Aqua Tots in Leesburg provides a safe and welcoming environment for little ones seeking swimming lessons. We have our 4 year old enrolled, and she’s graduated from level 3 to 4 and is much more comfortable and confident in all swimming environments. She’s had classes with many of the swim instructors, but her classes are usually scheduled with Eileen, who has been great to partner with. She enforces the learning objectives regularly with our daughter and makes the class fun for her. The manager Ryan at this site is also phenomenal- he is always enthusiastic and there to welcome students and parents, and he addresses any concerns timely and attentively. The location is clean and accommodating and we’ve had a great experience here. I would strongly recommend it to other parents looking to strengthen their child’s swimming skills!

Aqua-Tots charges us for holidays and adds a make up class which was not informed to us at the time of registration. How can we make up for so many classes, we barely have to time for our own make up class which happens after canceling our class. Also there was an accident at Leesburg recently and they closed the pool and didn’t let us know, I called so many times they didn’t even call back. I called all the offices the sterling Aquatots called me back but leesburg aquatots they didn’t even care. Please be aware about the make up classes before registration.

I’ve been taking my grandson since he was about 9 months and he’s almost 2 and I’ve seen him progress during that time. Rescheduling classes are super easy which I have to do pretty often and all coaches have been consistent. My grandson likes going there too which helps.

TL/DR: Their are several options in Leesburg/Loudoun County for kids swimming lessons. Aqua Tots is definitely NOT the one we would recommend.

Aqua Tots was fine until our second child joined and our oldest moved into solo classes (not swimming with a parent). The teacher we had for Level 3 was abrupt and dismissive of the kids fears - the teacher would ignore the kids crying or being afraid of drills and just force them into whatever position that was needed, or just dunk them underwater. Our oldest loved swimming until we transitioned into Level 3, then swimming lessons became a battle every week - to the point where our kid would break down into tears.

To make matters even worse, good luck scheduling make-up classes. Classes that are convenient for working parents are never available (always full) and you have to keep paying the monthly fee to even use your make-up classes. We ended up leaving with 30 make-up classes (thousands of dollars worth of classes that we already paid for) that they wouldn’t let us use unless we paid for another 8 classes. We tried talking to them several times to figure out how we could make up the classes that we had and their staff’s response was basically “too bad, sucks for you.” It’s sad that the relationship soured to this point, but we left with the impression that their instructors don’t really care about the kids and the staff doesn’t care at all our the families paying for their services. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere for your swim lessons.

Our grandson's teachers were wonderful. They were kind, patient, and understanding of each child's unique needs and abilities. Our Leapfrog went from being afraid of the water to jumping into the pool in a few lessons. We drove in from West Virginia for lessons. If it were not so far from us, we would continue his lessons to get him even more comfortable with the water. We highly recommend Aqua Tots - they truly care about helping little swimmers!

My son spent more than 18 months in level 5 and never promoted to next level though he finished all level 5 skills. For several months my kids repeated the same skills again and again. This happened because instructors keep changing. Will not recommend this to anyone. This facility is good for kids below 8 years. Pools can’t accommodate big kids. Their app was not showing one of my kids progress. Their tech team can’t resolve the issue for more than 3 months.

We started with Aqua Tots when our LO was 13 months old and now she is 3 and absolutely loves the pool! She is diving down to the bottom of the pool, creeping along the side of the pool all by herself, and loves all of the little songs from our mommy and me style Level 2 class. She even runs her little bath tub toys through the class every bath time. Also, part of the reason we picked Aqua Tots was because they have a great rescheduling policy. My daughter attends the Leesburg swim school. All of the coaches and staff are excellent. I really appreciate their engagement with my daughter... One staffer overheard that my daughter walking in saying that she wanted a blue lollipop... the staffer actually set one aside for her during her swim, so she could have it later. The coaches enforce pool safety as a priority. Coach Bijan is absolutely amazing with all the kids. I honestly cant say enough. He has been patient and consultative with us as our toddler learns self control and sitting safely on the pool side to wait her turn. Kudo's to the school and staff, the place is spotlessly clean, their coaches are warm and engaging with their students. I highly recommend visiting to see the school, sign up for a free introductory class... and watch your little one have the absolute best time.

There are many things that will make a toddler kick and scream, but getting to and attending swim classes at Aqua-Tots is not one of them. My 3.5 year old is currently enrolled in Level 3 classes, after taking a few months of the parent/child class when he was 2. He jumped right back into their program without a parent this go round, which I believe is a result of the foundation Aqua-Tots lays out with their curriculum, consistency, and making it fun to learn how to swim. Safety is a big concern for a parent and I've never doubted that my kid doesn't have the coach's full attention. Both the coaches and front staff are helpful and communitive. Sign your kiddo up!

Five minutes after our appointment, our child was literally fighting for her life and would have likely drown had I not pounded on the glass praying one of the 15+ instructors would save her.

We scheduled an introduction class for our 2-year old. It was a free 30-minute trial to see if it's a good fit, etc. We were 100% planning to enroll her, but figured we'd capitalize on the intro class. Her instructor called her and 2 other toddlers for their lesson. She sat them down on the stairs and immediately turned her back on 2 toddlers to focus on the other. My daughter walked forward a few steps and was now in 4 feet of water. The instructor was working with the other child and never saw this. I hesitated for a second thinking someone would surely see what had happened. I quickly realized that all instructors were distracted and I ran to the glass and started pounding on it in desperation. As I'm pounding on the glass in absolute horror, I can see my 2-year old thrashing in the water for her life. Her instructor finally noticed and brought her to the surface. This happened for about 5 - 7 seconds I'm estimating.

My wife and I didn't make a huge fuss as 1: We were absolutely terrified and shocked that this could have happened. 2: We didn't want to make a scene and scare our daughter any more than she'd been. We could see that she was shook up and composed herself until we left. My wife and I were worried to death throughout the remainder of the lesson.

We stopped by the desk as we were leaving and the kid working stated that they typically have a Deck Supervisor on hand to ensure that this doesn't happen, but they were short-staffed as a couple people had called in. So, in lieu of canceling a class, having a swim instructor act as Deck Supervisor, someone at the front desk act as Deck Supervisor, they chose to cross their fingers and hope things would work out. The result was a near drowning due to lack of instructor training and complete disregard for safety. Anyone who works with kids knows you cannot turn your back on a toddler. Especially in a pool.

The pool is behind a glass wall and parents are not allowed inside as you are to put your full trust in them to take care of your child. We gladly did so trusting it would be properly run.

24 hours later and we're still reeling from this experience. This was completely traumatizing and I am compelled to write this review in hopes parents take absolute caution in choosing to take their kids here. Aqua Tots serves one function. To teach your child water safety. Within minutes of arrival, our child is sinking underwater while her instructor is distracted with another child. This place is an accident waiting to happen. I strongly urge you to consider other options.

Original post: We generally had a good experience for my 18 month old son except for the account cancellation process. I am in my second trimester so I asked for an account hold which they do not have. Instead I had to cancel and return. We were fine with that but I confirmed with the front desk that my makeup classes were still available until the date listed on the app (typically 6 months).

After the cancellation I can’t access my account on the app so I emailed and am told that there’s only a two week grace period to use the makeup classes. Plus you have to contact them by phone every time you want to schedule.

So if you’re thinking of cancelling, try using it up prior to it. They make it very difficult to use the classes you already paid for.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! The staff is wonderful. The pool and all of the surrounding settings are absolutely spotless. Coaches Bijan and Ellie are above and beyond what you’d expect from coaches and give you real time feedback you can use. The front desk staff like Kenna are so kind and gracious always. I find this facility clean and well maintained. However, as a professional with an extremely busy schedule, I thought they were inflexible, as reflected on a recent call with Kaitlyn to schedule makeup classes. Kaitlyn rigidly explained they would not reschedule a previous and same day class (because I called shortly after the scheduled time). This policy was not or clearly stated on any signed agreement — and because of this, I would not be able to make up classes for May 11-13th. For a facility that has repeatedly canceled classes for broken pool heater (which is understandable), you would think they would be a bit more flexible this one time.

Again clean facility, but would suggest a more personable & professional customer experience, and upfront clarification of terms/conditions.

Our daughter has enjoyed Aqua-Tots Swim School in Leesburg, VA a great deal. The instructors are patient and caring, and work on the key techniques / skills that kids need to learn to swim. Every class starts with the instructor taking a small group of swimmers to their section of the pool. The pool and water is warm. During the class, the instructor spends time with each child and focuses on different techniques. Since the classes are small (3 or 4 kids max), our daughter gets a lot of attention. (Note: Aqua-Tots also has individualized sessions if you have a couple of kids.) After the class is over, the instructor walks them to meet the parents. My wife and I are really impressed with the knowledge the instructors have - they tell us how she did and what skills our daughter needs to focus on. Aqua-Tots also has an app that we use to see the progress our daughter is making, as well as manage and schedule our classes. On days when our daughter does not have school, its easy to get classes scheduled so she can get more swim lessons. Overall, we LOVE Aqua-Tots. The open glass and comfortable seats allow us to watch everything going on. The classes are affordable and our daughter loves the experience. Plus... she is learning how to swim, which is so important. We highly recommend Aqua-Tots in Leesburg, VA.

We have two children enrolled on Friday Evenings. We absolutely love the program. The poll and facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and the instructors are fantastic. Highly recommend this program.

The facility is clean and nice, but we had our 4 year old there for 3 months and had 7 different instructors. For a shy kid, this was not conducive to any progress being made.

Friendly staff (both at the desk and the swim instructors). The facility is always so clean! The class is fun for my little guy. It’s just an overall enjoyable experience! We get so excited for Saturday's to roll around for swim class! Our son grew comfortable with being in the water and going underwater pretty quickly! We love that he is learning to be safe in the water, and is picking up the safety skills at a fast pace!

Great swim school for the kiddos! Friendly staff and huge seating and dressing areas make this one of the best swim schools in the area. Instructors are decent and the pool is large. Sections of the pool are smaller for the younger classes... we'll see if they open up for true lap swimming when the kids advance thru the levels. Plan to be a customer here for a long while as nothing has made us second guess our choice for solid water survival lessons ;)

I’ve not been happy with my son’s experience here at all. Multiple classes have been cancelled and progress is slowed down if your kiddo uses another instructor other than their usual one. The facility is clean and new. Only complaint is with overall Program.

We love Aqua tots Leesburg! We started taking my daughter there when she was 10-months old and there has been such an improvement in her level of comfort being in the water. I couldn't be happier! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is nice and clean, and the pool temp is perfect for the little ones. Would highly recommend!

Coach Meghan is awesome with my 2 three year olds! They both have progressed a lot in the month and a half we’ve been with her! The front desk staff is always kind and smiling too! The leesburg aqua tots is super clean and dry and it seems like all needs are anticipated (hair dryers, tissues, lots of changing rooms, etc). There’s plenty of dove for parents to watch their kiddos too. Thank you!

The staff is super kind and patient, you can tell they actually love children and really do everything they can to make swimming a fun experience, while also teaching swimming. They try to meet each child where they are and those that are afraid they will really work with, it’s truly amazing to watch!! The front desk and Coach Kevin are especially amazing!!!

The instructors are just fabulous. Even in group classes each child is given personalized attention that carries from lesson to lesson. Our little men have gone from nervous, timid participants to confident, excited little swimmers. It's worth every dollar for the peace of mind it brings surrounding water safety.

The front desk staff is always cordial, welcoming, and helpful from the moment you walk in. The instructors are engaging and effective with the kids and truly establish a warm and safe learning environment. I appreciate the opportunity to touch base one-on-one with the instructor after every class. The facility is absolutely awesome - super clean with plenty of amenities to assist with transitions to and from class. We have loved our experience with Aqua-Tots in Leesburg!

We’ve been doing aqua tots for about a month now and can’t recommend it enough. We LOVE it. Currently doing lessons for my 17-month-old and she’s come such a long way already! So much more comfortable in the water. Great program and great facility! Everything always looks clean, great management, knowledgeable instructors, and overall just a great place. Definitely recommend!
