What a gem! My wife and I went on a quick weekend trip to DC, and as with all trips, we looked for a new gym to try. But paying for guest passes can be a real nightmare. Not only were the staff incredibly welcoming, but they also have their guest passes active for 24 hours, meaning you can lift in the afternoon and come back for a second workout the following morning. They must have had 30 different machines for each muscle group. A very fun experience and a must try if you're in the area!

I recently signed up for an Early Bird membership, and the lady in the mornings at the front desk is always open to help if you have questions. This review is solely about customer service. A few weeks ago, my friend and I visited DMV Iron on Wilson blvd. because I recently moved farther from our usual gym and this one seemed like a convenient alternative for both of us.
We arrived around 9 a.m. on a Wednesday and approached the front desk to express our interest in joining and asked for a tour. The lady at the front desk immediately told us that they don’t do tours and that we can walk around but not touch anything in a very dismissive unprofessional tone. We also thought it’s a potential liability issue but we started walking around anyway.
As we walked around, we were surprised by the variety of equipment but also a bit overwhelmed. Many machines looked similar and we had several questions about how they differed. When we returned to the front desk to ask if someone could show us around or explain the layout as most gyms usually do for prospective members… the same lady looked at us as if we’d made an unreasonable request. She told us that if we wanted that kind of help, we’d need to sign up for 2- 3 personal training sessions because as she put it “I can’t show you what each machine does.” We continued and asked about their membership and she told us you can check it online… but then, surprisingly, she decided to show us the different tiers of membership and that was it.
The unprofessional tone and attitude made us feel dismissed as if we’d never stepped foot in a gym before. We left with a very bad impression of the customer service which was disappointing because the gym itself seemed amazing.

My first thoughts were this is a sweet environment. Then you add the staff. All of them are very welcoming and have great energy. In your early twenty’s or thirty’s this will be the gym for you. Huge space that is filled with like minded individuals that get after it. Don’t quit get to it!

I’ve been a member of DMV Iron since 2019, and I can honestly say it’s transformed my fitness journey. The machines here are unlike anything you’ll find in other gyms—many of them aren’t available at any commercial gym nearby.

The equipment is top-notch, and the space is designed for serious results. Since joining, I’ve seen incredible changes in my body and strength, and I continue to be motivated every time I walk in. Inquired about it their personal training program & the prices were outrageous especially in this current economy now props to the top 5% upper class that can afford it I wish to be like you when I grow up but there wasn’t Ferraris, rolls Royce’s around in the parking lot when I pulled up. I appreciate company being up front and transparent on their website unfortunately I couldn’t do my own research I had to book a consult & meet in person.. cool. Gym is super nice I’ll be signing up for a gym membership only. Other PT programs normally you get 3-4 sessions per week pay for that etc pretty standard but the way this company do literally had my brain confused as hell. I could pay $500-$600 for 12 session per month in Alexandria (there’s currently a waitlist which is why I haven’t) here they charge a band. For example “12 sessions: $1120 total ($95/hour)

Since it is a prepaid service, and if you would like to break it into payments for twice a week here would be the structure:

$570 due at sign up (it covers 6 sessions. $570/$95 per hour = 6).

6 sessions would last you three weeks in a 2x per week training plan. After that your second payment would be automatically drawn to unlock the remaining 6 sessions.

The biweekly structure ($190 biweekly) would be for a 1x per week training plan.”

Nothing in my opinion justifies that unless I’m paying for a celebrity personal trainer had I known 12 sessions would be that much I wouldn’t have wasted mine or the GMs time. I’ve been having a hard time finding a PT in NOVA not willing to drive to dc or md. so this is a sign to be my own trainer & get my own body right.

I showed up at DMV Iron early this morning by accident, I forgot my old gym (LA Fitness) doesn’t open until 8am on weekends. Crazy, I know. But it turned out to be a great mistake!

The facility at DMV Iron is super clean, packed with top-of-the-line equipment, and the atmosphere is serious and motivating, everyone is there to work. The energy is amazing.

Big shoutout to Alex, the staff member on duty, who was extremely professional and guided me through the whole process with zero hassle. Honestly, that kind of service is what’s missing at a lot of other gyms.

I ended up signing up for the Early Bird membership, which fits perfectly with my schedule. They’ve got multiple membership options to fit different needs, which is a nice bonus.

I used to love this gym until I tried to cancel my membership. I paid on July 1 and notified them to cancel my membership July 8. They responded saying that I needed to pay on August 1 and would have access to the gym through September 1 due to their 30 day cancellation fee. They also have a yearly fee that doubled my monthly cost in January.

I had to cancel due to financial hardship, and due to their fine print, they are going to forcibly charge me for a month more membership that I don't want.

I'm sorry this is just bad business. I won't be back, and I can't recommend this gym.

Falls Church DMV Iron is easily one of the best gyms in the area. It’s spacious, well laid out, and just a blast to work out in. I’ve been coming here for the past 7 months, and it’s been nothing but a great experience. The energy in this place is always on point—whether you’re training solo or with friends, it just makes you want to push harder. Tons of equipment, plenty of dumbbells, and everything is kept clean and organized.

I love this gym. Let me repeat, I love this gym. It finally opened in Woodbridge and it is everything I wanted. The equipment is top notch. The gym has a variety of good equipment and 24/7 but parking can be terrible at times. There are dedicated tripod/recording hours but people ignore that and setup whenever they want and no one enforces it.

Gym has a lot of machines and free weights but lacking cardio equipment. There are only 10 treadmills. They should also have more restrictions when it comes to members recording and tripods everywhere. Members will still get away with recording even though they state it is prohibited.

Serious gym for people who train seriously. The equipment quality here is superior to most other gyms.

Knocking this down from a 5 star to a 2-star because they made cancellation difficult and charged my card for an extra month that the know I wasn't using.

This is what they sent me, I call this "complexity fraud", its when companies work weird stuff into the contract that are technically legal, but are unethical. Here, they are telling me that they will charge my card again in 10 days after I told them I moved and asked to cancel:

Edit: I reduced the review rating here from a 2-star to a 1-star because their reply to this review includes a few things that are problematic:
1) They re-iterate that their cancellation policy is not hidden. This is of course true. But it implies that I am somehow stupid and wrong for my dissatisfaction. People do not comb through websites and contracts looking for cancellation policies when the sign up for gyms. Also, even knowing them, we'll likely sign up anyway. But this doesn't make it right to keep charging a customer who is no longer attending the gym. This is a similar situation to when you rent an apartment, and when you go to renew the contract, they jack the prices up above market value. They are technically in their right to do so, but its not ethical. Most apartments do this, and they should all be given negative public reviews in order for apartments that don't do this to attain a competitive advantage. If enough people ding the reviews for gyms that do this, these gyms will stop doing it. Or other gyms that don't do it will arise.
2) They chose to gaslight me and other consumers in their response instead of attempting to right the customer complaint. This means that if you have any other issues with them, they are unlikely to work with you because their attitude is not to keep their customers happy, but to instead claw as much money from them as possible.

This is hands down the best gym I've ever been a member at. I'm military and have moved a lot, and had memberships to various gyms in CA, AZ, KS, MO, AR, and VA. DMV Iron has the most courteous clientele, who actually display proper gym etiquette across the board. The equipment is unparalleled and it's always, always clean. Only minor annoyance is how many people are recording and trying to do things for IG likes, but that's just the world that is fitness in 2025, and it's pretty easy to ignore.

Just completed 12 weeks of personal training with Furqan Abassi at DMV Iron Gym - Falls Church. If your focus is any type of strength training then this is the place to be in the DMV with their plethora of machines and free weights. Environment is great and staff are welcoming. A few caveats for this gym however include the limited dryers available in the back bathrooms (only 1 for three sinks), lack of signs or maps to indicate what section targets what muscle groups (with so many machines it’s overwhelming and hard to find the right equipment) as it took me three visits before I kind of knew where everything was. Alcohol wipes instead of paper towels and spray bottles would be nice along with mints in the bathroom would be a nice add along with the bathroom stalls being wider for their bigger clientele. Otherwise it’s a no frills gym and world class at that for weight lifting, look forward to coming back when in the area and possibly updating my rating based on how they grow and implement more changes. I’ve been to other gyms of similar caliber and price range, hence my more stern critique despite genuinely liking this gym. As such I would happily spend the 150 again for the two one week passes they offered despite this basically being a first month membership. One last thing, more cubbies in addition to gym lockers would be nice so I wouldn’t have had to drag my extra clothes all around the gym as I didn’t have a lock. The Alexandria location does a great job at this in that they have more cubbies available.

If you are serious about getting in crazy good shape this gym is unmatched in the area for its equipment and price. The people in this gym you meet may look intimidating but are more than happy to have a chat, give you a spot, or just all around be supportive. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Ps. Most intense Sauna I've ever been in.

A world class gym. Designed beautifully. Any and every piece of equipment and machine you could ever imagine, classic and custom. I can show up early afternoon or after work past midnight. Most importantly, there’s a culture here that keeps me coming back for more. I can’t recommend it here enough.

Best gym owners I have ever met in my life bc they deeply care about their members, staff, facility, community, and machines!

Just love this gym so much and the members are devoted to strength training @ the highest level.

I could write a book about why this gym is wonderful place to train at and how comfortable I feel about going here.

My only wish for what I would want more of is larger sized parking spaces. Simply bc I fear getting trapped with parking and one day having to crawl through my trunk to enter my vehicle. This may be out of your control. Still I often wonder what it would be like if we all spoke what we would want more of in a kind gentle manner to one another.

I feel safe training at both VA locations any day or time.

Having access to a gym 24 hours has made my life easier, more adaptable and helped me expand overall as a human bc I know I can maneuver my training session into my day at any time.

Perhaps I will return write more of this book - I mean review of what I love and what I would want more of for the future.
