I've trained in a lot of places, but BFT Tysons has something different. The coaching here is intentional -- every cue, every correction -- it matters. They pay attention, they teach, and they don't let you hide behind half-effort. The group classes have a rhythm that pushes you without making it competitive. The environment is supportive, but not soft. The progress I'm seeing isn't just physical - it's mental, too.

From CrossFit gyms to home gyms to personal trainers to online trainers and Big Box gyms. I've tried everything. Only BFT Tysons was able to get me into the best shape of my life where I could compete in the Washington DC Hyrox. The facilities are fantastic. The coaches are amazing. They understand nutrition, proper form, technique, and mindset to deliver actual results. Lastly, the community is second to none. The people that go to BFT Tysons are motivated. They're of all levels, but most of all, they're all there to grow there and prioritize longevity.

I’ve lived in area for a few years and I have tried out multiple workout programs (OT, Burn, Rumble etc) and I’ve finally found my “home” gym! The trainers are fantastic and the community is so supportive. I worry about injury a lot and the trainers really watch form and provide feedback tailored to my specific needs. Highly recommend!

BFT Tysons is the only choice in Northern Virginia if you're looking to impact all areas of your fitness. Pav has built an amazing team of coaches who are fully engaged in each class. Regardless of class size you can expect 1:1 instruction and motivation along with a killer workout. The best part about BFT (outside the coaches) and what separates it from other gyms in the area is the emphasis on strength building, not just HIIT. Just show up and you'll feel great, improve your fitness, and learn a lot along the way.

Didn’t join the gym, but overall a bad experience. Lesson for me is to always directly contact for pricing when its not mentioned on the website and never just make any payments based on offers, even if the payment didn’t actually go through and you are not billed.

Phenomenal gym experience. I joined only to train for the hyrox race, but blown away by the experience so far. The instructors- Mike, Demi and others go above and beyond to help you out- they fix your form and give helpful suggestions on the specific workouts.
It is like orange theory but with more strength exercises. There's a lot of other differences - mostly explained on their website.
Bottom line- clean gym with parking included, great support with trainers and staff, and awesome workouts!

Fantastic experience here. I belong to another studio and was in town for work and didn’t want to miss a workout. They were able to get me in easily (thank you Pav and Mary). Everyone was friendly, the studio is immaculate, and Daisuke was awesome and kept encouraging me to keep going during the tough Cardio U class. Excellent studio with group fitness classes! I love BFT and joined 5 months ago and really see/feel a difference. I'm much stronger and leaner. It's similar to Orange Theory with different heart zones for interval training.

The fitness classes are cardio and strength based with a few subcategories. I prefer the Cardio classes "Cardio SummIt", "Cardio U", "Crew Fit", and "Beast Mode". While the exercises are similar in these classes, there's a slight variation of exercises and interval training times.

The gym doesn't currently offer Pilates or much exercises to strengthen the core. They are expanding their class menu, and I see a Pilates or Yoga class offered every now and then.

I love the new equipment and provides a range of motion with S drive Treadmill, Ionic bike for arms/legs, Skier, Rower, along with battle ropes and a small turf for running.

The personal trainers are helpful and diligent. Shout-out to Michael, Tiffany, and Theresa, who are my favorite and provide helpful corrections.

The fitness classes are pretty small with a dozen or so people in each class with a couple of personal trainers.

The BFT monitors are worth it! I was skeptical of the gimmicky monitors as my heart rate is usually lower than the average person, but it works well and it's a 1 time cost.

What I love the most about the gym - there are no-frills or gimmicks. You can easily cancel a month before the next billing cycle and the monthly price tiered pricing based on credits is very reasonable. The rates don't fluctuate and the monitor is a 1 cost.

"Pav" Pavan, the owner, is a nice, humble guy. He used to work at Capital One and truly has tapped into corporate experience to foster an empowering, community environment.

Everyone is super friendly and pretty fit, and the studio doesn't have that snooty competitiveness that other gyms have.

BFT also sponsors a 5K that I ran and there are fun weekly events before/after class.

So glad to be a member and recommend trying out a class!

I joined as a member two months ago and absolutely love it! The coaches are very knowledgeable and involved during every workout. If you need help they are always right there to ask questions. They make me feel like they actually care about me! It’s hard to find that at other gyms. The workouts are challenging and I feel like I gained something after every workout. Thanks to all the coaches there that have helped me feel more confident. So glad I found this gym so close to me! Highly recommend!

I highly praise BFT and would recommend it to anyone. I’ve been going for a few weeks now, and I enjoy the atmosphere and workouts. I was returning to working out and to fitness, and BFT made the transition very smooth. All the trainers, those who work in the front, and the general manager Hannah are super friendly, down to earth, non-judgmental, and invested in you. The workouts are never overly crowded, and you get enough personalized attention to make sure you know what to do and your form is correct — which is a huge advantage compared to Orangetheory. There are ample breaks in between which helps you be prepared for every set. And the workouts are more varied which is also an advantage over Orangetheory. Although I don’t leave sweating heavily from BFT strength workouts compared to other classes/programs, I definitely leave more energized and feeling I’ve worked many muscles. Lastly, the people who show up to the BFT workouts are all down to earth and kind as well, and it’s nice to see people in all stages of their fitness journey. For those thinking of starting or resuming their fitness journey, I highly recommend joining BFT’s studio for friendly, diverse, and challenging but not so difficult workouts.

BFT Tyson’s is one of a kind group training strength class! Their programming is very well done! Despite Going on average 4-5x/ week the classes stress your body in different ways that I don’t feel over worked ( this includes- cardio classes , strength, and combo classes). They have an awesome group of trainers, great staff and owners, beautiful facility with barbells, trapbar, and heavy weights for a true strength training expirence.
The thing that stood out to me the most was the rotating schedule of classes. For example if you only can make it on Monday and Wednesday you will be exposed to different class types each week! This is as a huge downfall with the other fitness studios that BFT addressed 😄.

The BEST strength training facility hands down! This community provides motivation, accountability, and a sense of belonging that goes beyond what you can find in a typical gym setting. As a long-time member of Orange Theory Fitness (OTF), I recently found myself seeking a change in my workout routine. My initial experience with BFT has been fantastic. One of the standout features of BFT is the significant variety in workouts. Unlike Orange Theory, which primarily revolves around three stations (Treadmill, Rowing, and Floor exercises), BFT offers a much larger range of equipment and body movements. This variety not only keeps each session interesting but also ensures a comprehensive workout that engages different muscle groups putting less strain on certain joints (like my knees).

Initially, the cost difference between BFT and Orange Theory was a concern. However, after experiencing the classes first-hand, I believe the price is justified. Although I still attend OTF twice a week due to its proximity to my house, I would switch to BFT full time if it were closer (but I still plan to plan to go to BFT 1 – 2 times a week). For anyone looking to break free from the monotony of routine workouts and see tangible fitness improvements, BFT is undoubtedly worth considering. BFT has been an excellent additional to my fitness journey.

BFT workouts are legitimately hard, yet accessible to everyone. Lots of weights but if weight lifting intimidates you, don’t let it. The class formats, facilities at this studio, and trainers all make it fun and non-intimidating. The variety and sequencing of the classes keep it fresh, but I’m more impressed with how you can workout every day (or close to it) without burning out. The staff is great. Trainers are fun but also serious—and once they get to know you and your personality and limitations they will push you (in a good way). Studio is beautiful and fun to workout in. I’ve been going for about a month now. I encourage you to check it out. Try a few classes. Soon you’ll be addicted.

This studio hasn't yet opened, but I have to say I have been incredibly impressed by how the owner runs this place. Totally transparent, no gimmicks, real integrity. I signed up for the founders rate and had to cancel because it ended up being too far for me. The owner was so nice and immediately refunded my money and said I was welcome to take a free class once they open. Compared to other gyms and studios around, this level or customer service is a class above. I am excited to see this place take off. The training model sounds incredible and it's nice to know they have enough coaches in each class to really correct form and help you reach your goals!
