I never thought I'd be a morning workout person, but getting the blood pumping and the muscles moving is a great way to start the day. I'm glad the music is loud enough to drown out my chuckles when I just can't do another push-up! (2018)
That was over a year ago. It's now 2019 and I'm still loving the early morning, after-work and weekend workouts. The "routines" are anything but routine and you can't get bored! The playlists are always the latest and the instructors are professional, upbeat and very motivating. The studio is in a convenient location with plenty of parking.
2024: It's hard to remember back over seven years ago, to a time before a friend introduced me to Pure Barre. I worked at UVM and used the athletic facilities, but never felt like I fit in or belonged. Pure Barre quickly became that home for lasting friendships and fun class challenges that keep us all motivated. My second class ever was an Empower and when the warm up ended and the music's tempo picked up, I knew I'd found "my people"!

I can’t say enough good things about Pure Barre Burlington, VT — it has truly become one of the best parts of my day and a place I absolutely love. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with such warmth and positivity. The instructors are phenomenal — knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in your progress. Every class feels like a perfect blend of challenge and empowerment, and the music and energy always leave me feeling stronger, both mentally and physically.
What I especially appreciate is the attention to form and the supportive, judgment-free environment. Whether you’re a seasoned Barre devotee or just starting out, you’ll feel completely welcomed and encouraged here. The Burlington studio is beautifully maintained and has such a great community vibe — it’s impossible not to feel inspired just being in the space.

They don’t allow you to cancel over the phone OR email. You call and they tell you to email, so you email and they ignore your email and keep charging you on a recurring basis. You email again, they ignore it. They don’t answer their phones either and don’t allow you to cancel over the phone. See screenshots as examples of evidence that I emailed to cancel and I emailed the correct email address. Both emails included my full name and phone number. Update - they charged me again yesterday. I’ve called and left messages and emailed several times. What do I have to do ????????

I joined in 2021 after moving to the area and I'm still going regularly in 2024. I love the different class types and regularly attend Align and Classic with a few Define or Empowers sprinkled throughout the month for variety. Andrea has built a fantastic community and I look forward to seeing so many friendly people at the studio. Highly recommend if you are looking for a low-impact and challenging workout.

I started coming to Pure Barre when I was pregnant with my first (with doctor permission). Loved how encouraging they were with my pregnancy and knowledgeable about how I would need to make adjustments and modifications. I always felt I was getting a good workout in a safe way. Fast forward almost three years, and I am still attending. Instructors are always kind and encouraging - if you’re the kind of person who likes to be yelled at to work harder, this is not the place to come. But it is also a very good workout. I always feel challenged. I was able to lose all of my pregnancy weight, and have received lots of comments on how healthy I look. Two things to keep in mind - the learning curve is steep, mostly because of getting accustomed to terminology and getting the rhythm of class, but things start to make sense after a few classes (and you’ll still get a really good workout even in your first class); this is not a cheap workout, but I find that helpful because since I’ve invested financially, I’m more likely to fit it into my schedule.
Update: I've since joined the Teaching Team, and I'm still happy. The workout continues to be a challenge in the best way. And the community is wonderful. Such a joy to be part of Pure Barre Vermont!

Welcome to Pure Barre full-body workout!!! This has been the best low-impact strength training program I have ever done with results and Love everything about the studio. Introduced to Pure Barre by Andrea, owner and never looked back! i have always been active and now I'm so much stronger mind and body with the 50-minute workouts. My strength I have gained, I can now do push-ups, plank for 90 seconds, flexibility is much better, my core is stronger, and can see my body sculpt into a strong and lean muscle just by using two- or three-pound weights, band, stepper, and body weight!! I can't thank everyone who teaches, comes into the studio to workout at Pure Barre enough for how they make you feel every time you walk into the Studio and get ready for the 50 minutes ahead, that's why we do it.

Great overall body workout! Fun and challenging. Instructors are encouraging and helpful . I like the personal attention to my using correct form in order to get the best and safest workout. Great sequence of exercises, turning on gluteus muscles before working abdominal muscles. They are key to core strength. I wasn't sure if I could do this after having 3 kids but I found I can. Everyone should try this!

Pure barre has been an incredible experience for me. I started doing it because I realized how many of the moves we do in class were also recommended to me by my physical therapist for running injuries-but it’s much more fun to do them at barre than at home alone! I be been doing barre for about 2 years in Ottawa and fortunately, I found this amazing barre studio here in Burlington, VT. The instructors are badass (in a good way), the staff are incredibly friendly, I love the updated look, and the studio is very extremely conscious of cleanliness, especially during these times. I've been a 12 month member for the past three and a half years. Pure Barre is the one thing that I have committed to and stuck with for this entire time. I’ve been going to Pure barre on and off since I lived in Massachusetts. When I moved to Vermont I decided to check out the the local studio. I joined for the intro month. Oddly enough the classes are tougher here than in MA. The challenging moves in MA are part of the normal routines in Vt. This left me sore for days. But then I bought an elliptical for home which ended up doing nothing for me. Fast forward about 10 months later and 10 lbs heavier, I rejoined Pure barre. And because the classes are harder than the ones in MA, I’m seeing changes in my body so much more quickly, as in 5 classes in 2 weeks. And I’m not as sore but I do give myself a day off between classes. I did purchase the 10 class package to see how often I’d go but I think I will definitely be purchasing a 3 month membership as I’d like to go as often as possible. I feel it is worth it and definitely justifiable as it’s almost like you’re working with a personal trainer at a reasonable cost. My only piece of constructive criticism is the instructor, when starting a new piece, should stand in the center of the mirrors so we're not lost looking for her for guidance in our stances. The instructions are given very fast and can be hard to follow without finding a model.

Pure Barre as a technique has strengthened me and given me back my confidence after having a baby! The instructors and other staff at this location MADE it happen! They are all so friendly and helpful and bring incredible energy to each class. I have loved how attentive they are, gently correcting form so that myself and others get the most out of each class. I’ve completed my free week, which led to my intro month, and I’m about to sign up for their 3 month “bounce back from baby” package. I can’t get enough!
**Update: over a year later, I am still attending classes 4-5 times per week through my 12-month membership. Despite my frequent attendance, my workout hasn’t plateaued. In fact, I find myself tackling new challenges weekly, be it holding poses longer, or lower, using heavier weights, firmer balls, tighter resistance bands. There is always a way to up your game, and the instructors are right there to give you that challenge and see you through it. I love this studio!!

Pure Barre is exactly what I have been missing in other body strengthening workouts. By targeting my core muscles, every movement incorporates arms, thighs, abs and everything inbetween so you get the most from your effort. I feel so good after each class, even though I have had back surgery I am feeling stronger and more confident. Great atmosphere, I feel comfortable, the instructors make it very challenging and motivate me to give my best. I love the welcoming feeling from other members and instructors.

This is the first workout class that I have enjoyed going to - ever! There’s a comfortable level of predictability so I don’t feel like I am floundering but enough of a change every time so my muscles don’t get bored. It’s hard work but not so hard that I can’t keep pushing and challenging myself. Everyone in the class is very focused and in a way it’s a very private workout while still being a part of a group. The space is also really nice - much roomier than other studios I have gone to. It’s over before I know it. Worth it!

Great workout, especially the more you go, but there is a large learning curve for beginners. I luckily had a base from other barre studios, but had I been a beginner I think I would have struggled and been discouraged from coming back. The classes move quickly and instructors often don't provide a way to make a move easier for those who need modifications. Other than that, the studio is a very nice space and all the staff and instructors are very friendly!

Pure Barre is great! I love that all of the classes are open to all fitness levels and everything is modifiable. Within just a few months of taking barre classes I have seen such an amazing improvement in my muscle toning. I have taken barre classes at another studio but I like that the classes at Pure Barre are very upbeat and they move very quickly - you're not spending ten minutes doing the same sets over again. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I like that the instructors walk around and help you improve your form during class. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the carpeted floors. Even with the sticky socks it makes it hard to concentrate on planking when I'm struggling for purchase on the floors!

*UPDATE* I am pregnant now, and cannot imagine experiencing my pregnancy without Pure Barre! The low impact workout is great for me to feel active and engaged and keep my body strong. The staff are really knowledgable about the modifications I'll need to make as I progress and its been such a nice and encouraging community. I am so glad I started when I did so I could keep doing it throughout my pregnancy. Despite the fact that I'm not a big fan of group workout classes, Pure Barre has totally converted me. I continue to go regularly (about 3-4 times a week) and I never get bored of the classes.
The instructors are top-notch (I have been to other Pure Barre studios, and really the instructors in Burlington are excellent!) Anna-Bridgette's classes are like master classes, and I always learn something new about the technique when she teaches. Lauren is a great teacher whose classes are definitely tough (which is why you're there, right?), but what I really like about her is that she offers helpful corrections to make sure you're getting the most out of your workout. Rylee's classes are upbeat and fun, so you almost forget how hard you're working. You can really go to any class for your first time, but if someone asked me, I would suggest one of Rylee's classes as a good one to try. If you want a class that's not quite as packed, Victoria's noon classes are great and you get a little bit more instructor attention (and personal space!) and Miranda's 4:30 class is a great post-work pick-me-up. For something a little different, Andrea's platform classes are awesome and she's also great at encouraging you by name during class, which gives you an extra push to work hard. Her amazing playlists don't hurt either.
So one year later, I definitely still recommend Pure Barre!

I have never seen such fast results as I have from Pure Barre. I started Pure Barre 6 weeks after giving birth for the third time and my body zipped right back up! Great teacher. Like how she adjusted and paid attention to everyone during class. Although I wish PB franchise owners would get together at the conference to offer a travelers card option. I'm frequently traveling and can't keep spending 20-29 per class.

After hearing how Pure Barre is the fastest way to change your body, I committed myself to going 4/5x a week and learned this was absolutely true! I truly love going to class, I never get bored and I'm constantly seeing results. All the teachers are awesome and the class vibe is so great with loud music and lots of motivation. If you're looking for a serious change in your workout I highly recommend Pure barre.

Pure Barre is a dynamic and challenging workout that will keep you engaged and pushing yourself. I love that I can be competitive with myself in such a supportive environment. Walking in the door, the studio is very clean, modern and has a nice selection of apparel. The instructors are all really nice, knowledgeable and provide great corrections throughout class (yes, they may be harder. yes, they'll make the workout much better) Throughout class they'll echo praises to give you the extra motivation you might need to push through the shake. Shaking means changing, and trust me, if you stick with Pure Barre your body will certainly change.

Pure Barre is a truly challenging workout. Ithe teachers mix up the music and the moves so you rarely have the same class twice. Some of the teachers don't change their warm up sequences often enough but others may appreciate the familiar routine. I always look forward to my classes.

I love pure barre. I always feel like I get An amazing strengthening workout. The staff is terrific and the music always fun! It's been 3 months of consistently attending classes and my body looks and feels so different and so lean, toned and strong!! Keep up the great work! It's the best low impact workout I've found and I love how deeply and rapidly it is able to improve and strengthen a woman's hips, abs, arms and legs.

In doing Pure Barre, I've found a great community of women--the staff and studio members are great! Our studio is active and well known even though it's only been open for a year now. I love hiking, yoga, and swimming. But with Pure Barre I've seen faster results in my problem areas (waistline and thighs) then when I do other workouts.
