I’ve been an unlimited member at this Norfolk Club Pilates location for about a month, and honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’ve completed over 500 classes across the Club Pilates brand, and unfortunately, this has been my least favorite location so far.

This studio enforces several policies that hinder more experienced members. For example, you’re not allowed to do modifications in a Level 1.5 class—such as feet on the foot bar for planking—even if you’ve been cleared for Level 2 skills. You also aren’t allowed to screw in your own jump board for cardio sculpt classes. I believe it’s important to educate members on how and why to properly use the reformer so that everyone can be safe and confident, rather than restricting capable members from using skills they’ve already demonstrated.

While most of the instructors are good, I find that some lack experience, can be a bit abrupt, and aren’t very open-minded. Personally, I come to Pilates to combine physical fitness with mindfulness, but I sometimes leave feeling micromanaged instead.

This location has potential, but it definitely has work to do to be more in line with the supportive, flexible standards I’ve come to expect from Club Pilates nationwide.

Shannon practices Pilates with a wonderful balance of knowledge, experience, inspiration, and force. She knows how to conduct a class that is both demanding and empowering, but she uses her disarming sense of humor and gentle kindness to make you work hard without realizing how hard you’re working. You always come away from the session feeling stronger, more flexible, and better at Pilates than you were before. I always look forward to classes with Shannon, and I like how she asks for feedback to pick the apparatus of the week which she incorporates into an innovative and creative flow.

Control 1.5 with Pam had me shaking and quaking like a baby giraffe trying to stand up for the first time. I got a great workout in and I know my leggings did, too, as we pushed our squat limits to the next level. I might have been silently cursing Pam while her countdown from 8 actually lasted a hundred years, but her energy and encouragement had me smiling and bouncing my way out of class. 12/10 and WILL BE BACK FOR MORE CONTROL WITH PAM!

i loved sophia’s sculpt 1.5 class!
her sequences are spot on. the class is a mixture of ages, body types, and skill sets. her sequences offer options for the various levels. her feedback, thruout the class, ensures accurate form and optional success. and, the world and contemporary music pulls them altogether…making the challenging workout flow effortlessly! club pilates has become a welcomed addition to the african dance classes i teach! ✨🌟✨

Pam is the reason I have found success, strength, and happiness in practicing Pilates. I have taken hundreds of classes with Pam and no class is ever the same—different levels, different features, different exercises—but I always leave class with the same feeling of being challenged and making progress every step of the way. She takes the time to get to know everyone’s name and works on building a relationship with her clients. She does this because she is a great teacher who modifies and adapts to all levels and all abilities. She is not just doing her job, she is on a mission. It is clear that mission is personal because her joy and enthusiasm come from a place of experience and passion. She teaches with the mindset that Pilates is for every body at every fitness level. Yes club Pilates in Norfolk I am a member. When I take my classes which are twice a week I experience the absolute best instructors, Ann, Maya, Pam to name just a few but all are wonderful. I do appreciate Ann a lot because she has experience and pilates and yoga and she makes the classes interesting, fun, and challenging. Joining club Pilates Norfolk was one of the best things I have done for myself in a very long time.

Ann is an amazing instructor who always changes up the routine to keep it interesting and challenging—she really brings it!! I particularly appreciate her emphasis on the application of the moves to improving our daily lives. She pays attention to everyone to ensure that we get what she is going for, and helps modify the moves for those who have different issues (i.e., pregnancy, back issues, etc.). Club Pilates Norfolk Changed My Life

I joined Club Pilates Norfolk not really knowing what to expect — I just wanted to feel stronger and move better. What I found was so much more than a workout. This studio has completely transformed the way I connect with my body, and it’s become such an important part of my daily routine.

The instructors are beyond incredible. They’re knowledgeable, encouraging, and so attentive to each person in class. They remember your name, your injuries, your goals — and they truly care. They meet you where you’re at, and somehow always know when to push you just the right amount. I’ve learned so much about movement, breath, control, and how strong I actually am.

One of the biggest benefits for me is how much Pilates has helped with my weight training at the gym. My core is stronger, my form is better, and I have way more body awareness. It’s improved my lifts, reduced my risk of injury, and given me a whole new level of control and strength. I can feel the difference in everything from squats to deadlifts.

I also can’t say enough about the community. It’s such a welcoming, down-to-earth space with people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. It never feels intimidating — it just feels supportive. We’re all there to better ourselves, and that energy is contagious.

I especially love the Flow 2 classes — they’re the perfect balance of challenge, creativity, and control. The sequences feel fluid and intentional, and I always leave feeling stronger, more connected, and totally recharged. It’s my favorite part of the week!

Every class is different, and the programming targets everything from strength and stability to flexibility and cardio. The variety keeps it interesting, and I always leave feeling challenged but accomplished. The studio is clean, the equipment is well-maintained, and there are tons of class times to fit around a busy schedule.

Since joining, I’ve noticed major changes: better posture, more core strength, less pain, more energy — and honestly, a boost in confidence. Pilates has become something I look forward to instead of something I feel like I “have” to do. It’s time I get to reconnect with myself, and that’s been such a gift.

If you're thinking about trying Pilates — do it. Club Pilates Norfolk is more than just a studio. It's a place that lifts you up, challenges you, and makes you feel like you belong.

i really enjoyed the classes at club pilates—great workouts and a great atmosphere! however, the cancellation process has been a nightmare. i’ve tried to cancel my membership three times, and each time, i’ve been given different requirements. first, i was told i needed 14 days' notice, then 30 days' notice, and then that i had to submit my request via email. despite following their instructions, i’m still being charged.

i would absolutely recommend the classes, but i strongly advise against putting your card on autopay unless you’re prepared for a frustrating experience when trying to cancel.

Club Pilates offers a variety of Pilates classes for all skill levels (Cardio sculpt is my favorite). If there is something I can’t do, no problem I just modify! The teachers are friendly, helpful, and non-judgmental if you need to modify an exercise. Pilates is great for all ages which you will see when you attend a class! The studio itself is very clean, bathrooms are immaculate, and there is plenty of parking. The phone app to sign up for classes is convenient. Pilates is a great workout that has made a noticeable difference in my flexibility and overall body. They offer a free introductory class, so come check it out! Oh and if you join, I recommend the unlimited package because Pilates is addictive!

This is by far my favorite location in the Hampton Roads. Many of the other locations are a rip off, considering their policies that limit how many bookings you can have in a day. Paying for a Passport membership which is pretty costly, it is a disgrace that FOUR of the local studios in the area don’t let you book more than one class a day. Every instructor here is so sweet and informative, definitely the best studio to be a part of.

I have never loved to exercise, especially in a public setting. I usually do yoga or Pilates videos at home and play tennis recreationally. As I have gotten older I realize I need to slow down and really focus on strengthening my muscles and take time to stretch and restore as well. After taking two classes here I am very happy to say that I loved them. The instructors and front office staff were so helpful and kind. It was such a calm and nice setting to exercise. I enjoyed being part of a group and learning together. I was a little intimidated by the reformer machines at first so I suggest signing up for an intro class. Then learn about what each type of class offers before committing to them because some classes are very challenging and may not be right for you.

Management and studio instructors not aware or aligned with health conditions restrictions of the classes.
Instructor informed I should not attend certain classes, manager Mary insisted that I could and should not cancel my membership. They got 3 months of my money neglecting my healthy of behalf of membership fees.

Not recommend dealing with the kind of professional that put customer at risk to reach their sales goals.

Do not trust Mary the manager, she will lie to keep customers at any cost.
