enough to give a dready vanlifer a proper wash down.)
5. The coffee upstairs is awesome.
6. If you're into yoga (I hate yoga, but I hear it's trending!), the membership goes further. There are apparently all kinds of classes included with the membership.
Net net, if you want autobelays and saunas this is your only option. Once you swallow the bitter pill of the cost, it's a really nice facility.

The good: Tall walls, nice equipment, lots of bouldering space if that's what you're after, cafe was excellent and beers are cheap, the staff member who did our belay checks was very nice.
The not so good: Crazy expensive day pass - by far the most expensive I have ever seen (and I've been to a LOT of gyms around the country!). They do not rent lead ropes (this is not clear on the website), and there are surprisingly few top ropes. Additionally, they were setting when we were there, and a large section of top ropes were closed off, so it felt like we had very few climbing options after spending $75 for 2 people to get in. I was also disappointed by the quality of the sport climbing setting - a lot of jug ladders and VERY soft grading.
Not worth the day pass investment.

I’ve been a member of some kind at The Front since moving to Salt Lake a few years ago (although not an avid climber). It’s truly Disney for climbers. The cafe is excellent, I’ve done several types of yoga classes, used the gym, and attended their programs. It’s a place that I even love to bring friends who are in town visiting, just to show off how great it is. We’re really lucky to have this gym and live in Salt Lake! Every single person who works at The Front that I’ve interacted with are somehow all the nicest people you could meet. For as long as I’ve lived in salt lake though, rumors abound about the owner as being….a chaotic nightmare. His reputation is locally notorious and I definitely feel for the employees if the stories are true. I think this plays out in the turnover unfortunately, as you don’t see the same faces stick around. Fortunately the staff seem to buffer it all well as you don’t otherwise see it play out in how the gym is run from what I can tell from the outsiders view. But definitely a PR headache, at least if you’re tied into the very Small Lake City we live in.

I have been needing to post this review forever! Getting it done today because after my experience how can I not??
Maasen at The Front Climbing Gym in Salt Lake City is basically the Wonder Woman of climbing gyms. From the second I walked in, she had me feeling like I could take on any wall—even though my experience mostly involves stumbling over curbs. Maasen doesn’t just check you in; she radiates this energy that makes you believe you’re about to conquer Mount Everest (even if you’re just staring down the beginner boulders).
I asked her for advice on which route to try, and she gave me such perfect tips, it was like she’d climbed the wall blindfolded, upside down, and probably while holding a cup of coffee. She made sure I had the right gear, told me where the best holds were, and somehow, between all that, cracked jokes that made me forget I was about to embarrass myself in front of more seasoned climbers.
Maasen’s got this incredible ability to make everyone feel welcome, from complete noobs like me to the pros scaling the toughest routes. If you’re looking for someone who knows her stuff and will also make you feel like a climbing champ (even when you’re clinging to the wall for dear life), Maasen is your girl. Thanks for the laughs and the motivation, Maasen—you’re the queen of the climbing gym!"

I love how huge this gym is! And the fact that we got a south main location and salt lake location I get a ton of variety. Even though it still gets so crowded. Hopefully the expansion fixes some of that but the parking issue will always been such a problem. But what can you do. I ride my bike most of the time to the gym and I get a little bonus smoothie every time I ride 10 times however every time I I go to get it they say that they aren’t serving them that day which is insane. But this isn’t a smoothie shop. It’s a gym. And at the end of the day the climbs are fun and they do have a lot of great amenities even though it’s pretty expensive. I’d still recommend it.

I’ve climbed at many gyms across the U.S. and internationally, and I really wanted to like The Front. The facilities are modern and give a great first impression, but I’ve found the staff’s attitude and gym policies to be incredibly frustrating.
I previously lead climbed at my old gym (out of state) but never became confident with clipping and wanted to get a refresher, especially before climbing The Front’s 70 (ish?) foot walls. I took the intro to lead class during a summer special (it’s usually over $100 to take it otherwise- even as a member), and it wasn’t bad. I was then informed that to pass the lead test, I would have to climb a 5.10 lead route essentially twice (climb, announced fall, climb again, unannounced fall, climb to the finish). This is incredibly gate-keepy because it makes it impossible for newer or not as strong climbers to lead. They don't allow practice on top rope with a dummy rope (8ft), which my old gym allowed to build strength and stamina. The only way members can “practice” is by attending a “lead practice session” with the staff, which is only offered every other Saturday, or use the practice clips on the ground, which isn’t the same as actually climbing. The overhang wall is only set with V3-5 climbs and higher which makes it impossible for newer/weaker climbers to practice climbing steeps.
There’s no lockers available for members unless you pay an additional $8 a month, only cubbies which aren’t secure. The setting isn’t great and the staff have bad attitudes. I reached out to staff a few months ago to see if they would be interested in hosting a Stop the Bleed class (for free!) for their members or the community and they asked if I had a class that “relates to climbers more.” The cost of the gym is insane and they won’t allow you to pay a year in-full without losing benefits. The sauna seems to always be broken and the parking is a mess. They don’t allow gopros and have other weird rules about taking videos (even if they’re only for private use).
I was also excited for the Jiu-Jitsu classes but found them to be frustrating. The beginner classes are usually full of more experienced students which seems to make the class more advanced than it should be. I took a handful of the beginner classes and felt like I was being rushed into movements that should have been broken down more and practiced slowly. The women’s classes are offered at weird times, so nobody ever shows up for them (I was the only woman several times). The other classes are also full of 200lb+ men so it can be very intimidating as a woman, but with the women’s classes being offered at weird times there’s not many other options.
Overall, this gym is full of pretentious climbers and you’re not getting much for what you’re paying. If you're a new climber, avoid this place unless you want to plateau due to not being able to gradually progress.

And I’ve taken care of colicky infants. Probably not gonna come back just because of the music…it’s that bad (I thought they had power tools going somewhere until I noticed a slight rhythm to it lol)

I recently met someone working at this business named Dustin. Must be a manager or owner based on how the staff treated him. He was one of the least pleasant people I've met in a long time. I don't know why, because I didn't ask, but he started over-sharing his politics with me. My impression was that he was intoxicated (in the early afternoon). I generally don't care what someone's beliefs are and can find common ground, but it's different when they center on hate and are shoved in my face.
All I said is that I didn't agree with him. He asked me angrily why not, and I told him told him as succinctly as I could that I believed in leaving people alone so long as they're not hurting anyone. He turned (more) red and blathered and stumbled around in what looked like a confused attempt to start an argument with me. I gave him a dismissive little hand wave, which I thought was a funny and suitably derisive way to stop the conversation. Unfortunately, it definitely triggered him. This time his response was incoherent. Luckily I was already leaving so I said I had to go, spun on my heels while he was talking, and walked out. I half expected him to follow me into the parking lot.
I admit I could have been more mature. Bullies just rub me the wrong way. Anyway, if I owned the business I would ask Dustin to find a new job. If he is the owner I would just strongly advise people not to work here or even climb here unless they want to have a little hate party and walk on eggshells around a fragile ego.

From the unfriendly staff who barely acknowledged my presence to the overcrowded and poorly managed facility, it was a frustrating visit. The Front is an Utah exclusive climbing gym. They helped me run a climbing class for about a week and a half during the winter for a group of high school students. After hosting the class through Momentum Climbing for nearly 8 years (solely due to location) we finally got fed up with the lack of effort and care that momentum showed. They were at time down right hostile to us. Our breaking point was when we were told “this gym is not a place to learn how to climb”. I’m sure what that gym is for then. I wish I had switched years ago. The Front cares about Utah and the Climbing Community here. It’s a little bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. If you want your membership fees to go toward making your home gym better, and not toward opening more locations in Texas and Washington, if you care about supporting local business and having a little more luxury, Climb at The Front. Support Local. Support The Front.

No more auto belays. Dues went up.
When my dues went up, I was told part of the increase was meant for them to be able to pay their staff better - two weeks later a whole bunch of staff members were laid off. FWIW, they don’t treat their employees well.
Would love if they had other ways of notifying members that entire sections of climbing would be closed for comps and whatnot. SMS alerts. App notifications. Emails with obvious Subject Lines

I really do love these gyms. The staff, the people, the activities, amenities, and things they offer are fantastic. I myself are fine with the pricing month to month, however, quite a few people I know who are avid climbers in the salt lake community are slowly becoming priced out of being able to climb in a gym. Since my partner and I started our couples membership in late 2022, they’ve raised their prices 3 times.
Again I love the front, and for now it’s worth it to me. However, it’s starting to feel like a corporate money grab with all of these hikes in cost. Also, a few of the staff members I’ve spoken with have mentioned that the price hikes have not added to their wages. So just something to consider about the culture of the upper management. I just hope they don’t loose sight of what’s important.

Weird experience for NON woke and LGBTQ. Day passed with my wife and friend. Felt like we were judged by the four staff members for not being apart of the "group". We had to ask for help to pay and get checked off for ropes.
The situation really didn't bother us until I found a complimentary supply of feminine products above the sink in the men's room. After that find and some of the other interactions with other guests, we felt like the whole "woke/lgbtq" was being pushed pretty hard in the facility.
Overall, made for a weird experience. Plus $66 for a bag of chalk and day pass????

Usually, I climb solo. But here?
They removed the solo climbing machines and do not plan to replace them.
They also refuse to allow my girlfriend to wait at the cafe while I climb. (She doesn’t climb).
They are becoming more and more unfriendly.
Solo climbers are not important enough to find a solution.
People buying coffee are not enough to access the coffee shop (even when associated with a member.)
This gym is cutting the service, and why? Protect the dollars.
Go elsewhere if possible.

facilities had it all, and staff was helpful. grading felt a bit soft. was by far the most i’ve spent on a day pass at $35.00 - which is even more than ny prices! if you primarily boulder and mind about price def go to SLC bouldering project. if you want to spend hours top roping, bouldering, and chilling out you’ll enjoy it here!

Turn down (or preferably turn off) the music in the weight room! Everybody has headphones, and nobody wants to hear your Cypress Hill/Blink 182 mix while they are trying to workout!

They stole money during COVID shut down.
My partner paid for many months of membership while they were closed during COVID, they just continued to charge him even when they had their facilities closed. They won't do a refund when they failed to provide service.
Also way too expensive for couples. They only offer 9 dollars off the total price for couples. Bring it from $198 to $189 a month. Might as well not even offer a couples "deal" at that price anymore, they used to offer a better couples deal.

I've been coming to the front for about 3 years now, and I've really enjoyed it. I've seen them grow in the programs and amenities they offer, and the climbing routes get switched enough to keep things interesting. I would like to give this place 5 stars - it's one of my favorite spots in SLC - but there are no cracks to climb, and parking is HORRIBLE. I'm excited to see what the new gym they are opening in Mill Creek will offer in these regards!
Update: Prices have gone up, vibe has changed, and the cracks are still non existent. Momentum is now the place.

This gym have one of the most atrocious and most uncreative setting I ever seen. The price is absurd for 33$ for a day pass. If you’re a boulderer, please avoid this gym and just go the SLC bouldering project. Anything below v4 is just a ladder style climbing, there is no creativeness to it, almost brain dead if you ask me.

$31 for a day pass just so I can belay my kid?! (So $62 for him to be on a rope. I am NOT a climber). Completely ridiculous. No other gym in this country charges a full day pass to just belay.

Great climbing, lots of routes and variety. Staff is usually pretty friendly. There seems to be no rules on what music they’re allowed to play, sometimes it’s so slow it almost puts me to sleep. Other times it’s so loud it’s difficult to communicate with my climbing partner while on the wall. Locker room needs some work. Showers are usually gross with hair on the walls and floor. Shower pressure is mediocre and the temperature never seems to stay consistent.

Climbing 10/10

With how many members you have and revenue you’re generating this is a disappointing gym. I mean I have friends who’s cars have been broken into in your parking lot and there’s not even a decent camera to catch a license plate.
You’re over extending your resources and doing things half way decent.
That being said your climbing is the best in SLC. (Hence the 3 stars)

Best climbing gym in SLC in my opinion, I have been a member at Momentum and at Bouldering Project and I've always come back to the Front. It's hard to put in words but the setting here is just right and all the routes and problems feel good to climb. The facilities and vibe are also good. A little pricier than the other gyms, but it's definitely worth it. The combination of the Downtown and South Main location provide all the new sets you'll ever need. Plus the free jiu-jitsu at Soma is quite innovative and fun for a climbing gym.

My partner spent 90 minutes shopping for shoes at a national chain where they didn't have help and did feel judged before giving up and coming home. We called The Front, Evan answered, and from that point everything went perfectly. Evan was free to take care of us as soon as we walked in. My partner tried on a half dozen shoes recommended by Evan, and they were all better than what they tried at the other store. The cool thing was that Evan listened, and then the first pair he recommended was the best of the best - the pair they bought. That was kinda amazing 🤩 By the time we left, we'd gotten more gear and a membership. Some of the things that impressed us - adaptive climbing nights, queer climbing every other Thursday, the pet adoption events, even a dog yard out back. Also, the men's bathroom had jars by the sinks with tampons and pads, along with a sign reassuring any men who aren't aware that these products belong there. Some men menstruate, and the fact that The Front is prepared for them is really impressive to me.

This is a review written for parents and scored as such. If I was single or without young children I would score The Front a 4.
Having visited and collected climbing gym passes across Utah, Arizona, and California, I wanted to compare each of them to one another for ease of visitation for parents.
The Front would rank at the bottom for parents with children 14 and younger for a few reasons. When I first took my 3 y/o and wanted to only walk around and scope out a potential membership there was a waiver and video and the video had to be watched for each waiver with no way of watching as a group on-site. This included my 3 y/o. When I asked if there was a way to bypass or just have it play, they said 'no' and that she needed to sit and watch it...a 3 y/o....
Next would be 'play climbing' areas of sorts for children. Momentum has them at each location. The Front has no such thing and a restrictive-and subjective-'direct supervision' rule. As long as safety and disruption rules are followed, I've never had an incident without having my children on my tail like what was required.
Another consideration are the auto-belays. Alta climbing in Arizona allowed all ages to use the system. With 10 y/o and younger needing to be hooked-up by an adult and 11+ were able to use them on their own without supervision. Parents only must use reasonable judgment with their children.
The Front does have youth programs, which are well done and I think deserve credit. My comments address regular use by parents of those with children 14 y/o and younger. The Front is by all means the Tennis Club of the climbing gyms and is catered to single or childless adults outside of the exception of programs.
The last important topic for parents is cost. A family of 4 is $255 + tax at the Front and $178 + tax at Momentum. You can argue amenities or whatever else, which are essentially meaningless to parents and children in most cases.
The front desk staff and setters are wonderful. These are owner/admin preferences. They are not a safety concern because of the comparison of many other gyms of other companies. They are choices that I hope to have made clear for parents looking to visit.

Has to be one of the best climbing gyms in the country, for both top rope & bouldering. Got a day pass while stopping thru SLC, which included yoga classes & access to all Front locations. Showers & gym equipment too, plus wifi & cute cafe tables to sit & work or hang! Great friendly vibe, all the cuties in SLC must come here. We had such a great time we came back the next day for another day pass. If you’re a climber staying a week or so in town, get the 10-visit punch pass and each visit will be $21 instead of $31 (day pass). If you live in town & you’re not a member, idk what you’re thinking! My partner wants to move to SLC just to be a member here lol.
Oh, if you’re a boulderer into SLAB (I know, I know) the South Main location is better. Trust those feet baby.

Very disappointed. Went the other day after a bit over a year gone. I hate a multi-visit pass which should have had visits remaining but was told they expire after a year. I was overseas for a year with the military but that didn’t matter. Oh well, plenty of other options out there.

The one pro I can give this place is the taller walls. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The gym is prohibitively expensive for what you get and the rates just rose again.
Even worse is the dishonesty. They wouldn’t I honor a 10% discount they have publically posted (look on SelectHealth if you want to see the fraudulent posting), and I was called a liar for sending screenshots of it on the website.
Use another climbing gym, you’ll be happier and you won’t get rolled like I did.

Best value gym I've seen. Yoga, Jiu Jitsu, Fitness classes, weights, summer music on Wednesdays, incredible cathedral-like facilities with tons of routes, great climbing instruction options with gear incentives, cafes that give you free stuff if you ride your bike enough, electric car charging, knowledgeable and friendly staff, climbing competitions, lockers with showers and saunas.
This is the gym of choice for serious climbers in the area. Only cons: The fine print around freezing and canceling memberships feels scummy, and if you drive a gas car you'll find it hard to park at peak hours, and route difficulties are definitely kind of inconsistent, depending on setter, which I find keeps it interesting, but which can annoy some people.

One star for a very specific reason. Never have I been a member of a gym where re-racking weights in an organized and logical manner (25, 30, 35, 40, etc) has ZERO importance and actually seems to be favored. There’s a few benches that have broken rests, a few cable attachments that are worn out, and the main cable gym while functional has many slips and sticks. Other than this, the climbing, yoga and free events are 5/5. But if you care at all about weights and lifting, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

A really incredible gym that is definitely worth it's day pass/ membership price. It has unusually tall lead and top rope walls and a good variety of wall angles, sadly no roofs though. Boulder sets were creative and challenging! Aside from the climbing, there is a beautiful courtyard, weightlifting and yoga studios, kilter and moon boards and plenty of cardio equipment. The top floor also has a cafe that serves beer and has some nice mountain views. Great gym and overall space.

As a preface: I am a tall and lanky climbing who has climbed for one year with a lot of skill on technical problems and less focus on strength.
In my opinion it’s a fine gym. Personally I want to like it, so much but the 5+ orientation video you have to watch before filling out a waver feels like it takes forever and it feels like a waste of time for anyone who has ever climbed before. The day pass was pricy and didn’t include anything. 31$ feels absurd for a day pass. Especially when you have to pay for classes or tests in order to do anything other than bouldering. As for bouldering it was okay but very strength focused leaving me next to nothing to climb outside of low grade problems which was often occupied by other people due to crowding. While it did offer up to v11+ which is uncommon for most gyms I see, nobody was sending them making it feel like a waste of space. As for the employees they did their job fine although I only interacted with them briefly. Frankly, I’m just disappointed I spend 31$ Just to feel discouraged about climbing.

This gym is the worst of the Salt Lake gyms. I've only bouldered there but the setting was bad and the holds were worn out and polished. If you do make the mistake of going here, don't buy a punch pass because they expire. I bought one right before covid hit. They extended the expiration date for 3 months but they weren't even open! The pass expired while they were closed. Management is not friendly here, spend your money elsewhere.

We've canceled our membership. Half of the machines are always broken or very unsafely maintained and I've hurt myself on the untightened and unlubricated treadmill belts so many times that we avoid them entirely. No one wants to hit their face on the dashboard when the treadmill belt snags while running. Because of this, I doubt that a single staff member is actually doing their job. Safety should be #1 at a gym, especially when heavy weights and motorized equipment are involved.
It's a toss up whether the staff member you're working with is going to be friendly or very nasty. The woman with the curly dyed hair is the worst offender and should be fired immediately.
This gym is always FREEZING yet the staff always give a fake crooked smile whenever we ask to turn on the heaters. Yet they never even turn them on. To make matters worse, the fans are always blowing the FREEZING AIR everywhere, and they give the same fake smile whenever we've asked to turn off the fans in chilly temperatures. Yet they never turn off the fans either. It takes only a minute to do so.

You may not want to bother with The Front if you have a 9-5 job. You'll never find parking and you may even find your way to the South Main gym where they chose to install a sand volleyball court over parking spots.
I tried submitting this same feedback on their site a few weeks ago about this, hoping to understand the situation better but I never got a response.

There is also a good gym area with lots of workout equipment and space and an additional training area with tons of moon boards and hang boards that is very nice if you’re serious about training. They have a wide selection of merchandise and the front desk was nice. The cafe is perfect for working and hanging out while watching climbing.
