When I registered, I disclosed I might relocate and was assured I could cancel if I moved, they assured me this at the beginning . I’ve now relocated and submitted my offer letter and Airbnb receipt while I secure housing, and I’ve paid for three months during this transition. Please honor that policy and process my cancellation. Still my cancellation is pending.

Super grossed out at Tyson’s Equinox today. My shower had 3 piles of hair sitting on the side by the door, and the sauna was full of leftover towels with hair all over the seats 😳 For $200+ a month, this doesn’t feel like a “high end” gym. Please get more cleaning staff.

Hi, we came to check the facility out and talk to an advisor. First they took are licenses and are doing some process of checking in. As husband and wife they want our information separately. The staff had so much attitude that there are no words.Second they only have one advisor and he is sitting idle while he is telling us to wait for 40 mins. They are not ready to delete our information from the system.

Not worth it. It’s not what it used to be- overcrowded, rude and uncaring greedy management- hidden fees. Better off going somewhere cleaner and less crowded. Check out Tyson’s playground!

The equipment is always pretty clean, there just isn’t enough of the core equipment to meet the demand. The trainers and the clients can also be problematic as they regularly take up equipment without using it, often reserving equipment for the clients or simply occupying too many pieces of equipment at once. The photo below is a good example - abandoned for 10+ minutes before I had enough and cleaned it up myself.

I am a new member to Equinox at Tysons. The staff is friendly and informative. Michael, Susan, and Anissa have been extremely helpful on the floor when I am lifting weights. The facilities are clean and efficient.

They provide a variety of classes catered towards differing levels of experience. I am new to barre classes and the instructors have made me feel welcome. I recently had an amazing barre class with Molly who was attentive and motivating. I would recommend this gym and their classes.

I have cancelled my membership for over 6 months now and I am still getting text messages without an OPT-OUT asking me to come back and rejoin. I find this very annoying and unacceptable. I got pressured into joining this gym by someone who “cared” for my well being but just wanted the $100 promo that Equinox grants people who successfully refer a new member. I got scammed. Also, when I joined I was never shown a contract just told to sign an electronic screen with a signature section and from that point on you’re completely stuck for 1 whole year. You can’t pause your membership, cancel, or leave for any reason. You have to pay the $250 or whatever exorbitant amount every month until the whole 1 year has culminated.

BUT: These water fountains need to be updated, I’ve been to cheaper gyms with super fancy water stations and I would think that equinox would be on the same level if not better.

Stopped by during open hours, but they couldn’t discuss memberships or give me a tour of the gym. Wouldn’t even let me look at the equipment. Huge waste of time. Supposedly a luxury gym, but severely understaffed. Not sure what they spend their money on, but it’s clearly NOT customer service.

Joining this gym has truly been a positive lifestyle change for me. I’m so appreciative of Annabell for showing me around and helping me sign up, and for Susan Fuller’s help/expertise with my fitness assessment and wonderful personal training session with me. I meet with my trainer 3 times a week and have been thrilled with the results. I would also like to mention that the facility is very well maintained and the cleaning staff does an outstanding job keeping the locker rooms, restrooms and gym area clean. The staff is frequently on the floor wiping down equipment to ensure safe workout conditions. Thank you Equinox for an awesome fitness experience.

So this happened a while ago, and the gym may be under new management now, but writing this as a cautionary tale to others. There were some deals/discounts going on with this gym and I signed up at the last minute to take advantage of them. There were verbal promises that I'd be able to cancel whenever I wanted, but I never actually saw the contract. Turns out that my signature had been forged on the contract in order to meet the deadline and I was locked in for a year membership. Requests to terminate the membership were denied due to the language in the contract, even though I had not agreed to it. Bottom line: make sure you get a final copy of the contract and see your signature before assuming that you're good to go.

Did a a few years here pre Covid and post Covid. They make you sign for a year. When it’s signing time they’ll say just about anything. They told me you get four guest passes. It turned out to be two. They told me to just email and they’ll get a few more passes. But the sales people don’t last long. And don’t respond to that type of inquiry. So read the long contract. Don't rely on any verbal promises. No response if you want to cancel. The business side of the place is poor. It is clean which is a big plus. One year and out.

I am writing this review to help others considering joining this gym avoid the money pitfalls that I experienced.
1. When I signed-up for the gym and was shown the kids club and told it was "temporarily closed". This was a major factor in joining this gym. The kids club was never re-opened and Equinox told me that that was not a valid reason to approve a membership cancellation and would be liable to pay the remaining 7 months of the membership.
2. Membership hold: I put my membership on hold for 1 month due to travel and was charged a $50 fee without ever communicating what the cost would be.
3. When I finally decided to cancel my membership, I communicated it through the main Equinox customer service. They apparently do not communicate information with the actual gym you are a member at. So, I continued to be charged for personal training sessions through a subscription. I was charged for a total of 6 sessions in the month following my cancellation. I was told that they would not issues a refund even though I had already canceled my membership. There were a total of 8 unused sessions that were left and two weeks left of my membership. Several communications with the Equinox customer's service where a refund was promised and never given. That was 4 months ago.
4. Once I notified my trainer I had cancelled my membership I tried to coordinate with her to get as many sessions scheduled as I could, as to not loose out on money, and all communication stopped. I had a total of 7 sessions left on my account. All money waisted.
I was at the gym for almost 2 years and worked exclusively with one trainer for that entire time. I just would expect a gym of this caliber and this price point would do better.

I’m sorry to have to send this review but I want to share my very unfortunate experience at Equinox Tysons.
I am a long time former Equinox member and wanted to work out with my partner who is a member for 10+ years.
We arrived at 12:45 on Christmas Day and knew the club closed at 2 pm. My partner checked in and wanted to use one of his 8 guest passes for me.
The manager, a woman, came out to say I couldn’t use the guest pass but I could pay $75 for a guest pass. The thought of paying $1/minute to work out is absolutely ridiculous. I chose to wait while my partner worked out.

About 15 minutes later I asked for the water fountain and was told I could buy water for $4 but could not go downstairs to fill my reusable bottle. Or I could call my partner to fill it up for me. Absurd!

After an hour I asked if I could use the restroom and was allowed to do so. At this point the ‘manager’ had left because I said goodbye to her as she walked out.

The next day my partner went back with a friend and was allowed to use one of his guest passes for his friend.

I’m not sure what the policy is but clearly its profits were over people. I’m so disappointed by the terrible customer service we received at this location.
You can do better!

Equinox kept charging me money during covid when everything was shut down (and didn't reimburse me for MONTHS). I reached out several times and Equinox still charged me for services not rendered, it was so unfair I decided to cancel my membership in Tysons Corner VA. Horrible experience when you deal with management too, rude and unprofessional, they didn't hear me out and talked down to me 👎 BTW, I know you're gonna reply to this saying to DM you privately, and not do anything about it, bravo 👏 😒.

THEY HAVE A SPA!!! A hidden secret you must try! The massage I received today by DELEIGH, was amazing! Her magical ability to find the tight spots and work all the muscles is spot on. DELEIGH's training, knowledge and experience combined with her soft-spoken professional manner, care and concern, always make me feel at ease. She takes the time to ask all the right questions up front and during massage, ensuring the pressure, heat, aroma, etc., are right for me. The spa is beautiful and inviting. The room was clean, appropriately lit and music was relaxing. The heated massage table is luxurious! They have a nice steam room and showers including towels and toiletries providing a nice way to end the visit. My skin so soft and smooth now, an added bonus! I feel new from head to toe.
ASK for DELEIGH when you schedule your massage, she is trained in many techniques, will treat you with respect and take good care of you. You will not be disappointed.

I too moved from LA to the VA area like the other lady who wrote a post a few months ago. I've been spoiled on what luxury is at the Equinox locations across LA. At this location, you have to bring your own padlock for the locker; the locker room is worse than that of a high school locker room. This place is depressing. I just found out I can buy an entire year of membership at 24 hour fitness for 1 month of fees at Equinox. This place is a dump - does not represent the Equinox name at all. I have the Century City- Destination membership and they didn't even know what that was and tried to upsell me - when I told I already had the Destination Membership - everyone was so confused. This is basically the YMCA - I agree with the other comment.

This review is the last thing I want to do. Going to Equinox in Los Angeles for the last couple of years indeed did the job of setting the standard for what to expect. But then I had to relocate to VA for a year, and when I tell you, this is more of a YMCA version of Equinox than the whole luxury experience you are supposed to get. From the dated bathrooms and equipment, you won't feel the price tag is worth it. So let's get to the point of my review. Yesterday, I had the worst experience I ever had at an equinox. A trainer and her client approached me. I was asked how much longer I had, even though I just started. As a trainer, you would think they would be able to do the same workout with free weights, but no. They stood in front of me until I could no longer move the machine. I couldn't believe it, so I ended my workout early because I was in such disbelief that I needed to distance myself. This is the culture of the Equinox Tysons that can't compete with better locations. Trainers are flooding the floors while their clients talk to each other rather than completing the sessions they pay for. The bottom line is that the gym's culture is a YMCA with pushy trainers, not the plush/ luxurious gym you want it to be for the price tag….

I was a previous member of Equinox (Bethesda and Tysons) and after trying different gyms decided to rejoin. After the stay-at-home orders were lifted, I joined a gym closer to my home and it was going pretty great until they opened the class sizes back to full capacity but without the same cleaning standards that were previously in place.

I gym hopped a bit and decided on whim to look back at Equinox - Tysons. I filled out the online form and wasn’t expecting a response till the next day since it was closer to 4:00 pm when I submitted it.

Hesham, one of their membership advisors reached to me to see if I would like to schedule a tour. I figured let me see if they

could see when me at 4:45-5 the same day. Hesham said that would be great and off I went after work.

My tour with Hesham went great and even being a previous member, I was truly appreciative that he didn’t just “go with the motions.” Yes, I know membership advisors are about getting people to sign up plus at the end of the day; they have sales goals to meet. However, in any situation that can be a hard-sale environment. I become hyper-aware of certain tactics and body language.

Hesham did not do a hard-sale and made my decision to rejoin easy. Since I’ve rejoined, he has followed up with me on how everything is going plus just checking in. This type of customer service is hard to find nowadays and when it is. It needs to be acknowledged. So hopefully, this review makes it to the General Manager so they know they have a great representative in Hesham.

Equinox Tysons is not what it used to be. Over the past few years, the quality of the facility has plummeted and the price of the membership has increased. The management does nothing to better, not even- maintain the quality. This location is a bunch of girls blatantly taking locker room selfies with naked people in the background, bad conditioned Egyptian cotton towels, dirty Kiehl's bottles, and a number of rude staffs that will ruin your day. Staffs are mostly nice except few that are just unpleasant to deal with. Front desk staffs are mostly very pleasant, but the management/sales staffs are not. Hesham, one of the sales rep at this location is such a nightmare. Choose the female sales manager who is much more professional. Hesham is not only unprofessional, but also rude, and is someone who can't afford to be nice without your money in his face. Hesham is just too obvious. People come here to maintain their nice lifestyle, not to better it or worsen it. Additionally, mind you- they close at 7PM on Fridays and 6PM on the weekends. I call that lazy. I will most likely be not renewing my membership along with many of my workout buddies within the Equinox Tysons community.

Equinox corporate, the gym and staff were fantastic at this location however I can't get behind the one year contract requirement with no flexibility. Seems a bit like a bait and switch tactic. Went to check out the gym. Nice facility but at $200/mo it should be. Said I am just there to workout, and still got the sales pitch around the tiling in the bathroom, the recycled materials on the floor and Egyptian threads on the towels. May matter for some but not my thing. Also no military discount, which was disappointing. I used to belong to Equinox in NY and the value proposition was better. Much cheaper options with comparable amenities in DC.

The review here is not about the facility itself or the staff. They have been outstanding. However this is a luxury gym and we pay good money to go to this facility so the service should be expected. The issue here is that during COVID they reduced their hours understandable as COVID affected many places staffing. No that we are out of COVID the whole country appears to be opening back up they have still not gone back to full hours. The gym used to open at 5 and now they are not open that early. So this is reduced access to the facility but yet still the same cost of membership. Flexibility is understandable when the circumstances warrant it but now I am finding it hard to justify why or how reduced hours with no communication on when they are going to return to full service is still a thing. Check before signing up and make sure they are going to give you what you pay for and not just use excuses to keep lowering the amount of service they provide to you. If they only made every effort to do what we agreed to when I signed up I would be happy.

I was a loyal equinox member in NYC. After referring two of my friends to join me I moved near DC for work. I left Manhattan and the quality of Equinox degraded like a NASDAQ crash during the dot com bubble. Rusted equipment, outdated treadmills, and horrible service, lack of trainers haunt this gym. Even when I’m lifting if a trainer spots something I might be doing wrong, they will come over and give me a heads up. It’s great. This is my favorite Equinox so far and I’ve visited about a dozen at this point. I think if I had to complain about something I would request more water fountains, especially with those fancy bottle fillers that show you how many plastic bottles you have spared by filling your own bottle. But really that’s it. I love this gym. And swimming in the warm salt water pool makes me happy. I need to explore more of the group classes.

My experience with Equinox Tysons spanned over a year and a half before I moved out of the area and decided to cancel my membership. The staff and trainers were very good and knowledgeable. Amenities and events planned we're great, the pool was always clean and never too crowded. Even classes were easy to find a d schedule due to ample availability. The only aspect I struggled with is that the staff constantly tries to pressure you into buying personal fitness classes which made for sometimes awkward encounters if you aren't interested. Even so, overall it's been a good experience.

the reason I went to this was for the location but they have no concept of privacy. Forget it being pricey but If someone recommended me, I signed up and went for 3 years, and someone else signed up by my referral (3 years into my membership), why tell them who originally referred me? Why does it matter? What if it's an ex or a formal boss? Why do you have to name others on your cliental list? Why does it concern the next person?

Texted him again two hours later since I haven’t received anything at all, no response at all again. Specifically told him if you can’t work with me , I can continue working with someone else from their sales team. Now it’s day 4 still no communication. I wanted to write a review since there aren't very many recent ones and I want to be helpful - I have had a great experience so far with Equinox. What drew me to them originally was the variety of classes you could take. Classes do fill up quickly because they are currently limiting the class size due to COVID-19. The yoga and barre classes fill up especially quickly. I really enjoy the yoga classes, cycling, and treadmill classes (done in intervals similar to Barry's Bootcamp). I have enjoyed all of the instructors so far and they will make sure you are clued in if you're confused on how the class works. There are plenty of cardio and weight machines, I have yet to have a problem with them being full. Parking is free and easy. The showers are clean and have Kiehl's products along with Kiehl's moisturizers, which was a nice touch. They also have plenty of towels and cold eucalyptus towels you can use after your workout. They offer a complimentary personal training session, fitness evaluation session, and pilates session. I found the fitness evaluation to be really helpful as I've never had a body scan done before. The juice bar, spa, and sauna are all closed at the moment but when I was given a tour the gym manager said that they would be open soon. The gym does have the "exclusive" vibe, and once again the big draw for me was the variety of classes. If it is within your budget and worth it to you I would highly recommend.

Wonderful gym and 100% worth the cost. This gym has fantastic classes all day that push you to your limits. I joined in November and have loved coming here. Super clean facilities and locker rooms. Great showers and it is always stocked up. All of the staff are super friendly and honestly remember who you are. You aren't just a number here. This gym treats you like family. You will not regret signing up.

Great equipment but way, way too expensive.

On the plus side, it has a Juice Press inside the lobby.

Great gym has everything you need, very clean and unlike other places where you have personal trainer pressuring you to sign up for training. Very calm but focused environment and no selfi self loving stare in the mirror people.

Emailed Darius Lunsford to try the gym. He kept hounding me to join. Its such a turn off when your being constantly pressed to join a gym without someone answering all your questions. He seems pretty goofy and I'm not sure if he understands how to sell to people, that are willing to pay 175$ for a gym membership. Gym is small. He gets one star.

Worked with Darian the sales adviser. He is just rude. Should not be working for Equinox selling luxury gym memberships. Very immature. This gym isn't that great for the price. Its in a basement. During the summertime it gets very hot. The gym is small compared to others. You don't get the full Equinox experience in my view with the Tysons locations.

What happened to this place? Their customer service has gone down the tube. I was up charged spa services I did not agree to over the phone, but wasn’t made aware until after the service and had to pay. It’s been very frustrating because my insurance covers massage therapy but since Equinox charged me under a different service (some “master” level service with no indication of what type of service was performed) I can’t get reimbursed. I had to pay EXTRA and now I can’t even get reimbursed for any amount! It wasn’t even worth it! The massage was OK, the spa did NOT give me a robe and slippers. When I asked about the robe and slippers, my technician said they were running low on both and that’s why she didn’t bother mentioning it. Not apologetic about it, just had excuses. I’ve never had a spa experience this poor before. I could have gone to the Ritz Carlton and it would have been cheaper, too.

So basically, if you really want a mediocre spa experience, be sure to book it yourself on their website (not over the phone) so you know exactly what you have to pay for in the end. There also seems to be a pretty big disconnect of communication between the spa and the front desk area where you pay. It’s like they (the front desk) don’t know what they’re charging you either.

I used to be a member but had to cancel because of work relocation. I remember liking their spa but after this experience I will not be returning for gym membership ever or any services they offer.

Only positive things... their women’s locker room is very nice; the Kiehl’s products are amazing. My trainer used to be Michelle G. I don’t know if she still works there, but she was great. I believe she was one of the higher level trainers so it was pretty costly. It may not be for everyone.

Edit 2 (11/8/2018): Rana is a great instructor & I love how she keeps the positive vibes alive. But someone keeps farting in the middle of the cycling class. I understand that Anthem is an exciting class with a ton of movements. But farting in the middle of the class is too spicy for me. Keep that gas to yoself meme bois and girls. Spice bomb.

Good facility. Great staff. The place is filled with living, breathing memes so I love going here. Staffs are breathing memes & Customers(including myself) are breathing memes. There’s only one big problem with this place: misalignment of schedule between cleaners & gym’s hours of operations.

Peeps start to power wash around 2200 which is 45 minutes before the shower closing time. So if you start taking a shower late night, then you’ll breathe in all the chemicals and other particles as you shower away.

Just don’t power wash the shower while customers are taking a shower. I have some sort of chemical reaction because of them power washing while I was taking a shower. Headed to the doctor’s tomorrow.

Edit 1: having skin reaction & had to take mild antibiotics. If you are closing the shower at 22:45, then start power washing after you close down the shower. If that’s too inconvenient, then change your hours of operations.

I love this gym. The classes and their instructors are awesome, the equipment is always clean, and the trainers are experts and top tier. The gm, AJ, is really responsive and the Advisors - especially Ashly - are super helpful. I highly recommend this gym.

Love it here! Staff is so friendly, instructors are helpful & the PT staff go way above & beyond for you. It's hard to single out any one instructor's class, but Ahmed is always a favorite. His yoga classes are not to be missed, if you are an avid yogi!

The club has stairs are dangerous to go down to the club because there is no stripes demarcating them, you can see a sloap instead of stairs a potential for fall and fracture I have talked to them several times, they become defensive instead of listening! If it was not for may Pilate teacher and my trainer I would not step foot in that place.

$150 for unlimited access to classes and the gym. I don't look at it like an expense, I look at it like investing in myself. The place is always clean, always organized, great staff, free covered parking, sauna, showers, unlimited access to different Kiehl's products...
All this makes me look forward to coming in to work out. You get what you pay for if you take advantage of what is offered.

Do not waste your money - the Tysons branch has aggressive sales people that will lie and mis guide in order to make a deal happen - Management does nothing to correct environment... Once they lock you in forget ever getting any assistance from them on anything unless they can make money off you and on top of that they are rude people and for the money you can do so much better else where - The tysons branch is in a basement, small locker rooms that need updating and a pool that looks like it was stuck in a corner above ground and nothing put into it - don't make the mistake i made by giving your money to people that don't deserve it
