Best yoga place, ever! All classes are A+, and I especially recommend the Happy Hips class for those wanting to strengthen and stretch hips. I literally feel like I've gotten a lower back/hip massage after this class, every time. Instructors are very knowledgable and helpful. Also, the new studio space is beautiful and has lots of room, with street parking that's super available/easy.

This is an amazing studio. Suzanne and Maia have deep expertise in Iyenger yoga/alignment and breathwork. They provide clear guidance that support both beginners and experienced students. I feel welcomed there, and they meet me where my ability is, and don’t push me to go too far. At the same time, they also provide the support to advance in my practice. The studio is gorgeous, calm, and supportive of serious and drop-in practice. 🙌

I wish I could give this 10 stars! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, talented and patient. It was easy to join as a novice yoga student, and each session I continue to learn new things. A variety of classes are available for any type of yoga. The sessions accommodate students at any level. My personal favorite has become the Ashtanga class on Wednesday evenings.

This is more than a studio; it’s a community and home. Suzanne is a phenomenal practitioner and has cultivated a lovely community and I am so grateful for it!

If you are serious about improving your yoga practice, I highly recommend 532Yoga. It is one of the best yoga studios in the DMV. All the instructors are excellent. Suzanne, the owner, is one of the most knowledgeable yoga instructors in the area. She is committed to teaching yogis about their bodies, movement, and alignment. Suzanne focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of your body in contrast to studios that have folks cycle through poses without knowing where their bodies are. Her instructions are clear and precise and she provides context to help students understand the poses. She also will adjust your position which I find very helpful in improving my practice.

I've attended about two dozen classes here on a drop-in basis via Class Pass and been satisfied every time. (It's been so satisfying that I haven't really bothered going to any other studios!) I don't practice much, but I've never felt intimidated by the classes I've signed up for. All the instructors are knowledgeable and bring their own style to their class. The space is always organized, clean, and calming. I believe the studio is moving locations, but I have no doubt the quality of the studio and instruction will remain top notch wherever it lands.

Today was my first time at 532 and attended the sound bath. It was wonderful and peaceful and just what I needed. I feel better directly after it and some positive things happened to me just after the session. Thank you for offering these types of sessions. I plan to attend them regularly 🥹♥️

Review for session with Michael the Meditating Marine:
Michael led us through a set of meditations guided by some of the key messages from his book. To be in his presence and take in his wise teachings was a great treat. He helped us to go inwards.. to open up a little part of the window where we can access all the knowledge and truth that is already in us.

I’ve attended numerous studios in the past 20 years that I’ve lived in the DC area. I’ve been to the big studios, gyms, and small private studios and it always comes back to the instruction and the community, which is why I always return to this studio. 532 Yoga is accessible for all levels. There’s intense and challenging advanced classes and even a slow stretchy sleepy restorative class offered. The special workshops like the sound healing yoga nidra and special classes for hips and back health will keep you out of chiropractic appointments (and more affordable I’m sure!). Suzanne provides the most precise and clear instruction during complicate poses so you can really elevate your practice to the next level. Highly highly recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting 532 Yoga on a Wednesday morning, courtesy of Class Pass. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The studio is well-maintained, clean, and equipped with all the necessary props and amenities.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the class led by Instructor Lola. She was knowledgeable, professional, and truly passionate about her work. Her guidance and instruction were spot-on, and she created a safe and inclusive space for all levels of practitioners. I appreciated her attention to detail and her focus on proper alignment and form.

The yoga practice was a wonderful blend of physical challenge and relaxation. Lola encouraged us to push ourselves while also respecting our limits and listening to our bodies. I felt refreshed and energized after the session, and I can't wait to attend another class led by Lola.

Overall, I highly recommend 532 Yoga and would like to extend a special shoutout to Instructor Lola for an amazing class. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just starting out, this studio is a must-visit for anyone looking for a quality yoga experience.

532Yoga offers a calm beautiful space for practising yoga.
Teacher Suzanne Leitner-Wise was spot on in identifying what I needed to do to come into better alignment plus she gives clear concise cues with amazing breakdown of what needs to be done in any given pose. She is attentive to all and offers great adjustments. I love the way she sequences her classes, her humour and the whole ambience of 532yoga. It makes me wish I lived here so I could immerse myself in the yoga rather than just briefly visiting!
And the class descriptions on the website are great, so don't hesitate whether you're a novice or an experienced yogi!

What I love about Yoga 532 is the instructors do an amazing job of providing clear and simple instructions. They suggest modifications to each pose so that the classes always feel challenging for any skill level, while not overwhelming anyone who is still learning (like me). Even when the class is somewhat full, the instructors still offer personalized attention and help you get the most out of your stretches/poses. I have only been to classes by Suzanne, Maia, and Jon so far, but they have all been a pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to experience classes with some of the other instructors as well! Highly recommend!

I can't say enough about how special this studio is. I've only just started attending classes at 532 yoga and feel inspired by the teachers, re-dedicated to my practice and FEELING STRONGER in just 2 weeks. The instructors are so knowledgeable and especially detailed in their description of the posture or movement that you actually do it the right way... and they adjust their instruction so that it's also the right way FOR YOU. Every session, I leave with pride for what I accomplished and excited about the next session.

I attended my very first yoga class and Lola was the instructor. I must say I was intimidated and didn't know what to expect but Lola was fantastic and very personable. I felt comfortable, her instruction was clear and concise, and I stretched in ways I didn't know my body needed. Not to mention, the studio was very clean and zen and parking was easy (on a beautiful Saturday afternoon). Don't just take my word for it, pop in and take a class with Lola and thank me later!

I went for my first class today and I was very impressed. I have been to most of the Yoga studios in the area once or twice over the past 20 years and never felt comfortable going back (I am not interested in hot yoga so I can't comment on those). They were all too intimidating for me to return as a beginner and not very inviting or staff were off-putting and not very welcoming for a sometimes awkward individual like myself. Also a few of the studios were a part of a chain that lacked any personal touch or real yoga feel (some also felt stiff and not very relaxing in general). 532Yoga didn't feel anything like my previous experiences elsewhere and it felt very warm and welcoming upon arrival and the class was very enjoyable for once. I can't wait to go back and try another class!

This place deserves zero stars for disgusting treatment of clients. Suzanne, the owner, just hung up on me after I reached out with concerns about my first experience at the studio. She would not let me speak, spoke over me, and hung up on me while I was attempting to speak. With that attitude, she has absolutely no place being a yoga instructor or working anywhere near the practice of yoga. She reflects the opposite of what the practice should be.

The concerns I raised were about the instructor, Maia, who was very unfriendly and made me feel uncomfortable with her manner, and about their COVID-safe practices. I bought a one-month pass because the studio appealed to me, as well as the information about complying with COVID-safe practices as part of the “ALX Promise.” Upon attending my first class, as I mentioned, the vibe was anything but friendly and welcoming, instead I was made to feel like I was intruding. There were also no COVID-safe practices being followed. Props were being put back in their normal place, no instruction to wipe them down or place them in separate bins for later disinfection. There was also no hand sanitizer available in the studio and the instructor instructed us to rub our palms and rub them on our faces, after handling props that might not have been disinfected.

I expressed these concerns via voice message because I could not find a person or email address to reach out to and also filled out the online form for someone to contact me. The owner, Suzanne, contacted me and upon my answering the phone, she proceeded to justify the unfriendly behavior of the instructor and go on and on about how they were doing everything right. This went on for about five minutes, while I listened quietly. When it was my turn to speak, she would not let me. She challenged me when I said that my experience with other studios in the area had been different as they were practicing a more serious COVID protocol, asking me to tell her what was different. However, when I tried to explain, she would not let me. I asked to please speak and she continued to speak over me and immediately hung up on me.

I had requested a refund because I do not feel comfortable being part of this studio, I didn’t feel it before speaking with Suzanne and I was less comfortable after speaking with her due to how she treated me. She wanted to charge me the full price of the class $27, which in itself is outrageous, and I noted that had I known I would be paying $27 for a single class, I never would have considered it. I requested to be charged $20 for the class and refunded the rest. However, since she hung up on me, I didn’t know what she would do. I followed up with a text and after about an hour, Suzanne replied telling me that she had hung up on me because of my negative energy and because she had other clients to attend to. What kind of business, especially a yoga practice, treats any client with such little respect? Honestly, I’m appalled by this woman’s behavior and wish I never had the misfortune of buying the pass so I would never have had to deal with her.

If you want to be part of a studio where clients’ concerns don’t matter and you are talked down and shut down, by all means go here. But know there are so many better, friendlier options in the area that deserve your business much more than this place.

Unbelievably rude service to clients and totally unpleasant and unnecessary experience dealing with this place. If you look at their Yelp reviews, you notice a trend from the lower ratings and it has to do with the poor attitude of the owner, who doesn’t seem to care about new clients.o

I began practicing yoga at 532 Yoga before Covid-19, took a break when everything shut down and then due to serious health issues, I returned in-person during the summer once they re-opened and have been there pretty much every single day. The studio follows COVID-19 precautions and I always felt safe. The instructors at this studio are professional and very knowledge about the body and what you might need to help you. The owner's alignment class is one of my favorites, but truly all the other classes I attend regularly are all amazing and have been critical to my health and well-being. I've seen all kinds of people come to the practice, in other words I felt like I belonged in my own way, have found my own rythym, and have felt right at home. 532Yoga has seriously been a life-saver for me - I highly recommend it.

I moved to Old Town right before the quarantine lockdown went into place so I haven't practiced or attended a yoga class in months. Today I signed up for an alignment class with Suzanne and really enjoyed tuning in with what was going on with my alignment in foundational poses. Suzanne's expertise and cues really helped me think about my seated posture, plank, downward, upward dog and chaturanga dandasana in ways I hadn't before. The studio is beautiful, clean, full of good energy--I'll definitely be back for more classes. This studio provides the highest caliber yoga instruction in Old Town - the best I have found after trying 4 studios. I’ve practiced yoga for 18 years with studios and instructors in 5 different countries. It is rare in the to find a studio with truly excellent instruction and offerings. It is a gem.

Suzanne is an exceptionally skilled teacher who clearly is dedicated to her own practice in a way as to share her experience and knowledge with her students. She is generous, patient, and competent, bringing the yogic philosophy to the studios offerings. I would highly recommend this studio for beginners or advanced yogis looking for a like minded community and high quality, safe instruction.

I moved back to DC five years ago and have struggled to find my new "home" studio. My practice lapsed. Life happened. But I found 532 this summer through Class Pass, and I instantly felt good about the space - and class with Ginny as an instructor really sealed the deal. The focus on alignment in every class was really important to me, and I've found that to be the case with most of the instructors I've tried at 532. It's a great, light-filled space with great staff. So thrilled to have found it and I'm always excited to get back to on my mat there.

I’m so lucky to have found 532Yoga. After one class with Suzanne, I was hooked! As a beginner, I thoroughly enjoy her Alignment and Gentle/Restorative class. Not only does Suzanne take the time to guide you into each pose, she also educates you on your body and yoga, in general.

Each class, I learn more about myself and always leave with a sense of peace. But the amazing benefits of yoga don’t stop at the studio, I’ve incorporated it throughout my life and always find myself saying things like “protect your back”, “keep your hips square”, “dorsal spine in, armpit chest lifted” and a classic one “relax the buttocks”.

I can’t recommend 532yoga enough!

5 stars for 532Yoga! The studio on North Washington Street in Old Town is beautiful, warm and inviting. Signing up and getting to class is easy; parking is a breeze. This review is specifically for the Gentle/Restorative class.

From my first day at 532, I have found that it feels friendly and welcoming to people of all ages and experience levels. Not formerly a yoga practitioner, I was so glad to find the Gentle/ Restorative class. I have been going to that class for about 4 months. I am definitely stronger and more flexible now and my previous joint pain has gone away. The teacher Suzanne is extremely knowledgeable. She offers helpful adjustments and explains most every move. There is variety in the classes and she makes it fun. Also, Suzanne is really funny!

I look forward to the classes! I leave the class upbeat and energized with a relaxed mood and a sense of calm. Thanks Suzanne!

Yesterday, I attended the last session of the beginners series offered on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. I've been practicing yoga for a few years and was happy to attend this class to get back to basics and refine my practice. Sitting in the back of the class, I noticed that the students in the class - some of which had never practiced yoga before - had great form and alignment in the warrior poses. This is a testament to Le's instruction and attention to detail.

I highly recommend practicing at this studio. The teachers are serious about what they do and they meet you where you are in your practice. This practice will not only challenge you on the mat, but it will change your perspective on how you can overcome challenges in other parts of your life. This has been true for me as I continue to push myself in practice and continue to be a part of the community at 532Yoga.

I started going to this studio in the fall of 2016 after only trying Bikram yoga a few years before. I had tried a few other studios in Old Town, but the lack of instruction given during the classes lead me to try out 532Yoga. It felt like just because I had taken a yoga class before, the instructors assumed I knew what I was doing.

If you’ve never done yoga before, they have a variety of classes you can take to learn the basic principles of body alignment in poses. Likewise if you’re a dedicated yoga student: be ready for a challenging yet fun class! Whether its arm balances, single leg standing poses, or inversions, the instructors are very capable of walking you through the steps and providing encouragement along the way. If you are looking for a quality yoga studio, look no further than 532!

I bought a groupon for 10 classes. Then, a few months later I have been told that my groupon had expired, suddenly. I only used 5 classes. In my groupon there was not information about 90 or 120 day policy. In fact when I asked what has happened, Suzanne said that it simply expired with no explanation and added that if I purchased a full price classes, she would extend the 5 remaining classes. What?
This is just bad business! I was cheated out of my 5 classes!!

Workshops are regularly held to focus on varied subjects such as hip openers, assists, nutrition, meditation and related topics such as Ayurvedic cooking.

About two years ago, I made the transition from "gym yoga" to the 532Yoga studio after much encouragement from one of the instructors, Ginny Loving, despite being highly intimidated. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the instructors and fellow students were very welcoming and supportive. The Yoga Teacher Training program has been an exceptional experience thus far under the direction of Suzanne Leitner-Wise and has significantly improved my practice and understanding of yoga philosophy.

I have tried many of the yoga studios in Old Town and hands down like 532 Yoga the best. The thing that sets 532 apart to me is the instruction. No matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced yogi, the instruction at 532 is both excellent and thorough.

Each instructor is incredibly knowledgeable and will talk you through getting the most out of each pose. The result is that no matter what your personal level, the expert instruction raises the bar for the whole class. The space is great, props are provided, parking is free (which is rare in Old Town), and there's even a cute little boutique of yoga items attached. There is* a difference in yoga studios. The first class at 532 Yoga is free, which I also thought was nice.
