Disappointing Experience at Clarendon Location
I've had positive experiences at other CorePower locations, but my visit today at the Clarendon studio was extremely disappointing. I came in for a drop-in class and was told there was a balance from an unauthorized membership supposedly created in April 2024 that I never signed up for.
When I requested documentation proving my consent, the staff member refused to provide it and instead argued with me, used inappropriate language, and made offensive comments. His behavior was unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
I'm hoping management addresses both the unauthorized account charges and the staff conduct issues. Other locations like Merrifield have always provided excellent, professional service - this was a stark contrast.
Currently working with corporate to resolve these issues.

Subject: Feedback on Music Selection – CorePower Yoga Clarendon
Dear CorePower Yoga Clarendon Team,
As a current member and someone deeply committed to the practice of yoga, I want to share a concern that has been affecting my overall experience in class.
Yoga is fundamentally a journey inward — a space to quiet the mind, calm the senses, and reconnect with the present moment. However, I’ve noticed that some instructors play music that feels at odds with this purpose. In particular, songs with prominent lyrics or jarring, inharmonic tones can disrupt the focus and peaceful atmosphere that the practice naturally cultivates.
While music can be a powerful support to the flow, I believe it should enhance the inner stillness we seek rather than pull us outward. Calm, ambient, or instrumental music tends to align more closely with the intention of yoga. Lyrics — especially those with emotional or energetic charge — often do the opposite, creating unnecessary distraction.
This feedback is shared with deep respect for the instructors and the CorePower community. I truly value the space you provide, and I offer this input in the spirit of helping preserve the integrity and depth of the practice.
Warm regards,
Juan Diossa -Member

Such a great place for an afternoon sweat! I love taking Emily’s class on Sunday afternoons. She is tough in the best way. I always feel so energized and accomplished at the end of her classes, and she has this electric energy that keeps me motivated even when I’m ready to throw in the towel. Thanks Emily!

Terrible Experience at CorePower Yoga Clarendon
I had an extremely disappointing experience at CorePower Yoga in Clarendon. My sister gifted me a gift card for my birthday, and I finally had time to use it on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. When I arrived at 5:10 PM, the two front desk staff did not know how to redeem it and instead of admitting it or finding help, they seemed irritated and unhelpful. One of them kept changing her answer, and I ended up wasting nearly an hour just trying to redeem my gift card. In the end, I was sent home with no resolution and given an unclear manager schedule.
On Wednesday morning, my sister—who purchased the gift card—asked about the issue, and the staff assured her everything was fine. She even left the physical gift card under my name for me to pick up. However, when I returned that evening, I was met with more dismissiveness. The teacher, B, insisted on checking their system instead of simply handing me the physical card. When I explained, she became visibly annoyed and ignored me. Another front desk employee reluctantly tried to help, but in the end, I never got my gift card back.
Beyond the poor customer service and lack of basic training, I felt discriminated against. Every white, middle-aged customer was greeted warmly, while I was ignored and dismissed from the moment I walked in.
This location lacks professionalism and inclusivity. If you’re not a white, middle-aged woman, don’t expect helpful service. I would never recommend this place—they seem more interested in tracking attendance than actually assisting customers.

Review of CSX - CorePower Strength X (Upper Body) at the Clarendon Studio (1929 Clarendon Boulevard)
I attended the CSX class at the CorePower Yoga studio in Clarendon, and while the workout itself was solid, the overall experience left much to be desired due to misleading advertising and poor customer service.
The studio prominently advertises a “free week,” giving the impression that you can attend your first class without commitment and only begin payment if you choose to continue. This seemed like a great opportunity to try out the studio. However, when we arrived for the scheduled class, we were told that the “free week” wasn’t allowed and payment was required upfront. This directly contradicted the email we had received just prior, which explicitly stated, “Your free week starts after your first class.”
When we brought this discrepancy to the staff’s attention, their response was dismissive, offering no real explanation or resolution. Being told, “it’s not allowed,” without addressing the conflicting messaging left us feeling misled and undervalued as potential new customers.
While I understand the need for clear policies, it is unacceptable to advertise a promotion and then fail to honor it. This lack of transparency and accountability reflects poorly on the studio’s professionalism and respect for its clientele.
If CorePower wants to attract and retain new members, they need to improve their communication and honor their advertised offers. Sadly, the experience felt like a bait-and-switch, which overshadowed what could have been a positive introduction to their studio.
Until they address these issues, I would caution others to carefully verify terms before signing up or committing to a class.

I tried a free trial week here. I took two classes, one was core restore which was a relaxing class. The studio was not full and I enjoyed this one! However, the next day I tried a yoga sculpt class which was definitely overbooked. My friend and I came maybe 1 minute late and there was literally no room left in the studio for us. The instructor was mad we were late and didn’t help us find a spot. She was clearly annoyed with us and wasn’t afraid to show it. Unfortunately people being late is part of the business, if you can’t put on a good customer service face, then don’t work in a service based industry. Luckily we weren’t paying customers, just doing the free trial. If you’re going to overbook classes, there should be someone in the studio instructing everyone where to put their mats so there is optimal spacing and room for everyone. We were nearly touching the people next to us. We won’t be buying a membership or any more classes - there are more professional studios out there.

I love CorePower! I never thought I would like heated yoga, but I’m addicted. The instructors are great, the facilities are clean, and I enjoy all the classes! I probably go to Adam’s classes the most (he teaches hot fusion and C2), great instructor. This is my favorite location, although they are all good!

The instructors are great and encourage you to get out of your comfort zone, but not in an offensive or invasive way. I just took Yoga Sculpt for the first time and I am hooked! I've traditional vinyasa yoga for several years. YS is an awesome combination of yoga and strength training. Melissa Hu is the best!

I joined the studio because of the number and variety of classes offered at multiple locations. The rooms have mirrors and temperatures are warm to hot. The teachers are very encouraging and friendly. I have so many favorites! Ann at Merrifield, Jennifer Kuzmuk at Clarendon. I get an amazing workout at the different classes they offer. Changing rooms are clean. They also have live and on demand classes. Highly recommend! I get an amazing workout at the different classes they offer. Changing rooms are clean. CP Clarendon is really great – really new, well designed, and very clean studios. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and my teacher for the Yoga Sculpt class was great.
The only (very, very small) complaint I have is the code locker system where you enter in a custom code each time... It seemed like the keypad wasn't working on about a quarter of the available lockers in the women's locker room. I had to try 5 different lockers before I finally found one that worked. The Pentagon City CP uses mini padlocks with a key and those always work.

I've been attending classes at CorePower Arlington for 10 months now and couldn't be happier with my experience there. The teachers are phenomenal and know how to make every class different than the last. The class options and times are always very convenient. I'm able to take almost every different type of class from morning until night. No matter my schedule I'm able to fit in a class. Give it a try and thank me later!

I liked a number of the classes (C2 and Yoga Sculpt) but I really dont like that you dont sign up for the classes ahead of time, especially around new years. I cancelled my membership after showing up twice to completely full classes, the next class wasnt offered for an hour after that. The locker room is also very small and a bunch of the lockers dont work. I mentioned it to the front desk a few times and they just said oh yea we know, also no paper towels to wipe down your mat afterwards which was a bit absurd to me considering we pay $159 per month. I love the concept and some of the instructors are really great, but its just not worth all of the money you are paying.

Excellent classes! I took a Hot Fusion class for my first yoga class in a lloooonnnnggg time and I absolutely loved it. So a few days later I took another Hot Fusion class with a different instructor - again, amazing. Finally, I took a sculpt class, thinking "how hard a workout can this be?" and was blown away by how great I felt afterwards. So many great classes, great instructors, in a really clean, sleek, and modern environment. Highly recommend!

I chose to become a member at core power yoga after trying out several other places in the area (not just yoga). What I loved about Core Power is that the instructors are a diverse group of people, and as such I think that
Core Power attracts a clientele that is also diverse. I did not find this to be the case in other studios and exercise places around Court House area. I've tried all the classes- the HPF classes have been too hot for me, but I go to a mix of CP1, CP2, and Yoga Sculpt. All the instructors have been great.

It's fine enough, but the experience is a bit impersonal compared to other studios I've visited (which makes sense, because it's a giant corporation). It's more fitness-focused than other studios. I didn't like how intensely they try to recruit your for their teacher training - seems shady. Only 1-2 teachers offered a flow that was challenging and engaging to me.
