Excellent program for Senior health with the great management of Deb and the exceptional teaching from Ella and Tameika. The atmosphere was friendly and positive and I experienced great gains in my strength, balance and cardio health with the Effingham team’s guidance. I wish Silver Sneakers was available there, though!

I enjoy the structure of the fitness class. Instructor encourages each participant to TRY and supports our efforts. Each session is different. I feel as if I have improved my strength and balance. The tempo of music and selection of music inspires me to keep up. Almost 80 years old, I am so thankful for this Sentara Fitness and Balance program at Effingham Y for Seniors. I am UP and moving in physical activities even more since coming.

This is my home gym and it's just such a great community. I do love many different YMCA's but this is like family, like a home gym. Deborah is a great fitness instructor, friendly, and a great motivator to achieve the goals you want to reach. If you looking for a gym for your fitness goals, this is the fitness for you.

Not crowded during the time that I come to work out. The facility is always clean and staff are friendly. Would've gave it a 5 star but there is no drink machine to get water. Other than that i will continue to come here.

I can say I am thankful for the YMCA
I was afraid for my kiddo to start the Y.The building is a great size .the first time experience has been great , the YMCA Program really focuses on the youth .Not only that the staff treats me and my kiddo like family. My child has Opened up more , she is not as shy and she is building friendships. Thank you to the awesome staff and thank you for providing great and constant child care for me and my kiddo 💓

Traveling the world extensively I've spent extended time at other locations worldwide but always look forward to returning to the Effingham Street Family YMCA, home base. I wanna say how impress I am with the Effingham Street YMCA. The people at the customer service counter are always friendly and welcoming you with a smile on their faces. I love how you guys always setting up for different seasons for example Black History Month perfect display in the front as soon as you walk in and by the way, your personal trainer, Deborah Clark is Totally what YMCA represents Her customer service is top-tier. Absolute WORST SUMMER CAMP!!! Not so much the youth leaders, but management is unprofessional, terrible with communication, and typically never know what's going on. Had to stop payments for them to respond to me. Other locations are better.

Recently moved away, but I really enjoyed working out at this location. Less crowded than others in the area and has everything you need for a good workout. However, I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the warm and helpful staff that made every interaction feel like I was family. Good place, great people!

In regards to their summer camp program I'd highly recommend against sending your young child here. Extremely unorganized, unprofessional, piss poor communication and to be honest you can tell they could care less and don't want to be there. So if you were considering their summer camp for your child and wanted to check the reviews this is a heads up now to avoid and instead enroll your child in the other YMCA on High St. Night and day difference.

Great small community facility. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and the classes are not overly crowded nor is the equipment. Equipment is clean and in good working order.

It is small, and equipment variety is limited. There is no indoor pool for fall/winter use. There types of classes offered are also limited and minimal, but again the few which are offered are fun and engaging.

Very small facility. Dated locker room. The pool area looked nice. The children that were there were having a blast. All the weight and cardio equipment is in one room which is very tight. It's probably functional for those that need that type of facility. For others. It's a little too cramped.
