This is one of the cleanest and largest gymnastics gym in the county! The Coaches here have years of experience coaching and knowledge compared to others. Your kids are handled with care and know child is neglected, they love helping your kid build upon their skills!

Great gym to start your kids in gymnastics. Our kids started in their rec program there years ago and our daughter is currently in their DP. Management has always been very quick to respond to any concerns or questions. Great communication between coaches and parents.

We transferred from a different gym for new positive and thriving environment. Which we received. The coaches at Apollo took their time to rebuild my child’s confidence and get to know her a gymnast. Being able to sit and watch whenever was a bonus as well. Admin wise there is always someone at the front to greet and answer questions. As well Jacquie was always informative with emails to practices and anything families needed to know. You also have access to communicate with your coaches.

We absolutely love Apollo gymnastics. We have been attending for 6+ years now and have 2 kiddos on the XCEL team. We love the coaches and see consistent skill growth with our girls.

We are now former customers of Apollo after being dedicated customers for the better part of a decade The systematic destruction of their men's program was heartbreaking. They lost several extremely talented men's gymnastics coaches willfully so.

TLDR/BLUF: Great coaches and facility. Terrible management and communication. FIND A DIFFERENT GYM.

Longer version: Until recently, our son attended Apollo for the last three years. He started with zero gymnastics experience in their recreational program and moved into their competition team after approximately the first year. He excelled on that team (along with his peers) and Apollo, again, until recently, had one of the strongest competitive boys gymnastics program in Virginia going back years. This is largely a testament to the strong coaching program Apollo built over a long period of time and the prior management team.

Unfortunately, over the last year, Apollo's new management has systematically dismantled and starved one of the top boys gymnastics programs in the state. As coaches left, they were never replaced. Months ago, management abruptly and curtly informed participants that the program was being shut down. Despite the gravity of this message, they provided no substantive reason for doing so. It's possible the reason was financial; however, this is total conjecture and the parents were given no potential option to increase tuition payments. Lacking any explanation, we were left with rumors, which was simply that the new management didn't like the boys competitive program (despite their long history of success) and wanted to shut it down. As petty and short-sighted as that sounds, it does align with our impressions of the new owner prior to this last move. Communication from her was highly infrequent over the last year and we heard various stories about participants who were booted from the gym for questioning her decisions. Again, these were rumors, but consistent with many of the other reviews here.

Maybe you're reading this and thinking .... "Who cares if Apollo cut the boys program? I have a daughter!" The point is .... If she did it to us, she could eventually do it to some subset of you. The mismanagement, the poor communication, the petty decisions is a detriment to ALL of the athletes and coaches at Apollo.

If you're reading this as a potential new customer, you owe it to yourself and your children to find a better gym in the area. No amount of skill and ability amongst the current coaches at Apollo can outweigh the dysfunction of the management team and the longer that dysfunction continues, the more likely the remaining coaching cadre looks elsewhere.

This is a sinking ship. Get off it now.

Management is passive aggressive and rude. Their staff is slightly better than management. Not worth the headache they will cause. Coaching is decent but not worth the overall experience. Our family will not come here again.

** Updated review
I'm revisiting my review after reading your response to my previous feedback. Unfortunately, I still have concerns regarding my recent experience with Apollo Gymnastics.

Firstly, I'd like to clarify that I never received any calls, only automated email messages regarding payment issues without proper explanations. This led me to make multiple attempts to re-enroll my kids, which was frustrating.

In the instance where my wife and I reached out, we contacted the front desk directly, and it was the front desk that initiated contact with Jacquie.

One major point of frustration was the difficulty we faced with payment. If credit card payments are not accepted over the phone or in person, it creates a significant inconvenience for customers. This limitation, combined with issues related to the online portal, suggests there may be a flaw in the payment system that needs addressing.

I would strongly recommend improving communication and making the payment process more user-friendly. The customer experience should be a top priority.

Comparatively, I found that Youth Sports Virginia Training Center in the same area offers lower fees and has a higher rating of 4.6 compared to Apollo Gymnastics' 3.7 rating.

Lastly, I'd like to note that it took several weeks to receive a response to my initial Google review. Due to the inaccuracies in the response, my confidence in the communication and responsiveness of Apollo Gymnastics has been further diminished.

** Previous review

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Apollo Gymnastics, and it was primarily due to the actions of their so-called "manager," Jackie, who single-handedly managed to ruin the entire experience. To say that I'm dissatisfied would be an understatement.

To provide some context, I had successfully enrolled my kids in their gymnastic classes in August, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. However, out of the blue, I discovered that my account had been inexplicably closed, and I was unable to enroll my kids for the Fall classes.

Naturally, I reached out to the front desk for an explanation, and they directed me to email Jackie, the manager. I promptly sent an email outlining my concerns and seeking clarification. However, to my dismay, I received no response whatsoever.

Frustrated and confused, I decided to call the front desk again to understand the situation better. That's when I was informed that Jackie, the manager, had not only closed my account but had also instructed the staff not to enroll my kids, even if I provided my credit card information over the phone or in person.

It is simply astonishing that in a business environment, a manager would opt for such a detrimental course of action rather than making an effort to grow the business and satisfy its customers.

This experience marks the first time I've encountered a manager actively hindering business growth and customer satisfaction. Frankly, it's both absurd and highly unprofessional.

I was more than willing to continue investing my hard-earned money into this establishment, but their refusal to enroll my kids and the manager's questionable decisions have convinced me that this is not a place that values its customers.

I want to make it abundantly clear to the higher-ups in this establishment that I can easily take my business elsewhere. There are plenty of other centers that would be more than happy to have my patronage.

Adding to my frustration, I attempted to use the same valid credit card that had successfully enrolled my kids in August, so there's simply no reasonable explanation for their inability to process it now.

In summary, my experience with Apollo Gymnastics has been nothing short of a nightmare. I strongly urge others to think twice before considering their services, as this is an establishment that appears to prioritize arbitrary decisions over customer satisfaction and growth.

I wish I could give this review a zero-star rating, but unfortunately, there is no such option available.

I highly recommend Apollo Gymastics to anyone seeking for a gym. The facility is great and state of the art!
All Coaches ensure your kids safety at all times. Been to a few gyms, Apollo Coaches hands down care about the Safety of the kids and not just pushing the kids through training.
One mention in particular, Coach Wellington - he defintely deserves many appreciation and accolades. He knows how to get the best out of my daughter and pushes her to be better everyday he's with her. You can tell, he really cares for those girls!

I registered my daughter for 9 weeks class, i did not have a satisfaction to give the center an excellent review for different reasons below:

1. The instructor who suppose to work with the kids to bring their skills up, busy most of time playing with her phone.

2. Instructor or/and center did not follow up with parents during the program and after the program too.

3. Discovered later the i instructor left the center and missed the last class with the kids without any notice from center to parent.

4. No evaluation or follow up when the clss ended.

5. When we did the evaluation they said your daughter need to back again to same class before she go to the next level as she missed some points during the evaluation by another instructor and when i asked my daughter she said we did not practice that before. I told the evaluator that if she did not go to next level because you did not meet the goals you put for the class as you prepare the skills and develop it for them.

Summary, waste my daughter and my time and my money as they care about payments only.

Besides the 3.5 rating, I thought this gymnastics school would be promising for my daughter, because there are some good reviews and it was her first time. They also have a free trial class, granted my daughter hasn't been in any sports etc and she just turned 5... she's still in Vpk and is STILL learning to follow directions and listen. She's very active and loves to be creative and is hands on with learning. I get it all teachers are all different, but at the same time the staff should follow their promotion; 'guide your child as they learn the social and physical skills that will help them throughout their life.' It also says on the website 'they will acquire patience...' With that being stated, one of the staff members being Ms. Madison should of talked with me instead of the other teacher, Coach Natalie and front desk clerk about which class she recommends for my daughter. We could of talked for a brief couple of moments before her next class about how my daughter was upset; and how we could better assist her in being more confident as a team. She felt like she could not ‘get it right' in her words and was frustrated. I really did not appreciate how the matter was handled. If Apollo school is wanting potential students it is most important to make a good impression on the parents. Being that we pay to assist in keeping the building open and the staff to assist in our children's growth and aspirations. I am grateful for being able to see how some of your staff favors certain students instead of giving all children fair one on one time whether advance or not. If this is a prestigious school then should not the staff members conduct themselves in a certain manner? I'd rather not waste my time in coming back, I hope that next time there is a potential student that things are handled professionally. That is all.

Parents be advised: Avoid Apollo Gymnastics if at all possible. Management is generally disrespectful of parents (I have multiple examples over a two year period) and coaching is subpar. Because I posted a negative (though truthful) review of this gym on Google.com, the gym administrator “assumed [we] would not be re-enrolling for next season.”, but failed to tell us this for about a week until we [unfortunately] tried to re-enroll our daughter (she insisted despite our advice). A very passive-aggressive act on the part of this administrator. Why not act like an adult and just ask about the review? Or seek to clarify intent to re-enroll? I guess they don’t get that a gymnast might want to remain at a gym like this even though the parents know it’s not a good investment/experience for them. The fact that this place could choose to not allow a young gymnast to re-enroll after 2 years time invested due to a simple not-positive Google Review indicates how much this place really cares about its gymnasts. This is especially unnerving due to the mental anguish our young gymnasts can go through. This all has a silver lining, though. Our daughter is now a member of a gym that cares about the gymnasts and is coached and guided by active/challenging coaches. We are so glad to be free of the toxicity that is Apollo Gymnastics. Parents should be very skeptical before trusting this place has your gymnasts’ interests at heart. We are not the only parents that feel this way…others are just too scared to speak up.

Additionally, a few weeks ago, this gym also notified parents they must pay for meets (hundreds of dollars extra) in which their children did not compete (paying for meets for other children in different levels of competition). We paid our share for the appropriate level, not for others.

Amazing facility and really great program for boys. The coaches have a good command of the team - the boys respect the coaches and all seem to really enjoy being at the gym. It has become a second family for our son and we appreciate everything Apollo has to offer. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a boys program...we have been to other gyms and this is by far, the best.

So I didn’t have a chance to actually try the gym. I called to schedule a free trial as they do at all the other local young sports programs and was informed that they don’t offer free trials. I would have to pay the Registration fee plus a month worth of classes and if my child doesn’t like it I would have to write a letter to withdrawal them from the program, but I will not receive a refund. I think they should consider changing this policy as you shouldn’t charge a parent over $100 to see if their 4 year old will enjoy and benefit from the activity.

Our daughter was part of the Super Stars class for the 2018-2019 school year. Being her first experience with gymnastics, I should have considered enrolling her in a less intense program. It's very clear that Apollo is more competitive in nature and perhaps not the best fit for beginners.

The coach originally assigned to our daughter's class was there inconsistently for several weeks and eventually took a leave of absence, with different coaches subbing until they finally secured a new coach. The communication regarding these changes was spotty at best.

I think our biggest concern with this business is in regards to the lack of communication from the staff and coaches. We received one report the entire year. One. Obviously we could watch (parent viewing area is a whole other issue) and gauge how she was doing in relation to the rest of the class but for a family who is new to the sport, we had no idea what skills she was working on and what the expectations were.

I don't question that they are good at what they do, particularly at the competitive level, but I would definitely consider what your goals are for your child as well as their personality/needs before attending classes at Apollo.

I'd say 2.5 stars if allowed.

Terrible owners are unpleasant mean and spread rumors about other gyms. They should try running their business better rather than tear other businesses down. 🤬

They have cameras and microphones in parent lobby because they are so paranoid people are gonna say something bad about their gym. Because the owners can be aggressive and intimidating.

They threaten the kids with kicking them off the team when they want to speak out about something. They should try being nice and actually care about their clients rather than be fake.

They only care about the 💰 money which I get is important to keep a business going but spending money on spy equipment on your clients that your supposed to care about is ridiculous.

I would suggest staying away from this gym they have terrible customer service

Maria is very friendly and accommodating. The coaches do an excellent job with the summer camps. They were very welcoming of my young son!

I was a bit disappointed when I had my son’s birthday here. There was a meeting going on in our reserved birthday room when we arrived. The director was very rude. She wouldn’t let my partner and I stay on the gym floor at the same time nor would she allow parents to walk their young children out to the floor. The kids had fun but she made the parents and some children unnecessarily uncomfortable. There was also no air conditioning running in the room. The young girls who were with the kids were great but director was very rude, particularly for the party cost. I wouldn’t have a party here again.

We did tiny tots last year for a few months and it left much to be desired because it was repetitive, literally the same little obstacle course every time. The instructor was inconsistent in the skills taught, some children were supported in advancing skills and the other children would be asked to repeat what they already knew. She was really nice to my daughter though, we did a make up class once and my three year old asked not to go back to that instructor.

Now we are in Hot Shots and when registering I asked for a recommendation on an instructor based on my daughters personality and we could not be happier. My daughter has taken a couple of falls, emotional mornings, and she is patient and reassuring which is exactly what 4 year olds need. She continued to learn new skills during different circuits. We are thrilled we gave it another go!

The upper seating has some broken chairs which is unfortunate but I love being able to watch her, get there early though!

This is the most aggressively run gym in the area. They charge too much. The coaches are great but management is horrible.

They charge a lot of tuition above market rates in the area by comparison. The customer desk is not very friendly and mostly incompetent. The best way to describe how this gym runs its operations is aggressive business practices.

1. It means that gym management and especially gym owner uses their/her position of power to limit your freedom of choice such as forcing you to enter into 9 month agreement for team members. I don't know of any other gym that does that.

2. Using threatening or abusive language or behavior. When I questioned the prices we paid for uniform which cost $325 including taxes for shorts, pants, warmup jacket and pants. The price we paid for these items were 45%-50% higher than standard prices listed on retailers website because the gym places custom orders. When I stated that the prices are too high and excessive, the response I got was "Please don't think you are going to tell me how to run my gym. It is not you choice in what is ordered. It is what it is. End of conversation!"

The worst customer service. Stay away from this gym.
