This is one of the BEST bikram hot yoga classes in the United States. I love how warm and inviting the staff is and I love that they don’t allow phones and distractions into the room. They have nice showers to rinse off after class and the locker room has toiletries and other lovely amenities. Truly a wonderful experience. There’s a reason why the classes are packed every day. The heat is intense, but it really focuses your attention into your breath and body. Hot yoga Tysons is the real deal and I highly recommend it.

This is one of the finest hot yoga studios I've been to -- and I've probably been to 25 of them, including in other countries. It's clean and modern -- and the best part is the teaching staff. They all follow the traditional Bikram dialogue, and give excellent guidance along the way. The studio is nice and hot -- I don't think I've every experienced a better or more consistent heat system. There are toilets within the changing rooms and everything is kept in working order. This studio is very welcoming to new students. I love that this studio is dedicated to the 26-2 postures and that they help all students do the best they can in each class.

I’ve been going to Hot Yoga Tysons for years, and it’s been a wonderful experience. The teachers are kind, professional, and truly dedicated—they care deeply about the students and create a welcoming, friendly, and supportive space for everyone.
Hot yoga has had a real impact on my health. I used to struggle with bursitis in my left shoulder and arthritis in my left knee. Doctors suggested steroid shots, but I stuck with yoga—and it’s made a huge difference. The improvement in mobility and reduction in pain have been remarkable.
Hot Yoga Tysons is more than just a place to exercise—it’s a place to heal, grow, and feel part of a community. I’m so grateful for it. Highly recommend!

If you’d like a five star authentic bikram yoga experience Hot Yoga Tyson’s is THE place to go.
You will sweat more than you have ever sweated in your life, you may not be late, you may not speak in class, the number one goal is to stay in the room.
All instructors undergo the same vigorous and in-depth training but each has their own personality and style. That’s the nature of bikram—but the dialogue that directs your class is always the same.
If you are new to bikram, and this is your first class, I would recommend you read the first timers portion on the Hot Yoga Tysons website so you will be prepared which means hydrated, towel, mat and cold water in hand and wearing as little as possible because the room is between 107 and 112 degrees - and very humid - and you will be in the room for a full 90 minutes.
This is not a place for intolerance, big egos and the faint of heart. It’s a place to come and learn from bikram experts, to quiet your mind, challenge yourself, and emerge a student of the most amazing form of exercise that I, personally, have ever encountered.
At times I hate it but I always love it more. It has changed my body and my mind. And there is a reason the classes are full.

I love this studio, I have been going for more than ten years! It is Hot Yoga at its best, all professional teachers, all the poses are done in adherences to Bikram style, and the room is hot! That’s what it’s supposed to be!
Come here to challenge yourself to find something unique…balance, peace, strength, sweat, courage to work hard, it’s a fantastic routine you know what to expect every time..I just feel so revitalized every time I go!

I've been practicing 4 to 5 times a week for last 13 years at this studio. By far, this is the best Hot Yoga Studio in the Washington Metropolitan area. I live in Potomac and there are 3 studios near me, however I choose to drive to Virginia to practice at this studio. Here're some of the reasons:
1- Extremely Clean studio
2- Excellent HVAC system
3- Fantastic, knowledgeable, and experienced instructors
4- Very spacious and open practice studio
5- Consistent Class schedule
6 - Very friendly and family like atmosphere
I love this studio......

I stumbled upon Hot Yoga Tysons 13 years ago when I had a pinched nerve from an injury to my c7 vertebrae and couldn't turn my head. I was in search of a challenging form of exercise that could replace my daily long distance running. As much as I loved running, my knees and hips couldn't take it anymore. I required a healing form of exercise for my body. What a blessing to have discovered this practice and this studio. The teachers are SO knowledgeable. The community is very supportive. Yes, it's uncomfortably hot, and yes, most people are barely clothed but I am almost 60 years old and am in the best shape I have ever been in my life. Not once have I been injured from this yoga. It is a very challenging and humbling experience but it is life altering. I still look good in a bathing suit because of this practice.

I have gone to Tyson Hot Yoga for years. Although it is not close by and I have to endure the terrible traffic on the belt way, this is by far my favorite hot yoga studio. It has the best instructors who are knowledgeable and constructive. The studio is spacious and the temperature is consistent hotbmeeting the requirements of bikiram yoga. There is plenty of spaces to spread out. I highly recommend this studio if you want to give hot yoga a try. However, please be open minded and persistent about the practice in order to feel the benefits. It has helped my lower back pain tremendously.

This studio is truly something special. The teachers are incredible, the class variety is impressive, and the community of yogis who practice here are great.
I've consistently had positive experiences with the instructors—each one is knowledgeable, accessible, and brings something uniquely their own to the space they hold.
For example:
Sayyeda brings a calm, grounding presence that’s a perfect antidote to the constant busyness of this area- her energy immediately helps me reset.
Carol thoughtfully integrates anatomy and body awareness into her teaching, deepening the practice.
Vahid brings a warm, inclusive energy that makes everyone feel like they belong—whether it’s their first class or their hundredth.
Scott pairs his deep understanding with a kind, approachable presence.
Jessica’s the kind of teacher who cracks a joke, reminds you not to take yourself too seriously, and somehow makes even a tough, sweat-dripping class feel like a fun, empowering hangout.
And that’s just the beginning. These teachers are accessible, supportive, and genuinely care about their students. They’ve created a space where I’ve always felt welcome and encouraged.
The studio itself offers a wide range of class formats—from 60-minute express flows to a 90-minute advanced sessions and even special workshops (I’m especially hoping Jessica hosts another posture clinic soon!). There’s also plenty of parking, which is a rare and appreciated bonus.
Another standout aspect? The energy of the students. This is one of the few studios where I don’t feel any sense of competition. The emphasis is on listening to your body, taking breaks when needed, and honoring your own practice. There’s no pressure to push yourself beyond your edge just to “keep up” with the person next to you. That shift in energy is huge for me. My time on the mat is personal, and here, that’s fully respected.
So if you’ve read this far—try Hot Yoga Tysons. Take a few classes, explore different styles and teachers. Each can bring something valuable and meaningful to your practice.

My sister invited me to live this great experience and be part of Hot Yoga Tysons. I want to tell you that from day one, I have received very good treatment and respect from all the instructors, which has allowed me to make the most of the classes.
There is technique, teaching, discipline, organization, and order at the beginning, during, and at the end of each class.
I’ve really appreciated the adherence to the schedule and the mental and physical well-being I’ve gained.
Carol, Sayyeda, Jean, Jessica, Vahid — each of them has left important messages for my life.
I will always remember them, and I hope to continue this practice when I return to Bogotá. Thanks so much!

I love practicing at Hot Yoga Tyson’s. The ambience when you walk in, the friendly yogis and the huge fresh studio make it a very inviting studio to practice In. Jessica is an excellent yogi and I always enjoy her early morning classes. The perfect combination of mental anonymous corrections and motivation. I tore my meniscus after being hit by a car leaving an airport crosswalk in 2022. I have practiced and taught Bikram yoga for 10 years and my mobility became challenged as I could not reliably put weight on my left leg because the meniscus tear would prevent me from straightening the left leg at times and my calve muscles tightened and shortened to compensate causing my foot to turn inward changing my gait. Physical therapy, weight training along and with Bikram yoga helped heal my knee and avoid surgery. The 26/2 postures are a prescription for longevity & retaining mobility!

**Not Recommended**: I definitely do not recommend this place. When customers have problems, the owner himself asks them to leave or threatens to call the police for trivial matters. This is disgraceful, extremely rude, and not in the spirit of yoga.
- **Lack of Amenities**: This is a 90-minute hot yoga studio without a water fountain or lockers, and they do not allow you to leave the class early if you feel unwell.
- **Miscommunication and False Accusations**: During my check-in, I politely told the instructor, S, that I might need to leave 5 to 10 minutes early if I felt too much heat, although I was likely to stay until the end. She then saw me wearing earbuds and accused me of using them and ignoring her the last time I left the studio. I was not using earbuds when she claimed she called me. Despite other students being present and my rush to leave, she accused me of deliberately ignoring her.
- **Inflexible Rules**: I can respect rules such as not being able to leave the class early or wear earbuds (even though I haven’t seen any yoga class without music and restrictions on leaving if you suddenly feel too hot), but the application of these rules was unreasonable.
- **Unreasonable Accusations Post-Class**: The instructor claimed that I ignored her after the last session because I was wearing earphones, which was not the case as I was adjusting my earrings after class had ended. Even if I had been wearing earphones, the class was over, and I was no longer in the room. Such accusations are unjust and extreme.
- **Escalation and Threats by the Owner**: The instructor escalated the situation to the owner, who then asked me to leave and threatened to call the police.
- **Contradictory Health Concerns**: The studio claims to care about customer health but does not provide basic amenities like water, which is crucial for a hot yoga setting. I always drank the whole bottle within an hour. And there is no water fountain to refill and you can't leave the room either.
-**If you look into the 1 star reviews, you will see how rude this studio is. It's like the extreme collectinism where people have to obey them. All the tutors all just sit there and talked never do anything. Only the Asian old lady is kind and good.
With the vicious accusation, the owner didn't want to listen to the customer voice and threatened to call the police to waste police time? Please don't say you know yoga or you are yogis. With this malicious mindset, you are the shame of yoga spirit.

This studio is top notch. It is a gem in the DMV and offers 60 and 90 minute hot yoga classes in a clean and quiet space. One of the best studios I have practiced in from Hollywood to Bollywood. The students also are dedicated practitioners and staff are professionals so you can learn a lot just watching and listening as a beginner. This yoga is healing and for all ages. If you are a beginner yoga student, this is a great place to start and if you are an experienced practitioner, you will deepen your practice. Attend a posture clinic and learn the “Why?” behind the hot yoga series of 12 standing, 14 floor postures and 2 breathing exercises also known as the “26 & 2” or Bikram hot yoga. Your body will thank you!

I ventured off to this studio during my break, and it is top notch--hot room, changing room, showers, and lots of space. The instructors are friendly and welcoming. And, honestly, how can I return to my studio after this first class experience? What drew me most was the frequency of classes throughout the day everyday. The instructors practice with you, so that's always fun.
If I had to name one bit of feedback, it would be around the absence of individual correction. Maybe because I was new, but I didn't hear much instruction on how to do the postures correctly in the moment itself. If I were super brand new, I wouldn't know whether I was doing something wrong. That said, there's a ton of TLC and care in this studio. I love practicing here and will have to bounce between locations.

Hot Yoga Tysons is absolutely the best studio I have been to in the DC/VA area. I have been to studios in New Mexico, California and New York and HYT surpasses them all.
The studio is meticulously clean, bright, and welcoming. The studio does NOT smell like a locker room & the staff makes a tremendous effort in keeping the place sanitary.
The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and their emphasis on “form over depth” helps keep me from trying to over-do a pose. In turn, I feel much safer and I have not had one pull or strain from overestimating my abilities on the mat.
Parking is plentiful. This is extremely helpful because at other yoga studios, I have unwittingly parked in tow-zones. I have also been late for class due to looking for parking at other studios. At HYT, I pull right up park with no hassle.
The studio itself at HYT is also very unique. This was the first studio I have ever been in that was designed specifically for yoga. It really flows! It may seem like a small detail, but it really stands out among studios that are converted from an office space. The classroom, showers, bathroom stalls, reception area, etc. it all works and it is efficient. The classroom and changing areas do not feel crowded!
Hot Yoga Tysons costs a wee bit more than other studios in the area, but to have so many options EVERY DAY to take class is well worth it. Other studios have a wait-list for classes, and you may or may not be able to sign up when you finally have a break in your schedule. I have always been able to sign up for a class on any given day because HYT have so many options. With so many classes every day, the studio needs to pay their teachers for leading the classes. The little bit of extra cost is certainly worth everything above and beyond that the studio provides.
Hot Yoga Tysons also offers 90 minute classes! With no music! I HATE listening to other peoples playlists! Have you ever been on a mat, and listening to some lyrics that made you question wth was the teacher thinking? I have. I really appreciate that this has never happened at HYT.
Lastly, this studio also has the friendliest students I have encountered so far. It is just really nice. I started taking hot yoga about ten years ago. I move quite a bit for work, but every time I am near a city that offers hot yoga I sign up. This studio really stands out in the positive experience it provides.
Just in case you are on the fence: my sleep has greatly improved, I lost weight, I feel better overall, health issues cleared up. I am not taking any rx, and when I go to class regularly I sleep like a baby and I have zero aches and pains. I haven’t needed a doctor’s appointment. The monthly cost is well worth all these benefits.
This is my honest feedback. I do not know the owners/teachers. I did not receive any free services for this review.

I called here because I had purchased a Groupon that expired and had some questions on how I could still use it (I wanted to know the extra fee I would need pay on top of the expired Groupon as well as how to schedule classes). When I called, the worker that picked up was extremely rude. I asked a simple question and he raised his voice in a very unprofessional manner. I wasn’t understanding his response so I rephrased my question so I could understand what he was saying. He started yelling and I told him to stop being rude, he said “you asked me the same question 5 times and you’re not listening. what do you want me do” EXTREMELY rudely. He wouldn’t listen to me and kept raising his voice so I hung up.Terrible customer service. For a place that is supposed to spread peace and blessings, they sure did the opposite of that for me. Whether you don't understand what the customer is asking or not, it doesn't give you the right to be disrespectful. Honestly mind boggled that he reacted in such a manner. Would not recommend this place for that reason alone.

I decided to start Bikram yoga based on an advice of a good friend while going through a very rough patch in my personal life in 2008. After the first class, I felt empowered and told myself that if I can do this class, there is nothing in life I cannot do. In 2020, while the whole world was going through hard times, I found myself once again in need of the empowering and sanity that Bikram yoga practices encourage in me. So when I found out Tysons Bikram was taking every measure to stay open when most businesses decided it wasn’t worth the effort I could not be more grateful. Once again I found the solid ground under my feet and the sound voices of Carole, Jessica, Sayyedeh, Jamie, Vahid, and Gia in my head. Bikram yoga has been my sanctuary where I transformed hardship into self-growth instead of transferring. In the words of Insel “happy healthy you, happy healthy everyone around you”. Getting physical and health benefits have been the icing on the cake.

First, for those of you who are reading reviews and see that someone gave a 1-star review -- pay attention to how many people here and on Yelp give 1-star reviews because they paid cut rate for a Groupon, and didn't pay attention to and/or understand the parameters / guidelines under which the Groupon was offered -- and then get all cranky when they realize it's expired, or it can't be used (because they had already used one within a year), etc. Quite honestly, I personally have a difficult time being sympathetic to their plight.
Ok, everybody else -- let's start w the basics -- do you know what the Bikram series is? If not, a little research is a great idea -- HYT's webpage has some great info to help prepare you for your first class. HINT: start hydrating, like, yesterday!
Truth: the Bikram (26&2) series isn't for everybody (some people just don't ever acclimate to the heated environment), but it IS designed for EVERY BODY. Everybody can do it (in a way that works for their BODY), and HYT's amazing instructors will ensure that you obtain all of the benefits from every posture -- even if your version of a given posture is literally just standing still and focusing on your breath (in and out through the nose), which helps to activate your parasympathetic nervous system, thus reducing your primal "fight or flight" reactions -- as someone with chronic anxiety disorder, that's where I started a few years ago when I first discovered HYT, and the physical and mental health benefits that I've gained from retraining my body's breathing apparatus alone have been worth the membership / class fees.
I just don't see how someone can come to HYT and not feel completely welcomed and supported. From the very first time I attended class with Sayyeda in November 2018, I have felt "at home" at HYT. I've attended and enjoyed classes at other hot yoga studios in other cities, but there's just something special about the HYT family.
The owners (Insel and Shellie) are so incredibly giving and generous (and have made and continue to make enormous personal sacrifices to keep HYT's doors open throughout the pandemic). The instructors bring their entire selves to the hot room, and their compassion, intuition, and attentiveness to everybody in the room shines through in every class.
Since the pandemic, I've been practicing at home (attending virtual classes), and, even then, the instructors will "keep an eye" on their virtual yogis, providing encouragement and corrective feedback, just as if we were right there with them in the hot room. And, just as soon as I and my husband have been vaccinated, I will be right back in there with all of my fellow yogis, sweating, smiling, and locking the knee! CAN. NOT. WAIT!!! :-)
Speaking of the yogis, what an amazing community we have at HYT! The comradery, the collective feeling of "we're all here as individuals, yet we practice as one", the friendships that we share -- such intangible benefits! Also, there are so many classes offered on the schedule (including several options daily for virtual yogis) -- and there will likely be even more classes added once all capacity restrictions are lifted and we slowly begin to return to some semblance of normalcy.
HYT has become such an integral part of my life, and it's impossible to overstate how thoroughly grateful I am that I finally decided to give hot yoga a try. I hope that this review will encourage you to do the same -- your life (and your Camel) will never be the same again. :-)

This studio is a genuine small business—owned by a family with great heart and concern for the well-being of customers. At the same time, it operates as a high-performing, highly professional organization in a state-of-the-art facility for hot yoga, with classes taught by well-trained practitioners of healing arts. The studio offers a few types of classes, including Pilates, Vinyasa, and Kundalini (pre-pandemic), but the main offerings focus on the 26+2 poses, performed at 105-degree F, of the Bikram series, which is a form of Hatha yoga. It is a moving meditation, as some teachers have pointed out, so the strenuous nature of the stretching and balancing exercises is mitigated by the relaxing breathing and resting interspersed throughout the series. One need not be flexible, muscular, agile, or even advanced in fitness to start this practice. Classes are designed for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. The inclusiveness is central to the nonjudgmental, self-growth-focused culture of the studio and the age-old mind-body practices it teaches daily. It is easy to see this place as a community center. I’m very grateful it has survived the pandemic year, especially because I know the owners made sacrifices to avoid closing. Come join us in advancing your wellness in a wonderful place!

Started going here over three years ago for the emotional/spiritual benefits...and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for greater peace or health in their life.
This studio offered a quiet haven to just breathe while I faced the incredible pressures of nursing school & then working on the frontlines in D.C. during the pandemic. 🙏🏼🌈
Thank you to the amazing teachers here who help to de-stress, inspire, and cheer on their yogis. I am grateful for you🙌🏼 🥰🍀
Annnndddd...check out their classes if you’re curious. You will love it.

I went here several times a few years ago because I had a Groupon. I do not recommend this yoga studio. The instructors are straight up mean/rude and the classes will not give you any zen, which is the whole point of yoga lol. There are so many better studios in the area. Don’t waste your money here.

I am a new comer to Hot Yoga Tysons. I was hooked from the first class. This physical activity is both mentally and physically challenging. I have felt improvements with my sciatica pain. Vahid and Fatima are beautiful souls who lead great classes. The environment and energy at this place, alongside the community is very positive, welcoming, and loving. This will definitely be something I am sticking to long term.

Have been going to this place for years, never though of writing a review... But truly it deserves a good review. I started doing hot yoga to reduce stress, and it worked really well, improved my sleep, helped my headache... But most of all, the people here are sooo nice and chill. I never had to feel pressured to do something I don't feel comfortable. And I think most people would feel the same way coming here to practice yoga and heal themselves.

Hot Yoga Tysons is a great studio. Big, spacious (hot) room, good changing facilities, lots of classes (both 60 and 90 min classes as well as other options that I haven't experienced). Lots of people do yoga and I can only speak for Type A exercisers who also want a mindfulness practice - I come out of class worn out and with a calm mind -- not much more I could ask for. Of course I have my favorite instructors, but can get a good work out with any of them...2 things I notice: a) I feel like many of them are actively trying to improve as instructors and b) I appreciate that they are willing to give corrections to help us improve -- but they leave people alone who want to be left alone! It's almost the New Year - adding Bikram to the resolutions might be a good one!

Love this studio for SO MANY REASONS. The heat is incredible, always the perfect prescription of heat and humidity for Bikram yoga. The air quality in the hot room is fabulous- always plenty of fresh oxygen to feed your body through your practice. Love that there are so many 90min classic Bikram classes (7days a week - 30classes to choose from, all taught by Bikram certified instructors), but ALSO on the schedule are many 60min express classes (drop in at lunch!), hot pilates classes (awesome for cross training!), yin yoga, meditation class, and kundalini yoga. The studio is incredibly convenient, right off the toll road and the beltway, with tons of parking. Both the big studio and the small studio are CLEAN! The community is large, vibrant, and diverse - It has become my second home <3

I’ve been practicing here since they opened their doors and this kind of yoga is perfect for me and has been life changing. I can go on and on but I wasnt the most flexible person and Im a former Marine so I really love that this is a yoga that anybody (especially men) can do and get better and better, but it also keeps me disciplined. Overall, nothing else makes me as feel as healthy and happy (from mind, body and soul) as this yoga. I'm trying to give this place a chance. It's the closest Yoga place beside me (right behind my apartment) and I purchased a 20 class Groupon and have used up almost half of it so far. My initial impression of the Warm Pilates (HIIT) classes I've gone to is that it's challenging, fun, and really rewarding. I walk out feeling like a warrior and none of the workouts are impossible that I can't do them but depending on how I feel/ my food intake/ water intake, my strength I put in varies. Michelle, the instructor, is funny, motivating, and keeps the classes lighthearted, tough, but totally worth it. She's my fave so far. Her music is also anything from the Stranger Things soundtrack to Billie Eilish. She keeps it relevant. The heat can get a little overwhelming... but she opens the door towards the end, so it's fine. Definitely worth doing this class regularly. I also have noticed some defined abs as of late. My plank game has also gotten better.

Hot Yoga Tysons is a studio that every yoga lover dreams about! There are 50 classes a week and you have plenty to choose from. From 90HOT to 60HOT, through Yin yoga, Kundalini, Meditation, Intermediate class up to Pilates classes. Studio is clean and welcoming! The heating system has a very high standard and there is always plenty of Oxygen level, when you take a class.
Shampoo, conditioners, shower gels, Qtips, hair lacks, mouthwash, body lotion, hygienic needs...hair dryers...are always there in the changing rooms!
I have been practicing at Hot Yoga Tysons since “Day 1” as the studio has opened its doors and never left. First I was “just” a student, then went to teacher training and become one of yoga instructors. I am very proud to say that we have very high standards at Hot Yoga Tysons. Every yoga teacher has to go through a challenging teacher training, something like a “boot camp “ and just after that is allowed to stand in the podium and spread the message of love and light of yoga! Studio is welcoming, open to newcomers, energy is nice and tranquil. Candles and nice day smell of incense will welcome at the front door, together with the smile of your teacher and fellow yoginis.
Come and experience by yourself! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Ive been doing Bikram for over 10 years and have been to studios all over the country. This is one of the best, and in our back yard!! Bikram isn't for everyone- its hard, its hot, its super rewarding and there's a REAL sense of community here. This isn't something to do once like a fun ride at Disney and a recent wave of groupon users seem to expect that. If you are serious -or curious- about Bikram- TRY this studio, if you are looking for a "Groupon spa deal" look elsewhere. If you've never done Bikram-TRY it, drink lots of water- EXPECT it to be hot and challenging- the toughest class will be your first, but after a few classes you will find a groove. It's a powerful yoga thats not for everyone but the studio and staff are great.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GROUPON. THERE’S A REASON THEY HAVE SO MANY GROUPON DEALS. THEY ARE RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL
I went to Hot Yoga Tyson’s for the 1st time today. During the practice the instructor (Shelley) was extremely rude to me & called me snippy names. It was my 1st class at the location & when I hugged my wrists instead of elbows she said: “Those are your wrists, I said elbows!” Both instructors were mean & disrespectful. I had to leave 10 minutes early due to a prior commitment. I apologized and got up saying I will never leave a class early. The instructor said "Either you stay or never come back to my class". They are clueless with new comers and don’t know how to be polite.
I never want to go back to this studio. I have requested a full refund and hope they comply.

I have practiced at 4 different Bikram studios in the DMV area & the Tyson's studio I must say is my favorite. The studio is really big so you can go hide in the corner when you feel like being lazy & just want a light stretch. Also, the bathrooms are larger than other studios so I don't have ppl bumping into me while all sweaty. The staff, instructors, & the regular clientele are all wonderful. The instructors are all very attentive & offer posture corrections. Each instructor has their own teaching style & with regular practice you'll find the ones that are more suited for your taste. Some have a very mellow, soft approach & some have a more strict approach. I myself, like the soft approach, but some excel when they feel intimidated. All in all though, I think it's good to practice with different instructors. I'm constantly learning new things from different instructors. I know some ppl complain that the instructors are too strict & that they won't let you leave the room & what not. It's not that they won't "let you" leave the room, they're just encouraging you to stay in the room. They want you to tough it out & maybe do something you thought you couldn't do. It's all good intentions & they want you to get your money's worth. These postures are expensive so you better try & do them! If you have an ailment or don't feel like being pushed or corrected that day then simply relay that to the instructor beforehand & they will honor your wishes.
Now with all that being said, I have been practicing Bikram for about 3 yrs now & I must say it is the only form of workout I truly & consistently enjoy. The first class of course will not be pleasant. I actually left the room my first class bc I couldn't stand the heat & begged my friend who dragged me to class to leave. I'm so glad she made me stay bc even though it felt like hell during my first class, I actually felt great afterwards. I felt clean & energized. Detoxified. I had trouble sweating before but now I sweat like a faucet. Bikram opened up all my pores. I went back 2 days later well hydrated & got through the whole entire class without sitting out any of the postures. The first class I believe I did about 4 postures out of 26. Vast improvement! I think the key was that I returned just 2 days later as opposed to waiting a week or month. Now I am a bit addicted to the sweating & what it has done for my back & knee. Not to mention my immune system. I get back pain from sitting in front of a computer all day & a bum right knee from jumping around too much in my younger days I suppose. My back pain went away instantly & after about 10 consistent classes, my knee pain miraculously went away. Also as I mentioned before, I rarely get sick now. Before Bikram, I was constantly sick. Everytime I went to a social event I would come home with a cold & my cold would last for weeks. Since starting Bikram, I rarely get sick & when I do, I recover so much more quickly. Bikram really does heal your body if done the right way. Meaning, really listen to the instructors' instructions! Word by word.

I've been practicing Bikram yoga since the studio opened in 2010. I've warded off aches and pains and met the most wonderful group of people ever. The teachers are skilled at talking you through the class and generous with their time. The studio is the nicest one I've been able to practice in. The owner is a generous person in that when I was gone for a year for a health issue - he stopped my annual pass and let me use the time upon my return. He also supports local artists by displaying their work in the studio. I've bought mats and yoga towels there as well as yoga clothing all very competitively priced and high quality. I am very grateful for being able to use this wonderful studio and to have this wonderful community as part of my life.

I called just to ask a question and she didn't even ask to put me on hold she STILL had me on the phone and then she said and I quote "I cant talk to him right now I need to focus on what im doing you talk to him!" Then passed the phone to some other person who didn't speak English well and said to call back in 5 mins.
