I have been training with Brandon Mickens at BDM Conditioning for going on 7 years, and my husband has joined me for most of that time period. Brandon is exceptional, which is why we travel over one hour round-trip to train with him twice a week. Brandon is extremely knowledgeable in his field – what he does is not just a business, but a passion. He constantly continues to educate himself on new developments in exercise science, nutrition, psychological motivation, and other areas related to his field. He puts a great deal of thought into each personalized training session, always careful to take into account whether his clients have any injuries that would require a last-minute modification. He has a great depth of experience, including his own time as a professional kickboxer, and training professional and student athletes. Anyone of any age and fitness level will find a great deal of value in working with Brandon. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I don’t have my journal in front of me, but I think I’ve been going to Brandon at BDM Conditioning for about 3-4 years now and I feel absolutely supported and respected in my strength building journey. I could barely press 3lbs per side over my head when I first started and now I can press 95lbs (with personal injuries or illnesses from outside the facility along the way). Could I do a push up? Nope. Now I can do more than 10 with 35lbs on my back!!!
Brandon listens to any concerns or fears with gentle, but firm, rationale. You are held accountable for keeping notes (which I love because I’m a forgetful one) and you set goals for the year! Don’t worry, you can change them up too if you build up faster or slower than you thought.
Before working with Brandon, I didn’t know how to listen to my body’s limits or subtle signs before giving out, nor have I worked with a trainer who also considered my physical ailments. There is a generalized schedule you follow for weeks that slowly builds up, but he will alter them to your personal needs if need be. “Modify. Don’t miss” is a phrase I’ve taken away and applied into my daily life when things seem to not go right on a given day or week.
I have met a work out buddy that he schedules our work out time together and honestly…. The best part of my week. Seriously, A MAJOR HIGHLIGHT!! I know we are going to work out butts off and be exhausted but we never hurt, and it’s super fun! My week is in shambles when I’m not able to come in that week.
I highly recommend BDM Conditioning for anyone wanting to take their strength journey to the next level and within a schedule that works for you. You want to build? YES. Wanna box? ABSOLUTELY. Never in a million years did I ever think I would box, but you’re never thrown into anything you’re not ready for.

I have been going to Brandon for 6 months now and have no plans of quitting anytime soon. I've been defeated for so long with my body after having children, but I'm finally feeling stronger than ever. Brandon is patient, empowering, understanding, and motivating. He's not there to tear you down, but rather build you up. Highly recommend to anyone debating, this is your sign to start! He will get you to your goals.

My best workout experience. Brandon is super professional and thorough. He keeps a clear log of my conditioning and while he challenges me, it's always with positivity. He checks in on me personally too.
Brandon both coaches me in strength (weights) as well as boxing, something I had no prior experience but wanted to learn. He is patient and his method is helpful. I have consistently seen results.

Brandon is the best Muay Thai coach I have ever had! He gives great instruction, cuing and knows how to get the best out of me. Our sessions are educational, fun and intense. I've worked with Brandon for a couple years now, being my strength and conditioning coach as well as a striking coach. I have competed in Kickboxing and Muay Thai for about eight years and through his guidance I have significantly improved my striking technique (especially Boxing), footwork, head movement, and understanding of biomechanics; athletically, it is like I am a completely different man! It is a unique combination in coaching where someone can combine world class experience and knowledge in combat sports with an equally deep understanding of how the human body works and how to best build an athlete. I've seen him work with clients from soccer moms to professional sportsmen, and he's always able to tailor the programs perfectly. Best in the game!
