The John Rolfe Family YMCA is such a huge value-add to the community. Their child watch is the best around, so much so that my kids actually look forward to going there. The equipment is clean, the staff is friendly, and best of all, I can fit in a quick coffee and grocery run before I go scoop the kids. As a stay at home mom, this place has been my saving grace so many times.

Nice staff and decent equipment. Don't show up when teenagers are on machine( teen girl respectful). Teen guys, not all, will camp out on a machine. They do one set, then get on their phone for 10 minutes. Ask to work in and get told they are using the machine. This probably only applies to 10 guys, at most.

Plenty of machines, dumbbell and barbell equipment, elliptical and treadmills- never have to “weight” for a workout. Love this location and staff!

The friendliest staff ever! They offer a wide variety of classes and programs to members of all ages. Gym is always clean and seldom crowded. Locker rooms are quiet, large, and well-maintained. Welcoming environment overall.

Great gym! Over the 10 years we lived in the area, we joined several different gyms. We ended up coming back to the YMCA because its convenient and they have the friendliest people. There is a good vibe here! Plus you can pick up groceries on your way out.

Simply too small for the price. Only one squat rack and one bench press rack. Very limited amount of cables and other machines compared to cheaper gyms. Better off at Crunch or Gold's.

The facility is kept very clean, and they have THE BEST staff. All are SO INCREDIBLY kind and personable!! My son and I have recently been visiting the John Rolfe facility and have been treated like family whenever we arrive. So awesome. Thanks to Louise and Nannette and the rest of the hard-working employees there for all that you do!!

The John Rolfe Y is a well kept secret! I'd made a lot of super friends there, and there are many challenging and well attended classes there that keep me fit and well-connected. I honestly don't know what I'd do without the John Rolfe Y.

What can I say? I love the YMCA! I really like this location because it's super convenient to where I live (just 5 minutes away) and it's really nice that it's above the Publix. I can workout and then do some quick grocery shopping if I need to! Also, since it's part of the Greater Richmond YMCA, I can use any YMCA in Richmond! It's true that this location doesn't have as much in the way of some of the fancier things like racquetball courts or swimming pools, but it's really nice that I can still go to YMCAs in the area that have those things as long as I use this one for more than half of my check-ins. Overall, this one is clean, convenient, and worth the price!

John Rolfe is a small ymca inside publix and for the amount of space they use it well. They have the same equipment as other YMCA's richmond. It's also never busy.
