Very poor customer service. With the whole government shutdown and with kids , you would think they would be more understanding. They seem to be only interested in taking your money

Absolutely love it here but I wish the adult open gym started on time. Itβs frustrating having to pay $25 when you donβt get the full time. Itβs supposed to start no later than 9 but lately it is closer to 9:45 and then you have to leave exactly on time

We recently transferred from a competing gym and cannot say enough about Capital NTC.
I honestly donβt know where the negative comments are coming from or where the 100βs of missing 5 star reviews are atβ¦theyβre consistent top 1% record speaks above all else.
My daughter (lvl 7) needed coaches who would push her to limits she didnβt seem possible, she needed coaches who didnβt tell her she is a disappointment (last gym did), and a gym that actually does gymnastics and isnβt a beautified, very expensive, after school child care center when parents are paying a car payment monthly and devoting 20+ hrs/week to.
I drive 4 hrs round trip, 5x/week for this gymnastics center, so I 100% vouch for them.
If you want your child to not only succeed, but succeed on a national levelβ¦then come to Capital NTC. We cannot wait to see what the next few years will bring! #OlympicHopeful

Zero customer service or even basic courtesy by owner and the incredibly rude woman (clearly known to most reviewers). Fascinated that a company so driven by profit is unwilling to fire her despite obviously driving paying customers away. If you want to be gaslit every time you interact with the front office while suffering through the absolutely disgusting condition of the gym (filthy bathrooms and whole place smells like dirty feet) then this is your place. Otherwise, find a different gym. You donβt need this place (despite the fact they think you do!)
Coaches have all been fine. The only star in this rating is for them.

The attitude of the parents in the drop off & pickup line matches that of the gym overall: rude, unhelpful and impolite. The parking lot is full of ditches, pot holes and spots are not clearly marked. The gym is nice and clean but the overall experience isn't great.

One of the premiere "core" gymnastics places in the area. Many of the coaches are great, some are not. Choose carefully. My daughter was excelling until a bad experience with one of the coaches (she was 6).

Very expensive for no reason. They are also disorganized and rude. My little sister attended classes weekly for 2 years and they never leveled her up, I wondered why and she told me they never gave her at home workouts and they also did the same thing every single class. When I asked her how she felt about her class she told me she was "bored". I started looking into other gyms so I didn't sign her up for the next session. I got a phone call from the gyms reception asking for payment even though I had not signed her up. The last class she attended she was only evaluated for Beam and Bars, she had not yet been evaluated for floor or vault. When I asked for her review they said that she was not able to be evaluated because she technically was no longer in the class because a new session had started. They were very rude about the whole thing, while I was trying to get an explanation from one receptionist another would shout from across the office to basically tell me I was wrong.
All they want is money and they don't really care about their students progress.

Great coaching staff and nice facility. My kids love the rec classes and absolutely loved the summer camp. What could make the experience better? No one ever...EVER answers the phone. When you leave a message, no one ever calls back. Twice I've had to stop in just to ask questions because i can't get anyone on the phone. If you're in a rec class, you can do "make up" classes (which I appreciate), but they are only offered late in the evenings (7 & 8 PM - tricky for young kids) or middle of the afternoon on Saturday. They fill up fast and in my experiences, we've had to wait 3-4 weeks to get a spot that worked. Lastly, technology - holy cow, the paper forms and an hour in line to register is a bit much. Still giving a 4 because it's a great gym - but the back end of the house could use a bit of modernization.

Great gym for all ages including professional gymnasts or brand new amateurs. It is expansive and has a great gymnastics and cheer team programs. The front office is very nice especially when I have seen many parents be over demanding, yet the front office staff remain professional and keep their cool. Great atmosphere!

I was not happy with this place at all.. I was lied to over and over again for my daughter who was on pre-team. She some how LOST skills she had back in October. Finally had enough of the "oh she just needs 1 more skill and shell be level 3".. kept getting told that for about a year now. She tried out at another gym for level 3. She made the team on the spot.

Very poor / unhealth/ smelly facility for children. Over crowded facility coupled with distracted, uncaring teachers creates an unsafe environment. I didn't like our experience there at all ! The administration staff is not friendly and for me it's clear that they want only your money (I am talking about recreational, I don't have experience about the teams) . The coaches are not all good . POOR MANAGEMENT! DIRTY UNHEALTHY FACILITY! NOT PROFESSIONAL!

Both my children attended this Gym last year and I'm trying to decide if we should return. I agree, coaches are wonderful. The woman in the front office is less than helpful and definitely not friendly. I've tried to "win" her over, kill her with kindness to no avail. Again, my kids love this place b/c of the coaches however, since this is a paid service I feel like we should be getting great lessons as well as good service. If the front office was more helpful I'd give this place 4.5 stars! I'd never recommend it to a friend b/c of the lack of help on the front end.

Is a great gym place and their focus is on actual gymnastics. Customer service can improve a little with better use of technology and friendlier and more available staff. I like the coaches! Wish their cheer practices had better "working family" friendly hours.

After reading all the comments I definitely agree with the office lady so mean & rude. They never pick up the phone, they always busy. We use to go Chantilly Academy of Gymnastic but they don't have Saturday class so we are new to this gym. I hope my daughter like her coach. Let see!

I love going there, the coaches encourage you to do your best. They are so nice and helpful but the office lady's are not as helpful, They are sarcastic and make you feel dumb they also ignore you and don't let you talk to them without them rolling their eyes at you. overall it's an amazing gym but the office not as nice or helpful so I give it a 4.

I often feel discriminated by the office lady. She has this ugly smile every time I come to the office to ask for something and make me feel so stupid. I get nervous and even when I know I have a very good English I have a very strong accent which I think it's what cause her that funny expression in her face. She's rude and sarcastic. I have two girls there and they both enjoy their class that's why I'm still trying to handle it, the behavior runs not only with the office staff k had a few bad experiences with my granddaughter couch as well who had the same exact attitude.

Very very poor customer service in front desk, they are so mean . My daughter can't eat & sleep last two nights because of wrong behavior of lady on front desk . She loves gymnastic but after this situation she changed her mind & for first time i heard from my 5 years old daughter said I hate someone.
Really sorry for that old lady in front desk

Coaches are fine. Problem lies with office staff and their lack of concern for customers. In particular, the lady who is often at the desk who seems to be in her fifties.
My daughter missed a class for medical reasons so we were able to reschedule. I took my daughter for the first time, so I went to office to ask where we go. The office lady was talking with another employee and would not even look my way. I went out and looked for someone but all coaches were with their classes, so I went back to office. I asked the lady and she rolled her eyes and made a gesture as she said "if her name is on the class list she is there." I just stared as I could not believe the attitude. My daughter told me she knew where to go, so we walked to waiting area. Did not see anyone or what group she belonged with, so I went back a third time to the office. There were some instuctors in at that time so I asked them where my daughter should go and it would be great if someone here could help us. My irritation was obvious. A young instructor then walked us out to show my daughter where to go.
Again, the instructors seem nice enough as well as focused on the students, but the stuck-up office staff that acts if you are annoying them is very hard to stomach...

Poor customer service, unprofessional. Unfortunately, this gym doesn't care about serving its customers. They treat you as annoyance when you ask questions and make it very hard to make up classes(even though they claim it is one of their perks) Once I was told by the staff that I hadn't paid and had to come up with proof. It was easy to come up with a copy of my check but there was no apology on their part. (they cashed my check but didn't care to record whether I paid for 8 or 12 week session) They still don't accept credit card payments. Gym is very crowded in the late afternoon/evening. A nightmare if you have to bring another child to wait with you or don't like sitting cheek to cheek with a stranger. The gym doesn't have enough convenient parking. We like their coaching style and the homeschooling group but will not be returning after this session because of too much frustration caused by the above issues.

So this is something I don't ordinarily do. However, I wanted to be sure that others were fully aware of things that they may encounter should they choose to go to Capitol Gymnastics .
We sign my daughter up with private lessons with instructor BR. He was very responsive to our needs and got us in rather the quickly.
I informed him that my daughter (6)had a little bit of experience already with acro movements and I wanted to bring she and have her sister also come as a trial her sister is only for 4.
He told me that they were a different level so he would have my oldest daughter take her lesson first and then the little daughter will come immediately after her each one hour so his message was two hours for $90 .
He concluded the lesson at a hour and a half later. I wasn't sure why he took both of them at the same time when he clearly said he have to do one for one hour and then the other and hour later.
When I ask him about it he totally lost it and became very offensive. I explained to him that I was not trying to be difficult referred back to the email message that he sent to me and told him what he had communicated to me was miscommunicated instead of owning up to it he said that I misunderstood . There goes the customers right.... When I clearly had black-and-white what he type to me in the email.
This instructor was great with my daughter he had her doing things within an hours time that were absolutely wonderful and I think she felt very comfortable with him.
Instead of just saying ma'am I made a mistake I really meant to say...but he decided that he would tell me that I misunderstood. If he had only simply just done that and apologize I've been happy to continue working relationship there . Instead he dismissed himself and said that I should get another instructor.
Tell him it was too bad. It was cool that he dismisses himself. I'm not willing to pay for anything myself and not get what I was promised.
Good luck if you get instructor BR he will never admit his wrong.

Yes, it it busy, just like a great restaurant. We wouldn't go there if it was half empty. It's loud at times because coaches have to be heard by the students. If your preference is meek whispering coaches, train elsewhere. The classes are full because the coaches are fantastic. They have inspired my daughter to accomplish more in her short time here than we thought possible. The coaches push, because they know the greatness that comes with hard practice and conditioning, in both cheer and gymnastics. They are also the most compassionate and caring coaches, with the utmost concern for our children's safety and health. Yes there are a few things we would like improved, but what's most important, the training on the matts and apparatus, is where Capital Gymnastics excels. I give 4.5 stars.

There are big problems here. Nobody answers emails, or voicemails. Everything from registration to payment is incredibly antiquated (nothing can be done online, they don't even have in-office credit card payments), which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't also disorganized and massively time consuming. They keep expanding their business - a testament to the quality of instruction - but they have invested ZERO in their administration of accounts, schedules, registration process, customer service - you get the idea.
Please don't misunderstand, I love the people at Capital Gymnastics. I love the coaches, and the office staff try their very best. And the quality of the classes is excellent. But after 5 years of dealing with their frustrating and extraordinarily time-consuming administrative snafus, I will sadly be looking for other recreational classes for my kids.
If you are going to bring your kids here, I give it 5 stars for the classes. Really first-rate. But be warned: you will be spending hours, and I do mean HOURS, wading through the registration process, waiting for email responses that do not come, waiting for offices hours (only late afternoons, and there WILL be a line of parents ahead of you), on hold or redialing their number trying to reach a human - well, you get the idea. The owners really, really need to deal with this issue. But if the last 5 years are any indication, they just don't care.
EDITED TO ADD/CORRECT/SUGGEST: I should have been more accurate about who DOES answer voicemails: the coaches do, in fact, respond to voicemails. Also: I realize that my most recent email was sent during Easter break, and that probably, nobody was reading them. But why, a week later, have I still not heard back from anyone? And if nobody reads them during breaks, why not set up a simple, automated vacation response letting people KNOW that nobody is reading them?
For that matter, why have email at all if nobody responds, automatically or otherwise? And if you're only going to accept checks, and the building is locked up during the day and on holidays and breaks, why not have a secure drop box outside the building so you can make a payment when people aren't in the actual office? These are some simply things that could improve customer service a little bit, without overhauling the entire administrative process.

ALTHOUGH I MAKE SOME VERY NEGATIVE COMMENTS BELOW, DO NOT IGNORE THE POSITIVES I SAY FIRST THAT MAKE IT A GREAT GYM. My daughter is 6 in level 1-2. It seems at this level the kids have fun and get to try all the different stuff out but there doesn't seem t be much discipline which I thought was a huge part of gymnastics. I could be wrong...I'm new to the sport. All instructors I see for lower levels seem great and make sure kids learn and have fun.I guess the "toughness" is saved for the much more advanced students. I do not see them and their coaches as much (my daughter has class at an odd day and time so maybe that's why) even though I'm sure they're there most days. From what I hear its a very successful gym -nationals, Olympics, etc. The problem I have with them, AND THIS IS A BIG PROBLM, is the office team. I don't know if the various people that work in the office are also owners (that's makes a difference) or not. There are 2 main women I see most of the time. One just wants to get out of there. The other women is extremely, lets use the word "grouchy". Luckily I only have to see here once every 8 weeks to drop off my check. The thing that bothers me most about her is that on top of being grouchy, she talks to other people like they're idiots. Especially people that don't know a lot about gymnastics and how their gym is run. When she answered my questions (trust me you have a lot when you're new) she mumbled very quickly while doing other things - never once looking at me.I've talked to mothers that have taken their kids to Cardinal Gymnastics simply because of lack of someone to talk to during the day, and the poor phone etiquette and help.

Capital Gymnastics is a great training facility and the coaches are great!. The office staff is horrible and the most rudest people ever. I had a horrible experience with one of the receptionist who insisted on being right.....I guess that's what happens when a business doesn't "need" one customer's money. Thank goodness for my daughter's love for the coaches and gymnastics. Otherwise, I would take my business elsewhere. If you're considering signing up or signing your child up, don't go there expecting the best and the brightest business people in the office.
