I'm from the Tidewater area, but now live out of town and I used this AF gym once while I was in town for a few days this week. I do not understand why this particular location is rated so highly - it must be the staff and the members because the equipment is old & banged up and the overall gym space is too small/confining. I felt like I needed a tetanus shot just to touch some of the equipment. The free weights area needs to be expanded as it feels claustrophobic when there are 3 or more people in that space; also, the mat flooring in that area has bubbles in it, which is a tripping hazard. I won't be using this gym again. Management definitely needs to invest in expanding the overall space and updating the equipment.

Beware before you sign anything. They will not let you out of your contract unless you pay it off. Worst gym policy I have ever dealt with. Just beware if you have a life emergency, and lose your job and become homeless. They still want their money they will not cancel without you paying off your contract.

Wow. Exactly what I was looking for: The manager, Misha, really cares about her members and it shows. She knows each and every one of us by name. Its is always clean, a ton of modern equipment to choose from, tanning, classes, a private studio to get some boxing in, always open 24-7-365. If I travel, I can choose from 5,000 other Anytime Fitnesses with my membership. Truly a βgem of a gymβ in Hayes.

I toured the Gym today. By far the most complete gym in the area. They have all the equipment I need. Itβs clean and smells nice. The Manager is very informative and I can tell she cares about the clients. Canβt beat the price to have access to a private club in Hayes.

This place is a joke, and the people that run it are liars, do not trust a word they say!! I was told when I signed up for the gym that if something happened like I moved, which I did, they would let me out of my contract. Now I'm getting the run around and I can't even get someone on the phone. That just shows how poor these jokers are, all for $21 a month. I would encourage anyone who reads this review to go elsewhere, worst experience I've ever had with a gym!!!

The Anytime Fitness Hayes location is convenient with its 24/7 hours. It has free weight benches that I prefer . Could use some more dumbbells. Tidy. Our new manager James is the best. A huge improvement over his predecessor Alex. He is attentive, quick to make members happy, witty and kindly. He replaced a vertical blind that was allowing sun to get into your eyes when on the stationary bike. No questions asked. Did it in two minutes. The other MGR flat out refused, was rude and stated corporate would not allow it. Thanks James for all you've done for us members.

I was at the big purple monster, but since they arent 24 hours anymore, I had to find a gym to fit my schedule (I work nights, often getting off at midnight). Started going here with my little brother and wouldnβt even often go then one day all of a sudden my brother canβt get in with me when I pay ~$35 a month. I joined Anytime Fitness in Hayes almost a year ago now! I am so impressed with the classes, equipment and free weights! I also took the opportunity to add team training to my routine and I am so glad I did. It gives you the extra motivation to get to the gym or just gets you a really strong workout in an hour if you're in a time crunch. So so worth it!

The gym staff is highly interactive and always provide a clean, stocked, and friendly atmosphere for working out. A big bonus is the array of classes and knowledgeable trainers!
After hours? The gym is stocked with products and doors always locked by keyfobe. Perfect for the insomniac gainer!

I've been to several gyms over the years, but anytime fitness in Hayes is my home gym and they are closely tied with the people and the community in Gloucester County. I love the people, the staff and the members and of course Zumba class. Come here if you want the best experience.

I have never visited this gym, but I have a real sense that it is a beautiful facility. I have worked out at over 20 Anytime Fitness locations. I do though have something in common with whoever wrote, "Dirty place, not staffed until sometimes noon." What we have in common is that we've never visited the place. The reason for the animosity is is a mystery, but it is just animosity.

I wanted to come do a quick workout because I was staying nearby at Jellystone. Google says (as well as the building) "open 24/7, 365!" The office doesn't open until 1pm. As I knocked on the door I peaked through the window and saw the staff starting at me and then continued about their business as if I wasn't there.
Just based on this alone I won't be returning to anytime fitness anytime soon.

The other reviews on here are great, so I may have just hit on a bad pocket. Tried the 7-day free trial and really liked it - I love gyms and classes, and everyone was very nice. But when I set up an appointment to get a year-long membership, there was no one in the office to help me. After waiting for 10min, I interrupted a trainer, who said the girl I set up an appointment with had left with a migraine. Migraines are the worst - I get it. But there's no excuse for not calling (or having another employee call) your future customer to let them know you won't be there. The trainer offered to set up my membership after he finished with his client, so I waited another 10min for him to be done. He then spent a long time trying to set up a membership for me, but wasn't able to, because he was only recently trained. That's fair, and he was very nice. He apologized and promised to call (or have someone else) call me on Monday (this was the Friday before). I waited until Wednesday, and received no call. So I went by to return my key fob. Both the girl and trainer were there, along with another woman, who asked me why I didn't want the membership. When I explained the situation and said I didn't want to spend $500 for this kind of customer service, they all just stared at me and said, "Okay." No apologies or offers to make it right. So I left. In summation: great gym, great price, really nice people, but I personally did not have a good experience with the customer service.

This is not my regular gym, I am home for the week visiting family, and I was pleasantly surprised that the amenities of this Anytime Fitness far exceed my normal location! I attended an amazing gentle yoga class, and I found new and interesting equipment I had never encountered- it has been a very long time since anything but treadmills and ellipticals are the only cardio options. There is a ladder climber and a machine to help with stretching your legs and back! Friendly staff, clean environment, and lots of available equipment means I will be back often!

So I just went in for prices and the terms and such. I'll completely admit I went in feeling rather annoyed with just finishing with another gym where the experience was well... annoying! Well, the wonderful staff here gave me a great tour; short, sweet and to the point WITHOUT any gimmicks or other selling points! And let me just say... this location is fantastically clean and quiet. IM SOLD and I'm not easily sold on gyms!!!! I found the perfect little oasis for workout. I'm big into working out and this has everything I need, want and no other junk! Thank you ladies for making my day so much better and for the great customer service!
