Before starting at Greenlight, I was just overwhelmed. I was struggling to stay consistent with exercise and really didn’t know how to listen to my body when it came to food. Honestly, I was just trying to do all the things, and none of it was sticking.
Now? Everything feels different—in the best way. I’m not as tired all the time. I have more energy. But what really stands out is that everyday life just doesn’t hurt anymore. I can bend over to pick something up without my back twinging. My knees don’t crack every time I squat. My body feels stronger—and I didn’t realize how much pain I was living with until it started to go away.
What I love most about the training sessions is that they’re actually tailored to me. It’s not some cookie-cutter plan. Deonte really listens—like, if I come in and say I’m feeling off or something’s bothering me, he adjusts it on the spot without making me feel bad about it. It’s supportive, flexible, and honestly, it’s just human. I never feel like I’m being pushed to the point of burnout or shame—just encouraged to do my best for that day.
The nutrition and mindset mentorship? Game changer. I’ve struggled with an eating disorder, and when I told Crystal that tracking calories was triggering for me, she pivoted immediately. No judgment. Just compassion. It was the first time I felt like I could actually talk about that part of my life and be heard. Plus, the meal prep tips have helped me make things easier instead of overwhelming.
One of the biggest wins for me is breaking up with the scale. Truly. It’s like that toxic ex who tries to creep back in now and then, but I don’t let it have power over me anymore. I’m focusing on non-scale victories now—like being able to do a side plank, walk my dog further, or sit back on my knees without pain. My clothes fit differently too, but the best part is that I’m not trying to squeeze into a certain size anymore. I just want to feel good—and I do.
I’m really proud that I stuck with it, even on the days I didn’t want to show up. I’d tell myself, “It’s just one hour,” and every time I left, I was glad I went. I never regretted going—but I know I would’ve regretted quitting.

From the moment I walked in I knew this gym would be different than all the other gyms I’ve been to. From the cleanliness, open layout and the sunshine peering through the windows, the energy is so pure here.
Laken has been the most amazing thing that’s happened to me in years. Working closely with her has helped me in more ways than one. Since starting here in June 2025, I’ve reversed my type 2 diabetes, I am confident in weight lifting and my strength and stamina in life has improved significantly. Before I started with Greenlight, I could barely do a squat—let alone a push-up or lunge. I have so many good things to say about Greenlight! I started with Greenlight because I needed consistency, accountability, and a change in my workout routine. I love the fact that I can walk into my sessions fully trusting Laken and the programming she has for me. I had experience with strength training prior to GL but her individualized programming has helped me get the strongest I’ve been. I look forward to my workouts, the atmosphere of the coaches and clients are welcoming and fun, and I always leave feeling energized for the day. Before I started at Greenlight, finding time to move and be active kept falling to the bottom of my list. I knew it was important, but work and family commitments always felt more urgent. From day one, the team helped me prioritize and defend that time for myself—and I’ve stuck with it, even when it meant showing up at 7am (which I never thought I’d say!).
The workouts are no joke—I’m sore all the time—but in a way that feels right. They challenge me just enough to know I’m making progress, and I’m learning so much about my body and how to move properly. Deadlifts, squats, things I thought were simple have so much more nuance, and the coaches really help you get it right.
Nutrition-wise… let’s just say giving up beer (one of my true passions) has been rough. But I’ve made changes that I never thought I’d stick to, like eating before 11am and cutting back on alcohol. Honestly, changing my habits in the kitchen has been harder than in the gym, but it’s been worth it.
What I’m most proud of? I haven’t missed a single session unless I was traveling. Even on nights with no sleep, I still showed up. That mindset shift—defending this time for myself—has been huge.
Friends and family have noticed the difference too. I might not call it a “transformation,” but I can feel my body changing in ways I haven’t felt since I was a teenager. I’m on a path now, and I’m sticking to it.

Bianca and the Green Light team have been incredible. Bianca knows exactly how to challenge me while also reminding me to give myself grace. The Green Light gym is a completely judgment-free space where progress is celebrated—big or small. It’s not about comparison, it’s about becoming your strongest self. Before joining Green Light, I had no idea where to start with fitness. I’d never done a structured workout program—just some cardio here and there at the YMCA or our country club gym. Strength training was totally new to me, and honestly, I was intimidated by the equipment and the idea of working out around other people. But I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Greenlight is more than personal training. While personal training that is specifically designed for each individual (post initial assessment) is a key part of the journey, the whole environment is boutique with attention to each client both on and off the floor - meeting you on your journey wherever you are without pushing you to a predetermined starting point . While Bianca gently encouraged and nudges to make me meet stretch goals on the floor, Crystal provides insights into the workings of my mind and the interpretation of medical metrics from my body to guide them to a new pattern. What pleasantly surprised me was the willingness of the Crystal to adapt to my constraints as a vegetarian as well as the lack of typical sales push to buy endorsed products. Last but probably the most important part of the package is the mentoring that comes with Greenlight - not to be underestimated. The icing on the cake has been the family atmosphere extended by Laken and Deonte that makes you feel at home when you are at Greenlight. My prior experiences with personal training do not stand a chance in front of what Greenlight has to offer. They sure are vested in your growth and are forgiving when life doesn't always cooperate with you - not the money minded corporate entities that want to empty your wallet and drum up images of Schwanneger that are unachievable innreality. If still unsure after reading this review, all I would say is give it a try for yourself - you will discover a new you!.

I did not know what to expect when I first went to Greelight Ashburn. I had seen the ads on Instagram, targeting women over 40 wanting to transform their bodies. Had I realized what that transformation looked, I would not have waited another second and would have signed with Greenlight months before. I am 6 months into my, I have never felt more physically and emotionally strong. Greenlight Ashburn is not like the trainers and gyms you have tried in the past, they look at you in a holistic manner, focusing on creating positive habits, proper form with a variety of fun exercise (I am horrified to call burpees fun and yet, I look forward to them), along with understanding your relationship with food, and everything around you. Have I lost 100s of pounds, no, and that’s okay, because for the first time ever, I can do a pull up – I can’t begin to tell you the joy I felt when I was able to clear the bar after multiple reps – thank you Coach Deonte. Thanks to Coach Crystal, I can accept that I do not need to be an arbitrary number on the scale, and thanks to her sage guidance, I can accept myself and body as I am. She helped me create meals that were satisfying and nourished my starved soul with her cheerful outlook, helping me change the thoughts in my head to those of encouragement. For the first time in my life, those angry judgy voices are silent – no words will ever express my gratitude. As with everything, you get out of Greenlight personal training what you put in, and I assure you with Coach Deonte, Bianca, and Laken, you will have a hard time not wanting to give it your all. It is the most positive place you will find, and after a few months you’ll not only discover your clothing fits better, and you don’t need help lifting those heavy boxes, but mentally and emotionally you will be more accepting of life’s ups and downs. If you have tried other weight loss programs and gyms and even had personal trainers in the past, it is nothing compared to the care you will receive from Greenlight Ashburn. You have nothing to lose but your weaknesses by signing up – It is easily the best decision I have made in several years.

They’ll push your body to achieve more than your brain thinks it can, but they do so with tact and in a way that feels encouraging. GPT has helped me address my health concerns from all angles.The nutritional counseling and accountability check-ins have helped me identify areas to work on and given me amazing support as I work on this journey. It's been 8 months since I began my fitness journey with Greenlight. I have struggled with obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and a myriad of other health issues ever since I stopped competing as a professional athlete in the early 90s. Deonte, Bianca and Laken have guided me as I have become more fit and healthier. I've gone from 296lbs to 255lbs. My A1C has dropped almost out of the diabetic range to 5.7. I have also seen gains in all my health numbers. I feel better and look better. As Greenlight has medicated their programming to my fitness enhancement I have also become dedicated to them and will continue with my physical and dietary training for the foreseeable future. .

I have been training at Greenlight Personal Training for almost a year and I highly recommend Deonte and Lakin, both are very knowledgeable and want to help their clients be a better version of themselves. I have knee issues and need modifications for certain exercises and they always have a solution that will challenge me but will keep me safe. I am very competitive, so there are times I feel frustrated that my body limits me, but having trainers who strive to bring out the best in me, keeps me motivated. Every client is on their own journey and at different levels, so everyone has a plan that is best for them.

Greenlight Personal Training is a top tier training facility. The trainers have advanced knowledge in not only training but also nutrition, and mindset coaching. They are able to adapt to clients learning styles and able to acknowledge movement patterns and modify quickly and easily. Being a physical therapist, it is refreshing knowing that there are other strengthening professionals I feel comfortable sending my patients to for more advanced strengthening following their rehab. I have worked with Greenlight both for personal training and nutritional and mindset coaching. Every interaction with Greenlight staff has been phenomenal. I worked with Natasha for personal training, and she constantly pushed me and was accommodating with exercise modifications because of my limitations. Even with modifications, I continually saw progress in becoming stronger.
I worked with Laken for nutritional and mindset coaching. She truly partnered with me to set realistic goals and walked every step of the way with me to help me achieve a healthier self both mentally and physically. She actively listened during each session, providing motivational advice and actionable steps to incrementally change healthy actions into habits. She has a wealth of nutritional knowledge that she applied to my specific case and needs, always tweaking and tailoring my plan to get me closer to my goals. Deonte listens to every goal, need, and concern. He is very responsive in tailoring workouts to accomodate old injuries, but never cheats you on progress. I am now doing pull-ups (on my own!). The 1:1 sessions fly by and I feel so much stronger, my joints feel more stable, and it puts me in a great mood for the remainder of the day. Highly, highly recommend!

My whole life I have fought the hard battle of being out of shape and an unhealthy BMI/fat %. I met Deonte in 2013 when he was just starting out as a personal trainer - he made me fall in love with working out and kept me motivated to reaching my goals. I’ve worked with trainers over many years. In the past 8 months I have achieved more results then all those years combined.
I spent almost a year looking for the right trainer. I was looking for someone with deep expertise in multiple disciplines: exercise, physiology, nutritional, and the science of personal discipline. A lot of personal trainers will only help with good form but don’t have the full breadth of knowledge necessary to get you to your goals.
Laken took the time to develop a deep understanding of me and my objectives. She tailored a program specifically for me. She holds me accountable while being encouraging. She coaches and teaches me why she chooses the specific training approach.
My main interests were in gaining muscle and improving balance so I could more confidently tackle the downhill mountain biking trails out west. Gaining muscle is not an easy task. With Laken’s nutritional guidance, weight lifting regimen and her readjusting my thought processes I’ve achieved my goals. This personal training experience consistently exceeds my expectations.
I was recently injured and worried about falling behind in my progress. Laken was accommodating and adapted my training plan. We kept our weekly check-ins and once I was cleared by the doctor, I restarted my adapted program and it is accelerating my recovery.
The scope of Laken’s expertise is so broad that she is way beyond what you would expect from a personal trainer. I trust her completely to help me continue achieving my goals and overall better fitness.

I approached the team with specific goals as an athlete and Laken worked with me to put together a training plan to meet my specific needs.
