Alloy has been a great experience for me and I can't recommend it enough. I started out with the goal of just trying to be healthier but the benefits have extended beyond physical fitness. Every time I leave a session I feel like I challenged myself and came out of it stronger, and that has given me a lot more confidence outside the gym. All the trainers are great and Alloy Old Town is very well run from top to bottom. Just a fantastic experience all around.

I’ve been training at Alloy for nearly a year and they keep me growing at my own pace and ability. The staff are amazing and I’ve found a community of people who just want to be healthy. No frills or fancy fashion, but a personal high quality program that is helping me get stronger, lift heavier things and feel good inside and out. They also give back to many local nonprofits and community organizations- showing up for our community- that’s good business.

Joining Alloy has been a phenomenally positive decision for me. The small group sessions, 1:1 attention and tracking of my goals is exactly what I needed and I’ve seen dramatic results. But the best part is the sense of community Abby, Michael and the Alloy team have built here. Members laugh together through each session, hold one another accountable and, most importantly, cheer one another on. It’s that fun sense of community that keeps me coming back. Join us! You won’t regret it. Huge thanks to Abby, Michael, Tia and the entire Alloy team for welcoming me to the community!

Great workout. Very professional, friendly and highly motivating fitness coaches! Abby, Lana and Michael have motivated me in the gym while accommodating past injuries
& adjusting exercises to my fitness level. They have helped me improve strength, tone and general health, even building up my knees to overcome past limitations. The small groups and the trainers are the reason that I am motivated to keep returning. I highly recommend Alloy Old Town no matter your fitness level.

One year later I'm still loving my workouts with Alloy. Trainers Abby, Gavin, and Michael keep every session positive and upbeat, motivating everyone in the small groups, while coaching and adjusting exercises for each person. Meanwhile occasional options for yoga, nutrition classes, etc. encourage learning and healthy habits outside the gym.
Highly recommend this small group workout opportunity.

Alloy PT has been an amazing experience so far. It's a supportive but not high pressure environment. There isn't loud music piercing my eardrums, just a great playlist to keep the energy going at a normal level. There's attention to form and very small groups in each class (usually 3 to 6ppl) I really look forward to my sessions each week!

I have a new partner in fitness-my son, who’s home from college! Gavin is a terrific trainer and really honed in on our form and encouraged us to achieve our individual best. A great workout and fun, diverse group of the young (13, 18…) and young at heart (Gen X)! Thank you Team Alloy!

Wow—I am celebrating Alloy Old Town’s one-year anniversary, and all they helped me to achieve, big time! More than 100 workouts later, I am down 45 pounds while retaining muscle mass. Woohoo! Today’s workout with Abby was perfect (chef’s kiss). She ensured my form was correct, challenged me to choose heavier weights, encouraged me and helped me at the end of the workout with a bonus exercise to work on my glutes after a sedentary day of work. I can’t thank the team enough for helping me to reclaim my health and strength!

I am so grateful I found the terrific training team and community at Alloy in Old Town Alexandria! After struggling with getting back into shape (not easy when women go through menopause) I decided to jump back in, and have had terrific support from Abby, Steph, David, Julian and Michael. Consider it a boutique, friendlier and less stressful alternative to other full-body workout gyms. With classes limited to 6 people, the top-notch trainers take you through your stations, making accommodations for your skill level or limitations. Every workout I’ve had with the team, I felt challenged, supported and we have a great sense of community, cheering each other on. In 2.5 months I feel so much stronger, more energetic, and my doctor gave a big thumbs up after seeing my lab results. Big thumbs up!

Being part of Alloy has been a positive experience for me. Initially, I had some reservations about the small group setting since I'm not typically comfortable in group environments. However, I've found that the camaraderie among the regulars in my time slot has been quite enjoyable. I appreciate how the workouts are customized to meet my individual needs, even in a semi-private format. Overall, I highly recommend Alloy for anyone looking for a supportive and tailored fitness experience.

I found this gym at a time when I was rapidly losing muscle and balance - the dreaded 50s. It’s been 5 months since I started and I’m able to do things like lift a 55lb suitcase into a taxi, carry several grocery bags at once for several feet, climb several flights of stairs, walk fast and far - all the things I took for granted. Alloy has figured out a magic formula of only 6 full body exercises in an hour and everyone in your class is at different levels and ages. The instructors are informative, encouraging and will tailor each exercise to your aches and pains. Not kidding. Go! Don't be surprised if you start flexing your biceps to your friends and family for ooos and ahhs. 💪💪💪💪

Alloy is the place to be if you seek a transformative physical training program. The coaches at Alloy are incredibly knowledgeable, fully engaged, and deeply invested in each participant's success. The diversity within the six-member groupings is remarkable, encompassing everyone from marathon runners to individuals recovering from injuries. The diversity, combined with the excellently trained and invested coaches, ensures that everyone feels challenged yet supported regardless of their fitness level.

Personally, at nearly 60 years old, I joined Alloy with an injured shoulder, which I had broken only six months prior, and arthritic knees. I have been astounded by the coaches’ meticulous attention to my specific needs and the excellent variety of exercises and equipment available to ensure success.

The results have been nothing short of amazing. In a mere 90 days, I have experienced a dramatic increase in my strength and mobility. I feel much fitter and healthier than I did when I arrived at Alloy. I am committed to continuing and cannot recommend this program highly enough. If you're looking for a physical training program that not only delivers results but exceptional results, Alloy is the answer.

Alloy Old Town provides excellent personal training classes. They go at a good pace, they always make time for guided stretching beforehand - which I personally appreciate - and it's a great environment to work out in - everyone there is supportive and cheers each other on. All of the coaches are terrific, but I have to give a special shout-out to Michael, who does a wonderful job providing modifications for the workouts if you have an injury. And they also put together some great social events each month, which are always a lot of fun. Can't recommend Alloy enough!

Outstanding welcome/sign up meeting!

I was provided guidance and instruction from Ms. Abby regarding my fitness program.

She went way beyond in explaining and ensuring that I understood my roles and responsibilities, my commitment, the ease of scheduling, my nutrition/diet and the most important thing was she made me comfortable with the goals that WE set

I should be able to provide a SIX star rating for Ms. Abby, so I will do it here!

I’ve been working out at Alloy sine they opened and am significantly stronger and more flexible than when I started. I typically train with Abby, Michael or Lana and appreciate what each one brings to the sessions.

I am 100% a person that does NOT enjoy working out. However, working with coaches Steph, Michael, Lana, and Abby, they have created a great environment to learn to appreciate fitness. Since starting in March 2024, I have been coming consistently doing my best to avoid missing a class. In addition, the people I’ve met in class are great and friendly. We all work together in our fitness journey and hold each other accountable.

If you’re looking for guidance and support, this is a great place to start your fitness journey. Classes are small (no more than 6 people) and you’ll get personalized attention to work up your strength.

Not having an active workout schedule in the past, Alloy has been a great PT in supporting my training objectives. I love the small classes and all the coaches but Abby is my favorite!

Abby is focused on helping me achieve my goals and makes every session challenging (& somehow fun). My fitness has increased noticeably and I’ve seen improvements in my ability to do more exercise and, lift progressively heavier weights & generally push myself harder throughout each session. I find I actually look forward to my workouts.

Importantly:

– She ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries.

I thoroughly enjoy working out at Alloy and would recommend Abby & her team to anyone looking to improve their fitness!!

My husband and I joined Alloy a little over a month ago. We wanted to find a gym that would help us meet our fitness goals. Alloy has exactly what we were looking for. A small personal training space where the coaches challenge you to reach for heavier weighs and be sure you’re safe while using the proper form. All of the coaches we’ve worked on it with have been great. We highly encourage anyone to go and check out alloy. We look forward to workouts every week and to get involved more in the community events.

It's a clean facility and the workouts are challenging. The coaches will adapt the workouts based on your limitations so that you still get something out of them. The small class size allows for more "individualized" training sessions. I've really enjoyed all of the coaches I've interacted with in the afternoon and weekend classes - Abby, Michael, Lana- and the other members have all been great people making the overall environment a lot of fun.

Alloy is great fitness community to join! The instructors are phenomenal, meeting you where you’re at- offering amplifications or modifications based on your fitness level. Everyone does the same set of exercises, but it’s very customizable to your ability level, with some extra time to work on any additional exercises at the end of the class to really tailor your experience. There’s usually one hour free parking in the garage beside the studio. Because the class sizes are small, you do have to book in advance to get a spot.

I've been going since this studio opened. The small class size allows for individual attention and focus on form and effort.

I've joined group workout gyms before, and like shutting down my brain and doing the exercises of the day. But I'll always do what's prescribed and nothing more. At Alloy, the instructor sees if something is too easy and makes it harder. It's great to have that partner who tracks my progress, and individually tailors the workouts as we get stronger.

Alloy has been a great experience for me and it has a lot of what was looking for. I was going too easy on myself working out on my own and I needed some guidance. I like the idea of having a personal trainer that knows my goals, and Alloy has that. But I've also found that having other people in the training session makes it feel like we're all in this together, which pushes me to do better. That's what is different about Alloy compared to other personal training experiences I've had. All the coaches have been fantastic. They pay attention to how you're doing the exercises, give pointers, and tailor the workouts to your fitness level and goals. That's exactly what I was looking for.

Bicycling and running are two of my hobbies, but I'm not getting any younger -- so I joined Alloy to help ensure I can enjoy both for years to come. The experience has been phenomenal -- in under three months, I can feel the progress I've made, both physically and mentally.

Every trainer has been great to work with -- they know their stuff, will correct you if your form is off, encourage you when you need it -- and perhaps most important of all, they meet you where you (and your fitness levels) are. All egos are checked at the door, and everyone in class (never more than six students) supports one another, even if they've never met before that class.

If you're looking to get in shape, get in better shape, be your best self, any/all of that -- give it a shot.
