Such a great studio and community! The classes are fun and well-paced, and the flow is accessible for all levels with many modifications to play with. Teachers are amazing and know how to pace a class, queue poses, and create a seamless flow - even while doing the same pose, they queue you to focus on new components of it each class that improve your understanding of all the pieces that feed into the postures. I also love that I can change my practice day by day to meet how I feel (sometimes more restorative, other times more energetic). IPY is a unique, authentic gem and getting to come here for practice is the highlight of my week.

Before trying Inner Power Yoga at the recommendation of a good friend i had only taken Yoga classes at my local gym...and while they served their purpose I will say that Inner Power Yoga is on an entirely different level...in fact it's not even in the same Galaxy. I couldnt possibly be happier with this studio- the pacing of the classes is superb and the instructors are just incredible: their level of knowledge, the attention and help that they constantly give the students as well as their kind, highly encouraging demeanor all adds up to a wholly worthwhile, excellent experience. I would highly recommend Inner Power Yoga to anyone- be it someone brand new to the discipline or even seasoned veterans, Inner Power Yoga has something great for everyone with their highly diverse class offerings. Special shout out to my current instructor Jonathan, who has made and continues to make my experience there a real treasure. Cheers!

Inner Power Yoga is an amazing studio and community; during my time there I have received so much encouragement and support in my yoga journey from instructors and fellow students. The physical adjustments (pre-Covid) and advice are spot on, and instructors are always excited to answer questions about poses or philosophies. I’ve taken Basics, All Levels, Mysore Ashtanga, Rocket, and Arm Balance workshops with Jayme, Jonathan, Caitie, and others, and they have all been wonderful. Even in Basics classes, there are usually cued opportunities to incorporate more advanced elements if you know them, and All Levels classes seamlessly integrate modification options for whatever you need that day. Mysore Ashtanga is a fantastic experience, a great combo of self-guided practice and one-on-one instruction when you’re ready to work on the next step.
Online livestream classes have been so perfect for me, both during the height of the pandemic and as things opened back up. It’s so convenient to be able to practice from home but still have the structure of a live class. IPY is incredible, and I’m so grateful to Jayme and Jonathan for this community they’ve built and for all they’ve taught me!

Hands down this is the best yoga studio that I have been to and I highly recommend to anyone! Warm and welcoming with excellent teachers who are encouraging, motivating, and happy to offer beginner and advanced modifications. The community Jonathan and Jayme have built through this studio is so supportive and wonderful - can't say enough good things. The classes will push your mental and physical balance in challenging and rewarding ways

Inner Power Yoga is a welcoming home for yogis of all levels. Informed and passionate teachers encourage you to create space for YOUR practice and will help modify to your unique needs and guide you into new poses. The peaceful, non-judgmental atmosphere and immediate sense of community provide me with exactly what I'm looking for in a studio. All of the teachers I've had here are informed, patient, and kind. IPY has helped grow my practice from occasional to a regular practice 4-6 days a week. They encourage the mindfulness and playfulness that make yoga so fun! I consider joining IPY a turning point for my yogic and wellness journey. If you're reading this, I hope to see you in class soon :)

I’ve been to several yoga studios over the years but I have never encountered a community quite like IPY! From the moment you step into the studio you feel welcomed and can instantly feel the sense of community there. I used to practice yoga just casually but after discovering IPY I was able to develop a consistent practice and now I’m in the studio 4-5 times a week and I love it! The All Levels classes are totally accessible for beginners but also give you tons of room to grow. The teachers do an amazing job at not only instructing safely and giving lots of options to modify the poses to your comfort level but also always encouraging you to try new things and expand your practice! There are tons of opportunities to try new things whether it be a relaxing restorative class or a workshop to learn fun new arm balances and inversions. I always look forward to going to IPY not just for the yoga but also for all the wonderful people and friends I’ve met through the studio!

Great teachers, very friendly and non-competitive atmosphere. Gretchen teaches a couple of fantastic yin yoga classes, and the rest of the classes are vinyasa flow classes that are also wonderful. We felt welcome from day one and look forward to coming here every week.

I have been practicing yoga for about 11 months. I went to several other studios and classes before I discovered IPY. I had some "interesting experiences" before coming to IPY and am glad to say I now practice 4-5 times a week at IPY. IPY is a very special studio. They have a strong community and a very welcoming style. The practice is physically challenging but they make it accessible for anyone who wants to participate. When starting out their basics classes at 7:45 PM are perfect. I was initially unsure of the heat but it isn't anything like bikram it is 85-90 degrees so you will definitely sweat but in a purifying, detoxifying, great work out kind of way.

Every instructor they have is knowledgeable, open, warm and puts on a great class. They have a diverse community of students and provide an appropriate level of challenge for practioners at every level. I can't believe how I have grown in my practice and how many great relationships I have formed!

If you are new to yoga or have been practicing yoga forever IPY is definitely a place you want to check out!

I went there for a class. I did like the place and staff but the area is a bit small. I would go often but it is a bit far for me to drive. Although I still get the emails and there's definitely classes I would take. So I am not ruling this studio out altogether.

IPY is hands down the most spectacular place to start or continue your yoga journey. Ursula is such a loving queen yoga mama and she has cultivated a group of teachers who are extraordinarily supportive, friendly, and skilled at what they do. Each teacher has his/her own voice and brings a unique element to the practice. Regardless of your practice development, each teacher learns the students in class well and offers insight into improving poses to each individual's motivation. It's is a family style community and fellow yogis(inis) enjoy practicing together and the atmosphere has a cheerful energetic mood. From beginners to experienced practitioners it is an embracing culture. Good days, bad days, the best place to spend a snippet of your day is on your mat at IPY; it can elevate the best of days and completely recover the cloudy days. Namaste <3

I feel blessed to be a part of the IPY community. The practice, the people, the vibe is amazing. Ursula cultivates a rare energy that is felt by every student who unrolls a mat on that floor. This is a sacred place.

I love this studio. I came here a few months back with a friend, and then decided to start coming regularly. I love every single one of the teachers. Gretchen specifically has spent time with me after class helping my with poses. She was just as excited as I am when I finally hit my headstand. It is clean, peaceful, and everything I could ask for in a studio.

A wonderful yoga community that provides refuge from your busy day and helps you to take on your day with balance and calm. Ursula Cox, the owner and one of the instructors of IPY is an amazing teacher, she genuinely cares about each and every person that comes into IPY and provides a challenging and fantastic practice. It is nice to come to a yoga studio where there is no judgement and that you can be yourself (as it should be). The classes and workshops offered are amazing and offer a variety of topics whether you want to focus on arm balances or inversions, beginners workshops or newly introduced to yoga I feel you can continually push yourself by the variety of instructors and classes you can take there.

If you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner I highly recommend trying Inner Power Yoga, you will be welcomed with open arms and challenged as much as you choose in your practice.

Great yoga Studio! I practice at this studio regularly. The best yoga studio in NoVa IMHO. It is friendly and inviting and students are led in mindful practices that challenge the experienced yogi, and are accessible to the new student. If you are new to yoga, you will enjoy the way you are eased into the practice, learning something new, without becoming uncomfortable. If you are an experienced yogi you will find a studio and community that is embracing, encouraging and challenging to expand and deepen your practice.

I can't say enough about this place, it's warm (yes, very) and I felt welcome from the first time that I set my foot in the door. All of the instructors are wonderful and there is no pressure, it's always at your own pace. IPY has made me love yoga. Wish I could go more often. I highly recommend a visit here, whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned yogi. Plus, Ursula usually has a great intro price for those that want to give it a try (don't quote me, but something like $10 for a week) and you can't beat that!
