If only I had the time to write a book about how incredible Liz Harvey is as well as Encore training because a simple review isn’t enough to describe the difference they’ve made in my life. Liz is the most knowledgeable and encouraging trainer you will ever meet! I started with her a few years ago feeling a bit defeated since those before weren’t able to help me fix my muscle imbalance and reach my goals. Liz went out of her way to diagnose the issue and make sure I knew exactly what was happening with my body and how we were going to reach my goals. With her trademark “we will make it happen” attitude and vast knowledge when it comes to the human body, I can proudly say that I’m stronger than ever and can even hip thrust over 300 pounds! As a 5’2” girl who’s 115 pounds, I never thought that was possible but Liz made it happen! I don't often write reviews, but I have to talk up Encore. It is in a nice area of Falls Church, although the strip mall is a little junky. When you get into the Encore space though, it's all very high end feeling. Super clean, great equipment and the trainers really know their stuff. I am in my late 50's and am achieving my goals of gaining muscle while not hurting myself! First time in my life I have looked forward to working out. Highly recommend!

Started training with Gabe a couple of months ago. He’s very attentive to my knee and spine issues, and has a way of bringing me along on my training without making me feel too pressured. I have been doing both strength and strength training with Nicole for about one year. Her custom stretching and flexibility programs tailored for me absolutely helped my lower back sciatic problem. I have more mobility and strength since I started the program with her. Since she is also a yoga teacher, she gives a lot of tips for my core muscle and balance. She keeps me motivated throughout my fitness journey and makes me aware the risks associated with improper stretching.

Weight training with Gabe at Encore is a delightful experience. I have a torn meniscus and arthritis in both knees, so he doesn’t push me as hard as he does my husband😊. After 4 months of working with Gabe he suggested to try stretching with Nicole. We have done so and are very pleased with her skills. Stretching with Nicole after weight training with Gabe is the ideal combination to avoid DOMS (day one muscle soreness). I highly recommend trying to stretch with Nicole to complement the weight training routine, you’ll feel much better.

I have been seeing Nicole for stretching once a week for almost two years now. She is not only kind, thoughtful, and funny, but she knows her stuff. Nicole gives good tips about how to stretch once my own and how to best benefit from the yoga classes I go to. I feel so much better with Nicole’s stretching, and my flexibility has improved. My wife and I have been training at Encore twice a week for the last six months and we would highly recommend it for three main reasons. First, we like going to the studio as it is akin to having a very well-equipped gym and a trainer in the privacy of your own home – a far more personal experience than going to a larger gym. Second, as an older couple without much prior weight training experience, we appreciate that the training sessions have been tailored to progressively help build up our strength and confidence. Finally, it is a real pleasure to work with Gabe; beyond being a very nice person, he brings the right combination of technical knowledge, motivational ability and humor to help you go just that little bit further even when you think you have reached your physical limits !

Gabe is a fantastic trainer. I started working out with Gabe this year. He first offered an evaluation where we discussed my goals and he did some screening exercises, so he got a sense of my baseline (which was not a very high starting point). I am a working mom trying to get back in shape. I love that he helps me make modifications as we go along to help me keep good form. He pushes me but I don’t feel overwhelmed or judged. He has also been offering nutrition advice and even sends me recipes. Gabe is enthusiastic, motivating, and fun to hang out with. I look forward to our workouts. I would highly recommend Gabe!

Gabe is the best personal trainer you'll find. He pushes you when it's necessary, but not too tough to break you or hurt something. He's easy to work with and a genuinely nice guy. No prejudices, no judgment, he'll just make you better at whatever you're trying to achieve. I especially like that he's creative in coming up with new ways to work muscle groups, on the fly, when soreness or injury interfere with the traditional means of working muscles. You will not regret working with Gabe.

What can I say about Gabe.. Well, first of all - I couldn’t ask for a better trainer. I’ve had personal trainers in the past. They were alright I guess. I had generally neutral to mildly positive views on them. I assumed thats just how trainers were and I didn’t expect much more. That was until I started working with Gabe. Now I realize that they all sucked, and that there actually were trainers (like Gabe) that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Gabe brings an infectious positivity, a professional punctuality, an empathic patience, and a motivational passion. Gabe is a collaborative goal setter, a mindful and present listener, and just an all around good guy.

I’ve worked with Gabe for a few months now and I’m making progress I hadn’t thought was possible. I can’t give him a higher recommendation.

Gabe is an extremely conscientious trainer. He is punctual for all training sessions and never cancels. As a trainer he pays close attention to your form so you don’t injure yourself and varies the work out so that it isn’t boring or monotonous.
