Lack of diversity, old equipment, the treadmills are loud and outdated, constant renovation and painting prohibiting gym use, small cramped space between equipment, lack of engaging classes, no locker rooms, no massage beds nor similar amenities. When you complain to staff about disrespectful gym patrons they respond by saying it’s a public space… if you want a gym that’s the bare bones, it’s for you. I recommend literally any other gym in the area for larger space, new equipment, diverse crowd, group classes, personal training, and better amenities. The only reason I went here was because it’s a 6min drive from my house. My other gym is a 12min drive and those extra 6min are SO worth it.

If you want to avoid racist passive aggressive encounters, avoid this facility.

In addition, the process to cancel membership is unnecessarily complicated requiring you to send in the request via snail mail to their billing office in another state…

I stopped by on a whim today without an appointment, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. I expected a long wait, but they got me in surprisingly fast. Everything felt smooth and well-organized, which you don’t always find when walking in somewhere for the first time.

What really stood out was the level of professionalism and genuine friendliness. They didn’t make me feel like an inconvenience at all—in fact, it felt like they were happy to have me there. The space was clean, inviting, and had a calm, positive atmosphere.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as a walk-in, but the service exceeded my expectations in every way. I’ll definitely be coming back, and next time, I’ll probably book ahead—but it’s great to know that they treat spontaneous visitors with just as much care and attention.

I have been a member since 2021, going to this same location because it’s overall the best gym for me. Very uplifting and welcoming staff, Sue and Evan are always the best with making me feel like family there. There’s a lot of pride taken with keeping the facility clean, love that. What you want to see in a gym is new and well-maintained equipment. This gym has it!
Surrounding gyms have limited staffed hours and staff turnover rate is extremely high.
Visited a surrounding gym in Lake Ridge and will never do that again. Trash bags were all over the floor,
no towels out for sanitization, rude and unprofessional staff wearing nothing but a t-shirt.
It's hard to distinguish who is a staff member and who is a patron. This location gets A+. It meets
every expectation from gym hours, overall value, training options, guest privileges, and EXCELLENT
cleanliness and sanitization. Most gyms sign you up and then forget you exist. THIS GYM TREATS you like FAMILY!
Don't forget to ask for a customized membership! Get pricing for each gym and do your research! They will not stick
to the corporate pricing like the other Anytime Fitness GYMS! A+ GYM!

By far the best facility around. This location is outstanding from the staff, to the equipment, to the facility itself. From the ownership, to management, to the trainers, by far the nicest and most knowledgeable staff in the business today. I am certainly satisfied thus far and have been blown away by my experience at this facility! The manager Sue is always extremely helpful and accommodating! Evan is training my son, to get him ready for his baseball season and is doing an amazing job! He is a great role model for my son and not only helping him gain knowledge in the gym, but is showing what hard work can get you!

In addition, they are more affordable than surrounding gyms! They won't charge you $100 enrollment fees. They also have flexible guest amenities and customized membership options. Love this gym!!

The large and ill mannered crowds at the bigger gyms chased me to Dumfries Anytime Fitness. Round the clock access and people dedicated to getting their workout done and getting out of there has improved my workouts and health tremendously since I joined a year ago. Enough gear to get the workout you need and they are adding even more equipment. Absolutely no regrets signing up for my membership and can’t recommend it enough!

I absolutely love this gym! I've worked out at other local gyms, even was staffed at one of them, and this is by far my favorite gym. Everyone is so friendly and encouraging! It has a neighborhood vibe to it, which I love. I started training with Evan - if you're looking for someone who is motivating, encouraging, and intense, he's it! Also, the whole gym is so clean. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their gym and equipment. Everyone, including those who work out, are focused on keeping it clean and tidy.

Very clean facility. Great staff and family like environment. The personal trainer Michael has been instrumental in preparing my sons for division 1 ball. He also worked on players from my club at NVSC and got them ready for college. Always see him assisting clients in the gym, teaching them how to use proper technique while using various equipment's. Decent gym based in a outwardly racist community, most of the staff works hard for the gym to have a good atmosphere and clean environment but it’s overshadowed by the fact the patrons are obviously discriminating to people of color.

Today I walked in and said hello to one of the trainers (short muscular man with tattoos) and was met with nothing but cold stares and unwelcoming energy. As I walked through the establishment I heard slick comments and chuckling by the older caucasian patrons.

I’ve been going here for three years but today was the last straw, switching to the another gym in the area with a better community and way better equipment.

As soon as I walked in the employee was very rude. Cut me off multiple times. Definitely terrible customer service. I signed up for a guest passed and they emailed me saying it was ready. I am military and I do not have a Virgina ID. I was told I could not do the guest pass without the Virgina ID. I was hoping to get a membership here, but that wasn’t the case. Not happy with this place. It was a lady, she didn’t mention her name at all either.

Last year I signed up for a membership with Anytime Fitness and due to my disability, I was forced to terminate my membership. I was instructed by the manager of that facility to provide documentation from my doctor to relieve me of any additional financial requirements. I turned in the documentation that was required only to find out that a year later that the letter did not have the words, "substantial disability" to qualify for termination. The letter was signed by my doctor and had all her contact information. The manager saw the letter and it was accepted only to be turned down by ABC financial who is a billing group for anytime fitness who haven't been qualified to deny a doctors note. The problems are the methods of contact and the clarification that was needed to avoid my account going to collections and unethical business contract medical termination procedures. When I turned in the documentation that I received from my provider after waiting for a substantial time just to see my provider anytime fitness continued to charge my account. The entire cancellation process appears to have unethical business practices without clarification that the words "substantially disabled" must be in the letter and contact through email is the primary means of communication. ABC financial did attempt to contact me through email and the email went to junk mail, I received no call but they said they did and they said they mailed a letter but I haven't seen them. My account went to collections that I have resolved but it should not have and additionally, I was charged 180 dollars during the months of their efforts to resolve this matter.

Joining this gym is a breeze - cancelling it? Not so much. I cancelled this account in June or at least I thought I did. You have to send written request (which I did) and then cross your fingers and hope that Anytime Fitness's financial company (ABC Financial) actually receives your request via mail. A few months later, I realize I'm still being charged. I called Anytime Fitness but no one was answering despite me calling during staffed hours. Then, I call ABC Financial, they tell me they never received the letter and explain that only the manager can approve a credit for the previous months. Eventually, I finally talk to Sue, the manager of the Dumfries AF. She tells me that "in good faith" she'll cancel the account as of today and I'll have one more payment to make. If you're reading this still, you understand my dismay. Throughout the call she continued to insult me by saying I was only so perturbed because she wasn't telling me what I wanted to hear and that her hands were tied without the letter. Customer service is dead at Anytime Fitness and even IF the space were bigger, had nicer equipment, and a friendlier staff I STILL wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware. DO NOT sign your name to any contract with this location unless you live in the area, and SERIOUSLY plan on using their facilities. DO NOT sign your credit away because she, the owner, will do everything in her power to destroy it. I provided doctors notices after having two major car accidents in 2014 that put me in over a year of physical therapy. I provided her with the medical documentation proving I needed to cancel my membership. She STILL is hounding me for the last several months of my membership there. She refuses to let them go. Now I no longer live in the area, and she is marring my credit history over a few hundred dollars for the months of service that I didn't use her establishment due to things that were out of my control, and she refuses to provide me with copies of the contract. It has been a nightmare. Again, Caveat Emptor.
