I’m not a total beginner, but I wanted to work on improving my game and it’s been awesome. My coach, Dave Saunders, is fantastic and I highly recommend him. The lessons were fun, and I’ve seen a real improvement in my swing. The tech they use is super cool, and the app lets you review your sessions later so you can keep practicing. Overall, just a great experience!

The lessons at Golftec, and the access to the bays for practice, really took my game to the next level. Coaches are knowledgeable and friendly. A great investment for those looking to improve at golf!

GolfTec’s approach to teaching and analytics are above the best. The Tyson location is top notch and the instructors are legit. Dave Saunders is my coach and he has taught me so much. Very professional and a great player.

As a beginner, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the game than with Coach Dave Saunders at GOLFTEC Tysons. He’s made golf incredibly approachable and fun, which can be hard to find when you’re just starting out.

I’ve taken lessons with other instructors before, and they relied too much on “feel.” It turns out my technique was nowhere close to where my foundation needed to be. Coach Dave changed that. He combines solid fundamentals with state-of-the-art technology—video analysis, swing metrics, and data-driven feedback that bring a real “Moneyball” feel to learning. The data and video don’t lie—you can clearly see where your swing is off and what needs work. It takes the guesswork out and makes progress feel real.

Being able to schedule practice sessions at the facility has also been incredibly helpful. The environment is welcoming, and both Coach Dave and the staff create a comfortable, easygoing atmosphere that makes every visit something to look forward to.

I’m still a beginner, but for the first time, I feel like I’m building a real foundation and looking forward to continued growth and improvement. Highly recommend GOLFTEC Tysons—Coach Dave and the team run a fantastic shop.

Golftec has been a great source of information for my golf swing. I now understand body movements and club path like a pro. This information has been invaluable for my safety (avoiding injuries) and it helped me to understand how the golf swing should be executed by the numbers (thanks coach Chris Holden).

But working with Dave Saunders  makes me understand the priceless value of one of the best coaches I have ever seen (including the big professional coaches in the game of golf). I am a 20 handicap and I am extremely confident I will be a scratch golfer pretty soon thanks to my abilities and the coaching that comes from Dave Saunders.

Definitely Dave is one of the best and finest coaches out there!

Golftec has by far been the best investment I've made to improve my golf game. The technology they have takes all the guessing away, and my coach Dave Saunders, coaching style made it easy to make the right changes to my swing. Being able to re-watch the lessons online and view the progress is also incredibly helpful. From my initial journey with golftec, I've gone from barely breaking a hundred, to now consistently shooting in the mid 80's. I'm looking forward to breaking 80 soon. I can not recommend them enough.

I signed up for the 12 month, 24 lesson plan, and this has been by far the best investment I've made in improving my golf game. The analytic approach used (showing actual swing metrics and explaining why they matter) really appeals to me, and the instruction given on how to improve those metrics has been outstanding. Also having access to the simulator bays multiple times every week has really accelerated my learning process. Finally, the entire staff is friendly and helpful which makes for a very pleasant environment which is important to me because I've been spending a lot of time there!

My fitting went fine. I believe it was kind of cut short by the fitter, but overall I wasn’t disappointed with the fitting; however, I was very disappointed with the ordering process after the fitting. I emailed the fitter the day after the fitting and didn’t hear back until I sent a second follow up email a day or two later. I asked if the price of the fitting could be applied to the purchase. Understandably, it took another day or two for him to check with his manager. Ultimately, the answer was no and at that point I asked to just go ahead and purchase the club. That’s where the emails went silent. I sent a couple emails asking if I could order the club and never heard back. It wasn’t until I emailed Golftec’s general email (not the fitter’s email) about three weeks later that I got a response. I finally ordered the club, about 4 weeks after the fitting, for full price and it showed up about 2 weeks later with the wrong grip on it. So almost 6 weeks after the fitting, $150 for the fitting and $650 for the driver I have a club with a different grip than my whole set.
There are so many other options for club fittings. I recommend you find another one. Also, a number of places allow you to apply a portion of the fitting cost to the purchase. I’d shop around. I will not go back to Golftec Tysons and I’ll recommended others not to as well.
UPDATE 2 days later - Golftec read my review, contacted me and offered to install the correct grip. I declined the offer. I’m not interested in their help at this point.

I recently finished a series of lessons with Dave Saunders, and he was a great teacher. Dave gave me something new to work on every week, which is a great way to tackle a major swing change.
Dave was patient with my sometimes slow progress, and always very clear with his thoughts. I also love the technology- being able to watch real time video of my swing, and also see distance and accuracy results on trackman is super helpful. Loading lesson summaries and videos on the app after every lesson is also very helpful. GolfTec is expensive, but a good investment if you really want to break down and solve your swing issues.

Highly recommend - best lessons I have ever had. With Chris Holden's excellent instruction, I am consistently in the fairway and hitting greens like never before. The distance on all my clubs has increased as well.

I've taken lessons at GolfTec for several years and have improved a great deal over time. My current instructor, Dave Saunders, is an outstanding teacher... patient and clear, willing to explain the "why" as well as the "how." Having access to indoor bays with ball tracking and video is very helpful for practice, especially in winter. Excerpts from lessons are packaged and available to students on the website. GolfTec is not cheap but I have found it to be worth the money.

I was struggling with my swing and despite trying everything, couldn't get my handicap down from 15 because I was hitting over the top. I finally decided to commit to retooling my swing and signed up with Chris Holden. With half a dozen sessions and the same number of practice sessions using their system and facilities, I was down to a 7 within 6 months.
The only downside for the location is limited and pay for parking.
I highly recommend Chris - he will work with what you have then recommend feel based drills to get your swing back to where it should be.

Great facility and exceptional technology. The data that the technology provides on every swing really helps someone to quickly understand what needs to be done to improve and to get better and more consistent results.

The technology is unbeatable for the cost.

Video and ball flight: Being able to see your swing simultaneously down the line and face on in slow motion with good quality video combined with a professional quality launch monitor for ball flight is as good as it gets. You can't truly duplicate that at home for less than $40,000.

The New OptiMotion software is custom built and not available anywhere else. It accurately measures a golfer's body movements without the need to wear a harness and the software compares those body movements to those of professional golfers.

That technology alone is worth the price of lessons. But all the better if you find a great instructor. I've had lots of lessons over my life with lots of instructors, and there are not a lot of truly good instructors. I have recently been taking lessons with Dave Saunders and think he is fantastic. He zeroed in on the main problem in my swing immediately, has given me the information on what needs to change, and then explains how to practice so that you can execute those changes in your golf swing (which is not to keep pounding balls).

Terrible fitting experience. Ended up going somewhere else to get fit into the proper clubs. That was $100 wasted and I won’t be going back. I kept telling my fitter that the driver didn’t feel right, but all he cared about were the numbers, which weren’t even that good. They were also limited by shaft selection and I think that forced him into certain combinations. I’m glad I got a second opinion or else I would have wasted $500 on a poorly fit driver.

Best golf investment I have made. I should have done this years ago and my game is so much better now. Dave Saunders analytically broke down my swing and identified areas for improvement. While doing so, he made me clearly understand my swing which made it much simpler to correct the pitfalls. Highly recommended!!!

This is a great investment in your golf career. I used to go to the Gaithersburg location and followed Dave Saunders here. It’s moved into a brand new location with the newest tech. Dave has taken me from occasionally breaking 100 down to scoring in the 70s. Highly recommend!

Waiting money, and most importantly, waiting time. All they do is to connect you to the sensors and tell you after your swing that your number is not as good as one of the tour players.
